Sex Pistols Perfume

Paris - based perfume house Etat Libre D'Orange and its president Etienne de Swardt teamed up with Sex Pistols to launch their first perfume, "the spirit of punk in a bottle", under the name of the band. Mathilde Bijaoui is the nose of this rebellious peppery scented composition.

Sex Pistols fragrance is inspired by anarchy and chaos, as the ideologies of the bend that made a revolution in UK in the 70s, spreading to the international music scene. Therefore, this perfume tends to be a "revolution in a bottle."

“To wear this scent, you must resist tradition, fight conformity, and disregard aromatic conventions. In the spirit of punk, you must be willing to express yourself with abandon. You take risks and you wouldn’t be adverse to creating a little mayhem.”

Fresh lemon bites you early in the compositions, sharpened by the defiant black pepper. The unruly turbulence is caused by prune and intense ambrette seed, while the electricity of aldehydes, further inflated with leather and heliotrope, is subsequently grounded and brought back to earth by patchouli note.

Besides the intense flavor, the pack is also designed in the spirit of punk, including red plaid patterns, safety pins, England flag, pictures of the queen and the bend. The graphics are inspired by the cover of their first single from1977 "God Save The Queen." Sex Pistols perfume is available as 50 ml EDP.

I look forward, indeed, to trying this rebellious frag...It's got three ingredients I appreciate most: citrus, pepper & patchouli...My brother saw the Sex Pistols in San Fran when Johnny Rotten gave his, "ha, ha...don't you feel you've been cheated?" [paraphrase] speech...IPunk [the real punk, NOT today's so-called, watered down punk] was during my 'time' in my 'youth.' I gotta get a hold of some of this stuff soon!

So many of ELdO's scents are unique and enigmatic...this one is no different. I was coming of age at the end of the "punk" scene and let me tell you, the notes in this are the olfactive equivalent of what it was all about.

**I hope someday Siouxsie Sioux of the Banshees and the Creatures will be honored with one of their scents!**

A sharp and hot, spicy opening over dried fruit and woody musky seeds with aldehydes to turn up the volume, resting on a bed of leather and powdery heliotope with an "encore" of patchouli: GENIUS,SHEER GENIUS!!

I have yet to own a ELdO scent, and there are many that have intrigued me, this is The One I Want. Groundbreaking and flashing the bird to conventional fragrances...this IS punk in a bottle!

Wow, a "Sex Pistols" fragrance! As a teen I was not really a punk but only wore black for many, many years! Back then a was more of what you call now a "Gothic" ;-)

I am looking forward to this fragrance....hopefully I can get it in Switzerland?

By the way...."God save the queen" is a great album...!!!!
