Traveling through time with Opus Oils

Have you ever dreamt about going back in time? Going back to the days of  cabaret, vaudeville and silent movie starlets? Have you wondered how it was back then when Josephine Baker performed in her banana costume and Mata Hari´s exotic dancing lured men to tell their secrets to her? And Gloria Swanson eyes said more than a thousand words? I imagine it was a time of vitality, romance and joy, but also a time of silent rules, moral and conventions.

No matter how beautiful, intriguing and seductive the cabaret girls were, they weren’t a kind of girls a gentleman would marry. Even if the girls were smiling, I think deep down in there hearts many of them wished for the same things in life as the common and well-behaved girl next door. Oh well, it’s still the starlets, the female spy, the beautiful actress and the daring dancing girls we remember.

Situated in the heart of Hollywood Opus Oils has opened their Opus Oils Jitterbug Perfume Parlour. Considering the theme of their perfume oils and potions they couldn´t have been a better place. Opus Oils bring to life the girls everyone talked about then and still talks about now. Their beautiful bottles contain photos of the old fashioned beauties, styled in the old fashioned manner.

The Burlesque Collection consists of 6 different fragrances; Kitten, Charm, Gypsy, Siren, Tramp and Starlet (100% natural). The pictures are like old times french cards, and they are all perfume oils. What I like about the Burlesque Collection is that they are all modern, happy and easy to wear-fragrances but at the same time I´ve got a very retro feeling from all of them. They don´t seem to have so many "modern" notes and are quite down scaled, but still taking advantage of modern technique.

If you´re going to a burlesque club, throwing a 20' ies party or maybe just want to embrace the good old times all by your self, any of the oils in the Burlesque Collection will put you in the perfect mood. So what are you waiting for? Grab your feather boa and lace your corset and indulge yourself with some drops of any of the Burlesque Collection oils. By the way, my personal favourite among the Burlesque Collection is Tramp. It has an ability to combine sensuality with some shyness that is so gorgeus, softspoken, sweet and with a hint of creamy candy, but oh my... very sexy.

There is also the Island Girl collection. Here there are 5 different oils; Island, Tropique, Mantra, Tiare and Sugar Island. All fragrances in the Island Collection are 100% natural. And I can sure smell it, they´ve also got this retro feeling. And the bottles are so cute, with exotiqe beauties on.

The Island collection is very tropical, bright and floral. The gorgeus flowers are surrounded by coconut, vanilla, exotiqe fruits and a lot of other mouthwatering notes. When I try them I kind of think, well if I can´t go to Hawaii, Hawaii can come to me. And that must be quite an achivement to manage with in Sweden in black March? There isn´t anything heavy about the Island Girl collection, they are all soft, sensual and pretty. I happen to like Island (Hawaiian) the best, I think it must be the ginger or maybe the tuberose or... oh well, I like it no matter what.

As this wouldn´t enough they also have an Absinthe Collection, and you all know that artists, writers and models had a weak spot for absinthe, some hundred or so years ago. Well, I still got! I like the whole ritual with absinthe, it make me feel a little decadent, even tough I never drink such big amounts. A little absinthe goes a long way.

Opus Oils have two absinthe based oils to offer, both made with real absinthe. Absinthia is marketed toward a female audience and Absintheo toward males. Absinthia is softer and sweeter, but still with the charactheristic smell of absinthe, aromatic and a little licorice. Absintheo is dryer and a little bitter, and my husband think it´s really comfortable and nice, even tough I think it make him want a big bottle of bright green absinthe.

Is it more? Yes, really and I think I sawed the best. I haven´t yet mentioned Jitterbug Perfume. And do it deserve to be mentioned? Oh, yes I like it. This is a beautiful, soft, youthful and also, very retro fragrance. If you like proud, sensual and daring white florals you must try Jitterbug Perfume. If other fragrances among Opus Oils are a little tender and soft, Jitterbug is not. Jitterbug is the Grand Diva among the starlets and dancing girls in the Opus Oils line of fragrances. And she is so aware of it, it take some currage to wear Jitterbug.

But if you dare, you will find that the fragrance soften up after a while, leaving a white, powdery and still very magnetic basenote. Jitterbug has a depth and warmth that I find very pleasant.

Still I´m not done, they have a lot of other excellent perfumes to chose from, check out the Divine Collection with Pan, Isis, Venus and Eros, made with 100% natural oils.

Or if you dare to, they´ve also got the Fetish Collection, also 100% natural, and with 5 different oils. The Fetish Collection is unisex and have a more modern, yet kind of 70' ies, look than the other collections. The Fetish Collection consists of Toro, Spank, Cowboy, Voodoo and Sailor.

If the oils alone isn´t enough, there is also bath-and body products available in all the different fragrances.
