Boucheron Fragrance Reviews

I got a mini EDP of this before making the plunge for a full bottle. I'm glad I did. My mini is of the slightly older release, with the blue cap and gold bands near the top.

This is astoundingly similar to vintage Estee Lauder For Men. I wonder if they came out fairly near each other. Very sweet and soapy citrus floral musk. Impression of elderly statesman from the 1980's. Would probably be a hit with older men.

As for me, a man in his early 50's, I'm not ready for this. I had Estee Lauder For Men for a while, but then let it go. That one is a fine fragrance that feels a little "younger" than Boucheron Homme, but on the same foundation of notes.

purchased this as a 5ml sample along with Boucherons 'Jaipur' edt and sad to say this one doesn't see the light of day anywhere near as much as Jaipur does. Not really my cupa tea but that's not to say it isn't a great frag, because it is. I def get the old man/lady smell. if I were 15-20 years older I might pull this one off but with so many others to choose from the 3ml I have left might have to wait till then. 6.5/10

Serge leaves the shower. He dries himself, sits naked at his computer desk and logs onto his favourite interactive website.
Ahhh, Marianne is online. Serge smiles.
Serge has never met Marianne. Marianne has never met Serge. They will never meet, only online.

Marianne is captivated by Serge's style and elegance. She has never seen Serge and she never will; they do not exchange photographs but she doesn't care.

Marianne is married to Luke but in her heart she knows that Serge is her man, at least on alternate evenings between 8- 9pm and never on weekends.
To Marianne, Serge is everything that Luke isn't. Serge is perfect. Marianne knows this, for sure.

Marianne knows that Serge is smart, sharp, clean and stylish. Serge wears the finest bespoke suits and expensive cologne. He never shops online, he shops in London. He has a chauffeur.

Marianne always asks Serge to describe what he is wearing. She likes to know.
Serge tells Marianne that he is wearing his new black suit by Jasper Littman of Saville Row.
He mentions to Marianne that he is disappointed with his new silver cufflinks; they are a little too heavy. Marianne laughs a little - out loud - then quickly looks over her shoulder before catching her thoughts.

Marianne knows that Serge is attending a dinner party this evening; it's Thursday - that's what he does, every Thursday. She sighs.

Marianne asks Serge what cologne he is wearing. Serge knew Marianne would ask.
Serge types, slowly, checking his spelling.... "Boucheron"
Marianne pauses a little then types: "Oh!" and smiles; wondering what Boucheron smells like. She will never know. She only knows that it if Serge wears Boucheron, then Boucheron is what the perfect gentleman wears. This makes Marianne smile again.
Serge knows this, it makes him smile too.

Marianne says she has to go, Luke is shouting her. She tells Serge she loves him and that Monday evening seems too far away. She wishes him a good evening and types three kisses. Marianne quickly goes offline.
A grin spreads across Serge's face as he closes down the website.

Computer off, he quickly pulls on his Levis and dives into a t-shirt as he struggles to slip into his Adidas trainers.
His bus to town leaves in fifteen minutes.

He rushes into his tiny bathroom; places gel into the palms of his hands and vigorously rubs it into his messy hair. As he sprays his "favourite" Joop onto his unshaven face, he gazes into his mirror then stops. Standing still, he raises one eye-brow, purses his lips then slowly and quietly speaks to himself:
"Bou--che--ron". He laughs.
Grabbing his sports jacket, he slams the door of his shared flat and runs to catch his bus.

In twenty minutes time he will be stood with his friends in a vibrant, trendy bar, drinking lager and telling his friends about his new girlfriend; his new romance.
His friends haven't met her. They never will. His friends never meet his girlfriends.
His girlfriends are always older than he is. They're always busy. They have separate lives.
So does Serge.

Wonderful, intriguing perfume. I bought a 5ml sample and after 1 wear, was compelled to purchase a (beautiful) 100ml bottle.
It's notes are well documented elsewhere. I find it to be a high quality, unique and extremely long lasting fragrance on a skin that usually devours the very best perfumes, often without a trace.
This fresh, citrusy and masculine scent is worthy addition to my collection and a certainty for regular outings. Suitable for work and play in my opinion. Thank you all for leading me so competently to make this stunning blind purchase :-)

My first review. Here it is:

Scent: 6/10
Sillage: 9/10
Longevity: 8/10 (8 + hours)
Overall: 23/30 (Quality, but not for me)

Comment: My very subjective opinion is that it´s not for me. It may very well be that classy scent many of you think it is and I do respect that. Unfortunarly for me more than anything it´s a scent from the early 90´s and I do believe it belongs there. It feels dated. I just can´t go back there. If You like it go ahead though, it´s powerful and long lasting, and You will be noticed.

I see many people describe this scent as citrus-y, but I want to warn that it's not a basic fresh citrus, the scent opens with a smell of heavy orange-lemon oil, the citrus note is thick and warm and lemon-verbena gives richness to the opening.Vetiver, incense are not very loud and for this reason many women enjoy it,sandalwood gives the scent an oriental vibe.Floral notes are in the background, but blended very well.
I'd say that this scent is very unique, has its own character; perhaps it is one of those scents that are loved, collected and remembered but rarely used.
For sure, if you will use minimum of this scent (1 spray on chest)- you will be noticed, but you will not be understood if you work close with people, office, hospital, etc.
Some people might call this scent an outdated; I'd like to say that that it's not true, just find a proper occasion and clothing and you will rock this scent.
The era of heavy, rich and intelligent colognes is over, but Boucheron is still alive, still wearable and classy.Appreciate the rich goodness and longevity of this powerhouse, but please, don't abuse it.

Ordered this for my husband, just got it today. I sprayed it on my wrist and went omg this smells just like my soir de lune by sisley. So I went and grabbed my soir de lune and sprayed it on my other wrist. Cannot tell the difference. Check the notes for yourself or go smell both at a department store and see if you don't agree with me, lol.

Best citrus which came after Eau Sauvage and Eau de Guerlain! 4.5 from 5 - 95 P from 100 - smart citrus – An optimum between classic elegance and modern smartness. Boucheron is overlooked by so many people, but is so worthwhile to look for. Its citrus works very innovative, you never had this kind before, though seeming classic, no experiment. Some spice, fresh and aromatic, very "non-chalant", like a modernized Eau Sauvage, and in the base with something what I call glimmer of nacre. A bright, positive atmosphere like Beethoven's Song of Joy, harmonized but not streamlined. God forbids that they screw it up, or discontinue. -
SPLASH IT ONTO YOURSELF – AND IT WILL SPLASH YOU WITH PLEASURE!

I reviewed this before, so this is more of an observation regarding application. Boucheron is very strong (EDT). I wore this to work a while back, and used two sprays, one on each side of the neck. That's too much, and let me tell you that people on my floor noticed I'd been there. This only needs one spray, and I'd actually spray one time on the chest. It sticks to clothing quite well, so it will help carry the fragrance throughout the day.

One spray of Boucheron is all you need. Still one of my all time favourites.

Please can anyone tell me if there is any difference between the vintage one and the special edition (2014 i think)La collection Du Joaillier cologne for men edt(the bottle in the fourth picture above).
I am looking for an easy to wear perfume with high quality for spring/summer seasons and i have found the second one online in my country but there is not the possibility to check this out on me in a local perfume store before buy it online so it is going to be a blind buy.
I have already suggested about white for men by Lalique or YSL Kouros Cologne sport for men, any comparisons??

Thanks in advance
(02/04/14)

UPDATE
The best way to have an answer to my question above is to find out how does the original smell like and if the result fulfill my expectations. Accidentaly today I discovered a bottle of theoriginal in a great bargain so I had the opportunity to test it on me to see how it cooperates with my body chemistry and my type of skin. The result was magical!!!!! It is the greatest and smartest based citrus compose in my opinion. It isn't boring at all, ithas great quality of ingredients, projects like a beast, very long lasting and the most important has great versatility. I am very glad that I got this gem in an excellent price of 18 euros/50ml(1.7 oz).
I always get perfumes just for me to fulfill my tastes and lift my mood high not to impress the opposite sex but I am sure that this one will be a real compliment magnet!!!!!
So I am ready now to order online the special edition that i refered above knowing that this will be another one hit and i can't go wrong.
IN BOUCHERON WE TRUST!!!!!!!
Merci.......

Boucheron Pour Homme by Boucheron

SUBJECTIVE

This classic fragrance from the 90s is an absolute beast. So very masculine, Boucheron Pour Homme is a force that will take down the competition around you. Spicy and citrusy, this cologne is among the most dynamic and complex fragrances in my collection. With a line-up of notes too long to be listed, brace yourself that will either slap you or embrace you.

Beginning with a blast of citrus and spice, this one takes many turns (offering a hint of floral notes here and bergamot there) before finally setting down a base primarily consisting of woods, tonka bean and incense. Far from what you might find at the gourmand counter, this one reminds of a time when colognes were masculine and when winter scent did not smell like food.

For when you feel bold and brave, Boucheron Pour Homme will attract attention and will let others know that you mean business. Leave this one for a night out with the guys, the gender with which this fragrance does quite well. Certainly not for work, reserve this one for when it is okay to smell loud. It is also best to wear among people who know you, as its daring nature may easily come across as offensive. Also respect this scent by not applying it in the heat or before a workout.

OBJECTIVE

One of the most powerful designer fragrances (comparable to Le Mâle by Jean-Paul Gaultier and Angel Men by Thierry Mugler), this one projects quite intensely for a full day with only a couple sprays to the chest and neck. While not particularly cloying or overpowering close up, this one is easily able to saturate a full room. For this reason in particular, this fragrance is not suitable for school/work. If this performance is that of the eau de toilette version, you can only imagine the potency of its eau de parfum counterpart.

IMPRESSION

A fine masculine fragrance to which you will reach when you feel the urge to be noticed, this citrusy-spicy-woody king has an unparalleled performance. While not intended as a receiver of compliments (from the females), this one will be most appreciated by fragrance enthusiasts (nowadays at least). You cannot go wrong adding this one to an existing collection though, as there are very few recent releases that have even tried to emulate Boucheron Pour Homme.

PLAN

Wishful readers under 25 years old, pass on this one. If you are a manly man (e.g. lumberjack) or someone who sole purpose for wearing cologne is not to seduce the opposite gender, then this one might very be for you. Take you time finding your way to this prize in my eyes, as it has been around for decades and is not going anywhere anytime soon. ★★★★

Boucheron Pour Homme it’s a truly beautiful classic.
Somehow, it reminds me Armani’s Pour Homme or Givenchy’s Gentleman in their finest hour. Having the eau de toilette and the after shave balm, I consider myself being the lucky one. My bottle was produced in 2005 – and I don’t know if it was reformulated since then.
It is a fragrance suited for a gentleman who wisely & peacefully enjoys the summer – with citruses, vetiver, jasmine and a hint of carnation.
As another catch-phrase says, it’s not for the boys – it is only for the grown-ups. Try before you buy it, of course, but remember that detail: an elegant man is required in order to fully appreciate this one.
A deserved 9+/10.

esta fragancia es una de mis favoritas:
abre demasiado fuerte, al cabo de unos minutos se hace menos intenso el aroma a cítricos, enseguida de se hace intenso el aroma a incienso y sándalo,
al final de algunas horas las flores están ahí

A bit like "Colonia" Acqua di parma, on the opening; it has that dry, spicy soap quality that you always get from citrus and lavender.

The drydown, however, is more Eastern than Mediterranean, as the incense and Oriental florals overtake the citrus. It feels hazy and slightly powdery, but not too heavy.

Overall a beautiful, sophisticated scent which is suitable for most occasions, daytime and evening.

Sophistication and elegance in a bottle. Boucheron is one of my absolute favorite scents.

A beautiful lemon verbena opening leads into a mix of jasmine, rose and carnation...not an overpowering floral but well-balanced. Incense notes float above an amazing sandalwood and vetiver base.

Excellent longevity and projection for the EDT...easily becomes a beast when oversprayed.

Classic.

I think it's the most beautiful lemon-citrus-vetiver perfume i've worn! It's invigorating, uplifting, truly long-lasting (10 hours+), and somehow reminds me of older magnificent bathsoaps, that are no longer made!

I know that some consider it an old man's scent, but i'm neither, and i believe it's a masterpiece!

My carded sample of Boucheron pour Homme eau de parfum is obviously old, as the ingredients listed are only these:

SD Alcohol 39-C, Fragrance, Water, and Benzophenone 2

Further evidence is the blast of unmentioned oakmoss (evernia prunastri) in this composition. There is so much oakmoss here, that in a blind test I'd have immediately identified the liquid in my vial as an old lady classic chypre!

The third reason why I'm pretty sure that this sample may be of the original perfume is that the citrus notes have all "burnt off", as vintage aficionados are wont to say. So what is left is a woody, oakmossy, only slightly floral and not at all citrusy perfume.

Boucheron pour homme eau de parfum (pre-Y2K) smells wonderful and is basically a walk down memory lane to a time when complex perfumes were the rule, not the exception. There is nothing specifically masculine about this scent. It's a unisex woody chypre, when all is said and sniffed. No cologne guy; no flowers and candy. A much more serious perfume affair...

This morning's experience is a perfect example of what some of us have been talking about of late: that different perfumes decay and change at different rates, so there is absolutely no way of saying what *your* vintage sample or bottle may smell like. I can only speak for mine!

This is my Dad's formal perfume and it smells wonderful. citrus/floral and then turns somewhat woody/ herbal in the drydown. never got a bottle for myself as its my dads thing though I do steal a spritz now and then. It is more suit and tie than jeans and a T, meant to be taken seriously. 35 and older I think. some similarity to Cerruti 1881 to my nose in the initial notes. recommended.

This does present itself as rich and luxurious, and I liked the lemon suckerpunch at first, but then it seemed to get stale as time goes by. The combination of florals and woods that appears should be great on paper, but it's just a little too pompous. It's a plate of citrus fruits next to a gorgeous bouquet in a stately manse, in which the air has grown stuffy due to lack of use. This feels too awkwardly formal to me in a way that even the most distinguished woody orientals don't. I finally couldn't deal with it anymore and got rid of it.

@SuperBaloo, I agree. Like with most colognes that have been around for some years, it has undergone some reformulations, and as always the original was by far the best.
That is why a general comment is rather worthless if not knowing which version is at hand.
Reformulations as a whole are sad indeed.

Found this at Ross for $30..so i thought i would try. Definately an old school smell but very complex and layered. The opening is slightly harsh and drydown gets woody and soapy with a quorum try fir smell in the background. There are so many notes listed i just do not smell them all but it is definately a work of art and a very manly bold smell....with an edge that may put some in nausea or headacheville....but its on the edge in that respect so some may feel put off by this..at least initially. I am really having fun with old school scents like oscar pour lui/quorum/ sung home and now boucheron...It comes closest in drydown to quorum to my nose..with quorum being a bit smoother..

Stunning.

Warm, complex and beautifully created and presented.
The complexity that surprised me is the mix between traditional masculine notes like oakmoss, vetiver, sandalwood and lavender to be so well tied in with the quite feminine notes of orange, jasmine and the other flowers. This gives a continued freshness with never ending complexity and warmth. This is something I love about Issey Miyake Intense – and adore about this one.

I agree this is a mature fragrance, but I don’t agree you must be 50+ as many have said on here. I believe it is too floral to be classified as for the older only. I am 23 and I have the confidence to wear this when I wear a suit and dress up. It only takes a mature attitude and a touch of class to pull this off. Body Kouros is mature, so is Ricci Club. But Boucheron is all about class and doesn’t remind me of any uncle or older man.

To me, I find the incense, the orange, sandalwood, florals and base notes beautifully dominate this fragrance. I found the lemon and bergamot top notes disappear quite early (which was good as I found their domination quite generic).

Absolutely wonderful.

Whenever I wear this and catch a whiff of it, I feel like turning off my computer, and leave work in the middle of the day.

Putting on my headphones, play some laidback house music, putting on vintage Cartier sunglasses, the Omega De Ville Hour Vision, a pair of Gant chinos and a crisp white button down shirt.

On a journey to find a woman to share the rest of the day with, having her melt in my arms when the evening comes.

You can pull off the aforementioned with ease wearing Boucheron Pour Homme. At least that's the feeling I get when Boucheron is on my skin.

Life is short.

Thanks goodness Karlovonamesti pointed out this could be unisex. Probably about fifteen years ago we went to dinner with another couple who we're god friends with, in another city. They found out it was my birthday and presented me with this small package which contained this in EdT. I knew less then about perfumes than I know now (which isn't much, LOL) so I thanked them and once I returned home, I spritzed it on a few days later. At the time I thought it rather masculine and stronger than most of my other perfumes , but after the initial spray it mellowed and I rather liked it.

I wore it off and on for a couple of years, then sort of forgot about it. I still smell the bottle occasionally and I still like it, but now I know it's a men's fragrance so I haven't worn it again. I don't think my friends realized this when they gave it to me, because we were in Caesars in Las Vegas and I think they just ran into a store to buy me a little gift for my birthday, and didn't know what pour homme meant (at the time I didn't either). Maybe I can try it on my husband who rarely wears scent.

Now I plan to try the female version!!

remembering when I first purchased this in the early 90's I think, was just blown away with it, so masculine and yet there was an air of loveliness to it that was undeniable. I saved it for special occasions or when I just wanted to stand out a little.i still have about a quarter of a bottle left , it sets on my dresser, so many new fragrances to discover and I have to say this one still stands out as a fantastic fragrance for men, if you have not gotten a chance to smell this one I think you have missed out on a great fragrance. elegant and classy.still among my favorites.

I have an original after shave, it´s perfectly strong for me. It´s not as citrusy as e.g.YSL pour homme, but just as classy, the closest resemblance migh be old Dunhill, which also is a masterpiece, like this is. Love it, very high quality.

Edit: I think I change my mind a little, does anyone else think it´s maybe more close to the first Gucci pour homme?

A wave of sparkling and extremely green-fresh citrus dominated by bergamot, lemon and lavender bursts forth upon application, but the initial explosion quickly makes way for an elegantly soapy concoction of herbaceous florals and mildly sweet wood beneath. The citrus opening remains throughout, but in a more restrained fashion. The dry down sweetens as the flowers bloom and the resins warm, with the barest hint of smoke behind the freshness.

I'm not quite sure what to make of the composition. If the scent were a soap, I would probably luxuriate in using it from time to time, but it's almost too extravagant a smell for my every day use. It's exceptionally clean smelling, in an opulent sort of way. The blending is exceptional on this one. Projection is considerable and longevity impressive. Quite unisex. I can't wait to try this one again in warmer weather.

I'm not a fan of this one.

It has something in it that throws it off a bit. Some sort of "tangy", aromatic that I don't care for.

I have other citrus blends that I like much better. Gio is my favorite but D&G Light Blue and Claiborne Curve are both better than this one.

Despite the fact that Boucheron is more known for its jewelery(as the lid testifies) than its parfums, this frag is good. In my opinion the base notes make this frag special.Otherwise it would be a typical citrus frangrance.the spicy and woody notes make it a good choice and for people who dont like so much citrus frags.I agree with the guys who think that is classic and sophisticate smell.I prefer it one evening time but is not my first choice for special occasions. It last 6-7 hours and the sillage is good. For those reasons it will be one standar choice at the future.

I own the EDT. Very mature fragrance. For the mature gentleman. Not for young whipper-snappers. This one is for your grown and classy evenings. A fancy outing will work well with this fancy fragrance. Not for everyone's nose - TEST BEFORE YOU BUY!

Very curious to try the EDP.

This is mostly a lemony/powdery wood oriented fragrance when you get to the drydown. It's got a tiny bit of sweetness but it's not animalic at all. There is no strong lavender, herbs, or spices. It is rather blended but never is blob-like, which to me is an indication that the perfumer had talent (with this kind of composition). There is simple yet effective dynamism. I've only tried the EdP formulation from an old bottle, so keep that in mind. A good office fragrance for the "older" guy so long as it's not too hot or cold, but it's also got enough going on, along with naturalness, to be an aficionado favorite (at least rotation worthy). A more niche-like idea is Homme de Gres.

UPDATE: It gets a little sweeter over time but the wood is always present. The powdery quality loosens up a bit too.

This is my least favorite of all time for men, it's so over powering and a complete turn off to me.
It smells like it's trying too hard to be classy & chic. It smells like it wants to be something special & it just isn't.
Lingers on and on and on and in a way that's offensive. Maybe the guys I've smelled wearing it sprayed too much. It forms a powder cloud. U can't breath around this stuff it's suffocating. Nothing sexy about this one to me, nothing fresh and exciting.
Please please tell me Notice me and tell me I smell good and that I'm classy. No! I won't

Different perfumes react differently from person to person. This perfume remains on of my all time favorites. Well balanced between citrus, flowery, woody, musky and aromatic ingredients is just right. I can detect mostly the lemon and mandarin, the Jasmin, the amber and musk. The rest just blends in a classy way and the mix manages to give the overall citrus-aromatic effect. A classical fragrance good for any time of the day..

Elegant, refined, polished classic. This Boucheron masterpiece is one of my husband's favorites. The fragrance has a sense of nobility to it; it is neither loud or overbearing. It's a very classy "gentleman's" fragrance...think Carey Grant or Gregory Peck in a tuxedo...handsome, mannerly, and very intriguing...sexy without trying too hard. Like these gentlemen, its character speaks for itself and it draws you in with its unpretentious and timeless charm. I love this for my husband as I love Boucheron for Women for myself. The House of Boucheron has proven, through these beautiful classics, that it is committed to the ART of creating high-quality, upscale fragrances. And, as long as that is the case, I am committed to purchasing them.

Thanks to LOVING THE ALIEN I re visited this scent. Upon smelling it I purchased the EDP without question.

WHY

I fell for Cristalle Eau Verte by Chanel during my hunt for a good chypre. Although Eau Verte is quite satisfying it doesnt have the herbal bitterness that I was looking for in a chypre. What to do...purchase both bottles !

I guess I wasnt ready for Boucheron years ago. It smelled too muddled and too blobbish to me. These days I am thrilled to have something of such quality still in production.

In the same vain as YSL Pour Homme and Balmain de Balmain. If anything Balmain may be a contender but to my memory is a much lighter scent. YSL por homme in its current formulation cannot hold a candle to Boucheron.

Citrus dry slightly green DEEP herbal floral chypre with just a hint of musk in the base to soften it up.

The wearer owns a Jaguar and perhaps a Linclon in the garage. He thrived during the 70s but never forgot the style and elegance that went with it. He is french or he is american. Perhaps he keeps a home in both places...mature sophisticated and not easily swayed by fruity Kool Aid blends.

A true winner for the adult man that doesnt forget what style is in an era of backwards baseball caps and shabby chic. Not this guy.

Lovers of classic cologne much try this gem.

Boucheron is an extremely interesting fragrance, marked by its peerless soapiness, powdery ambiance, and intense floral characteristics. I'd like to point out first and foremost that even though it's geared for men, Boucheron is completely unisex. A woman of any age could very easily pull this off with no questions asked. She just needs to look past the first five minutes of somewhat-manly citrus and lavender. But even that opening accord isn't strictly masculine. It's more like your standard 80s feminine perfume in drag. This is Marlene Dietrich in a tuxedo. Sexy, a little different, a little scary, a whole lot of cool.

The heart opens up as a dandified floral arrangement of powder-softened rose, lavender, jasmine, air-freshened geranium, and waxy-spicy carnation. There are times where this aspect of the fragrance borders on being a little too "high-class hotel soap," and it's right on the line of unwearable for me, only because of its incredible lye, cold-pressed feel. However, it manages to stay on the right side of the fence, and after an hour becomes incredibly cool, plush, and luxurious, with a brilliant synthetic sandalwood butching the base. Three hours later, this cool soapy feeling, now smooth and lightly powdered, eases off into the sunlight with the sandalwood. What a pleasant development.

I highly recommend this fragrance. It's relatively inexpensive, clearly made with very high quality synthetics and perhaps a few natural nuances, particularly in that crystalline citrus top, which I really appreciate, being a citrus fan. Guys, if you're afraid I've described something that's too feminine, keep the manly citrus opening in mind. The lavender never really goes away, either. To me, lavender is an essential masculine herb. Boucheron is a work of well-designed elements, each part moving in graceful synchronicity, with the goal of making even the crudest brute smell like a millionaire. Five stars.

I was cleaning out my bathroom cupboard when I came across a bottle of this, left by a former beau back in the 90s. I decided to wear it to work and found that this is a fragrance where opinion is divided by age.

Everyone over 40 thought is smelled sophisticated and elegant, whereas everyone under 30 thought it was old and musty. As for me, I think it's somewhere between the two.

Boucheron is a cascade of citrus the first time I heard it I was stunned, after you have sprayed perfume and got in his car: I found most annoying, but the discomfort was very strong due to traffic and a day of strong wind; but it came close to home I had a different impression of citrus were fading in a shady area where I could catch hints of herbs and something similar to that perfume that is released when the hedges are cut gradually over time remained as a hint soap powder that was very chic stabilizing the skin.
He has crazy longevity, the bottom reminds me of Paco Rabanne Calandre, Boucheron is definitely a good perfume, but do not abuse it because a few drops can be devastating, you get a feeling for him as Aladdin did with his genius ...... only then can unleash its magic ...

Ouch! A light spray of the edp on my skin.... what smelled ok on paper turned into a nose/throat burning monster to me. Certainly got lemon rind (maybe some bergamot too?), but in an unpleasant, soapy way. If a chypre has citrus top notes, Boucheron has it in spades, but not in the breezy Florida orange grove kind of way. It certainly has staying power, but after about 6 hours I had to wash it off.... "Out, damnned spot! Out I say!"

My apologies if I offend any who gave this positve reviews, but this is really the first fragrance I just can't handle. It is fascinating however, to see such a wide range of opinions on this one.

I'm not sure what you have to do to deserve smelling this good. It smells like cheap perfume - sure - but only to someone who makes a snap decision about what they are smelling. It is the most perfect rendition of what I can only assume the cheap perfumes are trying to be, and winds up smelling like the most expensive scent on earth and knocks many other highly regarded citrus scents into a cocked hat. Move over YSL PH.

Boucheron launched it first scent for men in 1991. I didnt discover it until 2000. It was never promoted in US markets and I stumbled upon it at a closeout store. It quickly became my all time favorite signature. I guess it was waiting for me. I have never detected it on anyone else.

After the citrus burst opening, it never fails to wake me up in the morning, comes flowers! Yes this is the male floral that finally works for me. Its up in your face carnation, iris, jasmine and ROSE! All weaved with warm vetiver. It is so carefully crafted that it never becomes feminine. The base notes of amber, sandalwood, oakmoss and smokey incense last all day. It never falters. There is a bitterness to it that I enjoy. This is indeed fine art of mens fragrance!

Over the years, I have bottles of all strength. The EDT is not as powdery. The EDP projects and last a good 24 hours. I have noticed some reformulation, yet it doesnt really change this brilliant composition, unlike its female counterpart. I may be wrong, as my bottles are at least 5 years old.

This is the fragrance of royalty and celebrity. However, it is casual enough for jeans and a t-shirt-generally my casual wear. Refined, elegant and timeless...

This starts off with a nice blast of citrus for me then dries down after an hour or so to something rather elegant. Has a bit of an old lady smell, perhaps because this is from the early 90s, more in line with that time perhaps. Certainly a good aroma that lasts all day, or it did for me. Two squirts and I was good to go and I was wondering if 2 was too much. But, it settled in nicely, did not offend anyone and seemed just OK to me. A classic and a great product, just not one that will make you stand out from the crowd. Seems unexciting to me, but at times that is just fine.

It's high-end, aristocratic, refined, but with a little bit of sensuality woven in, which makes it more versatile than Baldessarini. It's not as distant as that cologne is, but it's not as sensual or as nutty/spicy as Dunhill's Desire for Men. It makes me feel a little bit egotistical, but also discriminating and established.

The projection is moderate and unthreatening. It works fine even in 90 degree heat, though I'd imagine that it spreads better and is thus more effective in colder temperatures.

It's constant. It settles quickly upon the skin and remains unchanged through its lifetime, which was about 8 hours in the heat. I really can't see this as a casual scent - work, date, and formal occasions would be its forte`.

Boucheron PH is certainly an elegant, citrusy, chypre fragrance. Starts off with a very loud citrus/lemon opening that progresses into floral / soapy mid notes. The middle phase reminds me of Bogart for Men or Kanon (although they are both greener).

Like many others have stated, I also thought that BPH was just a little too "old ladyish". When I'm in the mood for a lemony fragrance, I like Bulgari Extreme, which I find smoother (and younger), without sacrificing elegance or I like Lacoste (original) which I find less floral. I even like the dirt cheap, lemony Halston 1-12 better than Boucheron.

Not bad...just middle of the road for me. I just couldn't justify the purchase.

*This review is for the EDP version* Thanks weegee!!

I took the "Find Your Signature Scent" test on a retailer's website and this was what they said was MY signature scent! After smelling it I would tend to agree...

This is an elegant manscent that reeks (in a good way) of wealth and sophistication! It begins citrusy, yes; but, the lovely greens and wonderful lavender note make it so much more than a citrus scent alone. This begins rather sharp and bright, but calms down to a very sweet flowery heart. Dry spicy carnation dominates and cool iris whisper subtly, as sensual rose, ylang and jasmine ooze refined sex appeal and muguet adds a light green facet to this gem. The drydown is warm and very clean for so many oriental notes. The tonka and benzoin are warm and resiny along with the sweet amber. The oakmoss and vetiver give it a manly green earthy feel and the musk is just divine. The orris is cool and subtle and incense adds a tinge of richness without any smokiness. This scent is VERY impressive and almost piney green with very elegant florals and bright citrus feel. Simply Stupendous!!

Sillage: great
Longevity: very good
Overall: 4.75/5

I would imagine that any concentration (or flanker version) of this would be just awesome! I am now contemplating a LE Parfum de Joallier Boucheron EDT in the purple bottle from a discount retailer, though am afraid it will not be as rich with elegant florals in the heart. Boucheron IS quality, class and elegance in a bottle...

I am absolutely in love with this fragrance. What a classic and sophisticated perfume it is. It reminds me of lime and citruses full of maturity and zest. Starts with lots of lime then dries down quietly into woody tone with notes of vetiver and benzoin.
Perect for springs and winters.
Good silage but average longevity.
I give it 8.2 out of 10.

I purchased a bottle of Boucheron Parfums de Joaillier BOUCHERON POUR HOMME special edition on a whim. The bottle was beautiful, I respect Boucheron, and the price was drastically slashed, so I figured that I had nothing to lose: either I'd like it, or I'd find a male friend who did!

Turns out that I like this one very much. The notes listed on the back (this is a tester with cap) are:

Bergamot
Verveine
Coriandre
Rose
Santal

My guess is that these are dominant notes and probably there's a lot more going on here, as in the original BOUCHERON. This parfum de joaillier is classified as woody citrus, but honestly it might as well be an early twentieth-century Guerlain chypre or fougère made for women or men. The depth and complexity are superb. Although the composition is detectably citrus, especially in the early stages, the lemon verbena note is so limpid and fresh that it feels like a ray of sunshine cutting right through a classic chypre. As the sun begins to set, the flowers come out of hiding, along with various green and woody notes. Eventually, the drydown brings forth a tinge of soapiness.

This exquisite composition, with big sillage and excellent longevity, on top of everything else, is housed in a dark mauvish-purple enameled bottle with silver accents. I think that I'll keep this *perfume* for myself, after all! (-:

This fragrance will always be on my favourite list. Usually I do not like citrus scents, but Boucheron is different. Boucheron is not that sports/sweet/casual citrus scent. It`s a very refined, luxurious, formal, and elegant citrus that dries down to a classic aromatic chypre. Don`t let the lemony opening notes scare you. The classy dry-down has that refined elegant vibe, that smells very expencive. A stylish outfit is a must with this scent. A perfect fragrance for Mr. Gordon Gecco and Don Draper. A must for fuzzy gentlemen. After 20 years in production, it has proven to be a real classic!

WOW! Vive Boucheron!
Not only are their jewellery creations breath-takingly beautiful, intricate, ornamental, artistic and exuding so much French "je ne sais quoi". If this perfume was a car, it would be a vintage Rolls-Royce.
And that is exactly how I felt when I discovered it...only just recently after I discovered Jaipur (that I could think of as the more modern Italian Maserati).
Both "cars" are fabulous in their own right but the sporty and triumphant, boastful "Maserati" is best used in moderation and at night (on cold days) whereas this classic fragrance can be used for daytime, still preferrably in the warmer time of year.
It oozes elegance, sophistication, floral beauty, but docile enough to not scare off your boss.

I thought Armani Homme was my ultimate "classic vintage car", now it seems the crown goes to "Boucheron pour homme".

The ultimate creation for the classic Romantic (that's me)!

Marveilleux!

There are many options when it comes to know how a gentlemanly chypre smells like.

The first option would be Chanel pour Monsieur, but unfortunately it seems it is not being distributed in the USA.

Alternatively, you can try Homme de Grès, but it has been discontinued.

A good alternatve would be Boucheron pour Homme. But, if, by chance you can't try it, Bamacharm's review does give you a good idea how it is like.
