oooh 'new orleans'? sounds nice. New one to me!
New Orleans is a lovely scent and was given to me. I find it very hard to write a review here I love this one too much! If you enjoy any of the notes listed you would love this. The essences are so beautiful, very rich, decadent, happy and intoxicating. I have tried and own many fragrances with the name ''New Orleans'' but I must say, not one elixir has given the city justice like Bond No. 9 did with this juice. I also adore the bottle and to be honest it takes my breath away.
This fragrance is just a very wearable gourmand with no gender in my opinion.I love how the entire composition morphs, with each note transposing and floating in layers with the other, each developing on the skin with a warm and radiant glow. Imagine Chinatown with patchouli, more spice and violets...Then you have a reference point for New Orleans I think. I've never understood the negative opinions for Bond No 9 in general...I think the house is honestly blending juice worthy of their steep price tag.
I’m very impressed with the spicy Cajun base in New Orleans. I love patchouli, sandalwood and amber with sprinkles of cinnamon. I close my eyes and can feel the rhythm of Nola. I'm just glad this fragrance smells nothing like crawdads, beer, whiskey or sweet leaf that you might catch whiffs of down on Decatur St.
Go Saints!
It was no mean feat to get my nose on Bond no. 9 "NEW ORLEANS" (even the Manhattan headquarters doesn't carry "it"--or do they? read on...), but happily the Saks counter from Down Yonder replied with customary Southern hospitality and sent not one but two samples my way.
Yes, two. There is a black bottle, for guys, filled with something akin to MONTAUK, and there is a purple bottle, for gals, seemingly filled with CHINATOWN. Okay, Bond boardmembers, I think that it's time to pause, take stock, and begin to think in broader terms about where your dozens of launches are going to fit into the history of perfume.
The bottles are fine as yuppy latte table decorations, but you don't need to re-release the same perfumes in different bottles with different names! Someone might just find out!!!!
