Liquid Crystal Agonist for women and men

This truly is a unique fragrance for the adventure seeker! Upon application the lavander and bergamot are very up front, a lovely, clean, natural lavendar, followed up by a fresh, bracing herbal wash that gives almost a sensation of coolness. The praline note is very quiet. It stays in the background and sings with the immortelle to provide a slight underlying sweetness, with a touch of floral and light spice, that keep the composition from becoming too dry and herbal, which to me would place it in the category of mediocrity, despite the art pieces it comes in. After about 20 minuites have passed, the only change is just a touch more sweetness, as the herbal players and dry vetiver are still going strong. Such a well crafted balance, this truly is a masterful fragrance! Being at first skeptical, i wanted to know if the fragrance is as special as the vessel, and indeed it is. It just gets better. There is a little of the vanillic soft and lightness of Creeds, Sublime Vanille here, but i would expect no less for this price range. This is not for everyone, but a wonderful olfactory experience nonetheless. Sadly, i am smitten, and will use my sample to the last drop, and perhaps purchase a decant while i admire the beautiful flacon from afar!

Another scent-crush! *swoon*

Having just sampled the handsome Baume du Doge I was suprised to find his sister, nestling on my other wrist. To find two stars in one day is a rare treat!

Liquid Crystal is like Baume's sweeter, softer, more huggable younger sister. Although they are not very much alike in notes, the overall feel & "flavour" is shared.

Whenever I walk past a lavender bush I always crush some leaves or flowers in my hand - heavenly! But, with perfumes, lavender can come in two forms: natural, pungent, high-thin, volatile & astringent; or warm, happy, flowery, imaginary English cottage garden. I truly dislike the latter lavender - luckily LC has the former.

Beneath the lavender-bergamot veil is a heart of warm, dry woods peppered with sweet & cosy edible delights & a spicey clove kick. Nothing too shouty or off-kilter here...very harmonious...raw woods with shamphered edges....a light powdery touch. Resins & amber, dry herbal notes, vettyver & pencil shavings...a very distant mild minty toothpaste....tonka & imortalle. This mid-stage is divine & lasts for HOURS *sigh*. In the dry-down I experience the familiar, warm-winter hug I crave in 114. This is bliss!

A lot of my favourite fragrances are deep, rich powerhouses that could pile on the calories with one sniff. LC looks like a 5000 calorie fatty but wears like a mid-weight, healthy treat. No nausia or sugar highs.

If there could be a catagory for thin, weightless, low-calorie, high quality woodsy-ambers with a quirky twist & a lot to say then LC would probably wear the crown. It is like meeting a very plain, fragile-looking girl only to find she purrs like Eartha Kitt & sings like Tarja Turunen.

The bottle looks incredible, too. True artistry. Bye-bye money....

This fragrance puts me in mind of a rich incense, say Nag Champa. Better yet, ever tried Comme des Garcons Series Luxe: Incense Champa? Yes. Quite.
Now,imagine a meadow full of blossoming lavender surrounded by fresh mown hay while the scent of fragrant wood is being chopped nearby. This is mainly that scent. The bergamont is barely introduced in the beginning before it is brushed aside by the lavender/woody notes. An astounding likeness to guaiac wood. Just a hint of sweetness tempered by oregeno rounds out this astounding scent making it worthy of the bottle that holds it. Wears close to the skin and silliage appears to be about 5 hours before I felt the need to reapply. Mind you I only applied a few drops to each wrist area and behind each ear. Lovely, just lovely. Can't wait to try
