well girls I bought this one based on reviews, I saw that almost no one dislikes it and I thought well if its nice sweet and strong it should be mine. still I got dissapointed after I received the package. too sharp and nothing sweet and no lasting power.. really no..
spot on review sherapop! this is violets and sweet heliotrope.
violet fades quickly and the vanilla settles in.
reminds me very much of hugo boss purple for women.
SENSUAL RED is my first experience with the house of Armand Basi, and I'd say that it more of a floriental vanilla than a fruity-floral perfume. The violet and especially heliotrope are dominant to my nose, with a hefty dose of vanilla and praline. Yes, indeed, this is sweet, but it also smells pretty good! In wafts, various oriental vanilla compositions come to mind while wearing this one, but I think that there is enough purple flower content to mark SENSUAL RED off as distinct.
Based on this preliminary testing, I'd like to try more of the perfumes from this house. I recommend SENSUAL RED to those who appreciate very sweet heliotrope/violet perfumes.
reminds me somehow strongly to dior hypnotic poison sensuel!!! it last on me now for hours and it's quite noticable when i moove. i can catch wiffs of it and it's just beautiful! very recommendable.
Sensual Red starts off very sweet with strong clementine. I really like the clementine, it's noticeable all the way throughout the drydown only less obvious in the end. The sweetnes fades away after couple of minutes which makes Sensual Red bearable for me. I get violet, but the iris and the heliotrope isn't there as far as I can tell.
The drydown reminds me of Amor Absolue's drydown (almost the same base notes), but Sensual Red doesn't have that ghastly pineapple note that won't let go, so thumbs up for Sensual Red. The vanilla steps forward at this point and blends well with the clementine. The drydown is pleasant, but it turns rather simple. All that's left after 4 hours is a tiny hint of violet and vanilla and only whiffs of clementine.
I do like this fragrance despite the extremely sweet opening, but I expected it to be a bit more interesting and long lasting than this (not at least sensual!). I hereby rename it to Sweet Clementine In A Hurry.
