Tiare – Queen of Floral Necklace

Tiare – Queen of Floral Necklace

09/06/08 04:20:58

This exotic flower with an interesting name and hypnotic scent chose a heavenly spot for its growth and flourishing. Thanks to its beautiful petals, its whiteness and fullness, it is a natural jewel of Tahiti. Women adore it, men are seduced by it, and it is a real gift for adventurers and tourists who drop by on the coasts of the islands of Polynesia. Let's meet Tiare!

This flower is a sub sort of gardenia. Its Latin name is Gardenia Tahitensis, known worldwide as Tiare from Tahiti or Tiare Mahoi. Besides its extraordinary scent, which intoxicates with hypnotic, sweet aromas, Tiare is the symbol of Tahiti and is celebrated as the flower of love, since the snow-white petals stand for the language of love.

Tiare is adored and admired on Tahiti. Both men (tane-men from Tahiti) and women (vahines-women from Tahiti) use it as decoration. They usually put it behind their ears, so that floral crown opens towards the face and highlights beauty of young inhabitants during holidays and at special ceremonies. But pay attention on which ear is decorated – flower behind the left ear means that the particular person is happily in love, while the flower behind the right ear shows that the person is free and ready to open their heart for a new love. If the flower is set on the nape it almost clearly says: 'follow me'.

This gorgeous flower can often be found in typical, traditional 'floral' necklaces with other sorts of traditional flowers, given to guests in Tahiti as a sign of welcome. Such a gift must smell heavenly well!

The scent of Tiare flowers is very intensive, sweet, hypnotically attractive and intoxicating. Tiare grows as a bush, has round, firm leaves of dark green nuances (Tiare short video), so that white flowers stand out in their full beauty. It is believed that it mildens headache and cures wounds.

Production of natural, home-made oil named Monoi is preceded by harvesting process, which must be put on hold till the moment when plants are fully developed. Only then can flowers be picked by hand before the flower opens all its petals. They are taken quickly to factories, where they are put inside refined coconut oil and left there 15 days till they start showing all their opulence and range of aromas.

This kind of obtaining perfume is named "enfleurage", which is a French term for a unique step in extraction.

Tiare in perfumes awakes and excites senses of men and women. Compositions of such perfumes can lead you with their sweetness and exotic aromas to the Polynesian islands in a moment. Tiare is the dominant floral ingredient in perfumes such as: L'Erbolario -Tiare, Comptoir Sud Pacifique - Aloha Tiare or Avon - Tahitian Holiday, where it is combined with coconut aromas. The perfume goes perfectly with other ingredients in compositions such as Thierry Mugler - Alien Eau Luminescente, where it enjoys the company of fresh, sweet mandarin, Mariah Carey M – where Tiare leaves a trail together with gardenia, marine and sweet accords and incense, so this combination gives strength and intensity to the perfume.

Tiare is found also in floral bouquets like Cacharel Anais Anais Eau Legere, floral-fruity composition of exotic perfume Michael Kors- Island Fiji, as well as in romantic love song of Annick Goutal - Songes, where Tiare intertwines with musical notes of ylang-ylang, jasmine, frangipani and orange blossom fondling with vanilla. Another perfume dedicated to the heavenly islands and inspired by Tiare bouquet, accentuated with floral waves of rose, ylang-ylang, jasmine and vanilla is opulent Montale Intense Tiare.

Heavenly flower of Tiare symbolizes the soul of distant islands and people who are lucky enough to enjoy beauty and scents of snow-white petals, which are spreading their aromas around. Hypnotized by aromas, taken to distant, fragrant road of imagination, I stole a heavenly moment of Tiare flowers blossoming.
