This Acqua di Parma creation was presented in 2007 as woody-leathery fragrance for men. It was created by two renowned noses, Alberto Morillas and Francois Demanchy. Colonia Intensa is masculine, intensive, noble and classical. It brings the sweet freshness of bergamot, citrus, cardamom and ginger in the top notes. The heart follows the aromatic line and is composed of myrtle, artemisia, neroli, cedar and Guaiac wood. The base unites leather, patchouli, benzoin and musk. This fragrance is available as 50ml and 100ml Eau de Cologne.
Colonia Intensa was created by Alberto Morillas and Francois Demachy.

Another non-sequitur in the Acqua di Parma COLONIA line-up, COLONIA INTENSA offers a fairly standard palette of notes featured in men's colognes: cedar, ginger, and cardamom are most dominant to my nose, with cedar by far the strongest and most persistent presence. The leather is quite light here, only darkening the cedar slightly, as far as I can tell.
Someone will probably hate me for saying this, but while wearing COLONIA INTENSA, I was reminded of BENETTON BLU (which I recently tested), another super-cedar-rich masculine composition. In a side-by-side comparison, I must say that they are much closer to one another than this "COLONIA" is to either ASSOLUTA or the original.
INTENSA strikes me as a perfectly fine scent for gents. Nothing new at all, but relatively pleasant. A safe choice.
Smells like a very nice old lady in church on Sunday morning. Definitely NOT for men.
I so wanted to love this scent...it's in such a beautiful bottle, has the best ingredients, and is pure class... but there is just something that 'jars' in the drydown. Can't put my finger on it.
Anyone want to buy it on ebay?! Have only worn it once! Send me a private message :)
I agree with K1, just don't like it.
This has nothing to do with the original Colonia. This is too herbal and feminine. Can't see how this is branded as a 'mens' fragrance, it's unisex.
This has floral notes all over it from start to finish. Not wearable at all IMO, smells like an old lady.
The original Colonia on the other hand is brilliant.
It opens so strange and so herbal and a bit sticky. Smells a bit like something spoiled initially and turns to woody notes with familiar soapy background that became the signature of the company! Maybe the wet and juicy odor sucks a bit and make it teasing.
Not my cop of tea and I don't like it but don't judge on my taste. You better trust on your nose cause it's a great perfume and maybe I'm rookie!
a fresh cologne with a ginger topnote. It has the style of a classic cologne but this has a woody accent. staying power is amazing, I can smell it still the next day
Smells great on a woman
Definately unisex. I adore the way citrus and woody notes both develop, pure luxury that lasts
The usual citrus to open, accompanied with fresh ginger this time, then a little nutty smoothness from cardamom.
A scant breeze of cedar and herbs wafts in gently but then cardamom continues to project and remains prevalent. I don't get much leather at all, but instead, something rather slick lingering on top that feels rather like myrrh... a little confused as the description says myrtle, but the pyramid says myrrh indeed (when you hover over the myrtle icon). Perhaps it's the accord created by resiny benzoin and nutty cardamom.
Woody and resinous to close and not how I expected this cologne to finish. Still some present citrus in the base, but the slick finish is quite interesting and manly.
Classy and classic. A refined elegant woody scent for stylish "dressed up" gentlemen. Mature, masculine, serious, and sexy. Perfect for all seasons. A winner from A-D-P!
This is one of those really well crafted perfumes, so well balanced, so calibrated, so perfect, so discreet and blah blah blah that absolutely doesn't give me any sensation. It's like a beatuìiful woman with no personality, pleasant at first but boring after a while.
Rating: 7/10 (for the relevance)
I just love the fact, that some brands like Acqua di Parma, still have the sense of how to make a very, very honest, simple, harmonious and updated eau de cologne, skilfully avoiding the "pothole" of sports, aquas, ozones and other meaningless definitions of that genre. The result is a sparkling and vibrant eau, with the leather-musk-benzoin collaboration to keep it close to the skin and take it to the level, where a perfume is more than a smell, it's a statement. It stays with you for a significantly long time and it makes you feel that there is still hope for the gents out there.
Having said that, I smelled it once on a very beautiful and posh lady and believe me, it really, really worked. And when I mentioned that her choice of perfume was brilliant, she grinded slightly and said: "Let's keep it a secret...".
sweet tune dominates on me after half an hour of delicate citrus note... think to be good on 30-years macho brune
Unisex, to me, anyhow. Wonderful citrus top notes, lime (more than lemon), bergamot...quickly morphing to what smells on me like incense...but with a green "edge" to it. Sweet but still citrusy, gingery... and in just a few moments, the leathery, woody stage begins... and the lime seems more orangey as it fades. Musk and still the citrus, some smokiness, woodiness...then leathery, smoky and spicy, which lingers for a few more hours...with a little powderiness on my skin. Very nice. (I tend toward scents designed for men, they seem to to better on my skin.)
I wear this and I love it. I tend to change aftershaves when I change my females and after wearing Hermes Rocabar for 3 years, a change was necessary! (enforced change) My skin suits spicy scents, (previous girls have included Versace Homme, Roger et Gallet, Chanel Allure and of course, Rocabar)
However, the Rocabar and the AdP Intensa have a luxurious prestige about them that the other's can;t achieve. AdP use aromatic oils as their base and this is evident when you touch your skin after spraying. There is a greasy, but pleasing feel, that is not evident in alcohol based fragrances. Currently being footloose and fancy free, the females I have met so far all love the smell. However, gentlemen, always remember it's about your skin as much as the fragrance so always try before you buy.
I agree with originaldeftom . Perfect for people who like Eau Sauvage and Armani Homme . Get these 3 together so you can switch and 1 is more special then other but all 3 are truly classic . Difficult to find ( well here it is ) but worth looking for it .
For me : a great summer smell with more then a touch of luxury for men who like to be classic and modern . Good looking and confident . Not for teens but neither are the other 2 mentioned .
I'm crazy about this scent. Bought as a gift and really made someone's day)
An absolute classic! Think of Italy and the Mediterranean: sun, sand, sxx, lemons, oranges, yellow and white flowers, vanilla, and all of that created in perfect harmony so as to resemble the very best the Italian summer has to offer: this scent literally lifts your mood like a sunset in August over the Isla di Capri. Very classic yet modern scent to be grouped with Eau Sauvage by Dior, Armani Homme/ Armani...sadly this scent it sinfully expensive...but then again, it is sinfully good!
Ideal wearer: a drop dead gorgeous man, well dressed, wealthy, dark type, confident without bragging, outgoing personality, Cary Grant would have been the ideal brand ambassador for this fragrance.
Good choice, coco76! A fantastically handsome scent!
Yes! finally we have a winner in the search for my husbands 'signature' scent. after driving me nuts going through sample after sample he finally has found one! a beautiful cologne, very manly and refined; for a man who is noble and gentle, strong yet compassionate.....but doesn't need to tell you! he loves it and i do too...very sexy yet not overpowering.
