Trouble by Boucheron

For: women Designer: Boucheron Olfactive Group: Oriental Floral

New Boucheron perfume especially represents the trouble for men since it is very dangerous. Here, everything begins even before the very pleasure of sense of smell. Bottle has ultimately elaborated design: gold, precious emerald on the lid and dark ruby glass…The bottle speaks much about the character of the perfume before the very scent. The perfume is fresh oriental, but the troubles begin from the first impressive notes which lead into ravishing floral heart of the perfume. Passionate woodsy notes are getting involved with deep and sensual floral melody. That involvement gives a powerful nature to the perfume. Trouble is available in Eau de Toilette (50 and 100 ml), Eau de Perfume (15 ml) in spray with glamorous spraying pump. The perfume was introduced in 2004. The nose behind this fragrance is Jacques Cavallier.

Nice soft perfume. Smells very similar to hypnotic poison, just weaker/lighter.This would almost be a good sub for hypno if it had better staying power and strength.I would definitely recommend this if you like Hypnotic but it's too strong for you.Trouble lasted less than an hour whether on my skin or clothes.I think I'll get the lotion and see if layering will give it more depth, because the hubby really likes this and it has such a pretty bottle.

Although I believe that Boucheron's TROUBLE is misnamed, this is a beautiful fragrance with an alluring mystery note which emerges just after the bright and shortlived lemon opening. The same note is found in Calvin Klein TRUTH--uncoincidentally created also by Jacques Cavallier, who clearly does not show all his cards, as the notes listed are perfectly ordinary and do not overlap in such a way as to explain the kinship of TROUBLE and TRUTH.

The secret ingredient that makes TROUBLE a second-cousin to TRUTH, while also marking this fragrance as distinctive in its oriental floral category, is a resin--probably synthetic--of some sort. I like it as a note and it also imparts a thickness and substantiality that gives both the floral midstage and the amber-vanilla in the drydown something to cling to.

TROUBLE has good staying power in the edp and is a scrumptious, creamy and slightly sweet wrist-sniffer which I intend to add to my collection.

This scent reminded me (slightly) the JPG classique (perfume that I used for a long time), but softer and without that excess characteristic. I have the edt that exhaled quickly and did not set very well. I live in hot weather is perfect for day-to-day. but I realize that the proposed intensity in the construction of this perfume is to a feme fatale. perhaps the edp fulfill this role.

Sweet woody floral vanilla...really nice from start to finish. The woody notes give it a spicy quality and the jasmine and vanilla round it off with just a hint of citrus lasting (right theres no vanilla listed in the notes but it has a lovely vanilla aura). Soft, subtle, and mysterious. Possibly a bit too heavy for a hot summer day, but in cool weather it's lovely. Definitely a great evening fragrance. Now I must try Trouble eau Legere!

~ Just wanted to add, for those who may be wary of the citrus notes, they start strong, and yes the opening could be compared to a "furniture polish", a really nice smelling one, about 10 min. in those notes fade dramatically. Around an hour later the citrus notes become very soft and a lovely vanilla style aroma sets in, which is when I like it best.

This perfume was such a plasent surprise to me. I bought this one unsniffed because of the mysterious name and sexy bottle. The bottle actually looks like something you put poison inside and the one who drinks it is going to fall in love with you. Or maybe it is just my imagination :)

Anyway, it is really sweet perfume, with lemony hints. It reminds me of a very sweet cake with rose syrup. I am so in love with this perfume. Great for evenings or cold days. It is very intense and long lasting.

It's very special. It smells really good on a cold day, as i find that sweet vanilla type perfumes tend to be a little too 'sticky' in the warmer summer months. Beautiful fragrance, i got mine for a tiny $5 (Au) because i just happened to be passing a pharmacy when they were clearing out all their testers, and it was only sprayed a couple of times and full to the top.

trouble is a warm sensual comforting scent. I guess most men would like it eventhough it's not very loud. Trouble has notes of lemon, foxglove, jasmine, amber, cedar, and vanilla. I think it would be a lovley signature scent rather than something that you put on in the evenings when you want to leave a heavy trail. I would like to have it someday, but there´s no rush. It´s not a "must have"... Or maybe it is? The drydown is addicting. The bottle too.

wow i can really see why this is called trouble! this scent is quite "vampy" in its opening. i like it much better once it dries down. but it definitely is a head turner and one to excite! you must try it to understand.

Boucheron Trouble is to me the perfect example of name not suitable for the juice. When I hear "Trouble" as name of a perfume, I think of a perfume very unconventional, very strong, intense and not loved by many people, but only by the ones bold enough to wear it!
Trouble is quite the antithesis of that, as it is such a warm, comforting fragrance. It wraps around you silently, slowly, but surely, just like the snake that's so symbolic for it and part of the bottle's design. In this case, I believe that the snake is not a representative for SIN, but for insinuation, for slowly penetrating your space and your senses.
Boucheron smells like rice pudding to me, I get strong rice and milky notes, with a nice dollop of honey ( not sugar or sugary!).
It is somehow sultry, but not sexy, carnivorous or animalic. I tend to associate it with "I love you", rather than "I'm in love with you"-it is the scent of feelings long-lasting, settled couples and mutual affection. Definitely for your husband, not your lover, type of scent.
Where would I wear it? Well, let me tell you where I would NOT wear it: clubs, office, restaurants, anywhere I want to be remarked.
It's the perfume of muted senses, just the embodiment of true, real love, who doesn;t need to shout, but to...whisper.

Two words.....Dangerous & Sultry. I my sample from a very generous Fragrantica friend. At first spray I immediately get a wave of Sweet Vanilla and Light Lemon. After a while it settles down and becomes this romantic soft and powdery Jasmine with the Vanilla lingering in the background. I also smell a little bourbon in this fragrance and the subtle smokiness is just enough to evoke mystery. It's a grown up gourmand! It's sweet, heady, sophisticated and definitely alluring. I picture a "thirty something" Lauren Becall in a long slender all black dress suit with a matching wide brimmed hat, heels, gloves, lips dewy red, tightly curled hair and following her lover in a dark damp smoky alley. You see she is a spy and has fallen in love with her foe. She leans against the brick wall biting her lip wondering if she dare continue to follow her lover. Although she is in love with him, she must complete her assignment. She continues to follow. Ever so often her perfume wafts in the damp air and her lover looks around but she outwits him. She's dangerous, she's beautiful, she's sultry. Just like Boucheron Trouble.

Warm, lemony vanilla and jasmine in perfect harmony! I bought this one in the summer and now that winter days have come, I have the chance to explore its beauty in colder weather. It's classy, exotic and very long-lasting on my skin. It is creamy, sweet and fresh at the same time and it comes in an adorable deep red bottle.

I finally got my hands on a little bottle of Trouble! I was so excited to finally see this in the stores here! Based on the wonderful reviews I purchased it without smelling. This smells exactly like two perfumes I already have and love, Armani Code and Oscar Fresh Vanilla. One minute it smells like Code and the next like Fresh Vanilla and sometimes a combo of both. That's okay though! I'm very fond of those two and the mix is excellent! I had to double check the notes and they are very similar to Code..

lemon verbena, magnolia, digitalis, jasmine sambac, precious woods, vanilla, amber, blue cedar and tobacco smoke

Although I am a visual artist, living a life which has very much been focused on the sense of vision, with all its quirks and vagaries of opinion, I think it may well be the sense of smell that brings out the most personal of our quirks, preferences and even foibles.

I have read amazing paeans of praise for fragrances that made me shiver with disgust, and read scathing reviews for fragrances that are truly my favorites. I have no problem with opinions, the senses and the artistry created for them evokes them, I therefore hope that others here are as open-minded as I am -
because I bought Trouble based on your opinions, and, alas, I cannot concur.

The words "dark" and "sensual" seem to often be bandied about with reference to Trouble - alas! I honestly think its only the name "Trouble" that evokes those adjectives.

If I were the perfume house who marketed this (to me, again!) evanescently mundane candied citronella candle scent, I would look for a name like "Trouble" to give depth to my creation. Because Trouble has no depth, in my nose, and the greatest Trouble it creates is the dissapearing act it puts on after about 2 hours of wear.

Don't get me wrong - I don't "hate" Trouble. Its pleasant enough in a lemon candle/lemon lotion sort of way, and the bottle is beautiful. However, neither the name nor the bottle seem related to the innocuous citrus-y potion it contains. A little more dark and daring trouble would have been welcome.
And again, my apologies to all the Trouble lovers, these are my senses, this is my opinion *only*.

To my nose this fragrance is a mixture of Casmir Eau de Parfum Chopard and Gaultier Eau de Parfum Classique. Both I used to wear in my student days as I was a huge fan of vanilla based scents. Trouble is a gourmand fragrance in a more sophisticated way and completes my present perfume wardrobe perfectly. Beautiful Trouble!

This one is a delicious little treat, something a woman who wants to put upon airs would wear. The initial spray has some quality about it that is overtly sexual, in kind of a not so good way. But after a couple of minutes the drydown is all lemon and powdered sugar. Yumm. This scent is heavy but also light at the same time. That sounds weird but I don't know how else to describe it. Wouldn't wear this unique fragrance everyday as it might get to be too much, but I'm going to be using my little sample a lot this winter.

A friend bought this for me along with one refill. I just don't get it? The name is about the only thing I can relate to. I feel so bad because she wasted her money and the only time I will wear it is if we are going out and I walk through one very light spray worth.

This smells like an old lady... nothing energizing or feminine about it.

I don't know...maybe my nose is out of whack with the rest of the world, but I don't get this one at all...
The start is a super strong screeching lemon blast which almost makes my teeth squeak, similar to chewing on a lemon peel. I don't find it refreshing or feminine in any way, just too too much! This only lasts a about a minute, followed by a mushy slightly floral middle which quickly morphs into a gel vitamin smeared on my wrist. After about an hour, I get lemony vanilla, similar to lemon cream pie. That's it. Sexy? Mysterious? Uh, no..
The notes don't seem to blend together at all (is vitamin gel a note?) but clash and struggle from top to bottom.
I usually love cedar (Capri) and amber (Fluers de Rocaille, Carolina, White Diamonds) but this scent doesn't have the lovely warm dark nuance of amber or the fresh sweet smell of cedar at all.
It seems to lack focus, wandering around in a muddle of scents and never hitting the mark.
I don't find it comforting as others do, but if they toned down the citrus top, perked up the jasmine middle, got rid of the vitamin smell and added a little incense at the bottom, this might be a truly standout scent.
As it is now, not a keeper for me.

Oooo, Trouble! A very fitting name for a dark & daring, womanly perfume.

Trouble is what I'll be wearing on Hallow'een this year. She fits the bill perfectly: mysterious, deep, smokey, voluptuous & she'll last all night long without corruption. Trouble smells dangerous....in a good way!

Once the citrus opener is tamed, the perfume is all about the jasmine - dark caramel & incense-smoked jasmine ....there is nothing delicate & light about this midnight beauty! The cedar adds a seductive smokey woodsy feel, the amber is rich, warm & inviting. The lemon doesn't lighten the scent (it isn't sour or tart) but it does brighten her dark side, giving her ruby-red richness a glorious, golden glow.

They say the scent of Dyer's Broom can tame both man & beast - Trouble is certainly bewitching & has the strength of a lion. Sillage is good & on my skin the dry-down is a smooth, buttery caramel with the merest hint of citrus, but this is many, many hours later.

I like Trouble. She is a wicked, independent beauty confidently walking in the shadows to a masquerade ball, her black cape with red silk lining flowing behind her.

I have ordered this online untested based on all the fantastic reveiws! I love lemon and all citruses and I love vanila, so I thouht this could be great. I have sprayed it on a scarf for the first test, because I was already wearing a different fragrance and couldn't wait to try it and I was instantly in shock. It was pure incense and nothing else! Nothing at all, but an orienal shop full of burning incense sticks! I could not believe that I am the only person to experience this...could it be that the bottle is off? In any case I have decided to try again on my skin - this time I could smell the citrus and the very strong incense smell only lasted a few seconds. It quite quickly faded and although I can clearly identify it still after 6 or more hours, it's mild and not disturbing and unpleasant any more. After half an hour or so the fragrance started to be very pleasant and getting better and better all the time! I could finaly agree with all the positive reviews, after several hours the scent on my skin is lovely, sweet, warm, unique and full of vanila.

Update: either I got used to it somehow, or it was just that the first few sprays of the fragrance were somehow harsher, but I don't find it that strong any more. Very, very, very pleasant!

+ I just got the body oil also and that is slightly different, pretty subtle and really exquisite, but sadly it fades away quite quickly. Adorable fragrance all in all.

On my skin, this is honey, muted, dark, rather sexy...I can trace vanilla and amber too, delicious if not mind-blowing.

I'm not surprised it's been discontinued however, as I've heard from more than one person that there's a flaw in the design of the bottle which isn't good for the chemistry of the perfume within...apparently, in the bottle, the fragrance doesn't 'keep'. Please take this only as heresay as I don't own a bottle and can't swear to the truth or otherwise of this rumour. If the bottle's the problem, I hope Trouble will be back on the market soon, in a container just as classy but kinder to its contents!

Another classy, feminine, long lasting from the house of Boucheron.
I would categorize it as oriental spicy. I don't feel the jasmine; also the lemony top notes fade very quickly. What remain are the strong vanilla & amber. I would say if I'm to layer JPG Classique and Organza, the outcome will be Trouble.

Also want to add that there is a tiny tiny tiny difference between the spray and the solid... They smell the same except that the spray is slightly slighty spicier/pepperier. The solid seems to be missing that spicy edge, just the sweetness.

I just got this in the solid perfume and a sample spray of the liquid, and it's quickly becoming my new favorite!!!!!! Wow! I'm not sure how to describe the scent, but what other reviewers have been saying are spot on! There's a lemony-ness, there's a warm slight caramel sweetness, and "hug me" type of quality about it. It also comes in a gorgeous gold compact! Wow, can't wait to use this up! :D So happy for my new find. :) Usually when fragrances get rave reviews I find that they don't live up to my expectations, in this case they exceed my expectations!

My fiance loves this on me. Very strong and lasts all day (the perfume that is). Don't make the mistake of putting too much on or you won't be able smell anything else. Very sexy, sweet and dark. The vanilla is very rich and distinct. A little smoky but this kept fresh by the lemon/jasmine element. Divine.

According to what I've read about this perfume,I expected not to like this perfume.but I was wrong.it's not that heavy nor annoying.maybe it's too much for everyday use,but it smells great anyway.
do you like a powdery scent of lemon?that's it.the lemon is very strong, but it's not a kind of fresh, summer lime.it's rich and powdery.in fact it reminds me a bit Crystal Noir.both have the same impression for me.maybe the difference is that trouble is more into spicy notes, while Crystal Noir is more into coconut and sweet notes.
that bottle is really nice, with the sensual dark red color,in a quite simple cube bottle with precious opening.
it's a better version of dior addict.oriental floral lovers will admire it and I like it.though I love the bottle Ican't decide wether I like this one or crystal noir more.

After strong lemon opening there is some Jasmin but luckily not much as I'm not very fond of strong Jasmin scents. Then I get a lot of cedar, which I love, with a delicate amber edge. Long lasting and sharp but not strong. A very nice oriental fragrance for evening wear or even for day wear if not overdosed. I don't get what might be troublesome about this fragrance, too sexy? That actually would be good :)

Trouble reminded me of Kingdom by Alexander McQueen, only sweeter. I definitely smell ginger root in it, though it`s not in the notes.Vanilla and citrus almost make it gourmand, but that`s just it - almost. There is something bitter-fresh about it,like a very tight string of a bow - a deeply dangerous, dark side to it.However...it is just light enough to wear it everyday.May be certain men can pull it off, too!

I bought this on sale and was told it's now discontinued...? Anyhow, it's got a little bit of a bold sexy quality to it. I smell somewhat of a similarity to Addict by Dior, but they are still much different. This goes soft while Addict will hold on well into the morning. While it's not as powerful as Addict, it has a mysterious scent and is refined while being sensual.

You are very right Annie-D I have worn this a lot more since I left that review & it is softer then addict. It is also easier to get away with.I think you said it perfectly when you said Addict has more of a raw sexual side.Addict also doesn't have the lemony cream topping like Trouble (which is by the way a new favorite of mine) ;)

This is a light soft oriental floral, not loud or obtrusive. It has a powdery like opening that stays for the entire life of the perfume. The lemon comes in nicely with the vanilla giving it the right amount of sour to go with the sweet. I could see this in many situations, out to a dinner or a close encounter when someone will wonder what it is. Although in some ways it does represent Addict I think it is much softer with the powdery tones. Addict has a more raw sexual side to it, where clearly someone could get addicted to the untamed underlying essence of it. Trouble is simply that it seduces you quietly and softly whispering sweet nothings in your ear under you are under its sweet spell. I am sensing the vanilla more now but like I said the powdery notes, jasmine and amber balances it so nicely so that it's not overpowering. Nicely done a winner in my book!

The name, the bottle and the commercial speak about a very interesting, mysterious, sexual, seductive and intriguing scent. I was very keen to try it, imaging everything of the above. In fact, there are no such things. Just an average oriental perfume with sweet vanilla scent. Not bad at all but I don’t find anything unique or something special in it.
Suitable for winter season or for summer nights.

I like this alot, although it doesn't really scream "unique" to me. Maybe because I tend to gravitate towards the same kind of scent; heavier orientals with plenty of vanilla. I think my tastes are changing, I would like to have seen a smokey-wood note in this....or maybe just a bit less vanilla? Still a good scent, and the hubby likes it!

Update

It does dry down different that Addict & there is more Lemon in it so I am wrong to say that it is exactly like Addict. It is still VERY similar (at least one me) but Trouble is also lacking that "Incense"iness that Addict has

I have smelled Trouble only in the body lotion and solid perfume versions (and I purchased the solid), and I think the effect is a bit different in those media. Nonetheless, it's still an amazing fragrance! The fruity top notes are held down a bit in the solid form, and are noticeable only for the first moment or two. After that, the jasmine and vanilla/amber combo steal the show, which is okay by me! It's slightly sweet, slightly smoky, with a touch of something that reminds me of Nag Champa incense. Very beautiful oriental that got two thumbs up from my husband.

For fans of solid scents, this one is worth seeking out in solid form. It comes in a heavy brass compact with a mirror top, and is wrapped in a black velvet sleeve. It's a gorgeous casing for a beautiful scent, and the scent itself has a sensuous, creamy texture that is an absolute pleasure to apply!

Starts as a fresh and clean scent with sweet non-plastic jasmine and creamy vanilla. Later, though, it powdered down way too much. That delicious gourmand vanilla/citrus, just edible and lovely, dried down past a gorgeous Vanilla Incense into an unfortunate pasty powdered vanilla ick that was aging and awful. Made me feel like I was 90 and smelled like it.

Don't see trouble here in the slightest, very wearable, and can be perfect on any occasion.
It is unmistakably oriental scent and call me crazy if you want, but it is a twin of Kenzo 'Amour'..but with a more noticeable presence. The scent is milky, but sharper together. I smell rice, tea and some oriental flower, perhaps lemon gives sharpness and freshness throughout.
If I had to compare, 'Trouble' does more for me than Kenzo 'Amour'

Mmmm, I love Trouble! The citrus/jasmine/vanilla combo is delicious and sexy at the same time. The topnotes are bright and fresh, and the fragrance gets smokier and more seductive as it dries down. It's sweet, but the cedar prevents the vanilla from smelling too food-like. I definitely detect incense, too. Still, with all of that going on, Trouble is soft and sits close to the skin. Reminds me somewhat of Dior's Addict, which I also like. Gorgeous burgundy bottle.

The bottle is sensual. You will feel like a high class diva while wearing this scent. Trouble is for the lady who is sexually aggressive and who might take a fancy to getting into trouble.

I was lucky enough to buy this when it had the gorgeous snake cap.

My mom owns this lovely bottle of Trouble, and it smells wonderful on her. It's warm and lemony, but a soft, sugary, sweet lemon, not unbearably lemony or citrusy. Whenever she wears it I think "Here comes trouble...". :) It's truly playful.

Deliciously sexy, my husband frequently requests that I wear Trouble. The bottle is gorgeous and the fragrance is heady, seductive, and mischievous.
