Bijan Bijan for women

Ahhh, the sweet smell of no pretension. "Bijan" is nothing but golden rich, sultry, warm, ripe, honeyed sweetness. It doesn't care if you think it's trashy, even though it really isn't (it's laid back, that's all). It's not trying to be elegant or angelic or even seductive and vampy (even if it is a hot, litle number).

"Bijan" is nothing but a lush, dense, oil and flower mashing; it makes you feel sexy and languid. There's a kind of sweet tiare/gardenia note, that weaves in and out between amber and honey nectar. There's very little freshness in it; however, a sheer, almost woodsy benzoin resin, "cleans" the orange flower, ylang and tiare, keeping all three from getting skanky. What emerges is this sexy, shower-clean-but-steaming-hot blend of lush florals and honey, seemingly sprinkled with gold dust.

I love this blend and while it might stand-out as too loud on skin that can't handle dense, white florals, on everyone else it will feel like rich, chewy sweetness. Apply gently for an office or school setting and maybe even let it sink in for an hour before heading out. Otherwise, it might be a bit too sexually provocative for a buttoned-up environment. It is hot, hot, hot...

I just want to start off saying, this is probably the best Fall scent on the market. Becuase its notes are simply irrisistable! Amber wood and vanilla beans... that sounds pretty good to me!
The packaging is nice, but not amazing. i mean anyone could make a hole in a perfume bottle. but it takes imagination (like vera wang princess) to create a beautiful setting for a scent. thanks for reading<3<3 autumn

Bijan is a rich deep sweet sexy sultry powdery blend of flowers, vanilla, sandalwood, amber and musk on my skin. For the price the value is amazing - it in no way smells cheap or artificial and in fact seems quite well made and is up to par with many more expensive scents in its range. Silage is INCREDIBLE. Lasting power is MONSTROUS. It is worth so much more than you are required to pay for it. I give it a 9/10 without question.

Actually now I realized it was the edt an I just saw my friend last night she gave me a full size bottle but it was edt. The thing i like about this perfume is the dry down more than the first spray so edp is the best but edt only gives you the first spray smell for the whole time an never goes to dry down so that was disspointing. I want the edp!

One og my older friends gave me her bottle that had a little bit left in it I loved it. It smelled amazing on her an it did on me to. I ran out an I went into ross an I saw the big size for 12.99!! An the gift set was 19.99 I wanted it so bad but I just ran out of money. I hope they still have it in there for when I get payed again.Love this stuff

I got hooked on this scent in the mid 90's, and have not grown tired of it. I don't wear it daily, but i do find myself regularly reaching for it. A single schpritz will last for hours, and I especially love the lingering scent that's slightly spicy-patchouli-woodsy. I've found this to be a fragrance that women tend to dislike and men tend to love. I have both the EDT and the perfume, and like them both.

For everyone that is heartbroken that Fendi by Fendi was disc. this might be your consolation. The opening is nothing like Fendi but the mid notes and especially the dry down are very much like Fendi.

This scent opens with a lot of lilly of valley on my skin among some other unidentifiable florals and I almost panicked because that is not my type of fragrance but then it immediately went to honey and some spices I don't see listed.

Oh the dry down is what I'm all about. Sandlewood, patch, cedar. This would be a woody oriental in my opinion, if not for the carnation. The dry down is divine! This is a powerhouse fragrance like those of the 80's tended to be but I love this and am quite happy with it being my consolation for no more Fendi.

I wore this the other day and I realize I forgot to review it. Silly me. I applied 3 heavy sprays of this perfume. One on my neck, one on my inner elbow and one on my wrists. At first it opens a little on the sharp side but then it milds down within 30 minutes to being a very nice oriental floral blend. It lasts a LONG time and the drydown becomes a soft amber vanilla smell. I love this perfume and don't ever want to be without a bottle. I know this perfume came out the year before I was born but that doesn't put me off. I wear what smells nice. On a side note The bottle looks dated and 80s I know, but I actually think it looks rather cool. I think this is best for evening use, however I'm not one to actually pay attention to that sort of thing and I wear it all day. lol Oh I have the EDP

I absolutely love this perfume! It smells sweet, warm, sexy and spicy all at the same time. I can wear this year round and it always gets compliments. The stuff lasts forever and justs gets better the longer it is on your skin. Bijan perfumes always agree with my chemistry and I love wearing them!!! I will never be without a bottle of this. I can certainly see why Annette Benning loves this stuff so much! Fabulous!

Just as AngelT says above, the opening is like Gloria Vandebilt on steroids, but GV dries settles down much more quickly.

It doesn't work well on my skin at all, and I was very sparing with the application.

I think that if I spray this on a sweater and let the sweater hang for awhile, it is going to be really fabulous (it was the same for GV). I think it just has to be very dry and stay off my skin.

It was an inexpensive blind buy, so I don't feel like I've lost a whole lot.

One of the first fragrances I ever wanted! I still like it for its honey-sweetness. The tuberose and vanilla give it an almost comforting warmth. Unfortunately, it just doesn't seem to suit my skin all these years later so I no longer wear it myself.

I have Bijan Bijan on the back of one hand and Moschino Moschino on the back of the other. After a few hours, I can barely tell the difference. I consider both to be very nice Orientals with good sillage and longevity. I put both on my "love list". I think the Moschino opens up much aharper than the Bijan but after awhile you would be hard pressed to tell the difference. I will try it again and attempt to give a play by play on this siutation.

I can honestly say you cannot go wrong with either of these as long as you love spice and wood. The floral in both is rather hidden by the spices and woods.

This seems to be a favourite of a few movie stars and soul singers! Must try it!

On first spray I get Gloria Vanderbilt on steroids, but it is still changing....getting soapier, more powdery, sweeter and stronger still! I do like it, and it is still changing....very fresh & bright....love the strength!

Reminds me of a few others....maybe Raffinee but more luxurious.....is no Theo Fennel Scent, but I do like it quite a bit....wish Scent lasted this long!!
Spicy to start buts softens, soapy but not quite, as it has a sweetness too...I have a REAL problem with naming notes! Sorry y'all!

I used to have a mini and wear this occasionally, back when it was first released in the late 80s, so was curious to revisit it through a sample of the EdP. It’s still strong and characteristic, but for some reason it seems a little thinner and less skanky than I recall. It could be reformulation, trying to strip down the big 80s scent for contemporary tastes (or contemporary corporate budgets and desired profit margins), or it could simply be that I’ve smelled so many other things in between that Bijan is now a little less unique-seeming than it used to be.

In any case, it starts out with what smells like a concentrated essence of narcissus (that’s the same!) and a touch of a root-beer-like note that I don’t remember smelling before. As it dries down, it takes on a sweet, ambery, floral note that has its own distinct personality. I don’t smell the sandalwood that I remember being there before, so that may have been reduced or eliminated. That’s disappointing. However, the same mildly “skunky” note that makes Bijan unique is there in the drydown. Sillage is major, and longevity is an all-day affair. A tiny dab is enough.

For a cheap perfume, Bijan delivers a distinctive, floral-oriental punch that has character, strength, and lasting power, and is probably one of the best bargains out there on the discounters’ virtual shelves.

Annett Benning's signature scent. havent had the pleasure of smelling this but would love to. I read where Mrs. Benning/Beatty never leaves home without it and wanted to read the notes in it. Sounds strong by the reviews.

To be truthful i wasnt expecting much from this juice at all & had convinced myself it was going to be an extreme power ballad of clashing notes, despite the good reviews.

How wrong was i.

This has been long overdue on my list & im just so sorry that i have put off buying this. I took a chance & bought the whole gift set blind & im pretty chuffed that i did.

It opens fairly powerful but literally seconds later the floral notes awaken to reveal their hidden depth. If a perfume were to be a colour this would be pink...pink rose & pink carnations being the dominant qualities.

Thirty minutes later the benzoin & vanilla join the orchestra to begin the crescendo that plays with my nose.

I find it hard to single out other notes but what i do smell is wonderful. My chemistry allows this juice to be a creamy & comforting floral that hugs closely.

I wont be waiting to empty this bottle before i buy more, i shall be buying more whilst the gift set was a bargain at £16.

A massive winner for me & a very good blind buy.

I abolutely love this scent - warm, spicy, fresh, just sweet enough. I just can't find anything else that suits me quite like this perfume. I know it's been around a long time but some perfumes are destined to remain a keeper no matter how much time passes.

I've tried so many of the new perfumes but I'm frustrated with how awful they smell and how fast the scent disappears. Does anyone have a suggestion for a newer sweet & spicy Oriental perfume that stays with you all day?

This smells like the original Secret De Venus from years ago...Very nice!

This is one of my favorites and have been wearing it since its debut.

You are taken out to dinner by a well dressed man that is different to the guys you have dated in the past. It seems strange but you think this is the one for me and a life long love begins.
If you are not one of the masses and you expect the best is yours for the taking put Bijan on your shelf and watch how you empty it quickly.

I have the EDT and it is not overly strong. I purchased it, untested, relying on the composition of elements listed on this review, particularly the base notes.

BB is not quite what I expected.
I find the opening notes volatile.They give off a throat gripping wave of esters which is not pleasant. I don't believe it is the citrus notes as much as a chemical issue.I would apply the edt well before I intend to leave the house to give it time to settle.

Upon warming on my skin, the scent develops a fruity theme which I did not expect. However, once the honey comes through the scent becomes more approachable.

The final dry down is a winner. The musk and vanilla and tonka bean kick in with depth added by the moss and woods. It is lovely.

Would I buy it again ?
Probably not. There are so many other fragrances out there that come without the trials of Bijan Bijan.
I will take the opportunity to try the perfume EDP should it present, to see if less alcohol in the base sorts out the volatility.

It may be that BB is better suited to a confident young woman who is happy to blast through with it.

I reckon there are enough challenges in life without wrestling with your perfume...

I remember byuing this perfume unsniffed on a sale at an incredible price. Well, all I can say is that I wasn't ready for it to the effect that I DID like the scent but was put off by the strength. With the headache it produced, I decided it was a big NO, so I handed the bottle to my mom, and later lost sight of it. Big mistake, because, as I said, I did like the scent. Reading the reviews here I realized how gross i was to take a full spray of it. This is not testing Bijan - testing Bijan is applying just one tiny dab of this chypre. I so hope that I will get my hands on a bottle again and give it a moderate, appropriate try! My advice: apply sparingly if you want to understand this fragrance.

my friend brought her perfume the other day and i tested out on my skin..it was strong...real strong..its stuck on my skin even though i was it with soap..wow..smell like english leather..but its smell good on women...

I just bought it today and even though the drydown is nice I don't like the over the top, flowery open. If someone wants to try it, contact me for a trade.

I think this is similar to the original Secret De Venus, not the current Secret De Venus. The original Secret De Venus has a tremendous following. The original perfume sells for 150.00 and up to 900.00 on Ebay.

Im going to behave myself with this scent because in all fairness after the dry down occurs it is a nice powdery scent. I have to eat crow on this one because its really very nice in due time-I WAS TOTALLY WRONG WITH MY HARSH REVEIW. Very nice scent with time.
AFTER THOUGHT: I have to say that Bijan is the only perfume ive ever worn that gave me an allergic reaction! Never has a perfume gave me a headache the size of the Grand Canyon and sneezing and running nose! I love this fragrance but it HATES ME!

I think it could replace fendi that we can.t find anywhere.oriental with rose and vanilla.smells fantastic.

Smells like the 80's!

It is a typically strong, sweet, spicy, mid-weight, powdery, honeyed floral scent of its era....everything but the olfactory equivalent of the kitchen sink has been thrown in the mix. One thing's for sure: with sillage this powerful you would be wise to limit your spritzes...unless you are trying to mask the smell of your cigar, clenched between your ruby-red lips!

Brings out the inner b*tch .... you'd love to hate her, but you end up admiring her balls & spirit.

I got this perfume this morning. Been wearing it for about 3 hours. I can already tell you that I love it! It will be one of my favorites. The drydown is gorgeous. Smells like sweet sugary honey, with a warm musk and vanilla. I didn't think it was too strong in the beginning but my body chemistry requires a nice strong perfume and orientals work the best on me. I adore this fragrance.When this bottle is gone I will be buying more.
