After Little Black Dress, Avon launched its successor! Little White Dress is presented as an oriental, fresh and luminous fragrance which will bring you good mood. It is described as a fragrance with flirtatious aromas. Available as 50 ml EDP since 2009.
fresh and "sparkling" has similar "sparkly" scent to happy, except not the same smell. I usually use this in spring, very gentle and soft. a lovely scent. I'm not sure which i like best LWD or LBD, id say LWD is easier to wear though.
Clean,gentle,womanly..like it
I like the opening note...so fresh and cute but when it goes to middle note I smell like someone burning rubber with sugar which I really hate it.
Well when the middle note passed, the creamy and sweetly warm scent come. It makes perfume much better..
It is just OK perfume for me..But I prefer LBD..LBD is much better than LWD
Little White Dress is an absolute opposit of her older sister- Little Black Dress.
Cold, delicate, solid and elegant. While LBD is a temperament and passionate, LWD is modestly elegant scent.
Freesia, sandal, vanilla and musk dominates on me, the drydown is a light powdered, slightly sweet sandal undertone. Very discreet scent, perfect for daytime.
I just got this so it's early enough to change my mind perhaps when the weather cools but I have found nothing special in this perfume. It seems to be rather strong so it might be nothing more than a winter perfume for me. I didn't notice anything that stood out or is worthy of mention. This isn't a bad fragrance but it draws very near a useless one for me. My bottle says Chic In White. From reviews I assume this is the same as Little White Dress. If there is a difference, I would still try the other.
My boyfriend loves it, that is the most important :)
Boring, nothing special!!! And it smells so synthetic!!
sweet dreamy parfume ..:)
I got this Edp with bodyspray.
It is subtle and soft. White flowers and musk, maybe.
I like it, a lot actually. Easy to wear at work and daily basis.
I tested it spraying on my wrists in the evening before going to bed and at 6am I can smell very soft undertones.
It doesn't last long but it is very wearable for everyone.
You should try at least.
There is Little Red Dress coming on market in northern europe.
I wish I can find it in Fragrantica too.
I love the smell and my boyfriend really loves it. =)
I think I have to give this one too a go again as I used to wear it when pregnant and the hormons where very misguiding!!!
not very special or unique. I can only sniff orange mixed with white flowers, simple and fresh, but boring.
Today I'm wearing Little White Dress. Funny, but on my skin it doesn't exactly smell 'nice' but rather edgy and interesting, like a light, soft but special fragrance that isn't too fruity nor floral but definetely has a certain - indeed soft - character. While Little Black Dress is on one hand more beautiful, sweeter with much more vanilla and oriental notes, Little White Dress is perfect for those who want a distinctive, nonoffensive but unique office-fragrance. I think it's for those women who know what they want, not for the very light hearted.
It's a nice, wearable, everyday parfume, not very special or unique. I can only sniff orange mixed with white flowers, simple and fresh, but boring. I think LBD it's much better.
First I liked it because of its soft floral scent, but...there's something in it that I can't stand. And that something makes the whole perfume not really good.
I have Chic in White which I'm told is the same as Little White Dress here in Canada.
As you would suspect, Chic in White is a white floral and is the younger sister of CK's Eternity. on me at least. It is not the sillage monster of the 80's white florals and has less longevity on the skin but the ingredients are worthy and blend together nicely if somewhat generically. No, it hasn't the unique qualities of Alfred Sung or Eternity, two of my favorite white florals if I have to go there (I'm not a white floral fan) but 80's florals can be monsters and Chic in White is dainty in comparison.
The container is classic and looks like a much more expensive perfume. I like it.
I just get it and this is very best in lovely price.
In my opinion it may be the best AVON perfume,it's smell like Brithney hidden fantasy but Brithney smell longer for me.
But if I think about price I known what I have to choose , my disapppointment is about it package because it leak and my perfume 50 ml run out in only one month.
Which non from my use surely.
little white dress is a real WHITE sensation.
very simple and appealing for daywear:
soft, powdery and feminine, cheeky, innocent, slightly sweet, quite linear but nice and staying power is great for such a light avon scent!
classified as an oriental-floral on avon sites.
Top: mandarine, freesia
Heart: peony, gardenia
Bottom: vanila, light woods, white musc
It's a sweet powdery scent, very feminine and nice.. For fragile women, dreamy and romantic... I like it, but it's not quite "me". Good lasting power for a soft perfume.ii
When I first tested Little White Dress all I could think of after smelling it was that it reminds me of some perfume but I couldn't tell which one. But I figured it out after a while and for me it reminds Hidden Fantasy by Britney Spears. They're not the same but there are similarities. The first similarity is citrus note in the top. And the oriental feeling of Little White Dress can be compared to the spices in Hidden Fantasy. But Avon's scent is a bit lighter and not so heavy winter-time perfume and suitable for any kind of season.
Little White Dress is a very lovely scent, almost magical. It smells much more expensive than it actually is. It's not a typical Avon-fragrance. It's delicate and strong at the same time. I really like it. And the name suits perfectly because I can imagine myself in a pretty white dress on a fancy cocktail party wearing this scent. Bravo, Avon!
love it!
This is a nice perfume... Ideal for day wear. It is soft, easy-going and subtle perfume. I feel good when I spray it on. It has good staying power as compared to other Avon fragrances. But it should be as it is EDP and most of the Avon perfumes are EDT. One can give LWD a try and it wouldn't go wrong.
i have tried the little white dress body sparay and after trying that have now ordered a bottle on my avon order form as far as i can tell from the body spray and sample this is clean and crisp the first thing it makes you think of is a beautiful summery day strolling along the beach ,
it also gives the comforting scent of crisp fresh linen its an absolutley beautiful delicate smell reminds me of estee lauder scents i think this would br great for a wedding day perfume , its subtle its such a beautiful happy scent not at all overpowering has staying power still smelling fresh and clean and crisp after many hours this is a great everyday scent too i think , where as the little black dress is stronger and better to wear on a special occasion if you were dressing up a very good avon perfume this is one i,ll be buying lots of a real must buy !
I`m not sure if I could support any of the previous reviews :) LWD is actually quite lasting fragrance. It lasts for hours. I could still smell it 10 hours after spraying it on my skin and 2 days after spraying it on my clothes. The good news: gorgeous top notes (pity so much blended with the odor of alcohol), bad news: middle notes smell like any Avon brochure scented page and the dry down smells of harsh lemon freshness. It smells metallic sour and once again reminded me why not to buy Avon fragrances. I`d like to ask someone who creates the fragrances for Avon and what ingredients do they use.
For some unknown reasons I’m addicted to it. True, that it has no staying power at all, but for these short moments when it stays, I am in heaven. The beginning is quite strong and I usually don’t wear it every day. Better than Little Black Dress and my Avon favorite for spring/summer (while winter favorite is True Glow).
I just purchased it yesterday, it's a very subtle and soft fragrance, quite linear, I smell nothing but amber notes; also
it has no sillage at all. I don't consider it a real fragrance but rather a good body scent.
This is really rather priddy! I can smell coconut in here quite alot when it's wet. I'ts a white, flowery, coconutty smell. There's an element of linen in here too.
I think it smlels quite beachy and brings to mind the image of wearing a white dress with white sandals walking along the sand in the sun.
It's not terribly complex to my nose but is beatifully blended and is really pleasant smelling.
It wears off quite quickly though which is a bit dissapointing and the coconutty vibe fades leaving behind a fresh linen/laundry kinda smell.
:)
This is known as Chic in White in the area where I live. It's a real soft fragrance but not enough to satisfy a true fragrance addict like most of us on this website. It is reasonably priced with a nice bottle. It might be a nice gift for a grandmother that uses Cashmere Bouquet talcum from the drugstore and doesn't care for strong perfume. Also this could be a nice one to lend to your young daughter that wants to be grown up. It wears off quickly so she wouldn't go off to school doused in something that smells like a French whorehouse. I don't think Avon would use that in their advertising though !
I sampled both In Bloom by Reese Witherspoon and Chic in White one day and found that the In Bloom as too peachy while the White was too delicate. However when the two combined on my skin it was perfect, a wonderful scent. Avon are you listening ? Put In Bloom with Chic in White and call it Bloom in White.
Got a bottle of this recently; if LWD had a voice, it would be wimpering, crying out for a bit more oomph. It is 'nice' for a the first 10 minutes and then vanishes!!! Got it on special offer (50% off) and it is not expensive to begin with, so would have been more peeved if I had paid more for it. But was hoping for more and got less, for less, if you know what I mean!!!!? Won't buy it again.
Finally got my hands on this one!!!I have reviewed Black Dress earlier and was really curious to smell this one!!
This surprised me in a very pleasant way! This scent is def a summer scent for me. Its opening is very nice citrusy and it developes into a creamy soft and clean soapy fragrance that lasts very long! Just like LBD this smells exclusive on my skin, this could easily be taken as an expensive scent if wore by the wright person!
I like it very much, worth a try!!!
I blind ordered a bottle of Little White Dress and got it at the weekend. I was very disappointed though because it's really nothing special and isn't anywhere near as nice as Little Black Dress. LWD smells very synthetic and cheap to me and I instantly disliked it. It didn't get any better the longer it was on my skin so I'll be returning my bottle. Little Black Dress though is far nicer and is much warmer, sexier and classy smelling.
I'm a fan of light, soft, feminine fragrances and I love this fragrance by Avon. I've tested LBD aswell, which I found a bit too sharp and edgy for me. LWD has a subtle scent, it's soft and creamy fragrance and it has a certain feel of innocence and delicacy that makes it appealing to men aswell.
The begining is nice and warm, it reminds me another Avon's fragrence - Percive which I dislike, but Little White Dress is OK. Unfortunately after an hour it smells like a soap;(
Little Black Dress is much better!
I just finished my first and most probably last bottle of LWD. At the beginning I liked it a lot. Very light but still oriental and very nice to wear during the day and during the summer.
However I got bored of it quite fast. This never happened with LBD which I can wear anytime and in any season.
Overall it was ok, but I wouldn't buy it a second time.
Here in America this is called Chic in White (same bottle, notes that maid_marilyn so kindly added sound exactly like what I smell in my Chic in White). By the way, maid_marilyn, thank you for the added notes for this perfume. It's far more complete than I have ever been able to dig up even as a rep.
I have been enjoying wearing this most recently now that it's warmer out. I love the combo of the fruitiness, florals, woods & spices in here. It's a well done light-floriental, if that makes any sense.
I think I prefer this to LBD (Chic in Black), although I will have to try that one again.
This is better for me than LBD. I think this is softer and lighter. This is nice!
I bought it for mum's day.
It's too light for our tropical climate.
I love the LBD better.
Notes gleaned from the Czech and Polish avon websites, with the help of the google translator:
Top notes: bergamot, mandarin, freesia
Middle notes: gardenia, peony, dandelions
Base notes: white musk and blonde woods
Ok, I love this perfume. It's a very light and pretty floral oriental which elicited a spontaneous compliment from my husband, so for me that means it's a keeper. It's true that Little White Dress is not very long-lasting, which I know everyone always says about avon perfumes, but that hasn't been my general impression. On me this one is gone in a couple of hours, but in fairness, J'Adore disappears in about the same amount of time at 5 times the price.
When they come out with a matching lotion, I will definitely buy it. That should help the lasting power.
My mum just bought this perfume and I must say that I liked this one more than lbd.
this is a day to wae perfume more light and at the same time energic but....as all Avon perfumes it does not last long and it is not soemthing to remember after years and years...
Very different for me compared to LBD. Flowers, some bitterness, fresh end elegant. I like it quite a lot for an Avon fragrance.
I have just bought this scent and can't tell the difference between LWD and LBD!!! Perhaps this one's ever-so slightly more citrusy... perhaps...?
I was expecting something different, a fruity twist on the original maybe. It's nothing amazing. Bearable.
I love this scent, but with many fromAvon it doesn't lst long. I liked Little Black Dress too, but I think LBD is more for the night while LWD is more for day wear. I use it for work, but I keep the bottle in my handbag to re-apply at lunch time.
