This is my second favourite of the six I have tried. The first being Avenue Montaigne.
VERY floriental. This one also smells familiar to me. It's not something very different but beautiful all the same.
I would say the Oud is the main note, and this is one of those blends where the tuberose mingles very well with the other notes giving an well rounded scent.
This is a floriental wearing a black dress and pearls. This is a classy lady!
The one downside is this could get a bit headachy if over applied, it's quite heady and in your face I think.
I agree with moraine in that it does remind one of JC Juicy Couture or even Viva la Juicy... I got my sample from indiescents where they list the notes slightly different as follows:
Saffron, black current, pink peppercorn, oudh, rose, tuberose, amyris, cipriol and gurjum.. (making me have to look up a few things!)
Cipriol: Cypriol nagarmotha essential oil is utilized in perfumes or bases of the woody, oriental type for a foresty note. (assuming it is the same as Cipriol here)
so perhaps moraine is getting this note as a fixative for the balsam note of gurjum in the concoction?
For me though, its all about the plum and the tuberose. I think I do like this. But I tire of tuberose easily. I am also getting a nice rose which I usually steer clear of by about a million miles in my perfumes as it gives me a headache... but not so this rose.
All in all I'll put this on my list of "I like it" and wear it til my nice sized sample is gone. If I miss it, I'll probably only get another sample again somewhere down the road. I love too many other perfumes to justify the big bottle at this time.
I wouldn't call this wildly interesting, but it is a good choice if you are looking for a gentle, wearable, "anytime" floriental. For the first few minutes it is sweet fruity caramel a la JC Juicy Couture, but very soon the oud, ylang-ylang, and a subtle curranty spice come in, making it quite sophisticated and grown up. Great longevity, and lovely sandalwood - or am I smelling some fabulous wood I've never encountered before? Maybe it's more interesting than I realize...
I don't plan to buy a bottle, but I'll certainly enjoy wearing it while my sample lasts.
Agaressence feels like a toned-down, impoverished sister of Aoud Rose Petals by Montale. Since I was looking for an alternative to the expensive Montale, I decided to buy a full bottle of Agaressence.
Not a bad fragrance, this Agaressence, but nothing out of the ordinary... and very, very sweet, girlish top-notes.
I recently read that OUD or AGAR can now finally be reproduced by some new aromachemical element, which took quite a while to develop, but which seems to be ubiquitious at the moment. Hence the explosion of Oud-scents on the market. None of these scents contains any genuine "essence" of the rare and very precious (i.e. ultra-expensive) oud bark. Brecourt's Agaressence certainly uses the inexpensive new aromachemical. Staying-power is average.
A fairly pleasant scent.
