i won't buy this, not even want to smell a tester because i consider the bottle is ugly.
Oh what a shame. This smelled so lovely but after about 20 minutes I got a headache, and felt so nauseous :-(
I did like the fragrance but I have to put this in the "dislike" category as it made me feel ill.
I want it!
Since I joined this site I had been very curious about Anna Sui´s perfumes, as they´re not avaiable in Brazil. Last week I luckly got two samples of this one and did enjoy it a lot!
It´s a very peppery fruity-floral which could be suitable for both women and men, imo.
Despite of beeing peppery, somehow it´s also fresh and would be perfect to wear on summer days.
Peony seems to be the main floral note here. I can also detect star anise, but quite well blended, almost hidden among the other notes. Actually, I think that´s the best way to use star anise on a fragrance, you can feel it but it´s not strongly dominant.
Overall, there´s something that smells foody, spicy, almost salty, and I think that it makes Ooh La Love a very interesting fragrance.
The only negative point is the bottle. I´m glad I had a chance to try it, otherwise I´d never guess it was so good, just because of that ghostly face... Well, who cares?
I hate to start off a review by saying that this scent is not as bad as I had feared, but that’s the truth in this case. I had a carded sample of Ooh La Love that had been sitting around for a very long time, but was put off from trying it because a) it’s a flanker; b) it’s almost certainly a generic fruity floral; c) the card has a picture of a creepy bald head on it with some sort of metal implant on the skull. I know, I shouldn’t be prejudiced by such things, but what can I say?
I was pleasantly surprised to find that DG-OLL is not as strong and in-your-face as I had expected, nor is it sickeningly sweet. It’s actually a pleasant enough citrus and marine/ozone composition a bit reminiscent of the old Herbal Essence shampoo, with a slight hint of red fruit jello and some clean musk. It’s fairly linear, it’s not wildly imaginative or original, but it’s easy and pleasant to wear. People on the bus would not give me funny looks if I were wearing this. In fact, for a drugstore perfume it’s not bad at all.
Anna Sui DOLLY GIRL OOH LA LA is a peppery floral with a warm, albeit somewhat nondescript drydown.
Although it was a bit tricky to document this experimentally, I am now prepared to stand by the following analogy of Anna Sui DOLLY GIRL and DOLLY GIRL OOH LA LOVE to a Victoria's Secret fragrance pair:
Dolly Girl:DG Ooh La Love::
Sexy Little Thing:SLT Noir
In each case, the original is a soapy fruity floral with a notable green apple note, while the follow-up is a peppery, red berry, slightly oriental fragrance.
I prefer the Victoria's Secret pair, but the Anna Sui pair is at about the same quality level. Wearable, likeable, suitable for most occasions, unlikely to offend. I was expecting a bit more excitement from Anna Sui, given the radically bizarre bottles, but what I found inside was, in each case, a relatively safe and tame juice.
I love Anna Sui's bottles, they are so unique and you can always tell they are from that brand.
First of all I want to say Teolinda
if you describe the smell of this perfume the way of described it I truly feel sorry for you. It's impossible to find this perfume anywhere, why do you think is it? Maybe because women like it!!!
This perfume is ABSOLUTELY HOWSOME !!!!
So fresh, clean, light, sexy.
I bought it for me just it try and
and anyone around me would complement me or asking what is the name of the perfume.
I have half of the bottle left and I have been searching for more to buy and it's simple out of stock
I think I know something about smells and perfumes and just want to say that this perfume is one of the best I used so far!!!!!
Love it!!!!!!!!!
Well, let´s say this is not a favourite of mine.
Starts out with a mix of pepper and flowers...really strong and unpleasant and if it wasn´t for the fact that I went out walking my dog I would have washed it off immidiately.
After two hours I noticed that the pepper was gone and I was left with some lily-of-the-valley-kind-of-flowers.
Six hours later this scent is in fact bearable...but is it worth almost a workday of pain? No!!
But if you want to give it a chance remember it´s longlasting and one spritz does all the work.
I like it. Cant find it - have 5 ml mini. And its so fresh and fruity. Very specificals notes of currant and peony.
When u do 1 splash - all its ok! Long lasting perfume.
