Near the tip of the Peninsula of Florida, where hurricanes ravage, the sun bakes and steam is visible as it rises from the ground after a downpour, the Botanical Garden of Fairchild exists - a lush, intoxicating perfume mimics the experience. For the wild child, chaotic, exciting, sensual, given in to the forces of nature.
Top notes: pandanus, tinctured tropical flowers
Middle notes: jasmine grandiflorum, sambac and ariculatum, white and gold champacas, ylang ylang
Base notes: seaweed, ambergris, smoked sea shells, oakmoss.
The perfume was introduced in 2006. Created by Anya McCoy.

Fairchild's warmth is like a beach on a sunny day - the heat is offset. It's more floral than oriental. The sweltering density of your average oriental is absent; this perfume can be enjoyed in the summer too.
Jasmine is the dominant flower for me. Rather than the sea, I smell a tang of smoke. Is it the toasted seashells, or is it an incense association from the champaca? Either way, the harmony of smoky with a quiet oakmoss is charming. I get a hint of earth, not dirty or mushroom, but something of the garden. (basenotes.net lists patchouli in the pyramid) There's also a sharp, vaguely woody note, perhaps the cedar that Sofiii smells.
Different notes seem prominent at different times, but the scent is a linear one. After 8+ hours it still smelled very much as it did at 1 minute, albeit softer. It has good longevity, spectacular for a natural perfume, and moderately good sillage.
Fairchild is beautiful: 5/5 stars for artistic interpretation.
It's also complex, balanced and well blended, with good longevity and sillage: 5/5 stars for technical merit.
Saltry sweet with a fresh forest smell(something like eucalyptus and cedar combo) is the opening of Fairchild smell like to me. It's weird in an unusual and really natural way.
Soon it gets warmer and sweeter, a little bit orange-y smelling. I can smell really really rounded, and relaxing ylang-ylang, and a tiny whif of jasmine comes and goes every now and then. It reminds me some nice floral oriented soothing summer home essential oil blend.
I had a hard time to get the seaweed and seashell scent, because the drydown is really similar to the drydown of Temple, also by Anya's Garden, but just much echo-y, and fresher, somehow reminds me of beach and sand, still with nice sweet aroma. Then all of a sudden, I've realised the beautiful echo-y sentimental feelings I've got from the dry-down is indeed the lovely seashell scent.
Don't be afraid of the sea-related notes, if you are not a fan of aquatic scent (me neither), Fairchild doesn't have any of the 'normal' commercial aquatic notes at all. Everything smell so natural and comfortale in this perfume. Worth trying!
Love the scent of sea shells. The deep scents of the ocean and the depth of some heat, sun, too. This is a magical scent. Ethereal, yet there is something primal about it. Raw and refined nature. Love. Love. Love.
Fairchild is honey-sweet, changeable scent with magnificent flowers, and very pleasant edible nuances, I like the scent of roasted shells!
