I first smelled Rare Gold as a teenager and I won't lie, I didn't like it. I thought it was too strong and it gave me a headache. Well, I'm an adult now and I just recently tried it again, and I've definitely changed my mind about it's smell now. When it opens up it's still very strong. You get a combination of the floral fruity together, which is richly pungent. The dry down is similar, but the smell isn't overpowering. I detect a beautifully warm mix of fruity-floral-sweetness. Altogether it's a very lovely fragrance and has very good staying power. Rare Gold is classic and modern and definitely for mature women. Ideal for the fall.

this fragrance is truly gold.i love it so much!! it s so nice that it could compete with any other famous branded fragrance.has incredible staying power,i sprayed it 7 hours ago and i still feel it on my skin. the opening is fruity nice smelling but the dry down is powerfull and sweet flowery,smells like gold,intoxicating.i usually don t like floral fragrances but i couldn t resist to this one,it s like a magnet for me,i had it in 2006 and i found it too strong then but since then my taste changed .now suits me perfectly,i wanted it for a while and i finally got it.men love it too,that s for sure.i consider it a classic coz it s very popular and doesn t smell old at all,on the contrary,it s more modern than ever.i highly recommend it to everyone,especially to those who don t use avon fragrances,they will have a big surprise with this one.

a bit vintage

Initially I purchased this in the 99 cent shimmering body powder to get a feel for it. I am impressed by it's warm, glowing, sweet oppulence. My 5 yr. old at the time also fell in love with it, and begged with excited giggles to use it after her bath. It's regal, wear it with confidence.

This is so delicious it is a very mysterious fragrance it has people asking me what I am wearing I can really smell the orange blossom and turbose and I think that makes this fragrance really stand out it smells really nice and I wear this when I am dressed up it makes me feel so feminine and elegant.

I think it's one of the best by Avon. It makes people ask you what you wear.
I think Rare Pearls are not nearly as good as Rare Gold.

I found this by chance a few years back - after a long hunt I found a second bottle. Now I've found it on this site :o) So I'm very happy! The is my favourite all time perfume! If you haven't tried it - I heartily recommend that you do!

last year it was my favorite and i bought many bottles then i've changed it but i think that i miss it now but the only problem is that it smells a lil bit old as in 80's

PURE LUXURY!!! it wraps u in the most precius metal of the world! Rare Gold is by far one of the most fabulous parfums ever created. great notes, long lasting, pure feminity and luxury! the old bottle with the fan shaped top was really pretty but this new top design is cute too! and the most important the fragrance is still the same!!!! u gonna love it try it!
i'll recommend to try it too Rare Pearls.

I wore the original Rare Gold when I first met my DH & he still loves it. When Avon changed the bottle style, I think they changed something in this, because it now smells different (not near as good). The original (the one with the fan shaped top) was very nice. The honey notes really came out on my skin as in the summer honey bees would buzz around my head LOL (not joking)they love this stuff!.
