Rose Attar Aveda for women

it seems to be based on the Esthetique Collection's Rosalia or Attar- somewhere between the former's light rose feel and the latter's deeper, resinous nature.

i believe one of the first 100% organic creations... a challenge in and of itself.

Clearly a floral classic.

I used to wear Aveda Attar (as it was called then) about 15 years ago, I'm pretty sure this is the same fragrance renamed and with more elegant packaging. It is quite a sharp and botanical scent and is very light on anything other than the brilliant, natural Bulgarian rose. I quite like Aveda's fragrances, they have a certain style that is unmistakable, and I learned about fragrance from trying many of their blends. I will say that they usually have very little longevity, though.

This is more unisex a la Serge Lutens i.e. goes beyond 19th and 20th century gender definitions. I wear it and get compliments. It starts off quite sharp and some people have likened it to cat pee. I dont agree but can see their point of view. It only comes into its own after wearing for a few hours which is a shame as it also fades to being almost too subtle. A warm rosy, woody soothing and natural scent. Good for calming down after a hectic day.
