Jaipur Homme Fraicheur (for men)

I think this is a lot different than Jaipur Homme. Yes, it is lighter but that doesn't mean it's simply the original with less intensity. The Fraicheur version is missing some of the notes that are found in the original. For instance, I get none of the benzoin and tonka bean which give the original its powdery & vanilla essence. Additionally, I find that the heart in Fraicheur is a little less floral.

Fraicheur opens with a burst of bergamot. The nutmeg is very light, almost negligible. I detect a hint of cinnamon then it settles into a warm patchouli which fights for dominance against a very wonderful cedar. I think the cedar eventually controls the drydown.

Fraicheur is nowhere near as sweet as the original nor does it share its ability to project. It wears very close to the skin. It is nevertheless a fine fragrance best suited, in my opinion, for casual wear or those formal occasions during the summer when a heavier cologne is not appropriate.

Bear in mind that there are two versions of Jaipur Fraicheur. The other is the Fraicheur Epicee version released in 2004. It is quite different than this 2006 Fraicheur version. I love the Boucheron line of fragrances so I give this a big thumbs up.

It`s a good scent for a hot summer. Clean, sweet, bright fragrance, with spicy woody notes on top. It is powdery like the original, but Jaïpur Homme Fraicheur is a bit more subdued and won't lead to headaches! Got it for a birthday, and highly recommend it as an alternative to the original Jaïpur Homme. This is a very well done "fresh" version.
