Popular singer Fergie is launching her first fragrance OUTSPOKEN in cooperation with the house of Avon. The fragrance aims at strong and courageous women who are full of self-esteem and understanding. With Fergy, Avon managed to get the right person for partnership to place their product in the best possible way.
Fergie is a singer, text writer and actress; capricious, feminine and mysterious woman. Fragrance Outspoken depicts her personality, sensuality and seductiveness and highlights complexness of every women that way. Top notes of the perfume refresh us with frozen black currant, starfruit and wild saffron, standing in contrast with gentle aromas of the heart. Floral nuances of tuberose, jasmine and passionflower dance together in a passionate and sensual way, while seducing base notes of ebony, leather and vetiver.
Inspiration for the flacon is connected with popular Fergie's wedding. She remembers to have seen a beautiful, luxurious, crystal vase which attracted her attention with its elegance. Result of the creation is connecting variety and contrasts. Diamond-shaped stopper crowns dark, glass curves of the flacon and achieves a more luxurious form. This precious and feminine flacon is available as 50 ml EDT, for about 28 EUR. Besides the fragrance Outspoken, the collection includes 150 ml perfumed body cream. The fragrance arrives on the market end May 2010.

On my skin, Outspoken has no detectable tuberose or leather. All I get is the fruit notes mostly star fruit and black currant. On my skin this smells EXACTLY like Incanto Dream. Incanto Dream also has black current and passion fruit). Actually, the lasting power of this scent is incredible. It lasted on me well over 6 hours with just 2 sprays. While I like this perfume a little, I wouldn't repurchase it. Most straight fruity scents are not my cup of tea. I don't see myself reaching much for this scent.
Bought it and gave it away. I expected more though I DON'T KNOW WHY. It is rare that Avon soes an interesting scent . Outspoken is just another perfume to my nose. Unoffensive and average ,
Pleasant scent. Fruity & flowery at first. Then at time passes a spicy, musky, woody scent stays with you for a while. True, it doesn't have much of a lasting power. But for the price you can reapply it worry free.
For Avon, I found this to be on the more expensive side (compare with the Scentini collection, running at about $8) Nonetheless, I was always curious, so I tried it, and walked away from the Avon counter.
The opening was fruity, very fruity. But it had a darker essence to it. Definatly a night fragrence from the start. Pleasent! A very unique tuberose fragence, I might add.
Now, roughly 4 hours later, I can still smell it clearly. The leather and the black current are weaving in and out of each other beautiful, along a fading background of barley-there tuberose.
A beautiful scent! :-)
too much blackcurrant, that's true...that's why I like it ...I think the name suits the perfume. Nice bottle looks very good for a gift
I love fruity parfumes and I really like this one. I have the solid perfume but it's not very persistent
I hate this fragrance it smells cheap and makes me want to throw up!! lucky I only had a tester and not a full bottle!! It smells like a wet dog has been sprayed with cheap perfume! eww
Fun, fruity and a little bit sexy. An absolute bargain and it comes in a sassy bottle too so it looks good out on show.
I purchased this blindly, searching for an affordable replacement for Michael Kors perfume. I miss wearing Michael Kors, it reminds me of the more decadent times. So given the current economic crisis, I was willing to give Outspoken a try. I found a .5 oz for a song on Ebay and waited for it to arrive.
It came! From first spray Outspoken calls out coyly "don't I remind of you Michael Kors". Minutes later Outspoken is shouting at me "don't I remind you of Michael Kors! I'm not Michael Kors! I'm Outspoken!" Louder and louder with going crescido.
In a panic I go to wash it off, but find there is no need. Outspoken has reduced to a whispering soapy drydown. Boo, now I don't have a replacement for Michael Kors and I'm five short from my next bottle.
I happened to like this fragrance, but I can't wear it. It gave me headaches and made me sick!
I applied a 2ml sample less than an hour ago and its disappeared already, which is lucky as I didn't like it at all.
First when I try Outspoken it was auwfull. Then I became body cream- that was good. I tried second time EdP and I like it.
I just finished using this perfume and I really find it not that strong but it was good; also when I sweat for some reason it did not made it worse it fact it went along which was good. However, if you are the type of person who likes to use perfume/cologne as often this probably is not suitable for you since it is powdery yet somewhat has a somewhat woodsy smell. This is good for night wear only but you could wear it in a the day if you like.
I bought the solid perfume necklace and I can't keep my nose out of it! The staying power is very limited, but the fragrance itself is absolutely luscious. I had to go back and order a bottle of the actual spray as well.
Smells like pickles and roses.
Nice floral scent. Fruit followed by the tuberose is what I notice immediately upon first spray. Leather appears in the dry down. It gives it the edge it needs to avoid being too 'flowery', for me... Well done fragrance for a very good price. Not a favorite, but I will wear it. :)
I wore this again after not wearing for a of couple months. I had to add that the longevity on this one is GREAT. It really lasts on my skin. The morning after wearing I realized the scent on my wrist was one of the first things I noticed upon waking.
I gave this a try since it got some decent reviews on here, but I really wasn't impressed by it. It starts off with some fruits and then I can smell the tuberose, jasmine and leather. Honestly I am not a white florals or a leather fan so just because I am not fond of it doesn't mean you won't like it. I had a swipe sample of this and i think it is not as strong as if it was a spray. Lightly applied this perfume is ok, but more then lightly I know would give me a headache. It lasted 6 hours on me and I think is a better spring and summer fragrance. Im going to pass on this one. Oh and it did not smell old lady to me. Just a little to much on the sweet side for my preference. So young people, don't be afraid to try it.
I do not wear it much, but I do get compliments on it. I would say go easy on it. It is a little strong.
Wow,(coughs) this is a umm...really strong scent. Yuckk..its not very good.
A cheaper version of Amarige, but darker thanks to leather. Poor staying power and Avon-ish soapy base notes.
Tipical autumn fragrance, opening is wonderful, but after it become something else I don't like so much (but not bad). I was disappointed in Outspoken EDP. :(
I like it. I mean, it is kind of a special perfume, it has a different scent then all those you can smell all day.
First I had disliked the scent, but after some minutes I started to smell the tuberose :) It's intense and the base notes stay for a long time. At the end of the day I still smell sweet and misterious, but not as intense as in the beginning.
Conclusion: like it, it is in my top 10 perfumes.
This perfume smells just like one that my Grandma wears, it must be the Givenchy Amarige. I don't like it for me at all. I would expect something young and fresh from Fergie and, while I appreciate that she didn't decide to create another fruity-floral, this one just doesn't seem to match her image. It's too old-school, IMHO.
To me this is extremely similar to Michael Kors Michael. I used to wear Michael a lot, and Outspoken feels like a slightly fruitier copy of it.
This one is nice. Has some of my favorite notes; tuberose, black currant and jasmine. I can't smell the leather in this but that's good because I'm not sure if I want to smell like leather anyway. May not be for everyone, but to me it's a perfect sexy floral and not overbearing. It also has longer lasting power than your average Avon fragrance. And another great thing about this is the price--I got a half ounce purse spray for under $5 on ebay. After I smelled it, I ordered more plus the lotion. This will be one I use often.
I just love this.
I am a tuberose lover and would like to wear it daily.
Some say that this is a cheap copy of Amarige.
It certainly is very close but Outspoken has its own aura. It is more subtle and softer than Amarige. Outspoken can be worn daily but Amarige is for dewy nights.
I, myself can't stand Amarige, it is too powerful; gives me a huge headache.
Maybe that is why I love Outspoken so much.
It lasts about 4-6 hours on me, and that's pretty good.
I will purchase this again surely!
Outspoken consistently wavers between a love and a like. I love the body lotion and like the EDT (Avon perfumes work best with my chemistry in their body product presentations as a rule).
I remember reading (in reviews below) the comparison between Skin So Soft and Outspoken; based on this newly acquired knowledge I purchased a bottle of Avon's Original SSS Bath Oil recently and put that theory to the test for myself.
My, I must say, such a fetching combination! The herbal undertones in SSS create a flawless canvas to facilitate the best parts of Outspoken on my skin, passionflower and starfruit laced with blackcurrant petals.
This combination (three layering products) may just keep Outspoken in the loves rank.
P.S. I own Amarige in EDT and EDP formulations and on my skin they are a completely different fragrant journey to Outspoken. Sniffing from the bottles however, I can see where Kristal is coming from. My advice: judge for yourself on your skin. Let your skin do the talkin'!
This is Amarige copy/paste new millenium style, but with cheaper ingredients. Do yourself a favour and, please, buy the original !
hmmm ... i like it so much this parfume :X is one of my favorite :) when i wear it don't know is like i believe more in me ... i weraing this only when i wnat to impreess someone or i want to qonquer ...:)) haha :)) but is one of my favorite :)
I've found this beautiful perfume at flea market at a super HUGE DEAL!! I THOUGHT THIS IS THE TIME TO TRY IT!! since everyone was raving about it!!! MEN... i'm really sorry but this is a HUGE HEADEAK MEGA SUFFERING SMELL I CANNOT STAND IT! I DON'T know why it does smell super nice sensual & sexy on my friends :( i guess some perfume are made for darker pigmentation skin person & some for lightler skin like me! it's so funny 'cause my boyfriend tried it! & end it up!! asking for the bottle it suits him ... OK!! i don't understand but it does smell SUPER SEXY ON HIM!!! I have some other Avon perfume that are sublime but.. NOT for me this one is pretty BAD on me i truly wanted to love this on :(
I adore the smell of this - sexy, musky, but not too spicy - but it does not last more than an hour, at most. I got a small purse-size that I only use if I'm going out because, I feel, even at Avon prices a full size is not worth it.
Love this scent. My husband seems to like it so I will buy it again. Sampled it today and lasted for at least 4-6 hours on me. So had to reapply it when I freshened up my makeup. buy this one girls men love it.
This doesn't strike me as sexy. It's a pretty, slightly pink floral fragrance, like Eliage. Peonies, tuberose, fresh florals with a nice watery edge, then drying down to sweetness with no leather to mediate. Office or Church suitable, pleasantly pretty. I can't see how this is outspoken or even very different. Pretty though.
i hate it ! smells so bad !
does NOT last. but I love it anyway. and spray away all the day. a purse size carried with me. the sample was horrid. the actual perfume is lovely!
I quite like Fergie as a celebrity. I find her strangely beautiful with her almost alien features and raspy voice. I was intrigued to see whether Outspoken captured the type of person I saw her as being.
First off, I could smell the blackcurrant clearly when I first applied this fragrance to my wrist. It had that dark, rich and jammy quality that was indeed very bold and sensual. The heart wanted to be soft, feminine and flowery, however the jasmine and tuberose surprisingly didn't appear to be as creamy and ethereal as those notes often are. I think the saffron and woodsy notes kept the white floral accords grounded.
After awhile the scent turned rather sweet, but not gooey thankfully. The Avon powderiness did emerge towards the drydown, however it didn't make this fragrance smell too mature. I would have honestly liked to have smelt more of the leather in the base but the leather and vetiver were rather subtle.
I may have perhaps preferred a richer oriental to be the fragrance behind Fergie's name, however from what I've experienced and worn for several hours, has left me somewhat in agreement with this fragrance. Outspoken is really not that bad at all.
If it's sexy, it is sexy in the sense of ninties. Sex of 2010s smells sweeter, more like Britney Spears and Mariah Carey fragrances.
Actually the only good thing about Outspoken is nostalgy and cute impressions of 1990s, when everyone was wearing strong dark perfumes.
I first purchased body lotion for only $6. At first i really liked it, it smelled different and i never thought i'd be able to smell leather but i indeed though. It's a very sexy fragrance BUT one it's not long lasting, two it's not a scent you can wear everyday and three i found it to be a bit expensive for an Avon perfume at $28 for the perfume alone - personally i'd put in a little bit more money and buy a higher end perfume. I really love and support Avon products but this fragrance is not worth it. I know it got best perfume of 2011 by allure magazine but it doesn't cut it for me. The bottle looks really expensive i will admit..i just wish it had more of a feminine touch. I just figured out that it's more of a unisex perfume in my opinion because when i wore my dad was like "it's a bit masculine..is it for women?". I'm into more fruity/floral/gourmand scents but i love anything that smells sexy and sultry while still being sweet but not cotton candy sweet.
smells sooo cheap and the lasting power it's awful
To me, it's not a "worth it" perfume if it doesn't stay on you long enough or isn't strong enough for someone at least 3 feet to smell it. Clearly, outspoken isn't outspoken enough. i like the fragrance but it falls short on staying power. That's what you get from an Avon product.
To me it does not really smell like leather at all. But I have to say that I find this scent quite horrible and stinky.
I BOUGHT THIS PERFUME A FEW DAYS AGO...AND I LOVE IT!! IT SAYS THAT HAS LEATHER IN THE BASE BUT I CAN'T SMELL IT, IS MORE LIKE A SOFT FRUITY SCENT. LOVE IT!!
men always gave me compliments on this one. i think it's just pure sex :) it's very intense, sexy and provocative!
This scent for me is nothing like I had expected it to smell. I thought it would be heavier on the leather and ebony wood notes but it's more floral to my nose. I do like it though and have to agree that it does smell like Avons Skin So Soft. It lasts fairly long maybe 4-8 hours but sillage is weak. I would say it's a nice spring scent.
A lovely scent, but I was disappointed - simply doesn't last. I applied it twice and it just disappears. I don't get it - why Avon puts out great scents that don't last. Seems that is the case more and more.
I BUY THIS ONE! I LIKE THE SMELL! I SMELL THE LEATHER ON THE BASE NOTES!
I liked this one I'm thinking about getting a bottle I've been looking for a nice winter scent. I liked the leather. It evolved really nicely and had good staying power.
Why can’t the perfume industry stop giving us ‘’clones’’? Outspoken is a dead ringer for Amarige, everyone on this board who compared the two nailed it. Scent is so subjective, and I find myself caught between praise and laughter for Outspoken. I like the aggressive white floral with dark berries first spray honestly. It does not smell like a celebrity endorsed scent, nor does it smell like my conditioned mindset of Avon anything ( at first). I also faintly pick up on the leather base. I’m super sensitive to leather in compositions, but the leather here is so very faint, and not at all like leather accords in great classics. At least it’s there, and for me it saved the entire composition from being utterly banal. The longer this wears on my skin however, the more it morphs into Avon’s ‘’Skin-so-soft’’…I think it’s important to leave this bit of info, as I absolutely love the bath oil and lotion aroma from Avon. In fact I've always wanted a perfume that smelled of such, since I find when I use Avon's ''skin-so-soft'' it's very romantic, and sensual smell.
I unfortunately do not get any of the leather which is why I purchased it in the first place, disappointing.
This always reminds me of my birthday for some reason and this was one of the first perfumes i ever bought! its absoloutly georgious!
Dark fruity floral, strong berries, I fail to detect any leather. Not too sweet and quite intriguing; it's ok for office wear as long as you use it sparingly - and this is not for wallflowers, as the name says: a confident, outspoken woman.
I am so disapointed :( It is also for me kind of less sweet Amarige ...I suppose to find in this interesting bottle something darker but in "Midnight Poison way"...But i like Fergie evethought:D
Not bad at all. It is a bit dark as others put it meaning is not a kind of make me happy or fresh scent. However it has a certain character and the leather note is truly detectable in a very balanced way, not annoying or loud way. It is a modern scent that could be really used day or night and the lasting power is pretty good at least on me. The bottle is cute fits its content. Though it is not really my kind of 'tea', I still enjoy wearing it here and there just to spice things up around me.
Nice scent but nothing new, just like what the previous comments here stated. It's bold but I can wear it on hot weather. Bottle is cute and it really reflects Fergie. Overall, it's a safe fragrance to wear.
I like this but not enough to wear it in the evening. Many will say its an evening fragrance but I wear it for work. The blackcurrant top not is quite strong on me and as it dries down I get the Jasmine and Vertyver. The blackcurrent does seem to remain so it remains a little fruity. It does last well and I can still smell it, albeit faintly, after a 9 hour day.
Bought it 2 months ago. Not a favorite from avon, but still it's a nice fragrance to wear from time to time.. I would give it an 8
i recieved a sample of this from my avon girl, i was very surprised that it does seem to smell like a cheap imposter perfume. imposter of what tho, i'm not sure. i didn't care for it all and wrote it off as one more of avon's same run of the mill perfumes. there are only a few avon perfumes that i enjoy and they pop up randomly. this is not one. bond girl 007 is favorite of mine right now from avon. and i never go wrong with their soft musk. outspoken is a loud disappointment.
I really thought that when this perfume will come up it will be something unusual, sexy and sensitive as Fergie. But...It disappointed me a lot. The smell is so mainline, nothing special :( It may be pretty on some teenage girls who are just beginning with perfumes and do not know many more famous or I should say, more expensive perfumes.
I will only recommend it to girls between 15- 20y. If you will like it...
I expected SO much more with Fergie putting her name on it. I really wanted to like it and gave it a few honest tries. But it is not only unspectacular, it's somewhat offensive to my nose. Big flowery mix of boring notes. Sorry Avon, not impressed.
I love the bottle.
But i expected something more original, there are a lot of similar perfumes.
i like that perfume and the bottle i just wished it last longer thats all
see ya
I got really disappointed in this fragrance :( It is really a cheap watery scent and instantly disappears on my skin :(( When I smell the bottle, it is gorgeous, it reminds me of a cold autumn day with iced berries, but when it gets to my skin, the magic of it goes away :(
I really hate it. It's too dark and it smells so cheap
It's true it smelled cheap when it dries down and it doesn't last long. It's disappointing.. :(
sexy scent!!!bolder and daring!!!love the scent the way i love fergie!!!
Outspoken is quite unique when i smell it, i wouldnt buy it, becasue its a bit too darker perfume for me. The lether is really stong in it i must say. But its not abad perfume.
I think this is more of a dark fruity floral than an Oriental- the currant notes are the dominant feature-
In my opinion, the potency and longevity leave much to be desired-
I just got my OUTSPOKEN at this very minute...i got it from my friend (office mate at the same time an AVON lady)..damn! it comes with a FREE fergie shoulder bag too!!! love the smell not to strong which sometimes if too strong it can hurt my smelling senses (wink!) but this, its just right..I LOVE it!!!!! thanks to AVON..next time can you guys create a a perfume featuring other celebs like lindsay lohan...and the likes.....
I would have liked the leather note to be much louder. I could detect it, but only in random moments, something would float past my nose which actually reminded me more of rubber tires than of leather, but I wanted more of it! Without that tiny hint of the unusual, it's really just a floral. It's nice, but I prefer something a lot more daring and unusual than this. In the end it just isn't memorable.
I expected something more "glamorous" and in fact it's just a girlish perfume... I don't hated, it's just a bit too sweet, fruty more than floral and it just doesn't surprise you with anything.... The scent wears off in a couple of hours.. doesn't have anything "outspoken" to it... it's more like a whisper...
I am an Avon representative. This perfume is going to be introduced in my country in Dec, 10. I am really looking forward to testing this and hopefully, buying it as soon as it comes out.
Its Fergalicious!! I initially purchased this fragrance (without smelling it first) because I love the bottle and vibrant colors of purple, black and white. Then once I actually smelled the "juice" within, I was mesmerized. The smell is bold, yet inviting. Strong, yet feminine. Quiet and subtle, yet so very OUTSPOKEN!! ;-)
I'm suprised of how amazing it smells!! I love it, and it would be a great gift!
I must agree with many of the above posters who commented on the similarities b/w Outspoken and Amarige. The two are quite similiar, except, of course, Amarige, being a child of the House of Givenchy, is a wee bit more expensive than Fergie's creation.
Not that I'm terribly dissapointed about that, mind you. I remember Amarige when I actually owned the fragrance some time ago; it was and still is quite a beautiful scent, I just wish Fergs would have come up with something just a little more original. Oh well, with the gluttony of fragrances out there nowadays, who can be original? ;)
I must say this perfume isnt that bad. i like it but would like it even better if i wasnt spraying myself with it constantly to keep the smell. wish the smell would last longer.the leather isnt very loud in this perfume.its more of a bitter twist.
No leather,no blackberry, just a plain watery tuberose. It kinda remind me of La Lune 18 by D&G.Not worthy buying it.
I got the opportunity 2 smell this yesteray while at the hair salon... An Avon representative had a tester bottle and I gladly sampled it... Not as bad as I thought it was gonna be...I like the leather and the blackberry in this as well as the subtle use of tuberose dancing in the background... Soft and pretty yet uncommon, wouldnt mind having g a bottle...
I really like this perfume because it reminds me of the Avon perfume Cristal Aura which was phenomenal! But sadly was discontinued.
Avon say this one has "Iced Berries" which I'm thinking is the top notes aroma which is very notable and tantalizing when you first spray it on, but that fades to a strong leather notes that predominate - the starfruit, passion flower and blackcurrant notes are delicious and all up its a warm broth - a little haunting too!
This is a very clean, smooth fragrance. Upon first spray, I detect dark berries, but it is not exactly fruity or sweet.
It dries to a soft, creamy floral/leather. Creamy is definitely the word that most comes to mind when smelling this. It's a bit soapy, but holds a sense of sophistication.
Appropriate for any occasion.
I just wish it lasted longer, even when layering with the lotion.
Overall, a really pleasant fragrance and a beautiful bottle.
I loved the smell from the first time i wore it and people around me noticed the new fragrance. I feel the Tuberose, that's what I loved about this parfume, the bold flower :)
i purchased a bottle of this perfume from my avon rep a short while back now , and im afraid this perfume left me rather dissapointed ...
first impresssions i hated the design of the bottle i was expecting the top of the bottle to be a bit more glam !!
on opening the perfume i expected to smell a lovely leathery but feminine smell where is my leather ? no leather smell in this perfume , when my rep gave me a sample card the scent was great then..so quite let down , and my main impressions was that fergies say it like you mean it scent actually smelt exactly the same as the skin so soft range by avon .. very soapy nothing daring or exciting at all paid 14 quid for this perfume and dont use it any longer as dont like it ! not a perfume id be rushing to buy again ...
On my skin Outspoken is a bit too masculine and the leather note, which is dominant for me, starts to smell like rubber after some hours. Not working well with my body chemistry at all. Unfortunately, because I love black currant.
Well iced black currents I can see in the initial opening, then on my skin it develops a soapy quality, like soapy musk.
The black currents have a mixed berry feel that is wonderful but sadly they quickly blend down into the soap and stay there. There are no flowers, certainly no tuberose for me.
Outspoken actually cruises along the lines of Intimately Beckham Night. After wrist by wrist comparison, aside from the opening, they are quite similar except Beckham holds the berry notes much better. All in all I think I'll keep my Beckham and swap Outspoken...sorry Fergie. My skin and your perfume are not a match.
After the 1st test, all I could smell were tuberose, black currant and star fruit. It was nice and the tuberose wasn't so much in my face. Still I will have to do a 2nd test to see what I'm missing; where is my leather!? Ugh!
I really like Fergie's first fragrance. It really reminds me a lot of Mary J. Blige's "My Life" fragrance but it's easier to get to and easier to get a sample of.
It starts of juicy with a burst of sweet, tarty blackberries and you can also smell the tuberose but it's in the background. It doesn't ever overpower the other notes which is A1 in my book since Tuberose seems to always dominate everything else. They went very light with it and any fragrance that can tame the wildhorse that is Tuberose gets a great review from me.
I don't know for sure how the lasting power is since I just put some on about 15 minutes ago but for 36 bucks you get a solid, a 6.7 lotion and a 1.7 oz bottle of edp. You can't really beat that. I've had other scents from designers that cost WAY more than that and they've faded after 15 minutes. This seems to just be getting started. Good job, Fergie! I think I'll be getting this tonight :)
This perfume is really the only elegant blueberry fragrance i've ever smelt! I mean.....this is quite simillar to midnight fantasy...but ..on the other way...it isn't simillar AT ALL!!! Both of them are UNIQUE (just my opinion)...but i really prefer Midnight Fantasy like a teenager day perfume...and Outspoken like a night special ocasions scent...it is kinda' heavy...but for ladies who prefer soft fruity & vanilla fragrances this is a perfect night perfume....
I've tested this fragrance as it has finally arrived in my country.
At first smell it has some 'AVON' taste, very conventional, but after some hours (the lasting period is pretty good) it becomes a bit sharp but juicy scent - due to the star fruit and berries I guess.
At the same time there's nothing special about it, I would become bored of it so fast, so I think for this price there are better (celebrity) perfumes.
The bottle is nice, but the logo makes it a little bit cheap-looking for me.
What can I say about Outspoken? Lots of things; which surprised me as I expected this to be another heavy, cheap smelling Avon perfume. Besides the fact that it’s backed by a celebrity synched my negative predisposition about this perfume.
Boy was I wrong!
Is this another sweet celebrity scent? Yes and No.
The red berries in the top notes and the leathery bottom notes are beautifully held together by the tuberose. I don’t even care for leather tones on me and yet... this is the first perfume I will wear that has those dark leathery tones (and vetiver to boot!) because it is accented by wonderful dark and icy berries that are warmed up by the tuberose, creating a juxtaposition to die for. All the other notes play supporting roles here. Berry, tuberose, and leather run the show, so to speak. On my skin, the berries and tuberose shine, leaving the ebony character of the scent dancing undercovers to a rock n roll tune. No femme fatale quality to it as most people hoped it would. Which is great for me since I wouldn't want to walk around smelling like someone I'm not. I think this is what I had hoped Avril Lavigne's Black Star would smell like. Sweet... but with an edgy kick to it.
Projection is good but the sillage is medium. Staying power leaves something to be desired.
Avon offers money back guarantee. Buy it! ;o)
Nothing special AT ALL on me. Flowery tuberose is all I'm getting and I think I've smelled this in a million other perfumes. I expected something a little "dirtier". For a flowery, leathery, sexy scent-I'll go back to Kiss for Her. Weird as it sounds, that is a REALLY nice scent. It's a "lady in the boardroom, sexpot in the bedroom" kind of scent.
A very nice tuberose & leather scent. The black currant is super sweet & strong but then hushes down a bit for tuberose & leather to ultimately settle in for the duration , but with the juiciness of the berries always present.
I note the leather but it's very subtle , maybe like the lingering faint smell of well loved worn leather from my closet.
The leather note is enough to cast a bad girl feel to this perfume, the florals & berries are sweet & feminine , but the leather may suggest the leather whip used by a dominatrix..
I find the contrast of sweet & dark interesting enough.
This in my opinion is not 'Avon' like - I am no snob but but I dislike many of Avon's frags except for their wonderful Today perfume which happens to be one of my favorites - Outspoken is very well done ; there is no jarring , weird off balance chemical like smell that I can detect in many of Avon's other offerings.
All in all Outspoken is one sexy little number that happens to be very wearable with just a suggestion of darkness contained within.
My only complaint is that I wish it would be a little stronger.
This perfume is really wonderful. Not overpowering at all. The lotion lasts a lot longer than the spray. Im in love with it!. I got mine at www.youravon.com/mlicea
Amarige as reconstructed by Fergie might be a more suitable name for this fragrance because there is a strong resemblance between the two. Outspoken has an initial strong blast of toothache inducing sweet berries. Think black currant covered in corn syrup and sprinkled with sugar. This then turns into something very similar to Amarige and then the wait begins for the leather note. Is that it? No, that is the sickly sweet berries reappearing. Is that it? No, that is the ever-present tuberose. Where is this alleged leather note? Wait, was that it? Did it appear? If so, it was so quick I missed it completely. Sigh...
I didn't detect that powdery fragrance that seems to be the hallmark of most Avon fragrances with this one but I didn't find it that interesting in comparison to run-of-the-mill department store fragrances.
Not a bad fragrance but maybe I was too caught up in wanting that leather note that I feel rather let down by this fragrance as a whole. It is clean, fresh, fruity and tuberosey, which makes me think more of a perky cheerleader rather than the black-clad theater dame I imagined wearing this.
I might still buy this though, but only if it isn't full price.
Love it. It's bold, and it's long-lasting without being heavy and overbearing. Great fragrance.
i like this scent. True.. it dosent last long, but its only £14 at the end of the day, which is good compared to other celeb pefume prices. Whats the black leather about? I wouldnt have said yeah i want my perfume to smell like my leather sofa. does fergie has a kinky side?
My small sample smells of a fruity, rich tuberose. Pretty, but nothing special.
Blackcurrant is usually like crack to me, especially in a fragrance, but sadly, it does nothing here.
I got a whiff of the leather in the beginning, but it's not strong enough to do the Blvgari Black thing.
I like it, but in a casual, noncommittal way - kind of like how I "like" flavor of the month pop music or whatever. Fun while it lasts, no loss to the world when it's gone.
I had the chance to smell this one in a magazine it's similar to many other fragrances in the market and by no means original. It's similar to Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Amaringe, and Kim Kardashian perfume. If you like these scent you are going to like Outspoken by Fergie.
I finally got to try this at the Avon store. The first thing I noticed was that it smelled just like Amarige when first applied. Then it softens into light Amarige with a woody leather smell. Then it fades out fast but that's pretty much normal with Avon stuff. It's not that bad but the first blast of Amarige-like floral threw me off. It was like a trip back to the 90s with Givenchy perfumes gone wild. Then it's more woody floral and different.
It's not just another fizzwater celebrity fragrance so it's worth trying out. The base notes of wood and leather may not be for everybody but I like them. I like the painted black bottle too. It's like the black bottles of vintage Arpege, Tabu or Zen. Sort of mysterious looking like a black cat in the night.
I was going to start by saying this is my first celebrity perfume, but I have Elizabeth Taylor's from way back when. c3c is right is saying we shouldn't be put off by the face in front of the ad campaign, but I confess, I have ignored many perfumes because of this. I really like Fergie, the woman and the artist. But, I only got the fragrance as part of my research on leather perfumes. I'm totally surprised how light and 'young' this scent is. I'm still waiting for the leather to kick in. I'm dissapointed but at the same time really like it. I wanted it to reflect Fergie the strong, dominant female, and I got Fergie, the pretty bride. This is a good daytime scent.
Altough I like it, the scent doesn't last. Disappointing.
I live in the USA and just got this today. At first I detected an odd sourish berry smell mixed with something that seemed very familiar but could not figure out. Then as it died down some it hit me. It smells like clove. The little cloves you put in your ham. Also a little licorice. (I realize these are not listed in the notes). It's not very sweet, that's for sure. But it certainly has an attitude. This is so totally different from any perfume Avon has had in the past.
I actually like it!! It's so different!!
I love Outspoken by Fergie. I am very fussy about perfume and rarely buy anything but Opium. But as soon as I tried Outspoken I loved it. This will be on my forever list of perfumes. Its sensual and sexy and makes me feel wonderful and it is long lasting so very much value for money. I certainly have never bought a perfume because a celebrity was behind it. This is one Aussie lass who is definitely going to be outspoken about "Outspoken".
When I smelled the sample, all I could feel was tuberose. I got a bottle for me and I´m using it: the smell is completely different. It´s fruity with a little touch of tuberose. My nose is not that good today, so I´ll have to use it again in other oportunity to review it for good.
A beautiful tuberose-berry smell. I can't smell leather, but vinyl, and it's very sexy! Another celebrity tuberose scent I like is Curious by Britney Spears. I'm still don't know which one I prefer! :D
I can't add much to the wonderful reviews but I can really smell the black leather after about 10 min of applying the perfume but it's not overpowering or at all unpleasant, a really great scent - as I was secretly hoping for, being a fan of Fergie :)
Love it!

Omg.. My mums an avon representative & she bought this for me(:
Gorgeous fragrance, love iit. x
This is gorgeous, but a remarkable suprise to what I was actually expecting out of Fergie.
I initially imagined Outspoken to be a loud, potion-like headstrong fragrance dominated with dark florals, exotic fruit with a dramatic musky or tobacco base note.
But I was pleasantly shocked to discover that Outspoken is somewhat 'cleaner' than I had anticipated.
The Tuberose is obvious, and it disappears beautifully as makes way for the iced blackcurrant and star fruit notes.
The Jasmine makes a subtle appearance - I don't have a clue what Passionflower smells like, so I can only guess...
Clean green Vetiver is evident, it allows a gentle but glorious finish. However, the other base notes are virtually non-existant, it's like they were never meant to be there anyway.
There is a teensy bit of saffron note that seems to linger towards the end.
Is it me or Outspoken and Givenchy's Amariage smells the same to me? they both
have an an Acidic sweetness base in both
perfumes i think is the pervasive amount of Tuberose of each Fragrances Amariage
has a more of an sour tangy tinges and with more of an use of an woody drydown.
the opening begins with an Tuberose effect mellows out with the presence
of Black currents and crisp textures
of Starfruit. the drydown is bit elusive
Passion flower with it's beautiful foliage adds to the beauty Jasmine and
me is like finding a needle in a haystack if it's mingling with the other
notes but as a single note yes it's easier to find.
There is very little or no Leather scent
but the thought of it make it more sexy
and yes indeed it is a sexy perfume
but the silage is not long lasting compared to Amariage so you need to apply a few times but it's well worth it.
Amarige is a Older refined Sophisticated
Mature and more mannered Sister to Outspoken which is as the description
reads it Younger Edgier daring darker
and aimed for the younger crowd, but when these come together they make an
unlikely bedfellows.
I had higher hopes for this fragrance - (see my commentary for this perfume from 05/04/2010).
The top is nice enough - the berries in the top notes are not subtle which, for me, is a positive. However, the vetiver and leather basenotes are basically non-existent, and the musk that's left after the drydown smells incredibly cheap.
It's not the worst thing I've smelled by any stretch of the imagination, but it is definitely not worthy of a space in my rotation. I would never reach for it.
I got this today and is really nice at first it is really fruity,i can smell the iced berries then it become more floral the tuberose dominates the scent (at this point it reminds me a lighter Amariage by Givenchy(i read that Fergie used to wear it))at the end smell like something warm this point i cant describe it,the lasting power is really good for the price,it last like 8 hours on my skin,if you can get it in promotion with the big body lotion you should get it is a great option for a nice Fruity-Floral(is not mature but is not for teens,i mean is a nice balanced is modern but have vintage hints),i totally recomend it!. :)
I got Outspoken with the body lotion and body spray combined for about £14 with Avon, and I have to say that i love this frag! The opening is strong...I found similarities between this and the opening smell of Britney's circus fantasy, but then it warms into something completely different to it. Nothing too outrageous or original, but a pretty good scent for the price...a typical Avon-smelling frag too:)
Very Nice! I was suprised when a smel this fragrance, because this is soft and intense, fresh and sensual...and have a long lasting too.
This one has that Avon 'powder' scent that they all seem to develop but has some great extras in there. Actually the Avon site reviews mention Skin So Soft's sensual as a big comparison and I can agree with that.
Don't expect a sickly sweet fruit hit - the tuberose, passionflower and jasmine are there from the beginning with a forest fruits tang and then it all softens down into a musky floral with a black leather edge (think expensive car interior)
Currently on a half price offer in the UK for 14GBP + body spray and lotion free
The notes sound fantastic, and although not every Avon perfume is a winner, they do have some really fantastic ones.
A star having a perfume is about marketing - same goes for the house that's producing it (in this case, Avon).
The primary criteria for assessing perfume should be how it smells. The secondary thing to consider would be the actual perfumer, which in this case isn't listed, but I'd be interested to find out who it is.
My perfume collection covers a broad spectrum of price points and contains mainstream, niche and boutique fragrances. Every time I see a review by someone who turns their nose up at a perfume solely because it's a celebrity fragrance or because it's made by Avon or B&BW, and not by someone like Montale or Serge Lutens, I automatically assume that person has something to prove and dismiss their opinion altogether, since it appears to be based on a need to be accepted by other perfume "experts" and not on whether or not a fragrance actually smells pleasant. It's silly, really.
I for one, think the notes in this sound fascinating and I'm really excited to try it. I've sniffed a lot of a fruity florals, but never one with base notes like these.
Really though one should not look at a perfume by who's face they choose to put in it's ad's or even what brand produced it (although obviously that can swing you) but by what it smells like. The notes sound intriguing. Some Avon fragrances are very nice, last, and have a great price. Some more expensive perfumes don't last at all. Also in my humble opinion Fergie is looking pretty good. I don't think I'd mind being able to put that outfit on and look that good. I can't wait to try it.
