Love and Marriage – A short guide about scents and weddings

Love and Marriage – A short guide about scents and weddings

For all of you out there getting married, a piece of advice: don't forget that this day is all about you! And what can better summarize without words what you feel, who you are, how you love except a perfume.

Of course, you can wear something classic and obvious like Vera Wang. Because who knows better about weddings than the one who created the bridal gowns for, just to mention a few: Mariah Carrey, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, Victoria Beckham, Sharon Stone … and the list goes on and on.

So, if you cannot afford her dresses you can get her perfumes. Sheer Veil by Vera Wang, is great for a very light and aerial feeling, as you are walking on the ninth cloud anyway. Or, if you want to feel like a princes, why not wear Princess by Vera Wang – sweet like you, wrapped in vanilla like your dress and exotic from those guava tones (just to send a hint to your groom). In order to reciprocate, your groom can splash some Vera Wang for Men (spicy and warm, like all men should be).

Another idea would be to have a hidden message for the man of your dreams: something like Anick Goutal Ce Soir ou Jamais or another good one would be Calvin Klein Eternity just to show him how much time you have in mind to spend with him. And to prove that you are taking it seriously throw some Amarige by Givenchy (which is an anagram of the French word "mariage"). Just to celebrate the moment you can go for Emporio Armani White for Her. I am not sure if he should wear Emporio Armani White for Him, unless the theme of the wedding is the 80's, he is wearing a white suite and arrives ridding on a white horse (maybe tacky, but hey – it's your wedding).

Speaking of white, here is another traditional move: white flower scents. Here are a few ideas: the obvious Marc Jacobs Gardenia, Cacharel Amor Amor Eau Fraiche for the jasmine and Organza by Givenchy that incorporates 3 white flowers: gardenia, tuberose and jasmine.

The man of the day can tell her that she is the one with Aramis Always for Him. And what better than CK IN2U can tell her I love you. This perfume can deliver serious messages - the spiciness of the pimento show her how much she is desired and make her trust you with the warmth of the cocoa beans. Or you can just let her know how Clinique Happy for Him you are today!

And let's not forget what you are going to wear after the madding crowd went home and you two lovebirds are finally happy and married. Show him the way to your room with Vivienne Westwood Boudoir or make his head spin with that fascinating mix of saffron, jasmine and vettivert, all combined in a little love potion bottle called Agent Provocateur. He should ask himself: Am I irresistible or Very Irresistible for Men by Givenchy? Or he can let her know what he has in mind with L'Artisan Parfumeur Mechant Loup (English translation would be "Naughty Wolf"). Because all that sandalwood, myrrh and hazelnuts will have her at his feet in no time.

Nevertheless, whatever you choose to wear, make sure it will represent you and don't forget to make it special!
