After 50 years of work of the house of Lilly Pulitzer via Palm Beach, its owner, Lillian McKim Pulitzer Rousseau (Lilly Pulitzer), decided to take not one fragrant step, but three steps in November 2008. New perfumes in three colours, with beach associations, sunny citruses and gentle flowers will fit in perfectly in creations and years long tradition of this house. The perfumes do not follow trends of a season, but are connected with motifs, creations and history of the brand.
The perfumes were named Wink, Squeeze and Beachy. Wink has the motto "wear pink and make the boys wink", Beachy – evokes associations of Palm Beach, and Squeeze – as a reference of a stall with freshly squeezed juice, from which they sent their first deliveries to friends, such as Jackie Kennedy. Colours of creations by this house are lively, cheerful, pastel and optimistic.
Wink opens with aromas of pear nectar, pink freesia and aromas of lush garden, with heart blossoming with a bouquet of roses, white lily and violet, adding crystal amber and white musk in the base. The perfumer of this edition in a pink bottle is Cecile Krakower.
Squeeze is an exotic fragrance which opens with aromas of litchi, pink grapefruit and red currant. The heart includes lotus and wild rose petals, while the base notes introduce sunny accords of wood and musk. The perfumer of this edition in a yellow bottle is Mathilde Bijaoul.
Beachy is a fresh, joyful and intoxicating perfume, which offers water melon, sunny citruses and sea breeze aromas in the very opening, while the heart is enriched with jasmine flowers, tiare and frangipani. The base includes salt crystals, golden amber and sweet vanilla. This perfume in a blue bottle was created by Karine Dubreuil.
Design director and motifs creator by the house of Lilly Pulitzer, Janie Schoenborn, created combinations of colours and motifs which will be visible on stripes on colour pencil boxes, as well as on perfume package. Wink got primary motifs in pink and green nuances, Squeeze is decorated with yellow and orange, while Beachy is coloured in blues and greens. Secondary motifs are found on outside packages, as well as on body lotions. Design of the bottles was inspired by architecture Via Mizner in Palm Beach.
All three perfumes are available in two amounts: 50ml (1.7oz) EDP and 100ml (3.4oz) EDP, with an accompanying line of body lotions and scented candles.
