This fragrance reminds me of the scent of damp, freshly washed, floral scented linen. It's the exact scent of my sheets as they blow in the breeze after I've hung them up to dry. I'm not sure whether it's a smell I prefer around me or on me.
I may have applied more than I should have, mistaking this fragrance for something soft and ethereal prior to spraying. How wrong I was. This fragrance opens quite strongly and without mercy.
In the official scent pyramid, one of the main notes is wool essence. Well that certainly explains the material accord I keep smelling. I can't seem to get past that strong, lemony floral blend that resembles the scent of soap and laundry detergent. I don't mean that in a bad way, in fact the uniqueness that is presented here is admirable.
It's got quite a crisp and green berry accord, most likely from the raspberry leaves, which is another ingredient not listed here. The overall feel of this fragrance is soapy, clean and refreshing. Perhaps even a little bit cuddly.
Honestly, it's not my cup of tea. Like other reviewers here, I've tried to love it but failed. I prefer smoother florals, yet I do find Cashmere Twill's crispness invigorating at times. It is nothing like Donna Karan's Cashmere Mist, and for that, I'm glad. It's original, and in a very strange sense of the word, I like it.
I'm here with you Chris. I expected so much more and I had a thought that I might love it, anice is one of my favourite notes, but somehow I din't get it from this scent.
It started weird and lemony, followed by extremely shy and almost-there bits of anice and mint. My wrists actually smell like I've washed them with some kind of soap an hour ago. Really shy, almost not-there.
A no from me :(
Oh dear. I'm sorry. I'm not feeling the love for Cashmere Twill. (I WANT to love it: kastehelmi makes it sound so intriguing!)
My honest-to-goodness best description that I can think of is: on me it smells like mint leaves that have been steeped in boiling water, then wrung out in soiled underwear (or, as my Dutch in-laws would say: something "vies"). I'm in the middle of reading Turin & Sanchez' Perfume Guide. They describe sweaty, fecal, foul odours as being "indolic". Apparently even the loveliest of florals can also be described this way.
The way I feel about Cashmere Twill might be the same way some people feel about Eden. I encourage members to try it, and write their review on this page. I'm curious to see what others think of the scent.
Such a beautiful summer scent, wish they added some salt for more lasting isllage the sweet anise plays well. love the vetiver and ceder base notes.
