The French perfume house Roger et Gallet was established in 1862. They became famous for their fine perfumed soaps. This year, 2012, the house celebrates its 150th anniversary with the release of Roger et Gallet classic fragrances in the flacon "Rouleau de l'Empereur"—a slim flacon inspired by the original bottle Jean Marie Farina designed for Napoleon Bonaparte to carry in his boot. It seems this design was quite popular in its day, for an unusual reason—the eaux de cologne were not only for perfuming oneself, but also for drinking!

Eau de Cologne Jean-Marie Farina in the red bottle is the oldest fragrance of these three. It is believed to have been created by the great grand-uncle of Jean Marie Farina—Johann Maria Farina—in 1806. The fragrance is a blend of lemon balm, orange flower, thyme, rosemary, marjoram and angelica herb.
Eau Fraîche Parfumée Bois d'Orange in the yellow flacon was first released in 2009. The notes of this refreshing citrus floral include: mandarin, basil, lemon verbena, orange blossom and neroli, amber, rosewood and cedar.
Eau Fraîche Parfumée Fleur d'Osmanthus in the green bottle is the most recent fragrance by Roger et Gallet, from 2011. The fragrance is inspired by Chinese osmanthus. It is composed of orange bark, mandarin, grapefruit, osmanthus, neroli, tonka, benzoin and sandalwood.

These look great - tho I have not been moved to buy any of their frags for years. Too wan for my taste.
And Woody Allen - in the good old days of 'Love and War' and 'Play it Again Sam' when he was funny -had a recurring gag about applying cologne normally and then desperately swigging it!
oh nice! much-much better packaging. Now I have this strange urge to buy Roger&Gallet fragrance.
By the way, that thing about drinking a cologne - really reminded me of the old Triple Cologne from soviet times. It was probably the cheapest, and, apparently, people were more likely to drink it, than use it as a fragrance ))
I love Roger and Gallet colognes and specially their soaps. Hope these will come to Ireland too! Thanks for the article.
Nice. These are way more prettier and more collectible.
