Quick update - after smelling the superb drydown of this scent I have to admit that this is FAR better than Le Male, but still not worth that amount of bucks.

Well, in my opinion this is NEVER worth the 180 €'s for 50 ml EdP, as this is only a finer version of Le Male.
Nobody, believe me, nobody should pay that price for this scent. It is really a good scent - even if not my kind of stuff - but it smells really like the 95% twin of Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male. Ridicolously overprized!

expensive version of Cool Water by Davidoff mixed with a little Le Male by JPG. Not worth the money.

This is one that i keep coming to retest and see what a lot of people love and my result is always that i don`t get the reason. Reflection for me seems close in aura to Le Male, just only without the retro barber aura of its musks and without the sweet mint part. But, besides that, it`s a flat floral, of no particular interest, that starts with a pleasant aromatic spice aroma that burns off quickly, leaving a not interesting smell of unworked flowers over a unbalanced and thin woody base. It seems that it tries hard to be sexy and smell rich and ends being poor and forced. For me, it ties with Opus II on the category "What the hell where they thinking when charging us so high for this?".

Take Le Male and make it 100x better. That's Reflection.

Right after the 1º spray, we have in Reflection an explosion of a super sweet jasmine note. After 5 minutes the neroli starts to appear, but not a crude neroli, extremely herbal like in Bois Blond from Atelier Cologne. Here we have a slight sweet version of it, and that's it. This fragrance stays like that until the end without changing. Boring and without the standard quality of Amouage.

It is hard to say that I don't like this, because it is so mild and inoffensive. But it is too similar to Joop and Original Santal. It gives me the same vibe as those two and I am not a fan of either of them.

Reminds me of dryer sheets, or fabric softener...

I don't get any development here. It's inoffensive, but a bit too sweet, it actually feels a bit heavy and annoying after an hour. It does give a luxury kind of feel, there is quality, but still I say no. I don't get the refreshing part of this fragrance.

Reflection Man isn't as bad as other reviewers (e.g. Luca Turin) make it out to be, but I don't think it's great either. From the get-go is a strong neroli, lavender, and incense accord that kind of reminds me of a corn tortilla, just not as stinky. Granted, it's a starchy smell and also reminds me of Antidote by Viktor & Rolf, at times. This character sets the stage for the most of the fragrance (something I've noticed in most of the Amouage fragrances I've tried), with some synthetic woody amber thrown in the mix. It's very strong and long-lasting. Would I buy it? No. Is it worth the price? No. Is it bad? No, but it's nothing spectacular either. Although, I do think the bottle is beautiful.

Smells like a refined Le Male. If you like the overall vibe of Le Male, but don't like the harsh or synthetic notes you'll love this one. Considering Le Male is one of the most popular fragrances ever created and this is a vast improvement it's an instant purchase if you like or love Le Male. It's the most versatile and wearable fragrance out of the Amouage line. Might not be the most beautiful, but I also don't buy fragrances just to be glorified scent candles that I never wear.

I own a bottle of this some month ago. I think I used too many sprays, because I got a huge headache and it almost turned my stomach.. If you use this perfume correct, I think it will be wonderful. Used exaggerated, it can be a disaster. The trick is only two sprays. One under your shirt, and one spray on your fingertip and just dab it behind your ears or on your neck. It`s not a everyday fragrance, because you will probably get tierd of it. Use it in between, and you will discover this is a wonderful and totally unique fragrance. After sampling this fragrance lately, I am now ready to re-visit Reflection again!

No way! Reflection Man is unaffordably sweet on my skin, no pepper, no rosemary, no vetiver to my nose. It's just an horrible blast of sweet jasmine and something else I can't really distinguish. intrusive and sticky it gives me headache in a couple of minutes. It's not a "bad" fragrance I'd rather say it's a "really bad one" and from an over $250 scent I expect much more (much more)! This time you failed. The point is still the same: "This is real life, is anybody at Amouage connected?"

On my skin:
Top: Powdery, woody, floral-sweet-jasmine like scent. It comes out like a jet fuel rushing in the jet engine. Super duper powerful top opening. 4 hours.

Middle: the scent calms down, it turns into a popping up flowery, powdery, woody type of scent. 4 hours

Base: basically it slowly dies down until its fuel is all gone. 2 hours.

Okay.

So here's the thing.

This fragrance seems to be a hype. Its like one of the most talked about niche fragrance.

Yes it is unique. But seriously, it is not unique in my place.

This reminds me of my grandma's powdery, flowery make up stuff. U know, the stuff she puts on the mirror closet kind of thing. The sweet, woody, floral and a little incense type of feel.

It also reminds my of karma-sutra ambience type of scent. =p

So, it is a sex appeal to me. Kind of difficult to use this fragrance. But if you are out on a date, hanging out with GIRLS, this will be your arsenal XD.

It is a good fragrance.

But will I buy it?

....Don't think so.

I pitted this with an blind test.

A few stewardess as sample, my mom, my auntie, a cousin of mine.

Not many ppl like it on me They think it is flower, powdery and kind of feminine type of fragranc, and I don't look like the kind of guy to pull it off with.

When I told them about what it is and the price, they were like 'wow, does it worth that much? Doesn't seem to me'. Some say 'ow, it is like those indian people putting powders on themselves'.

The country I am in has no 4 seasons, so it is either hot or cold weather. This works very well on the cold times, night outs.

My rating (base on 5 stars)

Scent: 4 (okay so here's the thing, it is unique for 4 season nations because seriously, it is unique. But back here in Asia....=p).

Sillage: 5 (Incredible, 4 hours worth of cloud of scent on the top, 3 hours light dry down on middle notes ).

Time length: 4 (6-8 hours, which is good for a niche, you know, niches don't last long kind of stuff, but i bet there is something synthetic in it).

Occasion: 3 (kind of loud for work, but great for dates, with GIRLS).

Overall base on mathematics: 4/5

I think I can find something for my taste. But this is a try fragrance for sure. U all must try.

I LOOOOVE this one! Totally spring scent! Imagine a new biological beginning after winter and you get this one! Floral, sweet yes but also very fresh and well balanced...I even smell Mimosa although it is not listed as an ingredient. Probably the "youngest smelling" of the Amouage range.

Quite a bit waxy, jasmine, ylang-ylang, the exotic note, ...the whole fragrance smells like a sweet exotic flower or fruit. Also, I smell that Bazooka chewing gum note from back in the day that makes my saliva gland go, lol. A distinctively "wet" smelling fragrance: juicy, floral, rich, modern, sweet and a little pungent peppery.

A lighter oriental so an ideal daytime and great scent to get introduced to this extraordinary brand!

Nothing but love for this!

I will add this to my spring scent wardrobe as it is very uplifting! Think of it like a sip from a hot invigorating ginger tea!

I loathe how old perfume houses keep coming up with 'newer' versions... BUT... this is truly fantastic.

My fiance wears it (and i confess i often spray myself with the male fragrance as it is addictive to sniff)

Very fresh..yet also spicy. Not an old man smell at all! And i think it would deffinately be a unique present for someone you love!

This perfume is unusual, fresh, with spices and flowers. But my husband and me like the women's version more.
