Im sorry i love the way i can pick out the old bottles by its unique shape n color inow its goona be one same bunch, hope they stay away of the formulation.
for me relaunching a masterpiece is always a thump-up, I am purchasing Nu and In Love Again, more than one bottle each. I dont remember Nu,but I remember it only as dark oudy vanillic liquid...but purchasing it anyway . In Love Again was a favorite, and Baby Doll is reminding me of it big time, I smell mango in them
I agree fully, Endymion. You despair is reasonable.
I guess, if they sell all those fumes in new packagings, that the old ones will go. Otherwise I would not understand the world any longer.
I personally think, that you should stock up. Potentially the old packagings will be sold out cheaper? I really have no idea. It's like reading in tea leaves.
I mean, I do not understand this new concept a bit... Should it aim for niche? Or what??? With old scents that were never niche to begin with?????
Maybe Nu does smell beige now, lol.
Thank god, Yves Saint Laurent himself is dead and doesn't have to see the reputation of this house go even deeper.
So I have to stock some more bottles of Rive Gauche PH, YSL PH and M7, and maybe Jazz (I thought Jazz still sells well but it seems I was wrong).
The new bottles are nice but nowhere near the original packagings.
What I don't understand is that I see Jazz, Rive Gauche PH, YSL PH, Yvresse and Y in original packaging around here, it's not a big deal to get them (yet?). Is that mean that they are the last bottles, they stopped producing them for good?
They left Live Jazz, Vice Versa and Body Kouros out of the line. What will happen to them. I know, Live Jazz never was popular, but still...
And I agree, beige just simply doesn't suit NU, it's a dark fragrance. Or did they make a fresh version now? :S I think both NU EDP and EDT deserv to be re-launch and they are different but amazing none the less.
Bring back Y in parfum and edp.
I don't think the bottles are that classy or beautiful, and if the fragrances are reformulated watered down versions I couldn't care less about this launch. Yes, Endymion, I don't understand the reason for these reformulations either, when they seem to be appealing to faithful lovers of the "old" creations. Maybe they are thinking of new users that didn't know the original scents as target consumers too. This seems to be the rule of the market lately: "simplify and win". How sad. Olfactory art reduced to a minimum with every new vintage re-launch!
If those ones are watered down then i don´t know what is happened to "In love again" fragrance??? This one wasn´t very strong or harsh, it was quite delicate and one of my all time favorites, but with limited sillage. If it is now watered down, then i don´t know what is left of it anyway???
And by the way, the bottle for "NU" should be black, like the men´s one, since it doesn´t fit the fragrance at all. And "YSL pour homme" should be instead beige.
they look beautiful! Great idea, in love again was so popular! however, now it smells really old school, I really want to know if it will be a success again!
I certainly hope these become available in the U.S. - I just went to the Harrods website and they are indeed available, but at the end of every description there's a item that reads:
"Regrettably, this product is non-returnable and NON-EXPORTABLE."
The only driving factor, for me - at least, is the M7 Oud Absolu. I'm very interested in knowing if the oud/agarwood accord has been ramped back up. If any real fan of this fragrance has noticed, recent versions have only a fraction of that accord - forcing folks like me to seek out vintage versions and testers. However, I've enough PH and Rive Gauche PH to last a lifetime ;)
There's something I really cannot understand :(
If these re-editions want to safisty the crowd hungry for their beloved lost fragrances WHY THE HELL do they reformulate the compositions?????!!!!!!!
People want to purchase the original fragrances because they miss them so much! Not because they are longing for something else! They want exactly what they have LOST!
They are available at Harrods also, and they are not limited editions.
We already had a little chat about those new ones at the reviews of Nu (2001 EdP). One fraganticista knows somebody, who tested all:
They are all reformulated and for the worse, in his opinion.
Now is the time to stock up on the ones, which are still available in the usual bottles, I suppose. I personally don't care much for bottles, if they would not touch the formula. But they can't. They simply can't help themselfs. Like compulsion.
I guess all of them must be new reformulations, am I right?
If it wasn't bad enough with movie and TV industry making sequel after sequel after prequel, now the perfume industry hires the same executives that bring on the same decadent strategy for YSL and other Maisons!!
I'm confused...In the perfumes indivudual page, its stated that its a new perfume and the notes mentioned for "In love again" (did not check all) are different from the original.
Yes, does any knows, when they are coming out and will this be a world wide release?
Does holiday edition mean it's limited? :(
I think they are already available. All perfumes can be found at YSL web page too.
Awesome Re-Launch in a new cohesive look! :)
they all look gorgeous!
do you know when is coming out?
