This is one of my favourate Amouage perfumes. I think it's totally different from my other oriental perfumes. It's fresh, but not light, it's rich like other Amouage perfumes. Somehow it's "different", no typical female smell. If I have it on, I like to put my wrist to my nose several times a day, to sniff it in. It makes me feel good, calm, clean, satisfied. Lasts long.

Purchased a sample, which I am testing today.
Interesting. Very unique. I keep smelling my wrist, but this is rather mysterious. Hard to define. Very rich and luscious. There are some notes which I am not familiar with. Maybe the caraway??
Very different from anything I have ever tried.
This might also work on men???
The lasting power is superb. Lasts a long time.
And, the dry down is really beautiful.
A classy and extraordinary composition.

My husband loves it.
He sees a rich woman in a fur coat. It projects money he says.
Money that comes in the family through generations.
So, class and sensuality..
Now he makes me feel like getting my self a decant at list.

I have tried it in the heat of the summer and did not like it
but now, in winter its wonderful. It seems like the colder it gets the better is the perfume.

This is the only perfume that I get jealous about when somebody else wears it.

Epic Woman is a perfect, creamy blend of roses, incense, cinnamon and oriental spices. I think Epic Woman really IS oriental and very precious along with it.
When I wear Epic Woman I feel noble and special as well (which is why I normally save it for special occsions). But I found out that the scent's got a soothing effect, too. I love to apply it before I go to bed - believe me, I sleep like a baby when I wear it.

If you think these two impressions are contrary to each other, let me explain: Epic Woman is full and rich but not loud (that would be Lyric Woman), it is precious (+ expensive...) but emphasizes the wearer's character. It is not a scent that showcases itself but is like made for the person who wears it. At least that is what I feel.

I admit the price is rather daunting but two sprays are enough for the whole day. So I don't know for how long a 50ml bottle will last out but it must be years!

I hadn't really bothered with this one before but as I'm having a painful day and wanted to cheer myself up I thought I'll put on some Amouage and grabbed for Epic Woman and I am so glad I did - I feel cheered immediately! Pure class, pure legend, pure elegance!

I am now enveloped in a warm, spicy, rosey, patchouli cashmere comfort blanket. I'm getting the pepper, the warmth of the cinnamon, the gentle rose and I especially love the patchouli as it is soft and gentle to my nose. This is a well crafted perfume - more so because it contains Jasmine and this usually turns soapy or uric on my skin and screams so loud that it drowns out everything else for me - but not here it just gently keeps it's seat along with everyone else!

Beautifully blended from high quality ingredients with a fantastic silage (leaves an amazing trail behind you mum - said my son) and great longevity .... which I 'do' expect at such a price!

Superb for early spring, autumn and winter but I would love to smell this on a hot day as I am sure the notes will be playing differently - I thought this may not be one for summer but lest I forget this perfume was made in Muscat and sold in Muscat - so I wait with trepidation to try this out in summer, knowing a dry desert is a far cry from humid London!

From the pamphlets handed out at the HQ in Oman this is the description of Epic Woman and although slightly OTT when I read it I realised that it does identify with the perfume............

............“This spicy oriental fragrance is inspired by the eternal legends of the ancient Silk Road from China to Arabia. In the mystical twilight with the desert wind blowing against her veil she follows the guiding light in search of the long lost aria. Beyond truth and immortality a Legend is born.”

An humongous spicy oriental that shares quite a few similarities with both Chanel's Egoiste and Bois Des Iles. Cinnamon and some sweet (almost candied) citrus on top joined by floral patterns and laying on an extremely solid ambery/vannilla base. Oud pairs off with rose but they are masterfully blended with the rest to never become overwhelming or even particularly detectable. Frankincense lurks in the back together with a subtle iris note remarking their presence and adding detailed refinements to this wonderful smelling nebula.

Overall, Epic Woman, is rich and opulent, bold and intense but at the same time very wearable. It strikes you like an embracing concoction where all the elements are perfectly blended together to create a smell that could be described as a velvet sphere. An unique solid body that's absolutely perfect in its smooth roundness.

It does great also on a man.

After a big odyssey I got my samples set from Luckyscent. The first sample I tried is Epic Woman.

The opening is very refreshing lightly spiced pink pepper with some sandalwood. At the moment I'd like to say this is an oriental woody fragrance, if I have to choose blindly between Rochas Absolu and Amouage Epic, maybe I cannot find the difference in the first moment:) . But after a few minutes Epic settles down to a creamy, earthy, warm , rich, elegant smell. Very smooth, no edges.I have Rochas Absolu in my collection, I really like to use it on cold winter days but it's just too much in the summer.Rochas Absolu more edgy than Amouages Epic.
I think this perfume perfecly works as a wintertime frag and could works on hot summer nights too. Very expensive smell, very well blended scent. Absolutely georgeous!

This is a winner for me---a strong contender for my evolving top 3 or signature fragrances list. I can detect every note mentioned in the description, with the exception of the geranium, but they are seamlessly interwoven. Goes on bright and fresh, but with hits of spice, unmistakably oriental, then dries down rich and opulent. Patchouli is there, but not dominant; on me, if the notes didn't state it was there, I might have doubted it. Mostly it contributes to the rondure of the oud and amber. The bright notes linger within the dry-down, but in a muted fashion as they are folded into the honeyed whole. Just enough presence to keep it interesting, lending complexity to this sensual fragrance...Like wrapping your skin in velvet scented with all good things. It shines with a little warmth, especially, whether the warmth of the sun or the kind that comes from within. This was my first sample from Amouage, and I look forward to trying my other samples from them. My only wish is that it had a bit more projection---anything this delicious merits a little sharing---but it's common for my skin to 'eat" scent, so others may have more luck in that area.

It is a very long lasting fragrance!
I took a shower and it was still quite noticable on my skin.
It's a very fresh, very green rose. After about 2 hours it became a very fresh green rose with other notes I can't identify.
I tried the Amouage Lyric and found that fragrance to be more refined, more "well rounded".
Epic, was an epic with many years, twists and turns around the rose garden.

I bought this perfume blindly and I just love it from the stunning imperial green bottle to the liquid inside, quality ingredients and masterful execution equal Epic and indeed it is. The only downside is the price and it is just very expensive but if I finished my bottle I will definitely buy another one.

I have tried Lyric Woman and Ubar and find that Epic is way better because it doesn't smell strange or old, it is cool and relaxing scent, I can't imagine my life without this perfume Epic Woman.

Wow, this is definitely an adult fragrance for a woman not a girl! I'm not crazy about the top notes, for me, the pepper really comes through. But the middle and base notes are absolutely gorgeous. I'm not sure what it is exactly I'm smelling but I want to spray it on my linens and clothes and smell it forever! Take me on a magic carpet ride Amouage!
Breathtakingly gorgeous!
On second sampling, I am enjoying the peppery opening. Very spicy, yet oh so wonderful. This perfume is divine.

(This review is for Eau de Perfume)

EPIC WOMAN is stunning, sophisticated, smooth and beautiful oriental. What impressed me the most about this perfume is how smooth and well it blended with my skin. I love oriental scents but most of them have strong, overpowering and overbearing character that is suitable only for special occasions. This one has all the character and vibrancy of the gorgeous oriental spicy floral but it does not overshadow me. When I wear it, it becomes an extension of who I am and it wears effortless while smells gorgeous.

It starts with a smooth wave of spices. Caraway, pink pepper, cumin and cinnamon are masterfully weaved with honey like sweetness. The rose in the heart notes is extremely smooth and divine. Patchouli does not contrast the rose but wraps around it like a smooth veil adding a bit of darkness. I have to say that patchouli is well-behaved and harmonious in this fragrance. It is not overshadowing other components but adding this deep and a bit dark earthy character. The base notes are gorgeous wood notes with a bit of vanilla. I cannot comment on oud in this fragrance as I have not tried many fragrances with oud yet but woods smell special and beautiful in this one.

EPIC WOMAN is like a beautiful Arabian night filled with dreams, heavenly scent of roses and warm breeze. It is like a gentle touch and kiss, so sensual and tender, the moment when you look into your lovers eyes and know that this love will last forever. This is definitely a sensual perfume but in a very deep and emotional rather than sexual way.

I know it is expensive but I will have to get a bottle one day. This one works miracles with my skin. The sillage and longevity are fantastic. I think it is worth every penny but I would definitely recommend sampling before buying as skin chemistry and personal preferences are different.
Octavian Coifan has an amazing review on his blog for this one. I highly recommend reading it.

I thought I liked this a lot initially (spiced tea) and am very glad I persisted with sampling it before committing to a FB. This opens with promise but, honestly, on me this deteriorates quite badly and becomes a bit of a dog's dinner. Shame. It has made me shy away from Amouage but I do plan to give them a second chance - maybe with Lyric.

Returning to the house of Amouage, I am delighted to be able to affirm that EPIC WOMAN really is an oriental perfume—and a nice one at that! This composition boasts a big dose of patchouli, for better or for worse. For this nose, it’s definitely for the better, serving as it does to impart the thick richness I look for in and have come even to expect from oriental perfumes. The patchouli here is chewy and clean, not dark and skanky at all, but let the wearer beware: this is essentially a patchouli perfume. The other oriental notes, including pepper, cumin, frankincense, and cinnamon, are all very light complements to the focal note: patchouli. The florals, too, serve to accent the patchouli, not the other way around.

On my skin, EPIC WOMAN does not comprise chapters but is a relatively linear composition. I like it a lot and would welcome with open wrists a gift of this perfume from a benefactor—whether anonymous or not! I recommend EPIC WOMAN to all and only patchouli lovers whose perfume budget permits such a fragrance, as they say, “rich in splendor and sophistication…made for the most special luxurious occasion.” As for everyone else, the cost is so prohibitive that you might consider investing your hard-earned cash in the purchase of ten recent patchouli perfumes scent unsniffed. There’s certainly no dearth, and you’re bound to find a couple that work…

You know, I keep trying this line to see what they'll do next but my patience is running a little thin.

This fragrance is a disaster of epic proportions. Bottom line: they issued it before it was finished. Mixing oud and incense can be OK, but it needs to be smooth, and here it is not.

How much not? Picture this scene: It's late at night and you're sitting comfortably in your lay-z-boy, preparing to watch a rerun of Happy Days. The show opens with the Fonz walking into the cafe, with his black leather jacket, tight blue jeans, and slicked backed hair. "Heyyy" he says, and every one claps. 'How cool is that!' we all think. This is how Oud and incense are supposed to wear.

Now assume that the network has fallen on hard times, and can't afford Henry Winkler's salary. So they swap him out for Pee Wee Herman. Not as polished. Not as cool. Not as good.

I think Amoauge needs to slow it down for a while and rethink their strategy; putting out one stinker after the other isn't going to build a long term fan base.

Well this is my second in the amouage series it's Epic Woman this one is more sweeter and more of a dominance of vanilla
and amber then the previous reviewed Lyric Woman with it's dry smoky and woodish nuances.
The opening has a nice menthol beginning
consisting of dark Oud and peppery Caraway dries quickly to a dry and grounded Cinnamon and the distant wisp
of pink pepper. the middle tones is more powdery with rose with it's velvety texture with tea with jasmine petals conjures tea gatherings in the Sheik's
dessert fort in a unnamed middle eastern
country where is dark and with diaphanous tent surrounding you and a ornate rug on the floor sit cross legged
drinking his tea.

I liked the drydown though it's not as scent catching like Lyric woman but still impressive the amber dominates the drydown making the other basenotes to dilute a bit the incense in Epic woman is not a strong like in Lyric but it's a nice wisp of it' patchouli for my senses is hard to detect if it's with Other notes but make a quiet interlude
and with the earthiness of orris makes it an grounded ending.

Although not as intoxicating for the senses like Lyric Woman but it's nice
in more of a sweet and Modest Sister
to Lyric,

I liked the exotic combination of agarwood, incense, patchouli, and cinnamon. I was not familiar with these notes, so when I tested it at the store I was very much impressed and went ahead and bought it. Now I am dissapointed thought because when I wear it I detect no flowers whatsover. And I am a big floral/oriental fan. On me Epic is all about the base notes, no flowers. I need some flowers in the juice! On me Epic is like a masculine fragrance. With this in mind I have asked my beau to try it on him, so maybe I can still enjoy Epic, but on him...

Update: I have tried to let this grow on me. I am getting used to it now, although all I get is woods and spices, with a strong pink pepper, patchouli, agarwood accord. Very unique and long-lasting though.

Although they list this one as a oriental floral, on my skin is all about the oriental side. It opens with a dark and roasted spice thing that makes me think of dark roasted coffee i think. When it starts to develop I detect something like a muted M7, maybe because of the agarwood. At the end, i can feel a rich and warm frankincense with another blast of spices, and at that part it reminds me of Nu edp from YSL. Great frag!

'Epic' has, to me, the strongest oudh content of any of the scents that I have bought so far (other than actual oudh oil). I find it both fascinating and addictive - maybe not a typical female fragrance but a lovely alternative to it's more floral housemates and with the same quality ingredients and construction that separate Amouge offerings from so much that is currently marketed as fragrance.

I wear Amouage Lyric Woman daily and just love its classy sophistication. In general, I'm very impressed by all the perfumes I've smelled from this line.

But Epic?

Barf-a-roni! I get an initial tea and spices burst, which I love, and then it INSTANTLY putrifies on my skin -- it seriously smells like a dumpster full of overripe, decaying durian fruit just sittin' there all sloppy and fallin' apart in the too-hot summer sun. Totally oppressive and rancid...pass!

Epic Woman is more like an oriental to me. It has a fresh sweet stat(in a mature and dark way incomparison with the commercial pop fresh sweet). I guess the freshness is from the pink pepper and cinnamon gives off sensual sweetness.

After the start, Epic Woman goes really oriental. I can rarely detect any jasmine, but only a trace of rose. I can smell something really woodsy and dry with some kind of herbal and spicy touch.

The dry down is like woods plus spiced-up vanilla. It has something sensual and comforting with nostalgic value in it.

Apply with a light hand.:-) a little bit can last a long time. Even though it may not have the projection like some of the commercial perfumes. Epic Woman is like a tamed hawk of yours, instead of a loud squaky parrot. If you like woodsy oriental with a tiny hint of floral, it's surely a good one to try on.
