Decent bottle of juice - ian85 wrote an accurate review to my nose. I, too, got the LeMale-vibe, but not as rich. Very linear to me as well. I actually feel it is rather dilute. Tonka bean - decaf? ;-)
Seriously, though, this is not offensive or bad - I just don't understand all the hype and reviews transcending this fragrance's quality or originality into the stratosphere. Personally, I don't believe this is an aromatic fougere as I don't detect hardly any lavender at all. Oriental fougere...yes. I get the Tonka Bean, cinnamon, nutmeg and sandalwood. White musk is one of my favorite notes in fragrance (I look for it) as it offers warmth, but also cleanliness in a scent. This has it, but the sweet components on top make it hard to find. If it had a stronger vanilla finish, it would be considered an attempted knock-off, so Armand Basi, I think, went for a lifted white musk/light wood finish - nice, but it doesn't hold more than a skin scent. Pretty good stuff - I will throw in a "like" because it is decent juice.
In the realm of JPG Le Male (better than this) and a few other bottles that attempt to do the same - the one that stands out for me (especially for the price) is Jacomo de Jacomo Rouge! That is so much richer, complex and just plain deeper.
Armand Basi made a nice scent here - 6.5/10 and wearable year-round. But, I just feel there is something missing in depth.
Smells similar to Body Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent.
Not too bad, but not so great and very artificial! Some people say this one reminds them Le Mâle: I don't agree with this point of view! I think JPG is better, and perhap's it explains his succes! Armand Basi is sweeter and more linear: Tonka bean, tonka bean, and tonka bean Whereas I can smell a true evolution in JPG, from mint to vanilla and tonka bean, through lavender and cinnamon!
At the end, I don't like the plastic top of the bootle, very cheap.
SIMPLY STUNNING!
My mouth keeps watering and I am repeatedly sniffing my wrists like crazy when wearing this! What a fragrance!
Another blind buy, another success! These raving reviews were absolutely right - Armand Basi is a fantastic scent!
Cinnamon is extremely prominent and kind of dry - in a really good way, then the cardamon, nutmeg and tonka bean make it really oriental fougere with the woody touch of sweet sandalwood, cedar and guaiac wood. And all this lasts and lasts on my skin and does the trick. Wow!
This is for men with class and for women with good taste, as it can easily work as a UNISEX: being reasonably sweet and extremely sensual. It drives me crazy on my DH and he enjoys smelling it on me a lot! Ideal for colder days or romantic occassions in the evening :)
I think that it is much better than many top popular fragrances of more renown, also in terms of the price.
Perfection!
Good God! This is a great fougere oriental. Probably the best one I have ever smelled. This is similar to Perry Ellis White, Le Male, Jacome Rouge but in fact superior to all. This is sweet, soapy, spicy. This does last. I got the 125 ml bottle on discount and I am glad that I did. This will be my signature scent from now on. 10 out of 10. The juice in this bottle smells like heaven!
Armand Basi Homme has real class! Starts as a lovely fresh soapy, spicy aromatic. The drydown is a beautiful, mellow oriental. This gem is unfortunately in the shadow of Le Male but it shouldn't be!! This is a great men's fragrance with great sillage. Reminds me of Christmas. Definitely one of THE best colognes for men....fabulous. I have tried many fragrances - but this one is up there - in the top ten!!
I don't know exactly which Armand Bassi perfume ıt was, (not the blue one) but I must accept that I could not resist its blend for a homme scent nearly making me crazy and resistless alll the time...
made for the swarty men...hahaha
OMG!! for me it s an extremely beautiful scent!!lovely, lovely, and lovely one more time!!pure beauty!!!my favorite along with BalMan, Bogart pour homme and Lalique equus, this scent is like a armani code from small part, but it s so much better!!! perfect!!
its a strong and pleasant scent that will attract attention of people!! i dont find its smell attractive as its not very natural, but this is question of taste!! Try it!!
Spicy and aromatic, this scent for men makes a bold statement. If you like orientals, this is a must try. Armand Basi is a good fragrance house that deserves more attention.
