A bit vintage at application. Florals with a sweet candy like note. A bit spicy, a tinge smokey. Neither cloying nor loud. The spices and herbs are a bit camphoric but it still remains warmth and a sweetness through the middle. Drydown is as expected, warm and comforting. Expensive at $75 for a 3.5ml bottle which keeps me from buying it right away.
Temple starts with the most mouth-watering (literally!)orange scent which reminds me a lot of a type of concentrated orange powder which I loved when I was little, it's acidic, with the citrusy sourness, and I can't resist the uplifting, optimistic feelings.
Soon after the energetic zest of orange smell, Temple smells of warm well-blended, slightly sweet and spicy essential oil. It gives a similar vibe which those heart-warming Chai Tea can always offer.
I cannot really distinguish the middle notes and the drydown. The perfume just gets lighter and less spicy, all in a nice, a little bit grounding way.
Temple is a nice perfume, and since it’s a nature perfume, I can’t find anything unlikable, or make me feel nausea in it. However, the only con is, I often burn essential oils to scent my home, somehow temple smells more closer to essential oils you would love to use to warm up a cold day, and not really ‘perfume- like’ to me.
