Yesterday Zoka, Michelyn and Jeca spent more time at the Perfume Expo America.

We were filled with joy as soon as we met with the ebullient Jessica Dunne, the founder of Ellie D Perfumes Jessica recounted the reason for starting her company in 2007, which is named for and inspired by her grandmother Eleanor, an artist and arts collector.

The legendary perfumer Michel Roudnitska, is the nose for both perfumes and helped Jessica to "bottle" these precious memories. Ellie, is an homage to classic French fragrances of the past, well structured and graceful, composed of fragile white blossoms, with a vintage touch. Ellie Nuit is a perfect choice for women who like a more woody fragrance; delicate roses are sprinkled with exotic spices and rest on a sensuous woody base. This fragrance is not only for evening, but so soft and elegant it easily can be worn in the day.  Both bottles' design was inspired by Jessica's personal collection of beautiful vintage flacons.

We were transported from the world of an American artist to the exotic East, when we discovered the opulent fragrances and luxurious packaging created by Coco Jojo.

People buy these treasures and don't dare to wear, a problem which the house from Egypt, Coco Jojo, also faced in the West.

The line of Coco Jojo fragrances is very extensive, including rich exotic orientals, fresh aquatics inspired by the Nile and delicate florals such as lotus blossom.

The bottles are adorned with molten gold, inspired by ancient perfume bottles that were found in the Egyptian Pyramids.

All the fragrances are composed of 100% natural oils. If you think that oil sounds too heavy for hot summer days, just use a drop, in your bath or on your pulse points. Coco Joco fragrances are also available in lightly perfumed powders.

Whole Fragrance, Private Label Organic Perfumes, which was founded by Irma Bustos,  are 100% pure vegetable certified organic fragrances  Irma  uses her knowledge of aromatherapy, the healing power of plants, to create fragrances that can help you de-stress or enhance your mood. Along with a regular perfume line and personal care products, WFLD creates custom fragrances. The house is based in NYC.

The noble fragrances of Rancé were also presented at PXA. Rancé was established in 1795 and still remains a family business:

Of course we were welcomed again by the eminent House of Molinard, who invited us all to Grasse next May when the roses are in bloom. We realized that these events are not just for reporting but for making new "friends in fragrance."

Zoka was honored by president Jean-Pierre Lerouge-Benard, who personally presented him with the delightful Molinard classic scent, Vervaine. It was created in the French manner of traditional eau de colognes (with petit grain and  fragrant herbs) and brings to mind  fresh breezes of the Grasse countryside. It is for both men and women, so clean and crisp that we recommend it to everybody this summer.

Good news from the perfume brand of Salvador Dali—two fragrances are newly debuted. We were enchanted by ITISLOVE in its detailed golden bottle. This fragrance will appeal to young women: sweet fresh, radiant, evoking carefree youth. We loved that there was a special treat hidden under the stopper—a lovely ring which is easily removed so you can wear it on your finger as you enjoy the beautiful scent.

For men, Salvador Dali fragrances has composed Black Sun Sport, a refreshing version of  the original Black Sun, launched in 2007. The new fragrance is very light and fresh, suitable for lovers of discreet scents and ideal for warm weather.

The Swiss jewelry house, Charriol is well-known for their luxury watches. We were introduced to three of their fragrances: two for women and a perfume for men. Two signature scents for women are offered in EDT and EDP versions, beautiful yet so very diferent. Charriol Eau de Toilette is a fresh floral created by perfumer Philippe Bousseton. Eau de Parfum is a seductive warm oriental fragrance for evening, created by perfumer Guillaume Flavigny.

Charriol for men is created by the famous perfumer Dominique Ropion. This masculine oriental fougere is a perfect blend of mouthwatering fruits, rose, refreshing herbs and nuances of fruity accords on a base of noble woods and resins.

For those who love the beauty of a rich iris floral, we suggest Irissime, just launched this month by Jacques Fath. Irrisime is delicate but with buttery nuances of iris. Other notes include precious rose de Mai and jasmine. The bottle is beautiful and befits such a lovely pefume.

This May Ermenegildo Zegna introduced its new ultimatively masculine Cologne, fresh and light, based on woody (cedar) and spicy (cardamom, galbanum) notes with an elegant top of citruses.

Manuel Canovas fragrance collection, Les fantaisies Parfumees was a new discovery for Zoka and Elena. The French company is famous for its richly designed intricate print fabrics and tapestries. There are six fragrances in the line: Pink Riviera, which is fruity floral and perfect for a day in St. Tropez. Route Mandarine is an exotic trip to the East and a spicy citrus scent. Balade Verte, was inspired by the beautiful french fabric called "toile," and is a woody green scent that is quite delightful. We all loved Isle de Blu, an aquatic scent that smelled like a clean ocean breeze. Lastly is Anse Turquoise which made us thirsty for pina coladas and wanting to leave the Expo to go the beach.

The team of Fragrantica is very thankful to Bernard and Ana Pommier, the founders of Perfume Expo America

Wonderful & insightful article, thank you! I am actually quite giddy with excitement, just reading about the lovely new perfumes & companies who exhibited - I think if I had actually attended, I may have fainted clean away with delight. I so wish I could have come, but am determined that I must go one day, and hope many other Fragranticans will join me.
