King of Rome or Napoleon II – New Fragrance by Rancé 1795

In March 2008 Rancé 1795 has added a new fragrance to the prestigious patriotic collection inspired by Napoleon and the victories of France. The new jewel of this collection is created by Sandra Jean Rancé.

The new fragrance joined to the Colection Imperiale is devoted to François Charles, the only son of Napoleon and is named after him. François Charles was born on March 20, 1811 in Paris, France, and he died of tuberculoses on July 22, 1832 in Schönbrunn, Austria. When he was three years old, as his father abdicated after the defeat at Waterloo, on June 23, 1815, he was recognized as Emperor. He spent most of his life in Vienna.

This fragrance is created of noble notes with intense aromas. It brings an impression of walking through a forest enjoying a harmony of scents which graciously replace one another. Starting with green accords, over the forest flowers and plants, the notes create a fragrant saga in honor of François Charles.

The top notes waft with neroli, basil, cardamom, floral notes, bergamot and Calabrian lemon. The heart follows with cumin absolute, floral notes, ginger, geranium, cloves, and jasmine, while the base notes include Virginia cedar, iris, amber, leather and sensual musk.

The bottle is simply lined, very elegant and luxurious. The fragrance comes as 50ml (1.7 fl.oz.) and 100ml (3.4 fl.oz.) EDP. Read more about Rancé in Rancé – 400 Years of Tradition.
