Recommendations for the New Year\'s Gifts

New Year is approaching and if you have no idea what to present to the loved one for the incoming holidays, here are several ideas which fragrances might make nice presents for them. Especially, if you are among those who do not like to spend much time making decisions and picking the right gift, and the crowds which are these days unavoidable detail of the streets and stores, Fragrantica is here to help you with advice.

When it comes to men's fragrances, the choice range is wide. There are many brand new fragrances that have just come to the stores. Perhaps, for some of them it will take a bit more luck to find as they might have not become available yet, what we hope to be soon.

The fragrance that has for sure been added this fall and winter to the wish lists of many men is the first fragrance of the twin brothers Dean and Dan Caten known as DSquared2 – He Wood.

Their fragrance might still not be available in all parts of the world, but for sure it will achieve a great success having in mind that clothes and accessories with their signature become more and more popular.

Two more fragrances that can for sure be found on many men's wish lists, including mine, are Tom Ford for Men and Tom Ford for Men Extreme. However, in many parts of the world these fragrances might remain just a wish for some more time, as they are not really globally available.

To stick a bit longer to the rare and not overly popular and widely used fragrances, my suggestion which at least somewhere can be found is Narciso Rodriguez for Him.

After the great success of the women's fragrance For Her in EDP and EDT concentrations, this year Narciso Rodriguez has launched the version for men. This fragrance is by all means unique. It does not resemble anything that exists and the short description would be 'slightly retro' as the inspirations for creation of this fragrance were fougere fragrances of 1970's and 1980's.

Another novelty that has appeared just before holidays is for sure the new incarnation of Dior Homme, named Dior Homme Intense which comes as EDP.

One reason for purchasing this fragrance will probably be that most of the men who liked the regular Dior Homme, or somewhat milder Dior Homme Cologne, will like this one too. The bigger reason might be that this is a shot edition and it will not be re-produced, so in short, buy it while you still can.

If you are looking for a gift for a younger man, I would suggest the following fragrances – Givenchy Very Irresistible Fresh Attitude For Men, the new incarnation of Kenzo Air fragrance called Kenzo Air Intense, and the newest Kenzo fragrance for men Tokyo.

If you are looking for a fragrance that you will be able to use together, my suggestion would be the unisex Gaultier 2, which can be found as separable two-in-one bottle(s) (2×40ml, or 2×1.35 oz), so that you can use one yourself and the other one can be used by your significant other.

In this story about the possible gifts, we have not forgotten to suggest fragrances that men might present to their wives, fiancées and girlfriends. Here are several suggestions that might be helpful for men.

The first on that list would by all means be the new Givechy Ange ou Demon. It has become the absolute hit in many places.

These days it is possible to find a rechargeable bottle and those who decide to make it one of their signature fragrances will not have to purchase a new bottles each time. It will be possible to refill. This might be a good opportunity to discover which side of this fragrance will prevail with your significant other – angel, or a sexy devil.

If your significant other uses some of the incarnations of Very Irresistible, I would like to mention that just recently there has been launched Sensual Eau de Parfum version of this fragrance in a new package with a fragrant rose which can be used as a nice brooch, bracelet, or hairclip. Therefore, instead of one, you will practically be presenting two gifts.

Inspiration for the new Dior's fragrance Midnight Poison is the fairy tale about Cinderella. As this Cinderella is just arriving to the ball at midnight, there is an opportunity to gladden your loved one at midnight with this gorgeous fragrance.

Those would be my suggestions for the New Year's gifts and it is now up to you, dear Fragrantica members, to make a decision and choice and start towards your nearest perfume stores.
