Pink Sugar Sensual by Aquolina
For: women Designer: Aquolina Olfactive Group: Oriental VanillaTop notes of the fragrance introduce sweet-tart sparks of black currant, tangerine and bergamot, as an fresh-fruity overture to a heart composed of orange blossom, light nuances of pink jasmine petals and tiare flowers. Base notes seduce with sweetness of vanilla, black sugar and woody accords of sandalwood.
Advertising campaign is focused on seduction. A girl in seductive, black lingerie is lying on a pink sugary background. First fragrances of the collection, Aquolina Pink Sugar and Chocolovers were created to awake desire for sweet notes and childhood with their notes of liquorice, pink fruit and creamy chocolate, while the new fragrance, Pink Sugar Sensual, aims at a more mature generation of women who prefer seductive approach.

The packaging is cute, very girly, the same as the original with black stripes instead of pink. On first spray, I smell something that could only be described as bubblegum-ish, it's the same smell when you first spray Michael Kors Very Hollywood. The bubblegum starts to fade into something very flowery (and I can smell a very little bit of cotton candy. I think it should probably be classified as a floral fruity gourmand, not oriental vanilla.) A few minutes in, the perfume starts to smell very familiar to me, almost like Britney Spears Fantasy but not quite. I rack my brain trying to figure out where I have smelled this before, and then it hits me. It smells SO much like Paris Hilton Can Can, maybe just a little bit stronger. Out of all the notes listed here, I can only make out the vanilla and the sugar. By the way, one of the top notes in Can Can is black currant too. For the people who expect this to be like the original Pink Sugar, you will probably be disappointed; they only thing they share is they are both very sweet, sugary scents. Those who are expecting a sensual, sexy, sophisticated perfume (as it is being marketed as such) will be disappointed, there is really nothing sexy about it, it's more girly-sweetness. I strongly suspect Aquolina wanted to come out with a new perfume and attached the Pink Sugar name to this given that the original is so popular and sells well (unlike Blue Sugar and Chocolovers which have both been discontinued). It is not a bad smelling perfume, very sweet and will no doubt be very popular with teenagers and young women. The lasting power and sillage are okay, not quite as good as the original. I think that the original Pink Sugar is wonderful, one of the best things about it is that when it came out there was nothing else like it. I'm sorry but I can't say the same for Pink Sugar Sensual.
