Yves Saint Laurent introduces Opium Elixir Voluptueux, a more intensive, opulent and passionate edition, which is applied on the skin with its glass stopper or with your finger. That enables the irresistible charm of EDP to linger on your neck, cleavage, forearm...

Passionate whisper of mandarin, bergamot and lily of the valley accompanies floral bora full emotions of opulent heart, adding Sambac jasmine, carnation and red myrrh. They lie peacefully on base notes of vanilla, patchouli, opoponax and amber.

Bottle was inspired by edition Inro Perfume Opium; it is very classy and transparent, and it enables us admire fragrant liveliness of the composition. Sculptural form resembles older editions, with details in characteristic, red nuances.

Perfume Opium Elixir Voluptueux has been available as 50ml EDP, for 64 Euro, since November 2008. ( beaute-addict )

We remind you that Opium Collector Edition 2008 has recently been presented in Fragrantica's news.

I second the approval of the glass stopper, not really for the practicality (If I'm wearing Opium, the last thing I worry about is discretion!) but because there is something so feminine and glamourous about the idea of a tiny drop behind the ears, in the cleavage etc. It's been a long time since I used Opium for no better reason than that everyone wears it. This may herald my return!

It’s so good to see YSL going back to the "glass stopper" or finger application of a scent. Especially one as potent as Opium (or specifically this version of Opium). Sometimes the spray bottle it too aggressive and it can be difficult to control where you want the scent to present itself. In days gone by, some of my most loved fragrances were bold and needed a delicate hand for application. Like Salvador Dali, Ombre Rose or Sinan by Jean-Marc Sinan. How I wish more designers would use the glass stopper or at least sell some of their bottles with no sprayer.
