This aquatic fruity - floral fragrance is composed of Italian bergamot, cassis, wild rhubarb, orange and lotus.
It is available as 50 ml EDT.
The opening notes are fantastic...salty, summery, with just a tang of fruit. It really does evoke a dreamy seaside cottage on the Atlantic. Unfortunately, this stage lasts for less than 10 minutes, and then Sogni del Mare mutates into a fruit-scented-candle smell. Not a cheap candle, but definitely boring and not like anything natural. Utterly disappointing.
You know the song "Summer Breeze"? Whenever I catch a few notes of it by surprise, during the warm days of late spring, I get a chill of anticipation and nostalgic happiness: the happiness of the memory of summer happiness. And then I don't want to hear the song again until next spring.
A few notes of Sogni del mare have a similar effect on my mood. The fruity lotus blend triggers the memory of perfumes marketed as summery, and which I tend to sample in the warm months. These never end up being my favorites fragrances, but through association, they have crept into my mind's summer place.
Sogni del mare is sweeter, and less complicated than most fruited lotus perfumes I've tried. I get a fairly linear bergamot and rhubarb pie over watery lotus. I could swear there is another cloying floral in there. It has the uber sweetness of peony or magnolia. I don't detect even a hint of the (dreaded) cassis buds. They usually smell like cat pee to me. In fact, I don't detect any mid notes or base notes at all. This may account for the lack of longevity.
Like "Summer Breeze," Sogni del mare always brings a smile when it wafts my way, but its charm and freshness are fleeting. Too light and saccharine to go on the permanent playlist.
I don't have any trouble smelling this, but bergamot notes always work well on my skin. I get mostly the bergamot and orange with a little watery lotus in the background. I like it very much and I think it would work very well as a fresh summer fragrance.
Powdery soft floral. Rose isn't listed as a note, but this reminds me powerfully of Ombre Rose with a little cinnamon thrown in. It's not bad, but it's not terribly different or special. Although it's damning with faint praise,I have to call this one harmless. And I agree with Kterhark: It's very faint. I didn' t have as much trouble smelling it as she did, but it's almost shy. Not being a fan of powdery florals, this is not for me.
I got this as a mistaken gift but tried to see how it was. Well, I really didn´t like it (and I have a new full bottle with me). It was too strong for me and smelled just like a flower powdery perfume. And since I don´t like flower perfumes, I didn´t like this neither.
I didn´t smell any water of fresh in it.
I did something I've never done before with this- i dumped the entire sample on myself. Still, I could barely detect it, this is one of those scents i just can't smell.
But faintly, it is true to its name as a citrus, watery scent. Calling it a floral aquatic is very accurate.
"m sorry I can't say more about this scent, it was just to fleeting for me to get a feel for it. my favorte from this line is Absoluto, which is hte only one with any staying power.
