Travalo - The Travel Perfume Atomiser

07/08/09 00:32:07

Have you ever gone through airport security to be told that your perfume or aftershave bottle does not meet the latest strict regulations for taking liquids on board the aircraft?

Travalo is a new, patented perfume atomizer bottle with an incredibly simple refilling system, and what’s more, it’s no bigger than a traditional pack of chewing gum!

Travalo’s 4.0ml capacity makes it possible for it to go into hand luggage safely and conveniently through customs in any country. Simple to take your fragrance with you wherever you go... even on an aircraft! Save all the hassles at the security check and add Travalo to your checklist of travel essentials.

The Travalo atomiser comes in a range of classic colours to suit all tastes, Bold Gold, Sleek Silver and Perfect Pink, with more colours to be announced in the near future . Travalo can be easily filled in just seconds with your favourite fragrance using a quick, simple pump action.  No messy funnels, and no spillages. The tiny 8cm Travalo fits neatly in the smallest pocket and weighs just 12 grams. Travalo packs in an incredible 50 sprays of your favourite fragrance, which gives around four days of use for the average user.

As an extra benefit Travalo‘s fill level indicator window shows you how much fragrance you have left so there are no surprises and you’re never caught short. Yusuf Okhai, CEO of Travalo quotes “Travalo was designed to fulfill the requirements of modern travel, offering the convenience and versatility that we all need today. It just works!“. A patented valve technology ensures that Travalo is completely safe to use on board flights by coping with the varying pressures.

Made from extremely durable and light, recyclable aircraft grade aluminium, Travalo will withstand numerous drops and bumps in your hand luggage without any risk of costly spillages, unlike full sized traditonal glass perfume bottles. Travalo is also eco friendly to the planet as 98% of all the parts can be recycled.

Travalo will be launched online at www.travalo.com and www.amazon.co.uk from £9.99. High street retail partners are yet to be announced.

Thank you very much for an interesting article.

I think this is similar to a gadget that comes with a new fragrance called "Swiss army Unlimited by Victorinox". The only difference is that it is given for free on 2.5 oz. glass or rubber Swiss army Unlimited bottles. Victorinox calls it "U-Fill tool".

In addition to that, U-Fill is a uniquely unobtrusive atomizer design (Swiss army knife scheme)working in pretty much the same way as "Travalo" but with only 40 sprays capacity. However, IMHO, I think the name "U-Fill" is more self-explanatory to me.

I have no idea which one comes into this first but I agree with everyone that it is a very good idea. I would reckon there might be more companies having this creativity in mind. I expect to see more perfume bottle designers to come up with an unobtrusive design and more importantly, without too high selling price :) One day, it might be a unique selling point for some perfume brands :)

By the way, this kind of atomizer can save my money for a 30-ml bottle of my favourite perfume too.

Cheers,

50 sprays lasts four days for the average user? How much are they spraying on? LOL!

I'm generally a two-spritz gal so this would last me three weeks or so. Not to mention I'd probably have to take 3 or 4 of them to suit my potentially different moods during travel.

Neat idea, though!

its look like the airport security should be more suspect in that refill bottle thatn perfume bottle - i guess they will excommunicate this bottle
whaen they will discover it
for my opinion, the design not nice at all
i prefer to use my perfume from the original bottle or to buy mini bottle !!! and ...most of the perfume not have the head whic suit to this refiil bottle

Here's how it works:

a similar solution exists, but works differently: youtube.com/watch?v=qul79-znwmg

You can get it here:

I'm not sure which one is better. Is there a risk of ruining the cap mechanism?

The idea is good indeed, I am waiting to try it. I think you do not need to remove the spray cap, you can spritz your perfume into the atomizer. It's only 4ml you have to fill ;o)

it doesn't say how the "patented pump-fill valve" works looks like one needs to remove the spray-cap of the perfume bottle :(
