Cornflower, also known as Entaurea Cyanus, is a small plant native to Europe. The plant is distinguished by its large flowers of an intense blue color. In the past it often grew as a weed in crop fields, but the modern use of herbicides has almost completely destroyed its habitat. Today, cornflower is mainly an ornamental plant in gardens. This plant was also the favorite flower of John F. Kennedy. In traditional folklore, these flowers were worn by young men in love. If the flower faded, it was taken as a symbol of fading love.
