Colonia Intensa Oud Eau de Cologne Concentree Fragrance Reviews

Hands down.... I'm done searching, I do not need any other perfumes in my life. I will still use Chanel Allure Sport on those more casual days but seriously I can grow old using these 2 scents for the rest of my days.
After trying out AdP Colonia Oud in department stores for months and asking for samples ( managed to get 3 so far ) i finally opened up my wallet and bought a bottle while in France over the weekend. A 100 ml bottle costs 10 Euros less in France that it does back home in Germany so it felt like a bargain :)
Seriously, I think this is the most amazing perfume I ever tried. Hyper fresh and realistic citrus with a deep and warm oud and hints of leather. Its mysterious, sensual, classy and still very fresh. It scents high quality. There is no rose here like in most ouds. I have been trying out many of the ouds on the market, even bought a bottle of Versace Oud Noir but nothing is close to AdP Colonia Oud. It is simply magnificent. Other ouds are imo eighter to smoky, to sweet or to heavy. Most of them smell of roses and I do not like it. But this one is just something else.
I see that many reviews compare this one to TF Oud Wood. But I think they don't even come close. Yes, oud is the main player in both but TF is heavy and warm while AdP is warm and fresh.

Longevity is enormous, lasts all day. Be careful when applying, very little goes a long way.

Great in summer for a white shirt with rolled up sleeves as well as a thin wool sweater during winter.

Regardless to the rather high pricetag this masterpiece is worth every cent.
But do not blind buy, must be tested out first.
Chris says here below that he finds rose to be very dominant. Interesting how our senses work. No matter how much i sniff i get no rose here.

I don't know if it's my skin or my nose but to me, rose is VERY dominant in this.
This is a light pink rose but it's like 70% of the fragrance on me, with the other 30% being a mixture of the other notes in the background.

Finally an Oud that one can wear all year long! If new to the hobby of perfumery or just wanting a good signature scent I would highly reccomend getting this! After wearing it for the first time I'm speculating a possible reform as the first time I wore this it dried down to a over sweetend dark scent. Now it seem lighter and more woodsy, could of been a off batch too. Anyways, I caked a few sprays on a saks the other day and it lasted all day long and was a great fragrance. Smells very very good: no medicinal Oud, not overly done or complex and not the harsh Oud that some fragrances portray. This is a great fragrance and I think it deserves lots more attention to it.

I searched for an OUD fragrance for the last 2 months. My first one was ADP Oud, but i continued walking the path for more. Tom Ford, Vesace, YSL, Dior, Maison Francis Kurkdjian and many others. By the end I was overwhelmed. All I wanted was something light, sexy, with great longevity and light sillage. I love oud but I'm not ready for the heavy, mature, and lonely one yet. All in all, everything I wanted was on ADP Oud. Longevity is over 16 hrs on me. BEST

Acqua di Parma Light-Rose Oud.

I'm surprised the notes don't mention rose when it's so prominent, at least to my curious non-professional nose. It strikes me as a light-colored pink rose though, and not a rich deep red one. Also, the refreshing side of this fragrance didn't make it work so well during the winter months. I had better luck in warmer climate.

This is wonderful, but if you want an affordable alternative, try Oud Zaidan by Ajmal. I blind bought it on eBay for £12. Nothing on Fragrantica, no obvious website, so it really was a gamble, but I liked the descriptions given by sellers on eBay. An inexpensive "win" on the blind buy roulette table :-)

The opening was far too strong for my liking. I got an initial burst of Oud, citrus accords and something herbaceous which made me feel slightly nauseous. After approximately 2 hours the citrus notes disappeared and some musk settled in - that was nice - the dry-down was a smooth and sensual oud, musk and leather concoction that was very alluring. Longevity is second to none: sprayed it on around 17:00 and it's still going strong now at 01:52. I wouldn't purchase it because the opening is too harsh and lasts too long on my skin. Overall, it's a decent oud but nothing spectacular.

Cologne Intense Oud, is not a conventional and classic Middle Eastern Oud wood, dirty, floral and balsamic aspects but rather a leather-oud soap which also can be seen that sense of many Italian fragrances to give that feeling to go clean and neat.

Do not get that effect must have a good fragrance Oud, since for it is worth very synthetic chords and somewhat artificial soap attached to this aspect to Essenza as not paste on a Oud, losing much and failing to find within the specific aspects of this essence and that sense of naturalness that has this wood seems to me a search of the most fascinating by the rich nuances offered, and even a synthetic way you can offer better fragrances this even at a much lower price.

Out of this aspect, the fragrance is not bad, the balance is there and it is good also the projection is also very good, but those chords as soap in such synthetic oud not really know what it is, do not offer a good Odour end result and that is vital to qualify well to a good fragrance.

This manly scent is an acquired taste, but one that is worth acquiring.

There are only a handful of scents whose openings I enjoy. Whether it's my body chemistry or taste or combination of the two, I don't know? So, I take it as par for the course that I will dislike the opening.

Colonia Intensa Oud is no exception: the opening is foul. The combination of ingredients produce a pungent flowery, rose, shampoo smell that is reminiscent of the oldest of old women. Not that I dislike old women, I don't, it's just not my vibe, is all. I can't abide rose in a perfume and although it's never listed as an ingredient for Colonia Intensa Oud, that's all I get for the start.

After half an hour has passed a new aromatic presence starts to overwhelm. It smells as though it's the 80s and I have mixed Denim and Aramis together and added them to the rose to create one of the nastiest concoctions known to man!

An hour, or so, after initial application and the good times begin. The flowery rose becomes a distant memory and the Denim/Aramis battle resolves itself into something quite exquisite. The aromatics settle down and I get a sweet earthy musk with hints of coffee, sandalwood and burnt tyres.

I find it quite hard to pinpoint specific individual notes as the blend is quite masterful, it's very much an olfactory chord. And this harmonious union just keeps getting better and better for the length of its life.

Fragrances tend to last long and project strongly on me. This one goes against the grain; I get about 5-6 hours of moderate projection. I also have to factor in applying it an hour before going out to avoid the unpleasant start.

In its pomp, Colonia Intensa Oud is highly masculine, it's a heavy hitting businessman wearing a tailored brown suit and a thick, heavy, gold wrist chain. It took me a while, but I've got to say: I dig.

Acqua di Parma's Colonia Oud does for Oud what Colonia Leather does for leather--softens the main ingredient by adding some citrus, making it more year-round-appropriate. Whereas the opening was a bit harsh, this dried down into something very similar to Colonia Leather. I don't get much of a sense of the other notes--it comes off as mainly a blend of citrus, a little neroli perhaps, and the main oud aspect.

Projection and longevity are slightly weaker for the "cologne concentree"--performance was somewhat better on Colonia Leather---so the value is lost somewhat.

This rounds out the concentree trio for me, and it's a very strong group overall. It might be worth trying Colonia Oud on one arm and Colonia Leather on the other, since they end up drying down similarly. Definitely a good exploration by Acqua di Parma---Oud, Leather, and Ambra are each worth trying.

Hummmm.
How to say this....
I loved the scent for the first 2 hours.
After that, I could smell roses (not listed here as one of the notes).
For me the roses took an overwhelming turn that reminded me of my grandma.
Personally I dislike roses.
The oud is very very dry and harsh.
Sillage is powerful and lasts for and entire day.
It is a great scent (not for me).
I'm 40 years old and made me feel "older".
Bought it and returned it.
I'm more a chypre - citrus scents.
Scent: very elegant.
Sillage: powerful enormous.
Longevity: Very long lasting

Smells pure quality! It is very unique and sharp I would say since I haven't smelled anything similar to this. The oud is definitely there but it is rather very soft. The leather is really heavy and I also notice a kind of soapy/minty note in this. Try it before you pay 200 dollars for a bottle!!

I generously spayed this on myself approx. 5 hours ago while in a department store... woah! As already mentioned it's a heavy-hitter in terms of sillage. You don't need more than two sprays.

Not sure what to think tbh. It's got a new leather shoe smell, but it's much much sweeter than AdP Colonia Leather (which is a very odd scent). So sweet in fact that, combined with its powerful sillage, it's often sickly and nauseating. I'd suggest not getting blind drunk with this on as you will be put off it forever with a hangover. Somebody mentioned YSL Les Nuit D'Homme which I personally despise due to its sweetness, but I can definitely see the comparison. However it's much more complex than that and doesn't have an astronomically high dominant note, instead, like a creme brûlée, if you crack through the nostril-burning intensity, you're rewarded with a deep, creamy, wood/leather scent that projects a modern gentlemanly class.

I'm not so sure whether this 'suits' me personally, and I may need to test it again with less on me. However I may go on to buy the 50ml bottle as it's definitely quality.

I Have Waited A Long Time To Review This One!

This is a well balanced Oud. By that I mean that it doesn't lean to heavily on the Oud to define itself as a fragrance. I could honestly enjoy this as a room spray or a cologne it lingers in a very stately yet subtle way. The top notes of Citrus and Coriander rest atop the shoulders of Oud and Leather in such a way that it says "Hey, I'm here. You know I'm here, but I'm not here to bother anybody". Its friendly but not oppressive. A good starter for those that would like to get into the Oud's but are unsure.

I'm not sure if I can agree with those that have compared this to Tom Fords "Oud Wood" these two scents are too different despite the name and primary ingredient. Some have told me that the musk note is too much for their liking and I can understand that. Certain notes don't register the same with everybody.
What I will say is that these two fragrances differ greatly, though I am a greater fan of Acqua Di Parma. The scent resonates with me, its like one of those fragrances that I searched my whole life for. At the same time the Silage "Projection" of Oud Wood is higher. I guess you can just say that's because one is an EDP and the other is not. Yet I still love what it love. Acqua Di Parma, Colonia Intensa Oud.

UPDATE: THE MORE I WEAR IT THE MORE I LOVE IT!!! (09/17/15)

Fragrance: 8.5/10
Silage: 7.0/10
Longevity: 8.0/10

An interesting oud rendition. Very leathery, oily and quite sour at its heart. Starts with the usual blast of mellow rosy sweet oud note bordering on feminine which quickly gives way to almost Fahrenheitishly fierce leather, but never surrenders completely. Unfortunately I'm not sure they ultimately blend well together (even with the help of coriander as the obvious mediator). This frag definitely has got some character, but it's a split personality and while it's quite likeable on many levels, it just feels rather incoherent. Besides, I believe I get a bit of headache from it and I don't even know whether I should blame the rose (amyris) or leather for it, as both are the usual suspects.

I believe i tried to order intensa oud but perhaps just got colonia oud...but either way im sure its almost the same and for this scent i dont dislike it but i also dont have to have it. Its oud leather citrus very fresh and very masculine but has that bold oud smell i looked at this because its said to be better than TF OUD WOOD but i tend to disagree TF just does it for me its my favorite oud ive tried but this overall is a great must try, see perfume court and get a 1ml sample its worth a look but any men under 30 should probably think twice because this is very masculine/mature not a high school college scent.

Ok, time to review. This is the first Oud based Cologne that I own and have been using it got close to 9 months now. Verdict. Awesome. It wears nicely through the seasons. On its own, the scent is just captivating. Many women (from young to old) cannot but get caught in its note. I do not personally find it overpowering compared to Oud oil which I occasionally layer over. It works well with several of the By Killian perfumes which I have been experimenting with over the last month.

Verdict: Get yourself a bottle.

Got a free sample of this (they are super generous with samples as a company, not like other stingy brands). For me this is overpowering to the point of nausea. I like some oud scents, especially the Tom Ford series and M7, but this made me feel sick. It does last a hell of a long time though! Almost impossible to wash off, took me several attempts to scrub off with hot water and soap and could still smell it strongly.

I was given a tester of this by a male friend that hated it, tried it myself, yes its strong and very masculine but there was something I kinda liked about it, I already had a roll on perfume by crown perfumes, red roses, so I put some of this on my wrist then added a small spray of the oud, just loved the result, so much that I ordered a 5ml size in a lovely little bottle and box from eBay,£14.99, OK it's only 5ml but this stuff is expensive, the resulting smell lasts all day and people have asked me what perfume I'm using , going to save my combo for nights out , should last me all through the autumn and winter.has anybody out there tried this with anything else.

I like the odor profile of this, but it's just oddly flat. Hard to explain to someone who hasn't smelled it. I guess the best comparison I can make is extremely flat soda.

The flat texture ruins what could otherwise be a really nice scent. I've found that 777 2022 Homme has a similar odor profile but the sparkle and effervescence that is missing here. 2022 Homme is the much better juice imo, although much pricier per mL.

I was really captivated by this scent when I sampled it at the fragrance counter. I purchased the largest size possible (6oz.) because according to the fragrance store's sales pitch, "you receive almost double the quantity ($276, 6oz.) for only $56 more compared to the smaller size ($220, 3.4oz)." They usually say the same thing about other expensive fragrances at most department stores. Anyway, I wore the Acqua di Parma Oud Concentrée comfortably for about an hour; then the Oud wore me for the rest of the day until I would no longer budge to its extremely intense sillage. I'm not sure what "concentrée" means, but if I guessed, I'd think "super-concentrated". The fragrance somewhat burned my sinuses after wearing it for several hours. Perhaps I sprayed too much on until it became triple concentrated? Either way, I knew that 6oz, even with it's fantastic "discount" for double the quality, would last several lifetimes. I could either keep it to use as an alternative to mace for self-defense, or I could return it to the store. I did the latter option. Also, one other note, the Oud is packaged really nicely, probably the most luxurious parfum box/packaging I've seen.

I recently sampled the new Acqua de Parma "Ambre" fragrance and it seems more tame than Oud. I would recommend for those interested in Acqua di Parma's Oud to first try and obtain a free sample, use only one or two sprays (or only one-half of a spray), and notice whether or not you can tolerate the sillage and intensity before you make the purchase. I didn't hate this fragrance, it was just too intense.

Three levels to this: citrus top(mainly fresh bergamot), resinous dark oud, and a hint of leather(like Tuscan leather). This is some pretty awesome juice. The oud is so intense that if you take a really deep sniff, it will burn the nostrils. It's definetely full bottle worthy and on my list for future purchase.

Edit: once the oud and leather wear off, it smells a bit like YSL l'homme with the citrus.

This is some magical juice.

Ok, so I own this and heard a few people say that it smells like Oudy Woody by Surrati, a Saudi Arabian house who is known for middle eastern fragrances/oils and imitations. Not expecting much, I bought a 3ml bottle of Mukhallat Badar al Dahbi on eBay, which is the oil version of Oudy Woody, for $10 shipped from the UK. Wow, so these people weren't joking! The only difference is that the attar oil has a rose accord in the mid of the fragrance, but it is otherwise IDENTICAL. Frankly, it's shocking. The AdP version is just slightly heavier on the leather than the Surrati, but they're really really close.

Close enough to consider replacing my AdP? If I didn't think the AdP was the closest thing to fragrance perfection to my nose, I'd switch without thinking. But this AdP is my favorite male fragrance, period. Therefore, it's worth the cash for the real stuff in my view. If you really like this stuff, but aren't absolutely head over heels, then go for the Surrati for sure.

This is not a typical oud based fragrance.
If you're into dark, rich and bitter type of oud, you have to test this because it's not like that.
I have a friend which is into oud professionally and he has been tested different type of natural oud oils and he said this is more toward combodian oud which is very smooth and oily with slightly dark aura.

At the opening I can smell a smooth, mellow sweet and oily woody aroma along with some fresh notes and some floral notes. it's kind of hard to describe because it's strange and maybe mysterious, but very smooth and watery as well!
The sweetness is warm and smells like honey.

As time passes I can smell pretty the same scent but now less oily and woody and a little more sweet and floral (rosy).
When I smell this it reminds me of a good demon! something like a hell-hound that may look scary but actually it's charming and inoffensive!
Projection is average but longevity is good. I do get around 7-8 hours longevity out of this.
Good scent but not my type of oud!

A fresh take on oud. Sampled this in-store last weekend in Chicago with very positive first impressions and now can't wait to get a bottle. Kept my test strip and have been coming back for whiffs multiple times a day. Seriously impressive performance for a cologne concentree and it's agreeable this could be used as a year round oud. I'll have to test further once I have a bottle but I can easily see this being a 10/10 frag for me.

Italian view to Oud.

There are so many oud based fragrances are being lunched in 2014 and 2015. Acqua di Parma also followed the trend.

First of all, fragrance is Eau de Cologne but when you spray it on your skin, it is very oily. My opinion for this weird situation is, some of the raw ingredients oils they use in fragrances are more concentrated than other ingredients. Thickness of the ingredients make the oiliness of the fragrance higher.

Oud Intensa opens up with sharp citrus. There is also OUD. Big oud note is here for life time of the fragrance. Citrus stays with oud for 2-3 hours. When the citrus dies down, oud also gets close to skin and settles down. Very dry and quite.

I really didn't like the scent. Way they use the oud with citrus didn't do well together for my nose. Citrus is done wrong in my opinion. They shouldn't use citrus with oud as they didn't use citrus with their leather scent.

Performance is good. Lasted around 10 hours. But it didn't project very well. You can feel the scent but people won't. Projects well for 2 hours and projects close to body for another 2 hours. Later on, it is a skin scent.

I recently bought a ADP Colonia Intensa, loving the scent, but so disappointed about the longevity, it lasted for max 1 hour then all gone. So I decided to look around for another ADP, with awesome longevity, and I found this.

It's nothing like the Intensa, but it's really awesome! I just love the smell of the Oud, and the longevity is.. awesome at least.

Would really recomend this to people looking for gentleman scent.

Wearing this today for the very first time. Take my advice . Purchase a bottle of Oudy woody, priced now at about $30.00. This is it with no apologies. I have had and used Oudy woody for the last three years at least. This is a copy of Oudy woody and not vice versa. Way too overpriced.

I'm not an oud connoisseur -- far from it. The one time I smelled a "true" oud at Jamal Kazura in Singapore's Arab Street I found it offputting; maybe it wasn't a "good" oud, though I doubt the shopkeeper would put his stellar reputation at risk by stocking a substandard oil. I like Creed's Royal-Oud, though I've heard that it's a synthetic oud note and that it isn't comparable to a true oud perfume anyhow; I hate Bond's New York Oud (to me it somehow manages to smell like rotting daisies). But I love this AdP Colonia Oud. It's rich, sweet and woody, and lasts forever. I find myself smelling it JUST BECAUSE... and when I'm wearing another scent, I crave this one. Maybe that's a little crazy, but that's just how alluring this cologne is to me. I bought this together with their Colonia Leather: they're both excellent, but this one's the king.

For once, this is not the oud you smell on Middle-easterns tourists - and you're not going to be running into this scent very often. Thankfully so.
It's so unique, it's a split-personality masterpiece with a stallion performance. If you're gonna wear that make sure you've got the goods that go with it because you will definitely get noticed.

I tend to find oud rather unexciting when it's the dominating note (think Oud Wood). That's purely personal. But in this frag the citrus combined with the oud is what brings oomph to the composition. It's very unexpected.

This is a mind-blowing scent. It's radioactivity in a bottle!

I love this, it's beautiful on it's own or using a small amout in combination with another scent to oomph up other perfumes :-) Not just for men, I am a woman in her thirties and it is pure decadence - confidence and glamour in a bottle. Not for the faint hearted!

I'm betting that the majority of folks who found this frag unappealing simply didn't wade through the initial 10 minute phase. Once you're over that hump, this juice is truly magnificent. I'm not a huge Oud fan myself, but I do love THIS beautiful little beast.

When it comes to frags, I'm just as guilty as the next guy of climbing off the horse before it has left the gates. With this one, you've got to stay on the horse.

Changing your usual rose/oud combo to citrus/oud in Acqua di Parma way and doing it very well. This is a fresh aromatic oud of high quality blend.

The oud is dry and clean, not the stinky kind. In the opening, the citrus accord pops and, while losing it's power gradually, still lingers in the background for hours. There is something aromatic in there which elevates the scent and makes it unique. A few hours in and I get the clean musky base that adds some sweetness. AdP has made a strong scent that works in every season (regarding how many sprays you use) and goes to the more wearable side of the ouds.

ADP Colonia Intensa Oud - A different take on oud.

Colonia Intensa Oud is a very different rendition of oud, with a fresh yet heavy aspect to it. And by that, I mean more of a cool balmy scent.
Before trying this one out, I had a lot of curiosity about it as I knew it was an ADP release.
ADP as a house, is known for its fresh sparkly colognes and its variations on that theme; So, throwing an oud based scent into the mix made it a pandora's box for me.

Light, airy oud mixed with coriander, both sprinkled with some freshness, is what I get on my skin. The combination is pretty unique and well constructed and goes well on me.
In terms of performance, this one is beast mode. Lasts for ages, and literally refuses to die. Projection is also quite heavy and stays around for a good while.

However, I do not recommend a blind buy in this case, rather, it is a try before you buy kind of scent.

Respect for ADP, for stepping out of its comfort zone and trying something new, but at the same time maintaining its signature.

Thumbs up from me.

Oh my God, this is beautiful!!! I'm so glad I bought this elegance in a bottle, great fragrance!!! It is so syrupy, elegant, sour, bitter.. everything is so perfectly balanced! Great combination of oud, leather & citruses :) But, performances are just awful on me, I get 2, barely 3 hours of longevity, and projection is disaster, about 30 - 45 minutes.. :( :( :(

I agree with Sezyvex, I sprayed this at 9am, it's now 10.35 pm and it is still strong on me, I have had a huge headache all day, but I leathered it on, it is immensely overpowering. It goes through a stunning opening, to a revolting early drydown, which smells like sour gone off yoghurt, to a sublime sweet leathery base. What an interesting fragrance, the quality of the blend is obvious, I don't know when I'd wear this, have to be honest and say I'd opt for Crabtree and Evelyn's Oud over this one, just saying....

Well, it's not exactly what i expected it to be, since I imagined it would be a interpretation of their classic fragrance with a touch of oud. But, it's not bad at all, in fact i think that it's interesting in the way that it sounds familiar but it seems to have its own identity. The familiar part is due the Oud note, which i guess that for some is a pleasure and for others has already gone too far. It doesn't seem to be for me a nargamotha oud, but more a musky, slightly dirty one. I like that they opted for note going for the usual rose and saffron combination and instead put it on a leather context - this smells like rough leather scented with incense and tonka. I know that they don't list it but i get a noticeable almondy feel rounding the oud and leather that seems typical from this note. Also, there seems to be a very shy use of a minty incense thing that i find very good. And, the citrus and coriander seems to make the link with the classic colognes, you just take some moments to notice that the oud has mingled with them enhancing their sharp, medicinal side. I found it a very interesting fragrance, more balanced than i expected.

Due to the slightly bitter citrus and I guess the tonka bean, it made me think of Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme, the old school formula; a LOT less intense, yet similar because of the citrus / floral / leather mix. ADP Colonia Intensa Oud seems like a fresher version with a touch of oud, the real, medicinal oud, but keeping it fresh and not overpowering. I'm (still) a fan of oud and always a fan of leather, but at first, I wasn't completely won over with this fragrance, having been a virgin to the Acqua di Parma house up until now, but the more I wear it, more of the coriander and musk come out on me and I like it. Definitely can't judge this one too quickly because the finish is more complex and interesting than the start.

According to Acqua di Parma's website, besides Colonia Intensa Oud Eau de Cologne Concentree, there is also a Colonia Oud version and it was awarded first place in the “Best Men’s Niche Fragrance” category at the 25th International Award of Accademia Del Profumo in May 2014.

Direct quote from their site, "the fragrance opens with the purest essences of bergamot of Calabria and orange, a unique reference to the long-standing tradition of Colonia. This luminous start heralds a strongly assertive heart, where aromatic coriander blends with warm Amyris wood accents, developing through the magnetic notes of essential Agarwood oil. The fragrance continues with a surprising base, where the full and persistent character of sandal wood, the scent of leather and cedar wood, and patchouli meet clear and seducing musk notes, further valorizing the intense preciousness of Agarwood."

Now I wonder if Colonia Oud is the same as Colonia Intensa Oud. If not, is there anyone who has ever tried Colonia Oud? Is there much difference and it better? Should I get Colonia Oud if I already have Colonia Intensa Oud (that I love a lot)?

I look forward to hearing your inputs. Thank you!

I really don't see this as a daytime or summer scent. The leather and oud notes are so dominant you would get the stinkface on the beach. Great for cooler temps and nights. I am not a big leather fan but I do like this mixed with the oud. The citrus notes are very tame and don't exist beyond the first 30 minutes or so. Longevity is over 10 hours with great silage as well. If I were a big leather fan I would pick up a bottle but for now, my decant is good enough.

I don't know what to compare this to. It has that AdP DNA, but it also has a woodiness to it that is just lovely. If you can get this with the coffin case, that alone is worth the price tag. I find it has an almost sportiness to it, that many probably wouldn't want to agree with. It's definitely wearable. Isn't something you only can pull out on special occasion. An amazing new fragrance for men from a fragrance house that is > 100 years old.
It is masculine without being overpowering. Like any good cologne it adapts to the person's body chemistry, without becoming that person's body chemistry or masking it. In other words the scent does not smell the same on everyone and inversely it is not for everyone.
I hate patchouli, especially that cheap stuff some people slather on, but it is one of the (more subtle) scents in this and it is of course a good patchouli oil. It has nice musk, citrus, all of which add to masculinity and lightness.
It is original and sophisticated

It is fresh and persistent — persistent in a very good way — and exudes the sensuousness of agar wood (Oud), a prestigious ingredient typical of good Middle Eastern fragrances
It is a charismatic and intensely male scent with an exquisitely balanced composition.
Top notes are the lightness of citrus (orange and bergamot) blending with the warm and magnetic depth of agar wood (A persistent fragrance which arouse sensations of assertiveness, power and virility)
It blends with warm woody notes of Amyris (oil from sandalwood), coriander and agar wood which combine to create base notes of aromatic cedar wood, patchouli, including subtle hints of leather, sandalwood and musk.

I'm really surprised to see the Coriander all the way at the bottom of the vote pyramid. It is so strong to me, I see it as the dominant note along with Oud and Leather. Because I despise Cilantro/coriander I have very mixed feelings about this frag. Sophisticated yes, but not what I was expecting. I have a 10 ml decant so I'll continue testing but After 2 full wearings I'm still a bit ambivalent.
Update: Slowly but surely falling in love. I'm going to have to seriously consider buying a bottle. Really is one of a kind.

A great oud/citrus combo, quite unique and versatile for an oud based scent. I think the amyris note is a nice touch as well. Everything is well orchestrated from the freshness in the initial act leading up to a certain warmth and gentlemanly demeanour that begins to display midway through. The result is a classy and captivating fragrance appropriate for any occassion, any time of the year, day or night. I daresay it gives even the oft-cited versatility benchmark, Aventus, a run for its money in this category.

This was a blind buy online based on the reviews here and I don't regret it. I thank my fellow fragrantica members for once again being a wonderful source of feedback on scents that I don't have the pleasure of trying firsthand. That said, I do get a bit of the 'new shoes' vibe that some have detected as the fragrance develops. I don't mind it, but perhaps it'd be best to try this one out for yourself if you have the option before making the purchase. Some people seem not too keen on this fragrance on the whole, while others love it right out of the (shoe) box. I'm of the latter camp. The oud is handled very nicely here and blends well with the citrus notes in the opening, which according to the AdP site are orange and bergamot, revealing a smooth transition into the leather and musk in the drydown phase.

Now this may be a grower for some, as I found myself appreciating it more the longer I wore it. First wear was highly intriguing. I was teetering on the fence between love and a big question mark... but once I got accustomed to the slightly dry oud/amyris/coriander interplay it was a definite satisfaction. The second occassion was during a dinner at an upscale restaurant with a large group of friends and family, and not an hour into the meal I was already getting approval from the other diners.

It's classified as an Eau de Cologne concentree, but it outperforms some Eau de Parfums I have. The price tag may be steep, but based on the quality and versatility of this fragrance, coupled with fantastic longevity (12+ hours) and projection (2 sprays were enough to get people noticing), I believe it's well worth the price of admission.

I don't mean to make an already long review even longer, but I have to update my assessment. I'm loving this fragrance more and more with each wear. I'm also getting the "rose-y" note that others have mentioned, but I reckon this is a result of the oud combining with one or two of the other notes rather than an unlisted true rose note. In any case, it's masculine in its overall effect due to the woodsier undertones mingling with the citruses. It's truly a damn fine scent, and one of my new favourites. Mesmerizing and exhilarating.

Scent: 9.5/10
Longevity: 9.5/10
Projection/Sillage: 9.5/10

Overall: 9.5/10

One thing I can say about this fragrance is that isn't doesn't resemble anything I've smelled at least recently. The opening I don't care for bc it smells like those old skool number 2 pencils or the pencil shavings from a pencil when I was in jr high. The dry down is much more tolerable and pleasant to wear all year round at least for me its very versatile. Not a big oud fan although this is an oud you can definitely wear in warmer months.

RETAKE: This is a marvelous fragrance, the more I wear it the better and more refined it gets and I've gotten some unexpected compliments too very versatile for a year round wearings

Bought this at the weekend and have worn it twice. My initial review below is fairly accurate as to how I feel about this fragrance...in a nutshell it's great smelling. I was convinced to fork out on it by my girlfriend, she absolutely adored it and as such was very persuasive.
I will have to correct my playing down of the Oud element in my first review, this scent has Oud in abundance but it's not at all rough or full on it's soft and very long lasting. The mixture of amyris & coriander with oud is quite a dizzying, sickly combo which takes a bit of getting used to but when you do it's great.

The following review is really for my notes only, its very brief and leaves out a ton of details. Im just typing something that I remember each by. Im sure I will disrespect someones favorite fragrance too.

This one reminded me a lot of Bond No.9 New York Amber. Smells of new shoes to open then dries into a nice rose with a little oud.

it starts with a beautiful citrus opening followed soon by a woodsy ,agarwood and musky cloud that will tenderly envelop you in a soft, sexy, comfortable wellness cloud .indeed it's a great quality frag with strong longevity and average sillage on my skin ,undoubtedly less resinous and medicinal than montale black oud ,more unisex than the previous one .

Very fresh oud. Fresher than Creed's Royal Oud. Nice sillage, very good longevity. Elegent and versatile.

As the fresh AdP-DNA is always noticable, i would prefer wearing it on a sunny but cold winter day or on warm summer nights.

After falling in love with and possessing many ouds, I thought I was done. I was not interested in sampling another new oud because so many had been so well done (and the ones that were terrible left their mark as well). I should not have rushed to close the door on oud. I smelled Piguet Oud and liked it. It smelled of old things and memories. Right as I was about to leave with that scent in my head, A di P Oud was offered to me. Rarely is a perfume so magnificent that it takes your breath away. I was astounded. There is a deep freshness and the distinct bergamot. There is a well-rounded oud underneath it all, but the composition is so unusual and nuanced that it's hard to describe. For the price, it is an oud that can't be beat and even if someone is not an oud lover, or connoisseur, this will be a hit.

I am not impressed with this at all.I was expecting much complexity but what I get from this is just a creamier Oudy Woody by Surrati. This retails for £135 while Surrati's thicker and much longer lasting version is £30 online for a full 100ml bottle.

At best try and sample first before you commit or else you may be kicking yourself further into austerity. And I will most definitely not be wearing this in sweltering heat as the oud concentration here will not allow me to breathe

Given the lack of originality here it's a sure pass. You might like it so dont let me discourage you

My taste: Am in to fragrances like YSL Rive Gauche and Body Kouros, Farenheit, Creed Royal oud and GIT, Boucheron Jaipur Homme, Gucci pour homme 1, Armani prive oud royal. A very classy blend that doesn't shout out for an oud ..but confidently reveals its presence respectfully.. very calm and warm on me after a few minutes. An underdog and a dark horse imo! Longevity/sillage/ projection perfect. Smells expensive to me and is obviously but you get what you pay for. I am over the strong oud oils so this now for me is just right and never tiring!! 10/10

Wow !!

For lovers of a subtle warm & fresh oud, get yourself a sample soon!!!
This has a jolly, yet utterly sophisticated zest.
Beautiful oud (very easy on the nose), supported by silky musk, bright citruses and coriander, yum!
The leather is deeply buried, I hardly get any.
At last an Acqua di Parma that is not fleeting at all.
AdP CIOEdCC gives me the courage to engage in life on a difficult monday morning.

Hallelujah!

This flagrance combines the best of two worlds. You never want a flagrance to fade quickly so you have to reapply. But you also dont want to come in a room and let everybody think: there's the parfumboy. I have some flagrances that smell great but have poor longevity. But I have also some powerhouses that can knock somebody down in the first few hours...Colonia Intensa Oud is great because I can still smel it six hours after I sprayed it. And it is still as elegant and beautifull as in the first minutes that I started wearing it. Great longevity with the perfect sillage. And most important: a great and very versatile smell. For work, going out..I am wearing it now in the fall, but i could see myself wearing this also on a evening in the summer.

I've tried several oud fragrances in the past few years (TF Oud Wood, Creed Royal Oud, Ferrari Essence Oud and several Montale's), but this one has the weakest oud note to my nose. Maybe its because of the blend with the leather notes. Or maybe its the fizzy lemon-lime beverage top notes. But it's great as a combo. Unique for a fragrance, although it smells like something I've smelled before but can't quite put my finger on. Longevity and sillage are excellent - all day coverage without being overpowering. A winner.

For those who say, no longevity...you must have a medical issue, or octopus skin. I couldn't get this off me while Im laying in a hospital bed getting IV'ed after 3 hours. Like it was getting stronger and stronger. This was the FIRST OUD experience I had at Neimanns and waited til this week to pull the trigga. My problem is...it's too strong, even after a baby spray, so I'm trying to find a frag to calm it down!!!

So far candidates on my arms and knees are: Mandorlo di Sicilia, Black Orchid, Chanel AHEB, and Terre dHermes. My nose can't take the initial blast. I'm a nooby but KNEW I needed something different...OUD was my choice over Amber or Vetiver right now. I OWN M7 Oud Absolute, samples and decants of MFK Oud, Velvet, Cashmere, Silk Moods, TF Oud Wood and coming from Kuwait..Ameer Al Oudh.

OUD is pushing me to Ambers all of a sudden. I can't take Tuscan Leather (DIRT) smell, Someone came into NMarcus and said it smelled like Cocaine. I don't get the Citrus, thats why I'm layering. Mandorlo Vanilla is winning so far. 8 1/2 outta ten for me....due to strength and sillage and PRESENTATION!! TF needs to step up. Still on my neck since 11am, and it's 6 NOW...DRY SKIN....no unscented lotion needed...OR maybe I should???

Sometimes names can be a bit deceptive but lets get it straight...If you're looking for a powerful woody, Oud centric fragrance, look elsewhere.
I like the smell of Oud and it is strangely intoxicating but I don't know what all the fuss is about really?
It's down to taste and what you look for.
Is it the notes that surround Oud that give a fragrance it's character or is it vice versa?
Well it depends...
This is typical of an ADP Cologne, stylish, classic citrus in the top and wonderfully fresh feel with nice, gentle Oud in the base.
So some pretty special juice and shouldn't be judged on the name because it doesn't deliver masses of Oud, it's great fragrance.

A very unique and interesting mix of citrus and oud. It opens as many Acqua di Parma fragrances do with a burst of citrus (I detect bergamot and orange). Things evolve and you begin to notice the medicinal oud from the heart mixed with spicy Russian coriander and warm amyris wood (I'm beginning to become a huge fan of amyris notes). I believe it is here in the heart that this fragrance truly shines. The inclusion of leather notes, cedar, patchouli, sandalwood and musk in the base is rather subtle to my nose, but all add more complexity to the scent. Would make a great masculine fragrance for the cooler months. (89)

Today I put Tom Ford Tuscan Leather on one arm and ADP Oud on the other.

The ADP Oud is slightly more noticeable but IMO is a really lightweight oud. I guess it goes with the "fresh" image that the ADP line is known for. I do think it is a pleasant scent although quite tame. If someone new to oud fell in love with this they would have a HUGE wake up call when smelling other oud fragrances.

Unlike most of the ADP line this seems to be more durable. It is labeled INTENSA which means to me a decent EDT strength and that's just what I am getting from it.

Nothing to rave about IMO.

I don't usually do reviews but for this one, I have to comment that it's one of the longest lasting fragrances that I have ever tried. I have to wonder if people become anosmic to part of it after a while if they claim that it does not last.

Otherwise, it starts with AdP citric DNA and then the synthetic oud rears it's head. The rose from the AdP DNA combines for a short while to give a familiar rose/oud accord but that disappears all too soon. Soon after comes a woody, leather like ambience that ultimately adds some musk. Interestingly, the AdP citrus, rose freshness seems to come back and rest on top of the woody musk and it stays that way for a very long while. Ultimately, it becomes quite woody with leathery goodness remaining and if I strain, I can detect some more musk. Two showers and multiple scrubbings later, I still have to go without fragrance for a day because remnants of this remain on my skin. Two thumbs up for tenacity. I feel that I got value for my money. Otherwise, a hearty recommendation for a fresh take on the oud bandwagon.

A "maybe": I only got robust tanned leather in the dry down, which isn't necessarily bad. Better than the squint enforced by the clash of citrus and leather/oud at the opening. Give it another try? Never thought oud could be coy! Good longevity!

I just heard about this fragrance and a friend from the fragrance community sent me 10 mils of this juice in a decant, and very seldom i get wow ed by a fragrance, this juice did just that

The opening isa fresh citrus blast with the acqua di parma dna, sweet, fresh and a smoky oud, remind it me of Creed Royal Aoud which i own, but this blows it away.

I was heading to the airport and put on 5 sprays at 6 in the afternoon, got back around 3 in the morning and it was still projecting off of my skin, its a beast in projection and longevity and you will get noticed, this is by far Acqua de Parma most potent juice, highly recommended for night out, you will get noticed without a doubt, just purchased a bottle and its on it way, i give it a 10 out of 10 nuff said..

Probably doesn't contain real oud, but as a guy who usually has a problem with oud fragrances, I enjoy this one a lot. It's a solid, attractive fragrance with a fizzy, coca-cola kind of vibe (slightly syrupy), and of course an excellent pairing with a sleek, vinyl-style leather (think Tom of Finland). Lasts quite a while but never feels overpowering. Acqua di Parma has a penchant for making lightweight fragrances, despite how strong they may seem.

I'll probably buy a bottle of this eventually, because I need a solid woody-oriental that won't make me feel weighed down.

I have several oud fragrances in my collection including Creed. I love the Creed but Acqua di Parma has them all beat. This is a beautiful fragrance of citrus and wood smoke. I sprayed my cap last week and it is still there going strong. I can't believe the staying power of the oud. They did not hold back on the essential oils here. Well worth the money. Good job Acqua di Parma!

I wasn't immediately impressed with this upon a spraying on a card - too feminine, too floral, not woodsy enough - but some hours later it smells quite nice.

However... having tried this, the Tom Ford oud, the Jo Malone oud and the Creed oud, I still like Creed Royal Oud the best.

Okay so I have been playing and layering. This is my new favorite oud. I like it better then Tom Fords oud wood or many of the others ive sampled. Today I layered it with the over done trendy fragrance A*Men Angel. Not the regular Angel but the one that was supposedly aged in a vat of leather for five years. A*men Cuir. The combo was very sweet and long lasting. I almost received as many compliments as when I wear Sycomore & Coromandel together. So it projects! Let me tell you. Plus I loved smelling myself everywhere. At the gym, tanning, swimming lessons. I got out of the pool and guess what. I could still smell it. I topped it off with some "Leather N10Z" by Intense, and I am now laying in bed about to drift into dreamland with my muscles smelling like a big Arabic chocolate bar.

A quality fragrance from the house of Acqua Di Parma. Although Oud is not my favorite note, it is a well done fragrance. Impressed with this? No. There is obviously the big splash of oud, with some powder and woods laying in the background. Not my favorite from Acqua Di Parma. Try it.

My take ? Exceptional...I wore it today as a matter of fact and my wife was at first "I like it but then I don't..." and then later on she came up to me and told me she loves it ! So, I got the "ok" from the wifey...Its a fantastic oud fragrance that has this really cool oud/woodsy/burnt/leather flavor to it...its hard to explain but I definitely pick up some burnt scents....And I love it...There were two extremely gorgeous girls at Neiman Marcus who helped me with my purchase and they went ga-ga over this fragrance....They were not product specialist for any particular house or biased to any particular brand so I felt (at least in my mind) that they weren't telling a fib...You have to try this one...Its TOTALLY different than MFK's oud...both are well-deserving and both are simply amazing...

I really like this one.
IMO it is a cross between Montale Black Aoud and Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Oud.
If you the like the Montale, but find Black Aoud too strong, this one will suit you.
If you like MFK's Oud, but don't like the price tag, here is a cheaper, but equally as good (maybe a bit better) option.

**EDIT**
OK, been wearing this for a day now, still love it.
The dry down of this fragrance is like Armani Privé Royal Oud.

Lovely stuff, a beautiful citrus opening followed later by a lovely oud. Excellent longevity, for an eau de cologne. AdP wants it to be exclusive, so it isn't sold everywhere. Major let-down is the price: 160 euros for a 100 ml bottle. Too exclusive for my wallet.

This new scent by ADP is divine! The top notes are characterized by ADPs signature citrus notes which evoke the beginning of a new world of eclectic scents which begin with a clean and fresh scent drawn into a seductive warmth of oils of Morroco and the deep woodsy scent of Oud. As the hearts dry down you embark once again into the soft and playful scent which is reminiscent of soften rose water.

I smelled this new fragrance twice today. First at the AdP counter at la Rinascente and then at the AdP store in Via Montenapoleone.

The Rinascente counter was mobbed by a large family of wealthy oriental foreigners who were all gushing about it and who bought a bottle.

The AdP store was liberally spraying the scent into the street hoping to attract customers. A well-dressed lady walked into the fragrance cloud and immediately started coughing like crazy.

I think the Oud EdCC is a well-done fragrance who most definitely will sell very well. Its combination of light/fresh elements with woodsy/resinous elements is much better executed than MFK's Oud.

Very lovely light oud, like Robert Piguet Oud mixed with Byredo Oud Immortel. No flowery (rose) additions but no heavy oud accords either. Very Nice! I don't get any leather note but this is beautiful anyway. Longevity is not super great, but still, I think worth the price! After about 5 hours it sits pretty close to the skin, but still very noticeable.
