I used to know a sweet woman who wore this scent on occasion. I was lucky enough to find a vegan imitation of this. It smells so much like the original!
The first word that comes into my mind is ZING! The zest of fresh tartness wakes up my heart and mind!
This perfume makes my mouth water,it is so delicious to me! I get so much tangy/juicy fruit, the limes, the oranges, the beautiful bergamot bursting into the air!
One moment this is tangy, then sweet, creamy vanilla swirled with fresh warm caramel treats! Then there is some spice and green earth of freesia blooms, green tone notes, and I think I sense the myrtle too. The exotic gardenia and tiare petals highten the creamy feel even more.
This perfume is smoky too, even into the dry down, and I know the alluring anise is lending her seductive hand.
It is just FABULOUS bu it is discontinued!?
love it so much.it's very special fragrance and sooooo sexy!!! wo0o0w....
it's one of the best perfumes ever!!
Desire by Dunhill is one of those blind purchases of mine, which turned out to be totally different to my expectations.
In a good way, I suppose.
I expected sweet caramel-licorice fragrance but what I got instead is a creamy floral with just a tiny pinch of sweetness.
The most prominent notes, to my nose, are lime, magnolia, musk and freesia, so not quite what you could expect from looking at notes. (hardly any caramel, vanilla or licorice)
I am not sure why ladies complain about the lasting power - to me it is great, Desire comes only as EDT yet it passed my overnight test and I get compliments when wearing it from both, women and men.
Brilliant fragrance for a hectic day in office as well as a party at the local pub with friends!
In a way, Desire makes a lovely multi-purpose fragrance, so to speak.
In my book, it scores 8/10.
Very well done.
Shame it is discontinued.
where can i get this dunhill-desire perfume..can anyone tell me
I have begun to miss this greatly as I miss a certain time in my life. It was a blind buy from TKMaxx and I couldn't have picked better if I'd trawled all the testers in all the shops!
This was one of the few vanillas I can wear and it was very good. I always got compliments on this and husband liked it (it's that smell of "cake"! :)It was very smooth and creamy and did not change much over time (personally I quite like scents that stay similar from the start to finish, I feel I know where I am..)
It had good longevity, and the bottle was a fab design too. The flip top silver lid felt expensive and the curved pink glass was very ergonomic for spraying. Wish I had kept the empty bottle :( I was trying to not be sentimental.
Gosh! I love it. A very special fragrance. Smells creamy and delicious in a sexy way. I like this perfume since its release and my first sniff but it was always hard to get and very expensive. Now I´ve dared me and bought a bottle for an affordable price. And I can´t get enough of it. If you love foody notes try this out. You will love it because it´s one of those few foody scents which doesn´t smell girlish.
I was a bit scared to try this at first because I associate the name Dunhill with cigarettes. I'm glad I got over it though because now I'm absolutely in love with this fragrance.
At first I smelled fresh citrus scented towelettes (like the ones you get on an aeroplane), most likely from the combination of myrtle and bergamot. Then the lime kicked in and gave it that characteristic 'creamy' sweet citrus. Fresh, earthy rosewood shavings and velvety flowers then set this off into a different dimension. I couldn't believe that so many of my favorite notes were right here just in the opening of this wonderful perfume.
Fresh, bittersweet, floral, smooth... oh. Ecstasy for me.
Then with a wink, the freshness settles down into a warm and complex veil with liquorice and woods at the forefront. Dry down is almost gourmand, but not quite.
The whole effect is like downing of shot of hard, bitingly aromatic liquor, then waiting to feel the sweet warmth snake all the way through your body.
The scent doesn't last too long as with most EDTs, but I still have to get me a bottle of this for whenever I need a good fix.
La sorella di Tocade di Rochas tolto dalla produzione ,anzi, tolti tutti due ormai....
This is the BEST women perfume ever made, so sexy, deep, seducing and some thing un expressable in it ::))))
I love this on gf and enjoy this more on her in romantic timings XDD
9/10
It's strong like i like my perfumes and it stays all day too bad i don't like the smell.
Well, it is to me a sort of average scent and the drydown on my skin is mostly vanilla. Doesn't last very long. I love the men's version though (not on myself though).
It is one of the very few perfumes that I bought second bottle when first gone.
It is very unique perfume, very rich one.
Has character though. Very greenish-sweet from the begining turning to rose-wood warm after first 20-30 minutes. I would call Desire more spicy than floral. Very
contemporary and stylish.
Desire is very intoxicating, a bit heavy and sweet perfume. The top notes are very sweet but soon balance well thanks to the green and lime notes. The base introduces more flowers still maintaing a bit of that green scent. Then follows sweetness of the rose. Finally caramel and the end makes this a more mellow and not so loud fragrance. It settles very nicely, lasting power is good. I would recommend this to anyone that likes sweet but not the typical bubble gum or cotton candy sweet. Desire is different and not so widely used which is why I like it.
Looooves it till the end! It almost like Paradiso/Inferno from Benetton but absolutely better.
I realize that it's quite strong for some girls but i find it just nice, fresh and positive scents.
The bad thing about this perfume is not long lasting enough.
I had it and enjoyed every drop, even if it's quite heavy and sweet. I smelt many flowers especially rose, spices and a warm drydown, very sensual and very feminine. I'm not sure I would re-purchase.
sweet and thick reminds me of magnetism and lolita lempicka. i don't notice anything aggressive about it. just sweets and a bit of flowers and spice.
I had it, But I gave it my mother because when the time passed, I Didn't like it!
I love this one - to me, its a fun, casual fragrance. I consider it more sweet than spicy, with a slightly woody (sandalwood) base. It reminds me of Jaipur Saphir, another love of mine.
Nice and fresh but unnoticeable on my skin. I cannot smell the caramel and the amber at all. I'd define it as fruity and somewhat spicy fragrance with green top notes.
Ich mag es. Es erinnert mich an Brausepulver.
Vielen anderen Leuten ist es aber viel zu süß.
I like it. It reminds me of effervescent powder. However, to many other people it is too sweet.
very strong and not for cute girls .Alfred dunhill is more better in perfumes for men more than women
Desire is a nice perfume, but not good enough to buy. I don't get spicy or aggressive at all. I actually find it nothing special or striking. It's mostly fruity, somewhat girly. It's not light, but it isn't strong either. I get a lot of the lime, licorice, caramel, and magnolia. It would be a nice summer fragrance.
very spicy and agressive, I dont like it at all.
