REMINISCENCE - Les Notes Gourmandes, Do Re, Mi Fa, Sol La, Si Do, at my Wavelength!

Since I am a true fan of sweet and gourmand compositions, trying out the whole collection was not just a challenge for me – it was true happiness! Gourmand, quality and sweet fragrances in several tonalities and versions brought me back to a sort of a fairy-tale from childhood where everything is allowed. Reminiscence Les Notes Gourmandes is not at all simple  nor exclusively sweet, but composed of numerous layers and colours. Don't forget: it's still gourmand!

The first fragrance, Do Re, is the darkest, warmest, deep, soft and gourmand cake, a sweet filling of notes which embrace you comfortably and do not leave you for hours. The second one, Mi Fa, is lighter, fresher and more dashing for a nuance; it is a charming fragrance of girlhood , which is carefree and really pink! Third perfume, Sol La, calms you down and mesmerizes with citruses and pine, while Si Do, the fourth fragrance offers the least sweet combination of iris and cedar with a soft background. None of the fragrances is without sweetness, or sweet, passionate rhythm and intenseness, having on mind that the collection is connected with scale of musical notes. Before I tried them, I believed that the composition of each fragrance introduces one 'octave higher' than its antecedent, with lighter, thinner and fresher, but no less intensive aromas.

Overture of the fragrant world of Reminiscence begins with perfume Do Re, presented in a green flacon, decorated with a bow. Likeable, but not gentle scent will not leave disinterested those who prefer tasty perfumes with gourmand character.

The first fragrant candy of Les Notes Gourmandes smells pleasantly, warm and soft, as if it hugs you and pulls into its embrace from its first note. A real fragrant treat! It opens with creamy aromas associated with filling of a tasty cake waiting for its top coat. Fig is accentuated and very seductive, just like heliotrope flower which lends its caramel-like aromas. A heart is full of almonds with dark, earthy patchouli notes contributing to elegance, depth, warmth and opulence. A balmy, intensive finish of Tonka beans and benzoin with a long-lasting vanilla trail will not ease down on its embrace for a long time. This perfume reminds of winter holidays, of kitchens where daughters, mothers and grandmothers make cakes and cookies, of rich tables, of joy and happiness of home, of closeness and peaceful moments. A cold, snowy day is the perfect time to wear this perfume, in my opinion.

Mi Fa is the second fragrance, the pink scent of happiness, which excites from its very opening. Thin, fresh, citrus notes intertwine charmingly with extremely sweet  marshmellow accords, with delicate and noticeably fresh-sweet aromas of neroli blossom. An opulent and cheerful opening stays on the skin for a long time. Besides gourmand trail of almond, fresh and pleasantly balanced notes of petit grain and ozone rule in a heart, while mixing taste, citrus freshness and seductive pepper. Vanilla is a very pleasant bedding of the composition, where fresh-sweet notes rest peacefully. I see this fragrance as the scent of summer, first kisses and true happiness: scent of bonbons, colourful lollipop and children's smiles.

Sol La takes us two notes higher with its freshness and leads us to its green empire, thick pine forest crowned with aromatic herbs and fresh aromas of mint and citruses. It begins very green, tart and juicy, without sweetness. Aromas of lemon, bitter orange and mandarin with pine really reign the opening. Strong but likeable aromatic start makes me smell it over and over, it simply lures me with freshness, affects me as a medicine or an invigorating herbal potion. A heart is creamy, fresh and floral. You can feel a discrete hint of ylang-ylang, with petit grain and pink pepper which take over the composition with their creamy-spicy aromas. Even though envisaged as a fragrance for women, men could really enjoy it, as well. As it comes closer to its finish, aromas become softer, gentler, juicier and pleasantly seductive. A combination of vanilla, pear and patchouli is recognizable in the finish of the last two fragrances of the collection.

Si Do is a floral rhapsody in which you can expect fewer sweet notes. Fragrant arrangement of citrus notes in the very beginning is the high C of the composition, taking into consideration a gourmand background which clearly suggests its theme. The most elegant, gourmand one, if I may call it so, with sharp floral aromas of iris, fresh cedar, coloured with spices in a heart, also softens its notes by finishing with juicy pear and pleasant vanilla, which enriches all fragrances of Les Notes Gourmandes collection unselfishly.

All four fragrances were created by Zoe Coste and Jacques Fiori (Robertet), and have been available since 2008, in romantic flacons of 100 ml EDP, in pastel nuances: light green, pink, yellow and violet.

If I had to select just one, I personally could not do it, since each of them has its colour, strength and face. I do not think they were created to seduce, but to cheer you up, to enjoy them and with them, to wear them with joy, to smell them over and over with a smile. If you are a gourmand, I recommend to try them, since the four fragrances of Les Notes Gourmandes collection were created as an olfactive broadcasting of good vibrations. I truly enjoyed their sounds and long-lasting company. They guessed my frequency!

I've tried the first two from this Les Notes Gourmandes collection. They are truely candy like, sweet in an extreme way.
I thought I might get chokeed up, but funny I didn't. Actually, I find they're quite delightful, and their smells are really like different notes pitch: DoRe is green mellow, and pink-ish MiFa is kinda lighter and higher pitch
