Uh, Jais! What a memory straight from my teenage!
I never really loved it, but my small bottle looked so gorgeous and different!
The jus utself... well, not for evryone maybe. It was a very weird green/animalic scent. I didn't know anything about notes back then, but the smell was so different from anything else! Quite powerful but not overpowering. Weird, green potion like a witchy thing, both innocent and seductive. I cannot see resemblance to Magie Noire if not vaguely. Jais is not that powerful and complex. Some time later there was a similar scent around by Romeo Gigli in a green straight bottle (not listed)
Jais smelled so complicated and charming to me in that time, but for some reason I didn't completely loved it.
Smelled many years ago I now find it a little to simple compared to my complicated tastes and that was probably a reason back then not to love it, because unaware tastes were already there. If you buy it, don't expect an especially refined scent, rather a peculiar mix of weird notes kept tamed and probably cheap smelling on some chemistries (my friend at high school)
So lovely and unlike Loulou it's complex and without the overdose of heavy synthetic tonka. This has a balanced mix of notes so not one alone stands out. I dislike Loulou but adore this- no similarity.
Most of the notes listed are similar to Magie Noire, which in its vintage formula (1978-1981, before the first of at least three reformulations), is my favourite perfume ever.I found Jais and bought it unsniffed. Hmmm. Sweet! Raspberry! Chewing-gum! Cloying! Not unpleasant, but dated and not in the least similar to Magie Noire! I am trying to like it, but so far, without success. Similar to Loulou in the blue opaque bottle.
Does everyone see that this perfume has REMARKABLE notes in it? Super animalic, super green, super everything!!! Can anybody give a review, some people rated it 'LOVE'!
Ohhhhh this looks sooo amazing!! What a collection of notes!! This on paper looks like my favorite perfume ever! I wish I could try it!!
