No-Name Kenzo???

No-Name Kenzo???

11/07/08 14:01:45

A new creation by the house of Kenzo, announced for March 2009 and introduced without a name, has an unusual flacon created by architect and designer Ron Arad, while perfumer Aurelien Guichard was in charge of composition of this fragrance.

Shape and design of the unusual flacon expresses infinity and designer Arad's wish is that it is pleasant for use and that it fits your hand.

Guichard reinterpreted leather aromas with this composition. He found inspiration in marble dust scent.

Nameless Kenzo will be in stores from March 2009 in Kenzo's boutiques, for 188 Euro. ( glamourparis.com)

Or just named it: "NO NAME KENZO".

Downsides of nameless perfumes like this one or "Gucci Gucci", "Dior Dior", "Burberry Burberry"... and almost every mainstream house has examples of fragrance names without any identity "for him", "for her", "homme"... in my opinion are:

1. hard for viral / mouth-to-mouth marketing... you always miss the word or name of fragrance... most probably skip that 'news'
2. indicates luck of vision and main idea behind fragrance... usually nameless fragrance is pretty faceless too (this is my subjective impression)
3. it is hard to find it in online store or generally on the Internet

I guess before they release it it will get some name like "Kenzo Infinity"
