According to historical data, Iris was favorite flower of Catherine de Medici, a Queen of France and amazing woman, born in Florence. Of course, Iris was the main ingredient for creating the "Fragrance of Queen". For Italians Iris is the Noble within the flowers.
Following classical traditions of Italian perfumery, fragrances of Acqua di Parma are produced of natural components. In 2004 Acqua di Parma has introduced its first perfume for women - Iris Nobile, EDT version, created by Francis Kurkdjian and Francoise Caron. The Eau de Parfum version of Iris Nobile followed in 2006 (Francoise Caron). Its special edition Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile Edizione Speciale 2008 is "a perfume that recalls the delicate and imperious beauty of Iris" - this is how Acqua di Parma introduces this limited (Christmas) edition. The packing of the bottle and the bottle itself are seducing with elegance and femininity. Delicate arabesque-pattern on the heavy glass bottle makes this golden juice look alive.
The perfume is very intense, but delicate and sensuous at the same time, and it is the iris scent from the very first second till the base. It is warm and rich aroma of a velvety iris in the full blossom, that luxuriates under the summer sun. It is very soft, slightly powdery. The star anise and ylang ylang makes it slightly sweet and creamy. I didn't smell vanilla, but the dry down is exciting. I think this perfume shows better development in a colder seasons - it is perfect perfume for autumn and winter.
