Summer Aromas: Sea Notes in Fragrances

Summer Aromas: Sea Notes in Fragrances

07/04/08 10:04:50

We mostly think about cooling and refreshment during hot summer days. Water is the source of life and it surrounds us in different forms: liquid, solid and gassy, depending on its cycles. Water is the best friend of all living creatures inevitably.

The largest surfaces on our planet are composed of water, as many as 71 %. Oceans and seas are made of water, which has its specific composition. It contains sea water, so salinity can reach 1.025 g/ml on oceans' surfaces.

Perfumers create fresher compositions for new versions of fragrances, which contain sea water aromas, as summer refreshment. They depict freshness, refresh your organism and all senses. These perfumes are perfect for high temperatures, just like those we have in Belgrade today.

Sea aromas can usually be found in the top notes of fragrances. They open a fragrancy composition and introduce fresh, clean notes. Fragrances for men usually have aromatic compositions and they go well with fruity notes, herbs and fresh, floral notes.

Aromas of fresh, cold, foamy, sea waves are accentuated in editions for men Davidoff Cool Water and Acqua di Gio , which have been popular for years. New perfumes inspired by summer

breezes of a distant coast are Antonio Banderas Blue Seduction for men and Jil Sander Sun Men Fresh.

Niche houses also use accords of sea water in their perfumes. The house of Montale presented two perfumes with

this ingredient from its rich collection: Embruns d'Essaouira and Sandflowers – fragrance of sea wind, desert sand and flowers.

Some of intoxicating Mediterranean fragrances are Acqua di Parma Blue Mediterraneo Mirto di Panarea , which seduces with its aromatic and citrusy aromas, as well as with Mediterranean sea waves, and definitely Chanel Allure Homme Sport from 2004, which is a fresher and sharper version than the original.

Sea notes in perfumes for women are rarely combined, but we bring a few exceptions. M by Mariah Carey , which enriches a sensual composition of incense and Tiare flowers with a breath of sea aromas and salt, Rochas Aquawoman , summer fragrancy romance which refreshes aura, romantic Ella Mikao:Yujin Amour , as well as the latest fragrance by the house of Reminiscence Etoile de Rem .

Kiss of the sea

Besides perfumes containing aromas of sea water, aromatic fragrances of aromatic aquatic olfactive group or aromatic fresh aromas are also inspired by the sea and refreshment.

Besides composition of a fragrance, design of its bottle is very important, since it is supposed to follow symbolism of the fragrance. These editions are usually found in blue bottles, shaped like water bottles ( Puma Aqua Man ) or like frozen ice cubes (212 Men Summer on Ice 2003), transparent, of simple forms and clear lines, which signalize cleanliness.

When it is very hot outside, perfumes with sea aromas are an excellent choice. Even if you are in a town, like I am today, one spray of the blue will take you to some distant, fresher coast, at least in your mind.
