mark Celebrate is introduced in 2010. The fragrance is floral, fruity and lively, and containing citrus petals, Mirabelle plum, jasmine and lily of the valley. Available as 50 ml EDT.
I am NO expert but I know what I like and I like this perfume too. It is absolutely a 'fruity floral'. With a certain edge that keeps me re-sniffing to find it. I LOVE the smell right the second sprayed out of the bottle and wish THAT smell would last longer!
Contained in an elegant short square glass bottle that has a very heavy bottom like a whiskey tumbler. The underneath is a purple tone that appears as though the bottle is lit from underneath with a purple light. Nice effect.
Not an every day wear but it will take its place in my fragrance wardrobe.
When I first smelled this perfume, on a brochure "stinky" page, it was kind of dry and unimpressive. Today, however, I received a ten pack of samples from my rep and she asked me to try it, and hand some out to my fragrant friends...
From the mark. magalog:
"A fragrance that celebrates many joys - friendship, love, life and YOU! A blend of citrus petals, star jasmine, mirabelle plum and spring muguet. It heightens every memorable moment. Your best friend's in town. You scored your dream job. You said "yes" and love the ring. It's that feeling you get - a smile from deep within - in fragrance form! Fruity, floral and full of life."
*Also listed in the rep's manual are these additional notes: osmanthus flowers, clean sparkling musk and white woods.*
Celebrate is definitely sparkling. The petals of citrus fruits add a soft sunny, floral smoothness; as opposed to the overly "biting and fresh" aroma of peels that the actual flesh these tart fruits exude. The addition of the subtly sweet mirabelle plum (golden plums that resemble apricots, but are juicier and sweeter) gives this a wonderful fruity succulence. It says "floral fruity" above, yet I sniff this more as a "fruity floral" myself; as the fruits and fruity blossoms (at least at first) define it rather than the flowers. The flowers...a light indolic jasmine blended with a clear green muguet and a lovely honeyed (and again) fruity smelling osmanthus. Overall, it could be said this is rather typical of most mass market fruity/floral scents; but there is something subtle and pleasing going on here that is more intriguing than most of the generic candylike scents littering the counters these days. The scent of a very clean (imagine just bathed) "skin" type musk and sheer white woods in the dry down that just make me smile. I like the tagline for this: "Life is a CELEBRATION!" and I concur. This is a scent that while being appropriate for everyday use (home, office, school & work) is still bright, joyous and uplifting. I also am rather fond of the sparkling perfumed (already in the handle of the brush) powder that was released with this. It has the scent of the perfume, goes on like powdered silk and...it shimmers!! If you like light sweet fruits, "springy" blossoms and elegant yet refined white florals with just a kiss of musk and bright (not heavy or too aromatic) woods, I would say treat yourself to a Celebrate! You deserve it...
Sillage: okay
Longevity: decent
Overall: 3.25/5
My mother, who also was not all that impressed with this-at first, now decided she wants a bottle! It does have a bit of that "House" smell that Avon is known for, but overall it is quite nice. On smelling the ACTUAL perfume, I am vaguely reminded of Grenouille's first victim in the movie "Perfume: Story of a Murderer". A young, pale but beautiful, waif selling mirabelle plums to survive on the streets of 17th century Paris. Rendered speechless by her gorgeous scent; to him she smelled fruity, ever so slightly musky and giving off the most subtly beautiful floral scent of innocence and femininity, it was the quest to preserve her essence that led him to studying perfumery. Do not get me wrong, Celebrate is nice but not something I will be wearing all that often (or killing anybody over); but I must say, it does have its charms and an ever so lovely (though rather common) prettiness!
I recently ordered this and recieved my bottle this week. :) This is a very lovely perfume. Love this. :) It does have a little bite to it though. It isn't listed in the notes but I sensed pepper. Maybe pink pepper? Maybe it's the floral? Haven't smelled enough fragrances to know what kind if it's pink pepper or otherwise.
It opens up with a light airy Freesia with what smells like grapefruit. It isn't a sweet one. It has a touch of sweetness in it's opening which makes it lovely. As it fades into the mid notes, The sweet of the fruit or freesia starts to fade. And it's more straight floral. A light one. It is pretty clean, with no musk or heavy or warm base notes.
But there is a little bit of a sharpness to it, but that is if you spray too much. It is very feminine, light and airy. Perfect for spring! And Family Circle voted one of the best new fragrances. Sorry I forget to catch what month that one came out. I found it online. :)
I do adore this, even though it's not as sweet or vanilla as I sometimes like. It is a perfect spring and daytime scent. It is feminine and uplifting. If you like freesia or light citrus you would love this. :)
The only downside is that unfortunately I am allergic to some fragrances. They make me sick. :( I haven't learned about this to know what ones to avoid? But this one I couldn't keep. :( I am so sad. It smelled lovely. <3
