Viktor & Rolf launched a new women's fragrance called Bonbon in the spring of 2014. This fragrance named after the candy aims at women who celebrate pleasure and self-indulgence, as well as moments of relaxation and enjoyment.

The fragrance comes in a pink bottle shaped like a wrapped candy. Its composition is signed by Cecile Matton and Serge Majoullier. The key note is caramel, surrounded by aromas of mandarin, orange and peach at the top; flowers of orange blossom and jasmine in the heart; and cedar, guaiac wood, sandalwood and amber in the base.

Model Edita Vilkeviciute is the face of the campaign, shot by photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Ok so I got to the counter yesterday and sprayed on the back of my hand and walked away. Kept sniffing it as I walked around Myers. Yum. Went back to counter and asked if they had a sample. Lovely lady at counter gave me the sample. Kept sniffing it on my hand. Calmly walked back to the counter and said " um, I just have to buy this...."

To be fair I am a big fan of Flowerbomb and Eau Mega. I think there is a time and place for shy scents that are content to stay in the background but for the most part I like people to know when I have walked through a room. More importantly, I like to still be able to enjoy the smell of myself at the end of the day/evening. I find Viktor & Rolf, (as well as my all time fav, Christian Dior) fragrances give excellent sillage for money.

Bonbon is no exception. It's definitely an extroverted fragrance. The caramel is the most prominent note on me. It's not sickly to me at all... Sweet but a bit floral and fruity to balance the sweetness of the caramel. I know there are many sweet caramel fragrances around at the moment but trust me, this has more depth than most others. It doesn't smell cheap.

I own ALOT of fragrances at any given time and I like to use the people around me as guinea pigs to see which ones they react most positively to. I wore Bonbon to dinner last night (hubby was at a mates place so didn't get to experiment with him) and when I got to my sisters house my brother in law commented right away "you smell nice". Sister said "hey yeah what is that ?". Will try it out on my hubby this afternoon and at work on Monday.

All in all very happy I bought it and would buy again when it runs out.

guys stop turning this into a feminist fight. if you find the ad offensive then I have a solution for you: don't buy it. if you don't like sweet scents: don't buy it. if the bottle is really that horrendous to you: don't buy it OR decant it into a plain bottle.

I don't want to add to the clutter of pointless paragraphs so as soon as i can get my hands on this i will update with a review

Just had a sniff of this in the store and it is another strong sickly caramel perfume that i am sure i have come across before. it is not very unique, I think its similar to the sicklyness of Angel, Britney Spears and Prada Candy = for me overbearing and cheap.

Um, can I just point out that Bon Bon and Prada Candy only have ONE note in common?! Seriously, people. ONE. Why is a perfume with a caramel note automatically trying to be Prada Candy? Get a clue, people! Where's the benzoin or musk? Right, it's not there. And no, Prada Candy doesn't have vanilla in it. Just another example of people getting on the bandwagon and jumping the gun. I for one am going to wait to try this (with an open mind) before I slaughter it in the reviews!

Argh, another gourmand packaged in a slightly better bottle than Britney Spears. From the looks of it, they're going to come out with 40 different versions of this fragrance too.

I'm not sure what their plan was, but "please eat me" is not a message I want to advertise to the general public. It smells like Prada Candy with stronger caramel. I'm staying away.

I'm not asking for 1980s Guerlain ads, but I sort of wish we could have a little more class. Nekkid, wrapped in ribbon with "CANDY" slapped across makes you sound an easy target.

REALLY??
How are V&R going to ostentatiously deny they are trying their own 'groundbreaking' and shocking use of vanilla, caramel and amber?
PRADA CANDY EDP/JPG 2 anyone?

No,...
... not tried it yet, but...

...

... REALLY??

Hmmm... You recon she's (woman) the wrapping and her noo-nah is the Bon Bon?? What are they trying to do? What ARE They trying to say??!! Pleasure?? Self indulgence?? Relaxation??!! Ha ha ... Maybe it WAS done by a woman!! ( Maybe its a cryptic message to eat more bonbons);) I don't know, but she looks unsatisfied!! AND frustrated :D, no! She's longing, hoping.... Anyway, the very strategically placed bonbon bottle looks like its concealing (yet highlighting) the sweet bonbon just behind :) lol! unless I just relate everything to sex... :) That ad,,,,I'm still trying to figure it out.
Someone please make her happy.

Nonetheless, I still can't wait to try the juice. It sounds delicious!!
Will be hot footing it to Selfridges as soon as it lands. And be sure to give you a PROPER review.
Seriously though, That Ad could have been a little more creative than a body painted girl looking more sour than sweet. I guess sex sells. Even when you're talking bonbons. And if this perfume was intended to represent (Metaphorically), (in a tongue in cheek way),wink wink nudge nudge, the sweetness of a woman's bonbon, then I guess the perfume notes make sense :) We'll see.

I'd like to see it in person before making a comment on the bottle itself and the fragrance notes sound heavenly, would like to smell that in person before making a logical comment about that also.

I gather the center of the bow is what contains the perfume liquid and each side of the bows' bottom must have 'feet' in order to keep it steady when on display. It makes sense, my question is however, is the actual bow inclusive into the glass design; part of the bow (all glass) Or is the bow part plastic, with the perfume 'container' being glass and somehow glued into a plastic casing? Can't wait to smell the scent.

Bottle should have been tipped on its side. One bow holds the perfume the other is the cap and lid, then it would look mega-cute. I think maybe they've made the background dull to emphasise the vibrancy of the bottle, but personally I think the perfume amongst a sea of colourful bon bons would have been more relevant and enticing. Anyway, eager to try it just because I've been searching for an interesting caramel scent...time will tell.

I cant wait to try this! I like the advert but I think they should of used a different model, maybe somebody like Anais Pouliot or Josephine Skriver, even Candice Swanepoel would of been a better option, just somebody who looks a bit "sweeter"?

Some people are right, right about the add, it's just plain boring, gray background with a made up pose that does not explain what she is doing, and somebody was right that it looks like she has a toothache. If I was the designer of this perfume the add would be full of colors, baloons like in a party where there are bonbons everywhere, and a happy smiling face enjoying the party, now that would be an add! I do like the bottle, and I am sure I will love the fragrance, I thought I was going to love Eau Mega but i thought it was a very simple scent, nothing mega about it.

About time V&R came up with a new perfume and not another Flowerbomb bottle redesign!

Looking forward to giving this one a whiff, however I think this will be a bit like Prada Candy which I didn't really enjoy that much. Can't wait to find out! Hope they release it in Australia soon! xo

I'm sure it will smell good but this ad makes me want to cry.
I don't see the point of the nudity and she looks cold and sad.
And then there's the bow on her hoo-haa.
I'm sorry but this does not speak to me as a woman at all. It just makes me mad.
Why you would hire a group of male copywriters to create an ad for a womans perfume is just beyond me. Yeah, I'm assuming that whoever made this was a man because no woman in her right mind would think that other women would be intrigued by this mess.

I really like the bottle. The only thing is that with a bottle like this has to be made to a really high standard to look any good in real life. Unfortunately, with all the cost cutting measures employed these days this is rarely the case.

So we have a V&R take like Prada Candy?!...honestly the notes sound super tempting but for the key note to be caramel...come on!!...&& Yes I know I will love this V&R make amazing scents...but to do 25 billion versions of Flowerbomb which is already sweet then to come out with "Bon Bon" which looks like the Flowerbomb bottle grew wings && also is sweet...it's just like come on...give us something super over the top different...ugh w/e I'm still intrigued to see how it smells...but agreed like a previous commenter said before V&R are just sticking to what they they've been doing...SWEET! Not hating @ all I'm all for sweet && I'm sure it will probably be brilliant!...we shall see! :)

Update: I see my Candy comparison struck someone's nerve...to clarify I'm not saying 'Bon Bon' will smell like 'Candy' @ all...ok!...what I was merely bringing to attention of the fact that Prada did a play on a sweet candy like scent with the key note being caramel...&& now V&R is doing a scent based off a candy...with caramel also as the key note...I'm sure though this will have no likeness to Candy && will most likely smell completely different...but yes that's all I meant by my comment, thanks! :)

The notes make it sound like Viva La Juicy. The woodsy aspect is interesting.
I think the bottle is pretty cute. The ad is very meh, very obvious nudity with no real connection between the fragrance and the model, who looks like she has a tooth-ache.

We'll see if they can recreate the success they've had with Flowerbomb. I'm really not sure about the name or the bottle. It seems a little overdone, and the bottle is just not cute. They could have done a lot more with it. If they are trying to hit the mainstream market again, why not choose a more simple or less "artsy" design? But maybe that's just me. Plus I feel like the name doesn't really reflect the notes that we'll, but of course I'll have to smell it and see. Obviously I will be first in line to sample this when it comes out, I'm just not sure it's gonna be nearly as popular as Flowerbomb.

(Curious to smell this one, good execution visually)

Someone's gotta step it up in the creative department it's freaking 2014, if we don't we'll just keep seeing the same ideas recycled over and over.. and a lot of these companys have the potential! (Kilian, so far, has taken the best direction in my opinion)

The bottle in the ad is big because it would be hard to notice next to the naked lady. :-D

On a more serious note, I'm sure many people will give it a try since sweet scents are very popular nowadays.

Also, people who love perfumes go for the notes/samples and aren't as influenced by fragrance advertising as much as an average consumer.

The model is pretty but, like a previous comment says, I think the facial expression is a bit off.

Otherwise, I don't think the ad is vulgar or anything of that sort.
