Sun in Perfume Bottles

Sun in Perfume Bottles

08/30/08 17:15:16

Shapes and colours have always attracted my attention and been of great importance to me. If I wanted to present summer through shape and colour, I would certainly choose a circle of orange, yellow and pastel nuances of fire, which symbolizes the sun as the source of warmth, light and life.

The sun is a star, the main and golden Diva of our solar system, inexhaustible energy which incessantly generates bright rays of sun; we often do not have time to think about it. We know it is here; it glows and does its part of work for our 'Mistress' of galaxy.

We often scold it, since it can be too hot during summer days, while we long for it with yearning in winter. We feel its presence every day, while it steadily glows in its beauty, which we can catch with our bear eyes at dawn or at sun dusk, while it still allows us to admire it, blinking.

How do we catch it and capture its grace, hotness, impression on our skin, when summer is over?

August is a summer month and days, even though still warm and real summer ones, are getting closer to autumn period, which will bring its darker and richer nuances and characteristic scents. After, hopefully, not too rainy autumn, there will come cold winter, which always seems longer than it really is. I will miss this heat, aromas of sun and summer in all their beauty and power.

Perfumers of various houses took care of aromas, which they compose and offer during spring season as an announcement of summer. Designers present bottles which carry associations of vacation, relaxation and high temperatures. I will offer my proposals which could brighten your winter day in reminiscence of warm tingling of sunrays on your skin, as marks of summer left behind our back, on this occasion.

The above mentioned circular shape, which reminds me of sun on your palm, is an edition of the house of Hermes, Elixir des Merveilles. The real sun is in a hand, in iridescent colours of ripe, crimson nuances of sun dusk and colours of thick honey and amber. Sunny editions are also: Elizabeth Arden Mediterranean Breeze – sunny and tingling summer breeze introducing sea scents, Jil Sander Sun Delight – romantic summer in a bottle, presented especially for summer atmosphere, Dior Sweet Bronze Sun, alcohol-free perfume offering sun and sea in a bottle – a real summer adventure in aromas.

Sol, a perfume by Spanish house of Bejar is the Sun on its stalk – luxurious, unique, golden and passionate.

The sun in the real sense of the word is placed on the top of the perfume Salvador Dali Le Roy Soleil – King Sun, which was presented in 1997 and which introduces a plentiful of summer aromas, fruit and flowers.

Besides these editions, many summer perfume pairs by Jean Paul Gaultier are also famous. He has released them successfully for a number of years, with new ideas, diversity of motifs with characteristic light aromas.

This year's summer pair is inspired by African motifs and exciting costumes: Classique Summer Fragrance 2008, as well as the edition for men Cologne Le Male Summer 2008. This year's explosive, gourmet, but unfortunately limited pair is Paco Rabanne Ultrared and Ultrared Man, which will take you back to vacation and aromas to take from this sunny summer.

The presented summer editions are alcohol-free versions, which can be worn in summer days: Estee Lauder Azuree Soleil Eau Fraiche Skinscent from 2007 and Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche Skinscent from 2008, as well as Clarins Sunshine Fragrance – introducing pleasant aromas, appropriate for usage in hot summer days.

Editions for men, which definitely associate with sunny summer are Dior Fahrenheit summer editions, which contain hotness and fire of the original perfume, but are cooled down with summer sea breezes in several versions, which have been presented by the house of Dior in the last few seasons.

Some perfumes which will try to warm up my winter and remind me of summer days are Sun by Jil Sander which warms the skin just like summer air, while Dune (my favourite) will cheer me up. It reminds me of hot sand with its colours and aromas warmed with rays of sun, with gorgeous sea breezes providing an impression of the sea, similar to unisex edition L`Occitane Feu d`Orange. It will melt each snowflake with its hot and cheerful notes and warm you with its aromas all the way till next summer.

But these are just my current choice and impressions. I am sure that yours will also be a real inspiration of summer aromas in colours of the sun!
