Pierre Balmain Ambre Gris - Spice Up Your Day

Pierre Balmain Ambre Gris - Spice Up Your Day

02/21/09 04:11:36

Ambre Gris, presented in 2008, is the last edition in the line of top quality fragrances by the house of Pierre Balmain. This oriental-woody cocktail of notes enriched with an opulent, spicy tact was developed by perfumer Guillaume Flavigny. Its composition encompasses accords of: pink pepper, myrrh, tuberose, immortal flower, cinnamon, benzoin, Guaiac wood, grey amber and musk.

Pierre Balmain Ambre Gris arrives in a retro flacon made of heavy, grey glass, with a white etiquette with name of the fragrance and of the house. The glass cube is crowned with a large, golden stopper, which associates of the Orient, palaces, wealth and luxury.

Spicy pepper with gourmand cinnamon opens the combination in a very insolent and strong way, with a sweet, creamy and balmy base which is present on my skin from the very beginning.

Spices are in the first plan; they are accentuated and dominant, together with tuberose, which is neither soapy nor aggressive, but just enough to accentuate femininity of the perfume in one moment.

Soft, warm, woody-musky, pleasant and comfortable notes stay constantly sweet and dry in the base of the fragrance from the beginning to the end. It has something anymalistic, wild and exotic.

To be honest, the perfume can even pass for a unisex edition. Ambre Gris associates of open markets with spices, of the Orient, hot air, temperament and liveliness. It will stay on the skin from 8 to 10 hours, and spreads a wide aura in the first moments, but as it develops and base notes come forward, it becomes creamy and close to the skin. The perfume is excellent.

Ambre Gris by Pierre Balmain comes in beautiful 75 and 100ml EDP bottles, matched with perfumed body lotion.

I just ordered this one based on your great review. I Hope it is as good as your discription.

Mals86: It DOES look like a golf ball.

Sounds very interesting, based on note description. And the bottle has great presence, but what's with the gilded golf ball on the cap??

This is on my next-to-buy list:) The notes are very promising
