A delightfully edgy Chypre, that is balanced and well formulated. This manages to harmonize a number of contrasting notes perfectly.There are citrus, floral and earthy tones all vying for dominance, yet they are held in check for the entire lifespan of the fragrance. The diversity of ingredients has lent the fragrance a rich herbal quality that is both beguiling and masculine.

The 900 Series has a lot of similarities with the legendary classic Aramis. Aramis added more citrusy ingredients to the 900 to decrease the sharp aroma and to render it in tune with the change of time and the change of taste of a newer generation.

It still has every bit of the elegance and class forborne by its more traditional sibling. When I tried it for the first time, I was pleased to find that the same traditional notes were still there, but with a citrusy twist.

Its long and lasting wear is still the same. I bought a 200ml EDT and diluted it with 500ml of 200 proof ethanol (Purest form of grain alcohol) so that I could use it generously as an aftershave without having to cause the eyes of all my colleagues at the office to tear. It still lasts all day long, and when I return home from the office, I can still discern the aroma; it is that strong.

My first encounter with the classic Aramis was in 1972, in Fort Worth, TX then, a Cow Town with its very famous “Texas Christian University.” I was in my first year undergraduate school.

I had to sacrifice a lot in terms of bypassing many, many lunches to buy a 240ml bottle of the legendary Aramis.
One Friday evening while on my way out to a discotheque, wearing a dark suit and driving a typical student's old clunker, I had to stop at a gas station to fill my tank.

As I was paying the cashier, a local young woman, noticing the dark suit and smelling the very strong Aramis fragrance I was wearing, chased me out the store.

Once she saw the sled I was filling up, she froze in her track, shocked; she looked at me from a distance and yelled in disbelief: "You don't know what to do with your money?"

So, a bit of an advice for anyone contemplating this classic fragrance, before you buy it, make sure that the car you are driving is a Mercedes, or BMW, or at least a Lexus. If you can't afford one of them, do yourself a great big favor and settle for “Eternity” by Calvin Klein.

my father had a bottle of this perfume and I still remember the air changed every time he sprayed it on him.it was very sharp.a blend of woody notes with lemon and herbal notes.
Aramis the ancient name which inclines the narcissism matches this cologne more than any other one by the house.
it's insolent,proud,manly and cool.
it remembers me party time at the summer in the middle of a garden.
my father don't use it any more.the bottle is in a drawer while there are still a bit left.so when I get a chance I test a little of it on my hand to feel the coolness & prestige.
traditional,but not ordinary at all.
unfortunately it's rare in markets todays.
