This is a new Britney Spears fragrance, the second fragrance launched by Britney in 2007. The new fragrance, Believe, is promoted with the slogan, "The greatest freedom is to believe in yourself". Unlike her previous fragrances, which came in cute, girlish toy-like bottles, Believe comes in a triangular bottle of straight and sharp lines. The green color of the fragrance alludes to its fresh character. Believe is aimed at young and romantic girls.
The fragrance opens with fruity, mouthwatering notes of guava and tangerine. The maidenly heart is delicate and pure, featuring honeysuckle and linden blossom. The base is highly feminine and sensual, with its beautiful accord of patchouli, amber and sweet praline notes, first revealed to the world in the blue fluids of Thierry Mugler's Angel. The green color of Britney Spears' new fragrance promises a sweet and refreshing dessert.

mhubbard was right imo
Waste of the money, also on me no stayingpower and no sillage. Just some guava & tangerine juice and after 10 minutes... nothing... maybe they forgot to put the middle and basenotes in my bottle eh?
Such a disappointment :(
This is so juicy and fresh!
The guava and tangerine really take over, using the patchouli to ground it and make it last, since most fruity scents die quickly. This lasts SO long! I've always wanted this scent since it first came out, and I finally got my hands on a 1.7oz from TJ Maxx for $15.
I'm loving the fruitchouli vibe in this, since it's not TOO heavy on the patchouli. The praline note gives it a nuttiness , and once the fragrance dries down, it's a fresh, nutty, tropical escape! There's pretty much nothing floral about this fragrance, which is great, seeing as how I have WAY too many florals. It's nice to get a grown-up fruity fragrance that lasts, without being overwhelmingly centered on the patchouli/praline gourmandness.
This is DEFINITELY Britney's best. Such a departure from the norm!
I wore this one couple of times and today my slightly snobbish older sister curiously asked me what I'm wearing. She remained silent when I replied but knowing her she couldn't Believe it was a celebrity perfume (she never had or will have any experience with them). It's classy, stylish, fresh, "working in the backround but still standing strong" kind of scent.
Believe and Curious are my 2 fav by BS!
Believe
This is without a doubt one of the BEST offerings that You can find amongst Britney Spears' fragrance range. I dismissed it in its early stages until I had smelt it on a co-worker, so one day I was out shopping and decided to buy myself a bottle. After one spray on my wrist and I was in love. I'm a big fan of Guava so this fragrance put the biggest smile on my face. Now this isn't overly fruity like what You'd expect. Because there is a bucket load of Patchouli in this perfume which seems to break through some of the soda like nuances that can be associated at times with Guava. After a few hours you pick up some Tangerine mixed with Prailine...another great duo for this scent! That's what I like so much about this fragrance- everything just works well. Some days it seems feminine, some days it smells quite unisex for me which I like. I've had both men and women compliment me when I wear this fragrance. This perfectly captures the essence of a fruit bowl where the fruit is nestled on shrubs and leaves, it's a really great fragrance.
I liked Believe a lot more than I thought I would! It's not a little girl, teen scent at all. I would liken it more to the same category as Euphoria or Amor Amor.
The bottle is pretty, I love the green glass prism. The scent itself is intense, very juicy guava and tangerine mixed with a huge dose of patchouli. You must love patchouli to love this (which I do). Really good sillage and lasting power on me too. This layers incredibly well with Bath & Body Works Black Amethyst products.
Midnight Fantasy remains my very best from Britney. Believe is also a good scent. Fresh and long lasting. Just saw some reviews that it didnt last long, oh well, u knw wat they say about different strokes. I use this fresh sweetness so much that its now struggling...will need a replacement.
To me it smells like every other citrusy perfume out there...sprayed this...took an hour nap and it was gone :/ too bad because I don't have anything like this in my collection...sometimes I don't mind smelling like everyone else...I do enjoy the guava note tho..fresh and citrusy.
This is my favorite Britney Spears perfume. It makes you feel beautiful. I like that it is a stronger scent than most of her fragrances. It is perfect for any type of occasion.
I wish she would do a flanker of this she keeps churning out the fantasy's but not this one? I think it is cheaper and easier for companies to make gourmand scents than to try to create and interesting one like the original Believe it would be interesting to see what they come up with.
I still love this and it is easier to get than some of her fantasy range but it is so recognizable as soon as you smell it on someone you know what it is because it is very original nothing really smells like it besides white diamonds in a much heavier way.
I smell this a lot on people so now I am getting bored with it because I just feel like part of the herd but I will put it away and try again because it is a nice perfume but for those of you wanting something just for you it is bathed in by a lot of people out there so you will blend in with the rest of them I am afraid.
i like this perfume alot by britney spears:) she makes real good perfumes!!! this perfume brings me back memories when i first use it on my lil boy b-day!!! i got alot of complaments:)
I bought this after one spritz on my wrist. I love this!! I can't describe this as sweet on me, but rather fresh, and after a while spicy, woodsy.
My nose won't let me distinguish any particular notes in this, after looking them up I could not isolate any of them!!! PS I am new to learning about notes. I guess it is almost linear on me then. But that is ok I really like it. The bottle is gorgeous!!
I bought two bottles since they were on special for $17 dollars plus tax. I bought midnight fantasy as a total blind buy as well.
Im in my 40's and I don't discriminate against a perfume based on whether its girly or not.... if I like the smell on the bottle and then on my skin, I will buy it.
I'm blown AWAY by this fragrance! Even after reading all the glowing reviews I am still shocked by how much I love this scent.
The top notes, citrussy and fresh, but still sweet and somewhat 'thick', instead of harsh (the guava?), are amazing. I honestly find this one of the least synthetic smelling fruit openings I've ever smelled. The drydown, with the woolly, fuzzy patchouli-and-praline base that is indeed reminiscent of Angel not necessarily in scent but in 'feel'...I love it! This perfume is both energizing AND comforting, something I've never really experienced in a perfume before.
The only complaint I have is that this goes wrong on my skin; it's so lovely when spritzed onto my clothes, but it just kind of falls apart on my skin. I blame this on my skin chemistry though, and I don't mind spraying this on my clothes: improves the longevity and keeps the top notes around for much longer!
Seriously, this smells WAY more expensive than it is (got my 30 ml bottle for less than 12 euros!), and I don't think anyone would suspect that this is a celebrity scent. I think this is my favorite BS perfume now :D
Brava, Britney!
4.8/5
I do not like. The guava when you first spray it is promising, but the fume quickly dries down to plain patchouli, and not the good stuff. It smells much too masculine on me. At least it only lasts about 2-3 hours on my skin.
I got this at Ross after much deliberation. I read many reviewers say it reminded them of Angel and thought this would be a huge mess. Good news, it wasn't! I can see where some would liken it to Angel, but I think it's just the patchouli, which I don't find that strong. It is much more grown up then Britney's other offerings. Call me crazy, but I almost get more of a Lolita Lempicka original perfume vibe off of this. To me, it's almost more anise and incense with a patchouli background. There is a hint of something citrus at the start, then goes woody and earthy. I find myself mindlessly grabbing for it so it must be good!
This is a wonderful perfume.
It is sweet yet sassy, young but sofisticated, sensual but classy.
Sadly, it does not work with my skin chemistry. I have a 1 oz bottle for swap. Please feel free to message me if you are interested :)
I wanted to love it so much but this is not for me. Somehow I can't stand the patchouli in this perfume. Makes it to heavy for me and not fresh at all. It is nice scent but not for everyone. I was expect something fresh and summery and for my taste this is not it. I wouldn't be bothered to smell it on someone else though. I would suggest tested this perfume before buying it. Based od those positive reviews I was kind of sure I would love it too, but I'm glad I tested it first and saved my money.
I love it; it's a happy scent. It's like a Strawberry Shortcake doll decided to become a hippie.
Not bad but im happy that somebody bought me a small bottle by mistake...not bad BUT it has very poor construction is just another sweet/fresh/gourmand aroma that tries to follow Angel arround but gets lost in the middle of the road nothing groundbreaking.
70/100
RIYL: Angel eau de toilette version, Pink Sugar ,Queen by Queen Latifah,
When I smelled this for the first time just the other day, I was expecting something green and fresh because of the color of the perfume, but that is not what I got. I kept thinking that it smelled really familiar to another fragrance, and then I realized what it was: TM Angel. I think what makes it familiar to Angel is that combination of the "dirty" patchouli and sweet, chocolaty praline.
The opening of Believe is really fruity and refreshing from the guava and tangerine. Then the patchouli and praline make their appearance, mix with the guava, and dominate till the end. IMO, this is one of those fragrances that's versatile. You can wear it for any season, day or night.
I loved this scent at first sniff, and I still do. But on me? Oh, no. Once I spray it on me and it soaks in, the bright and crisp fruity and marshmallow-y smells go away, leaving only... patchouli. And giving me a headache. Too bad :( Great scent though. I'm going to try and sell mine on eBay.
I can't believe this is Britney Spears branded. I can't believe it has been developed by Elizabeth Arden, a house that hasn't innovated in DECADES scent-wise. I can't believe they are targeting this at, and I quote; "young and romantic girls". Are they daring us to BELIEVE? Is this some strange reversed "I can't believe this is not butter" situation where the "cheap" product surpasses some of the "real" stuff in quality of its ingredients? Believe it: we have a sophisticated, effortlessly chic and couture fragrance here. As a celebrity scent, I'd say it is as daring as SJP's Covet...and there are a few more parallels between those two scents that can be made. They are both fresh, green and juicy, yet are sitting on warm bases that make them winners whatever the season. They have depth and character. In Believe's case, the delicate sugar of the pralines is dirtied by patchouli. Believe's guava and tangerine are surprising, very alive and ripe, without being syrupy.
Now, if you're a bit of a snob like me, you might not want to tell people you are wearing Britney Spears. It's OK, you already have practice lying about those Jessica Simpson amazing scents, haha! So yeah, keep an open mind and spend those 20 dollars well on a bottle of it. Did I mention that the bottle itself is well worth it?
JustSassy - true, I had a similar reaction to this scent. I loved it enough to buy it only to return it as it turned completelyon me, smelling too warm and kind a dirty. I still like the scent on clothes though.
This scent is very different than the ones I normally wear. It starts with a very strong patchouli smell, then it dries to a very pretty and pleasant flowery smell.
My boyfriend is very pleased with how this one smells one me! Haha!
Two thumbs up!
This sassy scent lasts a long time on me....... wooo hooo!!
this was a blind buy that I got dirt cheap. Its not worth the full price tag to me but its certainly nice enough. This is not "teen" scent -I see rather sophisticated fruity floral-I get the guava and tangerine which almost immediately transforms into floral honeysuckle scent but i can still smell the fruit notes as well. All thoughout there is very distictive patchouili note which is good because without it I think it would be just another fruity floral. It actually lasts a long time one me(probably due to patchouili) and I really like the bottle although it doesn't fit the perfume, imo. Bottle is rather futuristic and this scent is rather "preppy" and has sort of a "classic" vibe. i don't get the "gormand" notes at all, even on the drydown. Which is really too bad
P.S. I can't understand why would anyone think its smells like Angel. I own Angel and other than patchouili they have NO notes in common. In terms of smell, these are polar opposites
Well, first of all I have to say that I'm not a fan of fruity fragrances or green, and not like the smell of guava!
And I love Believe! This scent is juicy! No smell green like the beautiful green bottle can suggest , and thankfully does not smell guavas me. I smell fruit, yes, very delicious mixed with patchouli, but I can not say that the fruit is.
The scent is fresh and elegant, slightly sweet, and has a good durability. It is so easy to use: vai well for day and night, heat and cold! And the price is very good! No smell celebrity perfume and not is one common fruity-floral, deserves attention.
This was a blind buy for me, based on the reviews here. Am I happy I bought without a single sniff?
I was not so sure on first spray. Mostly because it disappeared on me completely. In about half an hour. Very disappointing.
But the second time I wore it, I got whiffs of the fragrance right through the day.
The guava was first - a lovely, crisp, freshly cut one. Light and airy, it wasn't sugared or overly sweet. You can also immediately tell the flowers and patchouli in the undertones of the fragrance.
Wear it for a while, the patchouli gets a little stronger, and the flowers show their lovely little heads a bit. I didnt get any praline at all.
I didn't think that guava and patchouli would take to each other so well, but they do. It's delightful. Not trying too hard to be more, and therefore messy in the process.
Pretty long-lasting (I might have lost my sense of smell that first day, who knows!), though sillage isn't impressive.
I can also see women of many ages wear it. 20's, 30's, 40's, it isn't a 'young' fragrance, strictly speaking.
The majority of reviews seemingly also describe Vera Wang's Lovestruck perfume. Can anyone compare?
I really wanted to like this one but the patchouli was too intense for me and it was very lemony. Not the fruity zesty type but like a synthetic lemon like in cleaning detergants which was a same.
My girlfriend's perfume! I love it!
bought body lotion _ so impressed _ definitely will try perfume
i really like it.its sweet but not sticky or sugary.
it is long lasting and i think its little bit unisex smell
I remember when I first smelt this fragrance, it did not appeal to me at all, I had just started to purchase some of the Britney fragrances and it just didn't compare to the Fantasy collection.
However, after a year or so I came back to it and tried it on my skin and it has now become one of my favourite scents. I do think it's a very woodsy fragrance with a slight fresh sweetness to it. If you're looking for a candy sweet perfume this is not for you but if you want something a bit different I highly recommend this.
I do feel that this is quite a unisex fragrance which would work quite well on men as well as women.
It's also very long lasting, just like the Fantasy range, I don't think it has quite the same impact in terms of silage but it's good nonetheless.
never been a big fan of lemon smells . it might be another person's cup of tea . but about me i wasn't too pleased buying it . i have the last quarter of it till now i just use it when i am running out of my fave perfume . but after all i didn't smell like cheap perfume it worth the money :)
this one did not agree with me and had everyone around me looking for a leak in the dettol bottle.each time i would wear this someone would comment : anyone smelling dettol?finally i started smelling dettol on myself and i hated that perfume.i envy those on whose skin this is gorgeous.i love patchouli and i wanted to love this.
i got this for my Christmas present and I LOVE IT. this perfume works perfectly with my body chemistry. ok a few minutes after i sprayed it on my skin, it smells a little bit too strong and too citrus-y but after i let it calm for about 5 minutes, it smells really good. it's so elegant and clean and sweet and fresh. PLUS the scent lasts very long and it smells so fresh the whole day. i think if i don't shower for like 2 days i would still be able to smell the scent on my skin :b this is definitely going to be my signature scent and it is definitely one of my all-time-favourite
fragrance is very citrus, fresh and sweet at the same time but not a sickly sweet but don't over estimate the patchouli in this fragrance it just gives it depth to last you main notes to can only smell is the honeysuckle, guava, fresh lime and that sweetness given from the praline which is a filling in a chocolate sweet :) REALLY RECOMMEND IT
I got this in the mail today, it was a blind buy, I love it, it smells really fresh and inviting, i would buy it again!
I used to be a bit iffy with my opinion on this fragrance, because it was always overshadowed by Britney's more popular perfumes. E.G. Fantasy, Midnight Fantasy, Curious etc. However, I am collecting all of her scents and this was one of the few that I did not own. I was out shopping today and saw Believe on sale for $15, so I thought I'd just get a tester and maybe buy it another time if I liked it. After walking around with this tester for about 10 minutes, I just couldn't resist it any longer. The smell brought back so many summery memories. And I love when fragrances can effect you and allow you to reminisce. So I went back and purchased it! Since I got home, I can not stop sniffing it on me or spraying it onto one of my tester cards. It starts off very cool, and breezy, like a warm Spring night. The guava is most powerful but you get some vanilla and a little hint of tangerine. The scent overall is quite a spicy, comforting and freeing aroma. It is very relaxing and natural. One thing I thought, is that this perfume could easily pass as a unisex fragrance. It is floral and fruity, but also spicy and warm. Men could easily pull this off. Anyway, I would go as far as to say that this is one of my overall favourite Britney Spears fragrances. It really sits apart from the rest of the collection, it is sophisticated and mature. Must have!
i found this scent to be the one i dislike from britney's collection, it seems in everyones "collections" i am always looking for my fav or dislike i guess, its too patchouli smelling for my taste
Blind bought this for my best friend for Christmas. Luckily, it's a lovely, sweet, fresh scent, and she loves it :)
EDIT: My friend came over tonight wearing it, and trust me, the sillage is AWESOME! And my friend smells fantastic wearing it. I hope she sticks with it.
Lovely perfume ! This is my second favorite fragrance from Britney. The first is Fantasy :) Believe It is completely different from the Fantasy line. It is light, very tropical, fresh & at the same time it is also sweet. After the first spraying, I feel only guavas and patchouli... But later, was transformed into a most pleasant perfume smell ! My boyfriend loves it. And I must say, this perfume has one of the sweetest bottles.
I MAYBE A MAN BUT DAMN IT, I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS FRAGRANCE AND I DO NOT CARE IF IT'S FROM BRITNEY SPEARS! I AM IN LOVE WITH THE RICH HONEYSUCKLE SMELL.
I love Britney's fragrances. They have depth, character and a presence. Believe is a more mature sister of her other perfumes and is heavy on the pachouli, so if you don't like that note you won't care for Believe. It is strong and long lasting, which I like. A neighbor who I've never spoken to told me I smelled good. I was a but surprised but quickly realized I was wearing Britney and with the right body chemistry it's guaranteed to garner compliments. I enjoy Believe, it's sillage and it's longevity. Good perfume and the price is right.
I love this perfume, there's a feminine yet masculine feel to the scent. Which is what attracts me to it so much. It's sweet yet bitter, which would be the citrus and floral notes. A perfect balance that doesn't leave you feeling sick! I love this perfume, it lasts long maybe about 6+ hours, although the silliage isn't the best. The bottle is cute and the scent brings in the compliments! Gorgeous perfume!
Nice tart citrus smell with a little honeysuckle and some sweetness. Don't get any guava. I think this is Britney's best perfume. The bottle is a little oddly shaped. The bottom is too small and looks like it might tip over.
compared to many of Britney's perfumes, this one is less sweet and probably aim to attract the older demographic. It's a very strong perfume that's pleasant for the right kind of person who isn't sensitive to strong perfumes or odor. It's sweet and fruity initially with a strong burst of sharpness and spiciness. If you love jalapenos with a kick of fizzy beer, you're in for a good time. If you're prone to migraines, this might not be a good choice. I am not sure why people tend to think strong smelling perfumes are for strong and confident woman when I think it's actually the opposite. Beautiful confident people already are oozing with natural inner/outer beauty and sex appeal and they tend not to want to be covered in heavy makeup or distracting atrocious perfumes. They want to be seen and smell as they are just finely enhanced with barely there makeup and mild enhancing perfumes rather than disinfecting perfumes. Smart confident women also know that when you are wearing a super strong perfume, people think you lack natural beauty and magnetism therefore compensating with fake hair, 10 pounds of makeup, and blasts of perfumes to makeup for the insecurities. Smart women also know that people will wonder what in the world someone is trying to cover up with that puffy clouds of perfume raining on your head?
This is a very strong & citrusy perfume! It is strong & will stay on you for the whole day, without having to spray large amounts on your wrist or neck!
Before testing this perfume be sure it is full & not old tester bottle. Britney makes awesome perfumes but they have tendency to turn bad too fast. In a right bottle it smells really good!
Believe is the most mature of Britney perfumes, has a vibe of class and passionate temperament at the same time. It represents me a strong confident woman dancing in extravagant club after long day in the office. There are two clear parts of scent: fruity green top and pachouli base. They are playing on skin and changing each other every minute. I guess I just fall in love with Believe hah! :D
BTW it reaaaaly reminds me Gucci perfumes. I think it's good sign as for celebrity scent...
The notes that are in the fragrance all sound so delicious and fruity, including all the reviews i read. yet when i sprayed it on me all i got is a heavy men's cologne scent! definitely not what i expected. maybe it just doesnt work with my body chemistry but definitely not a pleasant scent...
I don't get any of the notes stated above - neither patchouly, nor amber or praline - just a horrible synthetic blend. Gave me a bad headache...
Yummy!! really an appealing perfume.Excellent the blend patchouli and fruits.Bravo!!
I have to say I really love this fragrance. Not Britney's usual sickly sweet mix, this one is much more subtle and fresh. I received it as a gift and wasn't sure at first but now it is one of my absolute favourites! I only have about one wear left in my bottle, will have to re-purchase!
Would somebody like to swap formy 100mL bottle? I really dislike this fragrence. Sorry Britney
I love Believe, I think it is the most "grown up" perfume from the collection so far, I mean this in a good way though. Its great for the days when I don't want to smell like cupcakes or chocolate. Perfect for summer.
You will like this if you like fruity scents, what I love about it is that it is not boring in anyway. It really is a very unique perfume.
Will make people say "What are you wearing".
I adore the drydown it has Pralines in it which I think blends well with the Patchouli.
Makes a lovely change from the Musk and Vanilla base notes that we usually get from Britney.
Some fruity perfumes I have had the first spray is great and then after about 20 minutes you can't smell anything, and you have re-apply it.
This doesn't happen with Believe.
It is very strong though so one or two sprays will last through out the day.
Trust me on this it is not a perfume that you should bathe yourself in as it will become too over whelming for the person wearing it and everyone else around you.
All in all a fantastic perfume.
I just wish they would make some flankers for it.
10/10 for this one again Britney, you make awesome fragrances, keep them coming. :)
I'll first start by saying that I love most Britney fragrances, so I had my hopes up when I finally found a tester bottle of this at the store. And oh no, I dread the bitter Patchouli and completely forgot that it was in Believe. I want so much to like this, because I loved the other fruity notes, but once that Patchouli hits my nose I feel naseous. It's really too bad, but at least I like all her other ones.
I thought i was crazy cause this perfume reminded me of Thierry Mugler Angel EDT, so now that i'm reading the Fragrantica description i totally agree, the sweet touch in Believe is very similar to Angel, but the fruity notes make the difference. Believe smells fresh, a little sweet (on my skin it's almost like chocolate), with a very distinctive patchouli note which i think is the main reason many people find it too sharp. I've asked for opinions on this perfume from family, friends, coworkers, and almost everybody said they don't like it, but i think that's because they were expecting the usual sweet fruity-floral that has become like a trademark on celebrity scents. Actually i'm not quite sure if i like Believe myself, but there's something so interesting about this fragrance that i think i'll keep it.
I always got a compliment wearing this one.I don't think its really tropical to me. Like this one but Fantasy is still my favorite.
Whenever I wear this it dries to a very creamy amber with only a hint of patchouli nothing tropical or manly. It ends up smelling a little like the Gucci in the rose pink bottle. I love it and always have a bottle and the matching body lotion the lotion smooths it out for me. It lasts all day on me too as I move around I always get little wafts of it. I think this one chooses who it will play nicely with because going by some of the reviews it ain't being nice to everyone. Quite an opposite direction for Brit because her perfumes seem to be very nice and cuddly but not this one!! :)
This is my second review for this, but I had to come back because I've done a total 180 on it.
For a celeb frag at a very afforadle price, I have to say that I LOVE this one.
When you first smell it, it smells a bit alcholy and chemical, but once it's been on your skin for a few minutes it really comes alive. It doesn't take long at all for the delicious praline to come out, but it's enveloped in a fresh burst of tropical, fruity notes. The patchouli grounds it with a subtle earthiness, preventing it from being your typical fruity floral. The strong praline makes this a borderline gourmand fragrance in my opinion, but it's a fresh vibrant gourmand that can be worn on a hot summer's day. It's definitely suited for the Spring/Summer months, but once the fragrance reaches the heart and base notes (which doesn't take long at all) you could even get away with it in cooler weather.
Definitely pick this one up as it's super cheap if you shop around. It might be slightly offputting at first, but let it hit your bare skin and give it a few minutes to settle and you'll be in love.
After sampling "Cosmic Radiance" and liking that fun and well balanced scent, I was really looking forward to sampling more Britney Spears fragrances. So, when I saw a bottle of "Believe" on special offer for 100ML I didn't need much encouragement to test it.
I admit that the guava & tangerine note in combination with the notes I normally love: honeysuckle, patchouli and amber, had me a bit worried. How would this smell and evolve on my skin?
At first spray a sweet but not too sweet or cloying note (guava I guess) is swirling up to my nose, and before I can say "guava!" the tangerine note joins in and gives it a yummy citric vibe that also don't last too long before a cologne note (and I mean a really nice, brisk and fresh cologne note) adds to the mix and gives perfect balance to the guava and tangerine. Hmmm
Wow! It's sweet, but not too sweet. It's fresh and clean without being too 4711-ish...and in the drydown a wonderful patchouli note grounds this scent and gives it an earthy vibe that also makes it a bit sexy. Believe is a very pleasant surprise! The patchouli note is sweet rather than incense like. So if the patchouli note is deterring you from trying this, don't worry. It's very well blended and will not dominate but rather add more prettiness to this scent. All in all I like this scent for its versatile note mix which makes it suitable for all occasions, really. It's yummy with classy vibes and also pretty in a manner most celebrity scents promise but don't deliver. I purchased the 100ML bottle and use it for leisure, office & evening use alike. It's a really fresh scent with on me a slightly sultry drydown. The BF loves it too (not the most important thing but important enough ;)
And the bottle was just love at first sight! Really, it reminded me of a piece of Lalique glassware I once saw in an antique shop, very unique and eye-catching. The price is also super friendly. So, all in all I can't find fault with this scent and hence can only recommend it! At least sample it, you might be surprised! : )
Silage is: "sweet patchouli yet fresh? Hmm let me smell that again?" -- Longevity is a nice 5+ hours. A wonderful scent in a gorgeous bottle for a steal. What more could a Perfumista want? Enjoy! : )
This is the only BS perfume that I am missing. I smelled it a couple of years ago and wasnt a fan but I think I will give it another shot if I come across it again. My first impression was that it was very masculine but after reading the notes maybe I'll have a different opinion. (I didnt like Midnight Fantasy a couple years ago either and now its found its way into my collection ;).
To me, it does not smell topical at all. I actually can detect the praline. Maybe some green apple? It is pretty fresh, maybe almost a little bitter. Not a favorite of mine, but I liked it for awhile. It smells a bit too plastic-y to me, and a little too synthetic. My mom hates it and always makes a point to tell me when I choose to wear it. ;)
I was given the 1 oz. perfume & body souffle for X-Mas. Have to say, this perfume has notes of guava, tangerine, honeysuckle, & patchouli. Love the hints, hints &... hints of patchouli! I personally use this fragrance for work & for the reason, it has a more sophisticated scent than the other Britney Spears Perfumes. This fragrance seems to be appropriate for use during Fall Season because it eludes a "warm vibe" that seems to mesh so well with Fall. This fragrance is a day-time scent. & I love the perfume bottle. Looks beautiful on my dresser. On a scale of one to ten, have to give this fragrance a 6. I like the perfume, but don't intend to repurchase once used up.
P.S. Word up ladies & gentlemen... if u lov patchouli, this is definitely the fragrance for u!
super tropical perfume, from the start to the end. all of three parts of piramide is fantastic fresh and sweet. I like it!
Oh i think i am gonna faint i can not simply take any more britney perfumes they are just too much for me...i freakin love everyone of them they are delicious and now i take another chance on believe and i believe it is the best of the best scents...this is a lemon lime soda perfume! I was looking for this type of scent in Coco M but to me its too faint but this is straight to the point citrus soda sweet and the patchouli puts a nice twist on it to make it almost sweet, tart, sour all at once with the lemon lime notes...amazing amazing amazing...there is no way you can not connect this with the fantasy line..they are definately all related because it too is a gourmand but this is a soft drink soda gourmand if there ever has been one!Oh i am so happy for the rest of the day today over this and circus fantasy...my goodness! lol
This is a lovely fruity classy perfume that csn work on most ages. Lasts all day on me.
Holy frickin' fruits! This smells like ultra juicy, bad pineapple essence. When I say "bad" I mean it doesn't exactly smell like pineapple, but it smells like they were trying to create pineapple. While this one doesn't smell the same as JLo's Live Luxe, it leaves me just as crept out. When has chocolate (or pralines, if you will) ever been a good thing to combine with heavy fruit? Imo it can work if the base is heavily milky and creamy, but this isn't.
This strange combination disturbs me, but I don't hate the scent. It's actually very psychedelic, now that I think about it. Colorful and outstanding, but in a disturbing way. Needless to say, the bottle is a miserable pick for a scent like this!
When you first put it on it smells very sweet and fruity but some patchouli comes through, later it "settles down" and smells of sweet patchouli. Basically it's nice if you like sweet scents and patchouli haha
you can get 100ml bottle on ebay for £12 I love this one it lasts a long time and I smell pears but i have a thing for strong fruity perfumes I always get comments when I wear this one
I remember hating Believe the first time I smelt it, and thought it was a disgrace to Britney's perfumes but now, it's one of my favourites! It has a sweet patchouli smell that makes my adore it, and its very mature but still sweet so younger people can wear it as well as older people. Its extremely versatile, if you consider the fact that young and old women can wear it and it can pass as a male fragrance too. I also noticed the spring and summer votes are high? Uhhhh no, personally I think its more of a winter fragrance. Nicely done, it smells very different compared to other celebrity fragrances and it has a sexy bottle to match the smell.
When I am in the mood for this, i LOVE it!
Strong fruity floral, more fruity to me, that lasts a good few hours.
Always get compliments from ladies at work, who ask what the cologne I am wearing is!! Nobody suspects its a female perfume!
The top notes are uplifting, blended with the warm heart and a comforting patchouli base.
Great in spring/summer and one of the more mature fragrances from Britney.
One of the only perfumes that my picky sister actually likes. She said it smells like a rich woman. Whatever that means! Very original.
Deserves a try ..it is a really good blend ...
This is an odd one, when I first spray it I get very sweet guava, maybe mixed with the pralines? After about 2 minutes it's just guava and patchouli, and later in the day sweet patchouli.
Hmmm... this is a more interesting, more grown-up fragrance than the other offerings from Britney Spears. I haven't been a fan of any of her others but this isn't bad. The guava is definitely the most present ingredient, then the patchouli and I catch a sugary, sweet smell as well, which must be the praline. Overall this is still fruitier and sweeter than what I usually like but it's nice and could be worn by people 25+ as well as those who are younger. For some bizaarre reason, on my skin, Believe smells a little of Womanity, Eau pour Elles. Odd.
I REALLY wanted to "believe" in this scent, but alas, we were not meant to be. Although I am a lover of all things sweet and gourmand, this perfume was a little tooty fruity for me, if you know what I mean. The juicy guava just doesn't quit. I like fruit, but usually when it is accompanied by a soft cupcake or vanilla, or something to cut the "juicyness". Yes, the patchouli is there, but the guava is just sooo in your face. The sweet and juice-like quality of the guava is a little much for me. If it was turned down just a notch and the praline turned up a notch, and the patchouli made a litte richer, I would say this would be a masterpiece. But as it stands, I do not think I will buy a bottle. Too bad since I had such high hopes for this scent. Glad I didn't blind buy it.
There is nothing feminine about this smell. Smells like pine trees and not in a good way.
This fragrance was a huge surprise for me. I read some reviews describing it as green, fresh, but it isn't like that at all.
Belive is very well composed, it is very fluent. The freshness of citrus is mixed perfectly with the warmth of patchouli and amber. Lime blossom is also very noticeble, which is very rare in fragrances. It is elegant, delicate, perfect for any season. It is not tiring or cloying. Just a little bit sweet, not overwhelming. I like it a lot.
I love this.....it was a blind buy and I'm delighted I took a gamble on this fragrance! Forbidden Euphoria smells like Believe IMO,at least on my skin. I will definitely purchase Believe again....
This is probably Britney's freshest perfume. Because of the patchouli, it's almost got a 'cologne' smell to it and is probably one of her most unisex fragrances.
This smells so different out of all of Britney's perfumes. This is not sweet but a woodsy scent, it almost can pass for a guys scent. I really like this one because it's so unique and the bottle is really cool looking. The scent lasts a long time I sprayed this on me and it lasted throughout the day! I've been wanting to get this one for awhile!
I got this as a Christmas present from my mom after smelling it and loving it. (It was expensive at the time of launch and at that point it was not readily available cheaply as much as 20$ as it is nowadays).
This was actually my first perfume ever. I think this is a good perfume for teens (that`s when I got it so I guess I`m biased in this respect) and I really wore it out for threes years straight until the day when my skin chemistry changed because my dad remarked (more than once I should say) that I smelled bad (even though in the past he never complained and in fact always complemented how nice I smelled). My mom always thought that this perfume smelled divine, but I`m glad that the=is perfume got stopped working for me because who knows I might have maybe worn this all my life and never discovered the little treasures which I own today :P
The perfume is sweet and citrusy, but it is not as sweet and cloying as MIDNIGHT FANTASY. The citrus part is hardly detetectable at all which is something that I appreciate to this day even if I no wonder ever wear it. (Since discovering my `perfume`style over the past year, I found out that for some reason I get bored with citrusy scents after my experiences with GUCCI FLORA and YSL BABYDOLL later on.)
Honestly, BELIEVE is an original scent from the celebrity genre and it does stand out. The sillage is amazing and so is lasting power.
Usually I really do love Britney's perfumes , but this one , I just dont like it .
It's not original and the bottle looks cheap .
I dont know why I bought It :/ .
Well, this is a very strange smell..it is sweet, fruity, and a little masculine at the same time. I am not in love with this scent allthough I have it, but my husband loves it for some reason..he said he liked to have something like this for men.. :D
I haven't used this for a long time, but time to time I wear this, mostly at nights. A very strange perfume indeed!
I think I liked it more if it was a bit lighter/more fresh.
Pro: Unique,spicy,"humming",grown up,elegant yet loco.
Con: reminds me of a swedish caugh-medicine i often got as a kid.
But nostalgia is overated ;)
This never crossed my path until now, when I recently was able to try this from a friends perfume wardrobe.
I am embaressed to say I am in love with it...
This is strange, funny, girly, sweet, fresh patchoulie, caramelli but grown up at the same time with a fresh summer feeling. The lime/linden blossom featured in the heart, is simply beautiful !
I never thought of trying it, never thought of liking it, never thought of buying - or loving it but I did and do. A little dry, green base note, the patcholie reminds me of the one in Truth, Very well blended and a little daring for beeing a celeb fragrance.
Wow - so summer fresh ...
A winner !
Another "Blind Buy" - a 100ml unused bottle was sat in the local charity shop for £10 so i bought it. Id not a clue what it smelled like , and the only BS frags i was familiar with were "Curious" and the ever popular "Fantasy" series. I was expecting a sugary sweet smell , so the bright/fresh/Fruit-chouli smell was a great surprise!
I love a bit of the old "Fruit-chouli !!
Id warn anyone who doesn't like Patchouli to give this a good testing if your a Blind-buyer. The Patch is STRONG....Not as strong as Angel EDP ( which i cant wear BTW) , but still pretty tenacious! Speaking of Angel ........
I dont get the comparisons with TMs Angel at all! This is nothing like Angel !!The only similarity is strong Patchouli in both , but Angel is heavy/Gourmand/winter and Believe is a green/crisp/fresh/clear/spring n summer perfume . 2 Completely different styles of perfume
The reviewer "rosembloom" likens "Believe " to DNKY's "Be Delicious" - Yes ! I agree!! Believe has a crisp green apple note to it ( even though its not listed in the notes?) . I also sense a similar vibe to "Eden" by Cacherel . Believe could be Edens younger sister.
Strangely enough , i like to wear Eden in wet weather .The day i bought Believe was a very wet day and it seems PERFECT for wet spring showers in the same way as Eden.
So , to sum up - I really like this fragrance. A VERY nice surprise indeed. I would class it as Fruity-Green . Its got a natural , laid back , outdoorsy/hippie chick vibe going on. Its sweet - as in crisp fresh fruit - not candy/cakes. The patch and amber toughen it up it bit. I wear this for daytime ( its office app IMO) , and for outdoors at the weekend, country walks ect.
Ive had compliments on this fume and a few "what r u wearings?" from peeps who were surprised it was a BS scent! I cant detect any Praline note , but thats Ok with me. It is what it is - A well done Fruity/patchouli combo with a strong sillage and lasting power is above average
I agree with others who have said this is Britney's most mature offering so far. Any age could wear this IMO. Its quite a strong fume , so 100ml should last ages. 2 sprays is enough or it could be OTT
This perfume is one of the better "Celeb Scent" offerings out there. You could also get a lot worse scents that cost twice the RRP of this one. I think BS has got to be the most successful Celeb perfume range?
I cant/wont wear Fantasy as its too sweet and "young" for me , but its SO popular ! I smell it absolutely everywhere i go. Bravo to BS and Elizabeth Arden for leading the market in Celeb fumes.
Crisply clean / fresh / sweet/ juicy/ earthy/ natural / dewy / fruitchouli scent. 9/10 , best for spring summer , daytime wear and any age can wear and enjoy !
I love it. i always come back to this one i dont know why :D
to me i get a smell of strawberrys?? its probably the guava i can smell though
This is one of the most mature fragrances in the Britney Spears fragrance line. It is fresh, very wearable and super long lasting. I expected something sugary sweet when I bought it, but I instead got a green, slightly sweet scent that is refreshing and bright. It has grown on me ever since and I currently enjoy wearing it during hot summer days.
I just smelt this today and OMG It's nothing like the others perfumes from the britney spears line, it is a fresh fruity scent which smell sophisticated and classy. I love it.
I am so shocked by this fragrance! I don't care for celebrity fragrances at best, never mind Britney. But when I tried it (which was by mistake btw), my reaction was "Really?...! Britney Spears?... Is this some kind of trick?..." It's nothing like the sugary sweetness that one would expect. I found it to be sophisticated and long lasting. I'm still shaking my head in "disbelief" at what a great scent this is! It should be called "disbelief".
The reason I love this purfume is because when I was little I had a barbie that came with purfume, a bottle for me and a bottle for her and this purfume is what I remember our purfume smelling like.
After sniffing this on my wrist a few good times, I think I finally figured out what this scent reminds me of...my middle school art class. It sounds odd but I picture pencil shavings, erasers, fresh watercolor paints and big fresh pads of drawing paper. Oh, and the gold liquid soap to wash your hands with at the sink :) It reminds me of this so much and in the best way possible. A very cozy scent that brings back fond school memories.
Alot of people said that this perfume smells very heavy that it's just like a men's cologne. I just bought a bottle of it from Shopper's Drug Mart today, and I do think the scent it's a bit stronger and definitely not fruity and sweet like Britney's other scents, but I don't find it smelling like a men's cologne, it's actually very nice and long-lasting!
This is Britney all grown up. It really stands apart from her other frags (some of which I own and love). The burst of guava at the first spray is sweet but not sickly so, it's more of a "fresh sweet". The dry down has the same sweetness but has some earthiness to it also. I bought this in the winter and really didn't enjoy it that much but this spring I'm really loving it. In warmer weather the sillage is toned down on my skin and the scent is actually pretty soft. I can understand the comparisons to TM Angel and think if you like Angel you probably will like Believe. It's not a crowd-pleaser by any means but it will please some. Longevity is good, 6+ hours.
Horrid.
Bought it blind due to good reviews, sale price and my love of Guava.
Synthetic, household cleaner smell.
It went straight into the bathroom as an air freshener.
Everyones sence of smell is different. Each persons nose will pick up different notes in the same fragrance. While my desire for a certain scent will differ from day to day, this oone is always in my top 5! Gorgeous.
Believe is my favourite Britney Spears perfume, it smells so good and the bottle is stunning. I love the guava which is fruity without being too sweet. The floral notes are soft and beautiful. There is a little bit of spice and the dry down is earthy and delicious. Sophisticated and sexy!
This perfume makes me feel super sexy & sophisticated. Whenever I want to feel at my best, I put it on & voila! I'm a vixen lol ;). It has become my BF's favorite scent...! it is rich, sexy, fruity, musky... And the guava is soo different than anything else. Heavenly!
It's interesting to me that I have come to love a britney scent so much, but hey, it's great stuff :) I found 100 ml for $20. It's my biggest, cheapest bottle of perfume & my fave!
BELIEVE opens with a sweet, fruity burst of guava and tangerine. Sweet, but there is also a freshness here, so the fruit never becomes sickly sweet. Maybe lemon or lime?
It’s the soft, powdery florals that make BELIEVE stand out from the current tidal wave of ‘sweet shop’ fragrances that have been cropping up with alarming frequency. The middle notes lend a ‘grown up’ feel, and tone down the lingering fruit notes.
The base notes of patchouli, amber and pink pralines lend comforting spice and warmth, minus the sugar rush I was expecting. These notes become detectable almost immediately on me.
While BELIEVE may just be the latest in a long line of sweet fruity/floral, it knows where to draw the line between pleasantly ‘come closer’ sweet and ‘child’s first perfume’ syrupy sensory overload.
In my opinion BELIEVE is Britney’s most 'grown up' fragrance, so it is a fragrance that grown women can easily wear without embarrassment.
saw an open bottle of this and finally had a chance to spray myself.
immediate thoughts were "gres cabaret" dupe.
bright patchouli enhanced and illuminated by rosyness and guava.
i'm surprised this also wasn't categorized as a fruity chypre?
gorgeous, mature and striking. definitely the most sophisticated grown up scent britney has released.
the bottle is also quite lovely, a spinning prism of green light.
i plan on investing in a bottle.
Another update! Lol! This has a wine cooler essence I did not notice before. It has boozey elements, I still love it!
This is my second review on this and this time I have purchased it! I still love it!Now it seems like a cross between that fun dip white powder we ate as kids and the praline, still in love! Scored it for $20 at Ross! Ppl seem to sleep on this one but that's just means everyone will not wear it. Great!
Update: After abt 10 mins, this is similar to Candies brand fragrance. And the reason being is that Candies also has peach and has mandarin orange, however this one has tangerine. Same difference. My nose figured it out. lol
I like the topnotes of this perfume as they come across very fresh, albeit a tad medicinal, but then the patchouli comes through fairly quickly.
This is an interesting fragrance because as it dries down, the patchouli mixes with something else that ends up smelling like a fresh pinewood campfire. In my world, that is a good thing!
This is a fresh, woody, smokey fragrance, and any reference to sweet or dessert scent in this perfume is just not at all what it is. In fact I wear this when I am sick of the same sweet scents, to give my nose a break from what everyone else wears. This seems like it would be great for the type of girl who loves the great outdoors. I love it!
I love Britney Spears, she's like my idol. And my goal is to have all her fragrances, no matter what. I received a bottle of this for christmas and was so excited! I sprayed it on me (I thought it spelled decent) but a few hours later I got a headache from it and I was so disappointed! I guess I'm not a fan of woodsy smells, however I still love Britneys Frgrances and I will keep it in my collection.
the reason everyone is comparing this with t.m's angel, is because they're in the same league - if you like one, you'll probably like the other.
i dont like angel, and i dont like this one.... perhaps im too young, perhaps its too sharp. im more of a flowerbomb girl.
I love this scent! It's mature but young at the same time. Very sophisticated!
I bought this blind after reading so many positive reviews, saying it was tropical, praline etc... And I love Britney's Fantasy, Midnight Fantasy, In Control etc.. After first spray it is so strong and citrus then it just turns into Toilet Duck- it stinks soo bad like bathroom cleaner :( i scrubbed it off as soon as i got home, but i can still smell in on my wrist 17 hours later it's disgusting!! You've let me down this time Britney! :'(
Whimsical feeling: long review! Sorry in advance! lol. I will here be honest: this was on my dislike list not so long ago: it turned to a spicy food -like smell on me... BUT!!Now that the summer and the hot and humid country air hits me with the smell of freshly cut grass, I decided to give this fragrance another try. In winter, all I could smell was the patch and oddly enough, it smelled like I had just come out of a mexican restaurant :O ! But to my great, joyful and gleeful delight, this lovely mint-green 'frog' just sitting pretty on my vanity became my Faith crystal:My Prince!(wink) I am now in love with this guava and tropical zestyfruit topnote that just refreshes my senses like a sudden rainfall on a warm day while the sun shines , creating rainbows all over the green dewy grass!). An earthy , zennish scent that becomes lusciouly feminine during the drydown. Vanilla, musk and that delicious note of praline linger for so long! I can still smell it on my bedding 2 days after! Men seem to gravitate towards this scent ,ladies!: fresh, fruity, green, slightly sweet and delicately gourmand, it enthralls my senses like an aromatheapeutic treat! My soul craves to BELIEVE (the scent just makes me so happy and confident!) I must add : i am in love with the bottle. A perfectly faceted crystal, like a peridot or green quartz. Kudos for the elegant packaging! I gave my first one away to my miece but this one here I shall be keeping VERY close at hand this summer! I have splurged on DKNW DELICIOUS (MY ETHERAL GREEN APPLE!) and I find a resemblance between both. perhaps it is just my olfactory memory playing tricks on me?? The drydown has finally hit: YUMMMM! gourmand buttery pralines and spicy patch! Smells ever so elegant, sensual, mouthwatering, freshly classy (and yes... I must admit it does have that Angel -like vibe during drydown, but it's so much more summery and fresh -like a crisp spring breeze when we can smell the moss in the air: Now that I know during which Season to wear this elixir and delight in it , I shall repurchase And soon!... as in : next month!(we have it on special here for 20$ , the 100 ml) I swear! This delicious aroma wafting around me makes me joyfull, energetic and zesty! Most importantly, this fragrance cuddles and comforts me like my beloved Angel but instead of being under a thick velvet cover, I find myself in a lush tropical lagoon! I like to layer it whith Be Delicious (dkny)for added fruity freshness. :I get most compliments when they are layered...interesting fact). sorry if this was exhaustive but this scent just seems to suddenly give me wings! Call it a leap of faith!
Should I dare like another Britney scent? Well, I guess that cat's out the bag! I've worn Fantasy, Curious, and In Control in the past but had not visited Brit Brit lately.
I was at Kohl's and I wanted to see what all the hype was about on this site. So, I sprayed it. Love Love ! This stands out from her other fragrances for sure. I'm glad she decided to go not so sweet because it works in her favor. This smells a little sweet and a bit musky with a bit of fruit. I love scents that combine all three of these elements. I will definitely be buying this! Guava, praline, and musk!
Projection seems pretty good because I could smell it most of the day projecting from my arm.
Bought this today, finally! So cheap $30 for 100ml, and it smells even better than i remembered when i tested it. Deffintly last long, and smells beautiful. Very citrusy and fruity at first which is nice, then it dries down to a yummmmmy candy smell.
LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
I would not wear this in fall/winter time, but it is a great scent for spring/summer or any hot day as the fragrance is a nice light, long-lasting, and fruity but clean. Really different from her other ones which I adore. But this one is very light, smells like summer and simple. Perfect for day use on a hot day, and a reasonable price.
Will perchase for the hot weather as a daily scent.
xo
and a nice bottle too ;)
this fragrance is one of the best endorsed by any celebrity, the lasting power is good, the scent is excellent, a perfect combination of gourmand and light fruity florals.
This is not overly sweet like some celeb fragrances out there, This is in fact very pleasant and interesting and not cloying in any way. They managed to balance all the ingredients extremely well in this creation. Just enough guava, just enough patchouli, just enough of praline and everything else. I can imagine a young girl as well as a middle aged woman wear this.
Good work Britney!
I normally don't like patchouli because it smells like sweat to me, and I can smell the patchouli in this fragrance. But with the Guava and Praline it gives it a wonderful balance of the sweetness and softness; That even the biggest patchouli hater (like me) might even enjoy this and actually find it kinda comforting. :) I'm actually enjoying this...
This is my second review for Believe because after using it more, I'm able to give a more accurate assessment than my previous review.
It's citrus at first spray, then patchouli comes and dominates the scent. I always thought patchouli smelled slightly masculine and hippie-ish, but the way it blends with a fruitiness (guava?) makes it perfect.
A few minutes later I seriously thought I was wearing a different perfume, like what the hell happened to the Believe I was wearing??
It got even BETTER with a slightly sweet candy-like dry down (but not sweet like BS's Fantasy line).
This is not a sexy scent or a romantic one, but more of a casual laid-back perfume.
Believe is perfect for any age.
Britney Spears has some FABULOUS frangrances in her line! This is such a beauty, and unlike the original Fantasy which I shamelessly adore, this isn't overused. In fact, I would call this perfume underrated. This is a mouth watering, green, citrus, sweet, patchouli thing that lasts and lasts and just gets better on my skin. If you tend to dislike patchouli this is like a beginners patchouli, it is very smooth and not as deep or earthy as some other really intense blends. Believe is something I would wear in Summer, it is fresh, that freshness that I long for in the hot months. I wouldn't call it clean, it smells natural, not synthetic to my nose, like the fresh ingredients that go into a really good tropical cocktail. Delicious.
Just got this fragrance, i think its really nice, it isn't her most popular but i think its quite grown up and nice for most occasions. The one thing i would say is i don't think its very stong. Whether thats because my nose gets used to it very quickly or it doesnt project off my skin much i don't know but ive come across much stronger scents such as Reb'l fleur by rihanna. Its a sweet smell but fruity sweet unlike her mainly sugary sweet scents. Very different from her other scents so if you follow things like fantasy check this out out before you buy because it is nothing like the fantasy perfumes :)
I bought this today without sniffing it first based on the notes and the reviews I've read here. I'm not disappointed. It's sweet and much more tropical than I had envisioned. Believe is also fresh and clean smelling, and I think this would be a nice perfume for the Spring and Summer. I've got to say, I've been pleasantly surprised by all the Britney Spears perfumes I've sniffed so far! It's not very strong on me, with low sillage but has been detectable on my arm for about 4 hours.
I really wanted to love this. The notes sounded promising and there is something intriguing about it that I can't put my finger on. I do like the scent but it turns into something very antiseptic and medicinal on my skin. I think my husband said it best tonight when he smelled it on me.
"Mmmm, I haven't smelled you in awhile Uncle Mort."
Oh how I wanted to love Believe and for her to love me but we seem to not connect. She goes on breezy, ever so faint and... dissapears!! The luscious guava? boohoo ... I smell none. I must have gotten a rotten bottle or something. The reviews we so glowing...Perhaps later?
Shall report how it holds in Summer! xxx
HAPPY TO REPORT THAT THE GREEN FROG SITTING PURTY ON MY VANITY HAS BECOME A SOUL-PRINCE TO ME, LOL... IN THE SUMMER, IT IS A WHOLE NEW GEM! SEE REVIEW ABOVE IF INTERESTED ( IT IS SOOOO LONG, EMBARASSED :D)
I love this perfume, and a little goes a long way (at least on my skin).I spray it on at around 7 am and at school got many compliments on it even in last period. Is very clean smelling, and very happy and summery :) love it
Not my style and I couldn't keep myself awat from blind buying this...Big mistake for me...
Can feel the lime blossom in the front row,but the patchouli is more present than other notes and is kind of overwhelming...Not sweet, more freshly green,a bit bitter on me!
I guess I'll keep it until summer and try it again !
Sorry, but I don't like this. It smells like some kind of awful body spray you find at the drug store. I love guava, and while I do smell it here, it's a very synthetic scent, very icky. The heart consists of this sickly fruit juice mixed with a bit of honeysuckle. I've smelled fresh lime blossoms on the tree many times as well as several different lime blossom perfumes, and I was disappointed that I couldn't detect any lime blossoms here. The drydown doesn't have pralines in it; in fact, what drydown? The perfume disappears in a matter of 20-30 minutes. It's just a synthetic, mucky, mess. The bottle is cute, but it's filled with what looks like bug juice. Poor product on all accounts. I can't enjoy it at all.
Just got this today and is just an oh-so-pretty fragrance. For sure get the guava, which is the reason I wanted it, because I happen to love fresh guava and always eat a ton of them when i visit Egypt, so wearing Believe is gonna give me a little bit of a mental escape from the monotony of my usual routines. To me it's not sweet, is crisp and fresh, and i can still smell it now after about four hours.
For the first few seconds there’s a burnt-plastic smell, then the standard, stereotyped, celebrity fruity-floral ready-mix kicks in. As usual, it’s generic synthetic fruit and flowers over harsh, synthetic woody notes. The woods recede with time, leaving mostly the fruity-floral theme.
As it mellows, it improves, but still stays firmly within the territory of the typical commercial formula with slight tweaks. After an hour a lot of the initial sweetness is gone, and it’s sharply “perfumey” in an old-fashioned way. Predictably, it has mega-sillage and binds irreversibly to skin for 24 hours.
I have to ask myself whether I would judge it differently if BS’s name were not on it. After thinking about it, the answer is - not really. It’s OK for what it is; it’s just not a genre that I enjoy, in any of its guises. The opening would be fine as a functional scent for a cheap shower gel, shampoo or hair conditioner - something that mostly gets washed off. The drydown would be fine for someone who likes strong, conventional, 80s powerhouse-type perfumes, but it’s not a fragrance that I’d choose to wear myself.
I can imagine that young girls who buy this for its cute wrapping and furit-candy top notes might be surprised to find that they spend most of the day smelling like an 80s vintage perfume. After riding this one out, I’ve developed considerable respect for its silver-cougar-in-spring-lamb’s-clothing, bait-and-switch nature.
A Sensual Tropi-floral
What a lovely fragrance! I've owned it for several months now, and I find myself reaching for it several days in a row. I remembered smelling a magazine tester of this a very long time ago and wanting to test it out. Because it seems to be a bit less popular than Britney's other scents, I had trouble finding it in a store to try. After reading reviews of people who like similar fragrances to what I like, I decided to give it a mostly blind shot. I'm very pleased.
I love the melon and summery honeysuckle mixed with the deep, peppery patchouli and sweet-woody praline. I would call Believe a relaxed but sensual tropi-floral. It's a great fragrance for spring and summer. I love wearing it at the pool. Longevity is about 7/10. Sillage--not sure--but it's very easy to wear.
This is the best fragrance I've tried in a while! It bears a striking resemblance to TM Angel Sunessence Bleu Lagon, and I agree with others that have said that Believe conjures up images of the beach. I get that, too; I can feel the brisk wind rolling over the waves. Both fragrances have the fruity/floral/patchouli combination, and I also sense a whisper of cedar, even though it's not listed as a note in either one.
Believe is zesty, fizzy, bright and uplifting from the beginning, then mellows into an incredibly beautiful and unexpected sensual scent.
I can't BELIEVE I didn't try this inexpensive little gem sooner! (and it's half the price of TM's)
I bought this scent regardless of some of the bad reviews, without testing it on myself first, because I bought fantasy recently and I really liked it.I use to think the BSpears scents would be too girly for me because I'm 32 , but I was wrong! Her scents are lively because of the citrus elements, but are grounded by the basenotes. I was excited to put Believe on today after I tested a little, after I made my purchase yesterday, and I LOVE IT! It's such a bright, happy scent to me, but the basenotes make it appropriate for my age range. I keep getting breezes of its scent and it makes me feel good. It is a green, fruity, yet comforting scent and I would recommend to anyone from the ages of 13-35. Thumbs up! Looking forward to adding more BS frangrances to my collection. Happy hunting!
Love it!it is fresh in the beggining and candy in the end.Elegant and very classy.Works in the daytime very well and also on every age.
This is a review coming from a solid perfume, not straight out of the real perfume bottle itself:
It smells exactly like you are in the middle of the forest, opening up a piece of candy, and eating it!
I really can't wear Fantasy or stuff that smells cotton candyish/gourmand (it's too sweet for me), but I really, really love this perfume because if a girl loves the forest, but still wants to smell feminine and sweet among the pine, she is able to!
Honeysuckle, tangerine, patchouli. Nice, sweet, and feminine. Doesn't smell cheap, either, which is a major plus.
It finally hit me today that this shares much in common with Euphoria. It is a younger sweetened up version. I agree that when first applied it seems like a cloud of cotton candy dipped in patchouli (I don't mind thiis). I like it and am glad to have it in my collection.
i try it first... well i get some more of spicy in believe,, and a little citrus and guava.
it just 2 hours.. and after that i spray it again.. for 2 times...
waw,, it so good,, my hubby say it.. youre smell good. and it takes long lasting in my body..
i dont lie much patchouli.. it smell like boys i think but for belive it great..
7/10
liking this perfume more and more, there's a certain uniqueness to it - I love the fact that it stand apart from all the other UBER fruity -floral celebrity perfumes out there! The patchouli and the guava go well together, neither are fighting to stand out over the other. And the light green bottle is such a nice change from all my other PINK colored perfumes!
omg this perfume smells PERFECT!! the citrus is balances and in no way smells like a cleaning product, and the patchouli is spicy and warm withought being overpowering. that being said, i only realy smell it up close, and wish it were stronger! 10 out of 10 on smell, 3 on projection.
edit: for some reason it started smelling like cleaning products. skip this and buy karma by lush if you want citrus and patchouli.
Britney Spears' perfumes just make me so happy. I am probably in the older age group, but I just can't get enough of the fragrances. Believe is a perfect scent. Patchouli and a perfect balance of sweetness. Excellent longevity too!
I wanted to wait to review this until I had worn it for at least a week, but I love it too much to wait. As soon as I sprayed it on (it was a blind buy), it reminded me of something. It took me a couple hours to figure it out, but back in the early 2000's, Victoria's Secret made perfumes based on astrological signs. Being a Virgo, of course that was the one I had. I loved that perfume so, so much and I was so sad when they stopped making it. Believe smells almost exactly the same. It starts very fresh and fruity, I totally smell the guava. It feels almost quenching to put it on. After a while, the perfume fades on the fruit, and all I smell is praline and amber. I'm not smelling too much in the middle notes. I love honeysuckle, but I don't smell it. I'm almost glad though, lest this fragrance become too sweet. Right now I think the formulation is perfect, just the right amount of freshness and warmth, with a dash of sweet. The best fragrance in Britney's line, in my opinion. Lasting power and sillage are impressive as well.
I found Believe in discount and loved the bottle and green juice. I bought it without testing.
I instantly fell in love with Believe!
It reminds a little bit of LR Harem and Cacharel's Eden, but not too much. It is lighter, more fresh than them.
I think you have to love patchouli in order to love Believe. The notes of patchouli are strong.
This is a sensual, tropical perfume, which makes you feel great!
I love this perfume as I do all of Britney's fragrances. I find all of the fragrances in her collection to be so distinctive. Every time I wear a Britney scent I am often asked "what is that amazing perfume", or people say you "smell so good". Believe is a great scent because it is very appropriate for an "older" woman, I am 30 and say "older" because a lot of people consider Britney's fragrances to be juvenile (although I disagree). Believe is a perfect pathchouli fragrance, unique, just the right amount of sweetness and lasts a long time. I love it!
I have a green perfume problem. Nearly every green perfume I've ever tried has induced in me malaise if not full-fledged illness. So my natural inclination is to steer clear of green-tinged liquids. However, some of my BFFF (best fragrant friends forever) owned and wrote favorably of Britney Spears BELIEVE, so I acquired a tester bottle confident in my belief that this could not possibly be a simple toxic chemical soup.
And it's not. BELIEVE is a thick and viscous, rather sweet oriental perfume with a rich fruity aspect to it. There is enough spice in this composition to warrant placing it in the floriental rather than the fruity-floral category, it seems to me, especially now that the latter has been overtaken by sweet laundry frags.
BELIEVE has a distinctive identity. It does not smell like other perfumes familiar to me, and it has a kind of vague and intangible appeal, although I disagree with reviewers who describe this composition as "fresh" and "citrusy". It seems to me that both BELIEVE and MIDNIGHT FANTASY have the potential to grow on one over time. They have a somehow comforting side and the sillage is big like a bear hug.
Nothing in BELIEVE makes me feel sick, though it is a bit sweet relative to the sorts of perfumes I generally wear. I'd say that the quality is on a par with Calvin Klein or Coty Prestige and better than plain-old Coty celebrity frags, most of which are a big turn off to me. I also am not that fond of Elizabeth Arden (the parent company of the house of Britney Spears), but in this case they used high enough quality materials to make this perfume wearable even by me.
After a couple of hours, BELIEVE starts to seem a tad too thick and insistent, but I like wearing it every now and then, particularly if I know that there is a bath on the horizon. The bottle is FANTASTIC! It's the first ever I've seen of an octahedron in the perfume industry! Bravo! I would keep this bottle even if I hated the juice, but fortunately I do not, though I cannot claim to love it either. There is something strange and off-kilter--even unbalanced--about BELIEVE, but perhaps therein lies its appeal.
This is very different than all her other perfumes. The main notes I smell are guava & patchouli. It smells very much like Danielle by Danielle Steel perfume & Avon Rare Diamonds. Definitely a sparkling blend of exotic fruits, soft florals and seductive amber. This would be great for girls in their 20's & above. It smells expensive & not like your typical celebrity sweet fragrances. The projection & staying power are both amazing! Wonderful scent!
10/10 :)
This is great! I'm so pleasantly surprised by Believe. A celebrity fragrance definitely worth trying. The beginning is juicy sweet mango and tangerine, but the patchouli starts warming up right away. I am instantly reminded of CK Euphoria at this point, and am shocked to find that these two fragrances actually share only one note! But, honestly, this smells better to me. It's blended really well, and the patchouli is beautifully clean and peppery. The citrus aromas become perfectly balanced between sour and sweet. The patchouli lime blossom combination is just rock and roll to my nose! Starts very sweetly but becomes cleaner and dryer as it wears. I really am having a hard time describing this one more clearly, but I'll just tell you, if you like patchouli with sweet citrus and haven't tried this - you should!
Sillage very good, longevity good.
I saw a 100 ml on special and almost boutht it but am unsure now. On me , it turns bitter and dusty but I will have to try it again:Perhaps it's my chemistry (I am quite stresed these days) ; or the weather? I am certain it would smell awesome in summer. Shall edit! i love the ingredients, the bottle and your reviews are splendid! thanx xx
This is my fav of Brit. Not a big fan of her circus or fantasy or radiance...Yuck! But Curious and this fragrance are alright in my books!
I think this is probably her best fragrance in a way- the others tend to be really sweet and a bit the same (apart from circus fantasy) however there is an odd synthetic note that i detect at the start of this that puts me off of actually buying it. i absolutely love the patchouli type dry down that lasts for ages, oh what to do, to buy or not to buy??
First off, I'm in love with the bottle design! <3
Believe was sweet with a slight citrus at first spray, but afterwards it quickly settled into a light, floral and slightly sweet scent.
It's perfectly refreshing for hot weathers.
This perfume is for all ages.
this is like one of the best celebrity fragrances ever. I bought this one because it was on sale and the bottle looks gorgeous to me, but i actually didn't expect much from the scent, since celebrity fragrances are mostly sweet and don't smell really special. So i was really surprised how this smells really different and unique, but in a very pleasant way. I also like that this fragrance doesn't smell like little girls; in other words, it's a more mature scent and you should know that this amazing fragrance smells a little bit strong, so i would recommend to just spray it once or twice and other than that, everything about this fragrance is highly recommended,
I hate the instant smell of soda that goes to my nose when I first spray it. It good after it settles but its just uncomfortable till it does.
Kind of salty...pepper smell, it's defiantly not like a normal Britney Spears fragrance. I have to be really in the mood to wear this.
I like this one . I wear it in spring and summer, it's nice and refreshing . Tropical fruit and patchuli smells really nice on my skin. Lasts quite long as for BS perfumes(up to about 7 hours on me)It was a blind buy on e-bay but definitely worth it . It's not very strong , rather light and fresh but that is exactly what i expect from a 'summer fragrance'
I am nicely surprised by Britney.
Finally BS stopped and made something for LADIES! not girls. It amazing. I mean it´s not sweet sticky fragrance and that´s great. I smeel all the top notes that are named above. Very good lasting power. Over 4 hours on my skin, over 7 hours on my shirt. Like the fact it is making NO yellow mark under my armpit. Clean, decent, sophisticated fragrance. I had 100ml bottle. It´s nice shape, but cannot fit into my bag. I liked it a lot, but I feel we need a break. So after I finish the very last drop in my bottle I will try to find something else. at least for a while.
Lasting power : 7/10
Uniqueness : 10/10
worth blind buy : 7/10
Time flies and today June 2012 I purchased 30ml bottle. I MISSED THIS SMELL;)
It's good for the beginning, not over sweet. I tried both, Fantasy and Beieve. After 2hrs both still so good.. Then drydowns.. Believe is getting weird or something wrong with my nose so I sniffed Fantasy..which is really ok still.
Maybe it just not works for my skin.. I believe that
i got this a a christams gift last year and to be honest, im not a big fan of it. mabey it just doesnt agree with my skin and b.o chemistry but to me it smells like the sweet and the not sweet are competing and in the end result is a horrible smell. the lastingness isnt very long ether, lasts mabey an hour or so before it fades. the only good out of it was that i bartered it off to my sister, sorry brit

Let me just say, I tried to find something about this perfume that I like, but it smells so awful to me. I thought it had an older person quality to it, so I gave it to my mom. She took one whiff and put it in her bathroom next to her sink, so I thought "oh good she likes it, money hasn't been wasted."
Well... I thought I smelled it lingering in her bathroom one day but it smelled kinda off, so i asked if she had been using it, and she replied "yeah, i spray it in the bathroom after i go #2."
I laughed so hard! That's about all it's good for actually.
sweet and spicy scent. guava and pralines are the most prominent sweet notes here, and patchouli and amber add to the strength of the perfume. Great for summer. It is a stronger type of a perfume meant for special occasions and nights out. However, it has a potential to stink up on a wrong chemistry; something about guava in the perfumes does not work well with some.
Excellent lasting power-all day.
The green crystal-like bottle is magnificent.
I like this perfume, but I sprayed it on at 5 PM once (just one spritz) and woke up the next morning with my whole bed smelling like it (because I guess it rubbed off of me) but yeah this is STRONG. It's a really good smell, but it's not the most feminie one I've tried. It smells very mature. I only wear it to serious events because it smells like that type of thing. But not an everyday scent for me. I'm more of a Radiance fan.
This scent is very cologne like and synthetic smelling. I do not like the dry down and only enjoyed the first spray. For some reason, I find this similar to Angel by Theirry Mugler. It has an evergreen type scent to it.
I am no perfume expert. I read the reviews on this site and am blown away by the complexity of the reviews, so I know that mine will be rather simple...
That said, this is VERY different from Fantasy and Curious (probably her 2 most popular ones). While Curious to me is very floral, Fantasy is very fruity and sweet. Believe is VERY different by having more of a spice scent to it. I pick up the patchouli as the strongest note in this one.
I don´t know why, but this scent reminds me of apples. Apples with some lemon juice. After a while it settles down and developes a rich sweet praline scent.
I love it! Different from the other Britney perfumes, fresher and less sweet.
I was so in love with this perfume, unfortunately it turned to be a monster to some people, especially to my boss when he once made fun of me and asked, did u just fall into a drain? ...since then i didnt wear this perfume anymore .....
Top Notes
The top of this fragrance is BRIGHT and very warming, guava and tangerine together create a perfect citrusy sweet duo.
Middle Notes
In the middle we have honeysuckle and lime blossom. I haven’t spent any time at all with the accord of “lime blossom” but, there is a very apparent tart snappy vibe paired with the obvious accord of sweet dewy honeysuckle.
Base Notes
Hmmmm…Can anyone name which fragrance this base is similar to (hint, 1992)? I always love amber and patchouli together, the two accords never fail to balance themselves out perfectly. Amber being smooth and a bit vanill-ic to my nose and patchouli being very earthy, vibrant and effervescent.
Assessment
Today i have captured my first Brittany Spears scent, Believe. While not being a fan of hers in the least i must say that if Brittany herself had any hand in creating these then i applaude her. I can still remember that curious add from 2004 and how different i thought the bottle was. This assessment isn’t about Curious though, it is about Believe.
While i have smelled both many times before and I do Believe there is a place for all of them subsequently on the market there is still a giant question mark in my head, stabbing in my brain “DONT YOU THINK THESE SMELL THE SAME A LITTLE BIT?” I DO, I DO I reply to myself, BUT, that doesn’t mean i can’t appreciate all of their subtle differences. One must admit Brittany really DID invent the whole “Floral fruity” phase in the 2000’s-Today, so there is no excuse of “unoriginal” because she STARTED the genre!
'Believe' is a pleasantly suprising perfume that it very different from Britney's 'Fantasy' fragrances. I spritzed it on my wrists and I was overwhelmed by a strong smell of spice but thankfully it settled to a sexy, floral smell. It's alot more sophisticated than her other perfumes so it'd be the perfect 'date' fragrance. If you are used to Britney's sweeter fragrances you'll be very disappointed but if your looking for an alluring and more mature scent, this is the perfect fragrance for you!
UPDATE: I really like this perfume but other people dislike it on me :[ My friends said it smelt horrible, too musky and green. I guess I'll just have to where it when nobody else is around.
I love this fragrance! I agree with the other post that it is not like the other Britney scents, this is unique and more mature not candy or bubblegum like the others. I always receive compliments from men they always say I smell amazing and want to know what it is but because I'm in my 40's I just say my own little mixture because I feel funny saying I'm wearing Britny Spears! This really works on my skin and last forever even when I can't smell it anymore others do, this has become my signature scent!!
Believe is a strong fresh scent that is not like the other britney fragrances. Its a lot more mature , the patchulli gives it a spicy kinda feel to it so to me it smells like fresh spicy scents . it lasts all day dont put too much on you skin :)
LOVE this perfume so much. I'm on my 2nd bottle; I can't get enough of it! I sprayed it on me before I walked into class, and the guy I was sitting next to turned around and said, "Oh my god, you smell amazing!" haha :) Recieved so many compliments over it, 10/10.
just bought this fragrance.... well i love it, feel like a queen of 'guava' when i'm spray it on my body.. and it actually long last on my skin compare to radiance... i'm just in love with this fragrance..
i love this perfume, it works great with my body chemistry, just knowing it had guava make me by it blindly, glad i did because i love it, yet on my sisters skin i cant stand it so definitely try it before buying it, you may not be as lucky
This is bright and snappy. Sweet but mature. The guava is very sweet and fizzy, but there is a very spicy blend underneath it. Tons of patchouli, would not recommend to anyone who doesn't like that. The patchouli is super well blended with pralines and amber. This is a very strong perfume that lasts forever. It's a very sharp scent that is uplifting. Definitely something people will notice.
I really like this perfume. I got it years ago for christmas and can't really put my finer on it but to me, it just smells different. Like nothing I've smelt before and I love it. There's just something light but sexy about it.
light and fruity to me.
this fragrance reminds me of summer, it makes me so happy when i smell it - im on my 2nd or 3rd bottle and i just cant let that last drop go
I dont really know what to make of this fragrance,I really wanted it from the tester i smelt then, when i actually got it I was kinda like really?! It really reminds of joss sticks in way but in another point its lovely and sweet!confused.com im gonna stick to fantasy for now.
Sweet, gourmand, pulp-y sundried fruits sweetness! The opening of Believe is a blast of surprises. It has the nearly-annoying nearly-fantasy-sugary sweet, but not as annoying or cloying; it has a bit freshness squeezing out from the sweetness, it smells a bit fruity and nice (I guess it’s the guava and tangerine combo). Up till this point, it’s a lovely surprise, just like when you get disappointed and thinking maybe it’s another generic celebrity perfume, Believe shines.
Surprisingly Believe is rather linear to my nose, sweet, non-cloying, a bit like dried fruits with a mere hint of patchouli-y smell.
It’s a nice scent and totally different from other Britney’s offerings. I like it the most for its personality and wearability. However, apply with a light hand; a bit heavy might make you feel uneasy especially in warmer weather. I’d suggest keep a small bottle or a decant of this one will do, no rush for a bigger bottle if you like it but also in the exploring part of you perfume journey. Because nice as it is, you’ll get tired of it rather fast.
This one is different from Britney Spears' typical releases - much less sweet and a hint more sophisticated. I like the opening of juicy guava and honeysuckle. There's also an unusual raisiny scent in this perfume. Unfortunately I like it less and less as it dries down. It smells progressively more like "laundry," which I assume comes from the linden blossom. A decent scent, but not really for me.
A very, very basic cheap mixture of lime and apple, a young Unisex scent, which some may feel is not worthy of the status parfum, but it could be to others a sexy, long lasting, projecting bomb, which is unusual for a fresh aroma and it is so affordable..
0-1 hour = Quite intense Lime intially, then lime cordial, then apple juice which is very dilluted. I appreciate it lists Guava but the U.K is a little far away from that..sporty frag perhaps, nothing seductive or sexy whatsover
1 hour- Hmm, ultra basic scent, how can this be classed as a perfume?, its so cheaply made, the ingredients are minimal, it projects quite well though. Brief limited glimpses of masculinity. Not really masculine though, instead a fruity scent which is non-gender specific
2 hour - Hmm, fairy dish washer tablets with lots of soap
3 hour - A basic scent, so why is it still projecting?
5 hours - Intermittently projecting 1 foot around, impressive, yet does smell a bit like sickly cheap washing liquid
6 hours - 10 hoursStill projecting...my windscreen is dirty so...
So cheap, £9.99 for 30ml EDP, perhaps I could combine this with something else? It makes me chill and I love it for that
Sporty Frag or could be used to induce vomit, split jury I think?
I bought 30ML for my wife and then bought 100 ML, she loves it and after a while, so do I
What an unusual vibe among female perfumes, like a men's resiny cedar on top of a toilet-duck citrus. Uber-synthetic but captivating all the same. It grabs your attention right away and lasts a long time. The Britney label and the silly name Believe do the perfume no favours. It's wierd that it's good, and better than I expected by a long way. That said it's not one I'd buy again, because after the astonishment wears off, it's easy to get very tired of it. I picked up a 30ml for £9.99 at T K Mxx so it was certainly worth it just to experience chemistry as adventurous as this in a celebrity scent. If you love piercing citrus and highly medicinal cedar aromatics you will appreciate Believe.
When first sprayed it has a really strange chemical scent, almost industrial (like something that might peel paint). It is VERY masculine smelling, in a free-love hippy sort of way. It's also very distracting, I couldn't even think properly when I wore this.
Very fresh summery scent perfect for everyday use. Reasonable priced and lovely bottle. I'm a fan of the britney perfumes, i think they are all indivdual and all equally delicious !! I recommend this perfume, so pretty and fruity ! =D
Strong and spicy. Don't like anything about this smell. It smells yucky, especially when just sprayed. It doesn't remind me of Curious in any way. To compare this one and Curious, I would have to say that Curious smells better.
Masculine, citrusy and a spicy bite, clean.
I guess this would qualify as unisex, it's to fruity and sweet to be just for men but has that masculine sense.
If you don't like patchouli you probably won't like this perfume.
I dont like this one. I do like a lot of the britney spears line but this one is way too strong. It smells like fruit punch, and something else very sweet(maybe blueberries?). Maybe a body mist would've been better? I dont know, its just a little odd for me, and makes me thirsty when i smell it.
Strangely, I get a note of Fahrenheit in this perfume!.. and also some fishiness.... hard to explain! It's a nice fragrance but a bit too "fruity-sharp" for me.
In my opinion, Believe it's kind of... understandable fragrances, At the first time i din't like it, but i noticed that once I put on my skin and go out everybody start to say, hey you smell so sexy i like that perfume... what is its name? I'm not into notes frangances or whatever...i just i can say that it's a sexy perfume and it's more suitable at night time...
When I wear this I feel sexy and confident! One of my faves. Can be worn daytime or evening. I get lots of compliments on this one. Enjoy!!!
* its not a really fresh scent, its more deep and rich scent..
* for evening or night out..
* more suitable 25+
* quite memorable..
The bottle and the juice look great!
It was a blind buy - I was tempted by raving reviews. So far I do not regret it, because I paid ca. 15 EUR for 100ml, so it is OK, but I guess that I am not a "floral fruity" girl at all, especially when the fruits disappear in a blink of an eye, and what comes later is rather overwhelming smell - is it the honeysuckle + patchouli mix?
This is for sure quite long lasting and overall not a revolting smell, but I am still trying to figure it out...
I do not get anything masculine from it, it is quite warm so definitely not for scorching summer, IMHO.
UPDATE: I am learning to like it now, the patchouli really starts to win my heart, and the lasting power is amazing - definitely works better on colder days.
it opens sweet smell of guava with a tangy tangerine scent then it settles into your skin leaving a hint of sensual amber and spice, feels more grown up then her other perfumes
So different because Britney Spears makes candy like perfumes!! I wish i had the 30ml because the 100ml i have is huge!!
I hated this one at first b/c it was so different from her other frags. I gave it a second chance and I'm glad I did. Juicy guava in the beginning and yummy pralines in the dry down. Oh yeah, the staying power is awesome too!
the first impression when u spray over your skin is guava mix with something from the heaven , that was so really uniq and you can't find it on any fragrance , after that believe will turn to Tangerine smell until the end .
This is the type of perfume that you will find appealing yet you will not know what the individual notes are it is unique and Britney's most grown up scent
The notes were not known until searched
I have a clear impression about this scent: for me it smells like lupins. The garden plant with little pink or purple flowers, that become little bean pods. Believe drydown is tart and sweet and a little "beany" in the same way the lupins flowers do.
Had none her scents made it my first. After sample spray to my arm, hours later I noticed how fresh and appealling it was even with the fruits mentioned. I can wear to the office glad it is not too overdone in floral which is a nice change. Many seem to like! Glad I decided to invest!
My brother gave this to my daughter for Christmas. When she first sprayed it, I thought "Uh-oh" because of the initial sweetness. Then it transformed- it definitely runs the steps of top note, heart, and bottom note. I perceive the top note as candied apple or praline (unlike the perfume pyramid), transitioning to a brief floral heart which blends into a patchouli dry down.
While my "favorite perfume" is always changing, I have no choice but to place Believe as my signature scent because a) It's reliable- all seasons, anytime, anywhere b) It's an attention getter- lots of compliments c) It lasts FOREVER- sometimes even after bathing.
This is indeed a gorgeous fragrance with lots of staying power and decent sillage...For the opening, I get a bit of the tangerine, and that's it...It fast-forwards to the patchouli...I gave this one away -- to my husband! It was way too masculine on me which is not what I'm after for now!
The best among britney's frangrances, I've finished a bottle couple monthes ago and now I've started to miss it. It's a aquatice-fruity-musky kind of scent which is unusual but perfect for everyday wear in summer.
Way too spicy. I've smelled it on others and it makes it seem like they are covering up their BO with perfume. I'm really confused as to why I liked it in the first place. It smelled better in the magazine ad.
I get a bubble gum vibe whenever I put this on me, It seems everything turns sweet on my skin which Is fine by me because that is what I like but yeah this is a good one, very bold and daring like britney herself
I find Believe a very tropical fragrance. It makes me think of summer, beaches and holidays, I don't think it smells cheap at all. For me, a very "happy" fragrance.
I saw this today at my local Marshall's for $16.99 so decided to get it based on reviews I read on here. I saw one box open and took perfume out and did a quick spritz to my hand and walked around store. From the first spray and all the time I was in store it smelled wonderful. Then a couple hours later (after I left store of course) I kept getting not so good wiffs from my hand and it made me nauseous! Thank god I didn't even open my box yet, back to Marshall's it goes!
You know I'm not a big fan of patchouli at ALL I think it makes perfumes smell a bit on the older side of things but to my suprize I love believe its not heavy on the patchouli and that is probably why I like it. I get more of a sweet fruit smell from it, you can smell a hint of patchouli but not too much. It is a more grown up britney fragrance and I think it was a good turn for her line. Lasting power is great!
I bought this unsniffed in the internet because of the beautiful bottle, low price and the notes that sounded interesting to me. But I have to say it smells a bit too manly for me. And unfortunately I can detect the praline note in the dry down... I wanted to like this one but seems like I don't :(
LOVE britney but i dont really dont care too much for believe... its ok but its really strong and smells kinda manly... i only wear it when im mad at my husband so he will stay away from me because he doesnt like it lol
Nice and promising start - bright, juicy and sparkling. But as it gets to the middle notes, it starts smelling like a medicine. Because of that this is my least favourite perfume in Britney's collection. It puts me off.
This is one of the best fragrances I have ever owned. I recently bought Believe dirt cheap ($12 for the 50 mil), after hearing mixed reviews about it. My personal opinion is stated below:
Packaging:
The Believe box is absolutely gorgeous, I love the pink and green polka dots on the outside. The bottle itself is very pretty as well, with a unique sort of triangle shape. It's definitely one of the nicer bottles out there.
Fragrance:
Believe starts out very fruity, and it smells very citrusy on my skin (smells mainly like limes, oranges and kiwi)and fades into a nice, almost musky, citrus scent. The base notes combine very well with the top and middle notes, and contrary to some opinions, does not smell like menthol or a pine tree.
Lasting power:
Fragrances do not last long on my skin. However, Believe has proved to be the longest lasting for me, lasting around 5 hours. I know for other people they only put one spray of Believe on, and they are good for the day. So this is definitely dependent on your skin.
I would recommend believe for older teenagers, up to middle age adults. I feel Believe is best worn in spring and summer, but is good for day, and for a few night occasions. I wouldn't say this is for extremely formal events, however.
Overall, Believe is my favorite Britney scent. It's the perfect spring/summer scent, and smells wonderful. Marshalls and Ross both sell Believe at a pretty good price. Marshall's starts at $9.99 for the 30 mil, and goes up to $19.99 for the 100 mil. I would recommend you test this fragrance first, as it is not for everyone.
i really didn't expect to love this fragrance, i was hoping to even like it. i got this for a good price at marshalls a couple of weeks ago and this is my first time wearing it. this is very odd in the begining like it will be citrus, but it turns more into a strong menthol floral to me. when it dries it just captures the lime, patchouli and praline perfectly. ( and i am not a fan of patchouli at all), but this really works. this is unique and refreshing. i love perfumes that are different and can stand on their own. it has lasted on my skin nearly all day. i'm very happy with this purchase and i love the heaviness and art of the bottle.
As I'm a big fan of Britney Spears perfumes I finally got me a little bottle of Believe. I had tested it several times throughout the years but I never really liked it. It seemed too heavy and and even a bit 'greasy'.
But now as I'm getting older it has seemed to grow on me a little. I really enjoy the juicy fruity opening and the lovely linden blossom (I love linden blossom). Unfortunately the patchouli in the base is a bit too heavy for me. I need to get older to enjoy the base as much as the top and the middle notes.
I got to tell you one more thing - this is really heavy. Even for a heavy-handed person one spray would be enough. And it last the whole day.
I absoluetly love this scent. I'm not a fan of most of the other Britney perfumes (I don't dislike them, I just don't like them enough to spend my money on a full bottle).
The opening is a burst of juicy guava and another juicy fruit (I guess it's meant to be tangerine, but I'm not sure if I'd say that). Then as it dries down I can start to smells slight hints of honeysuckle and something sweet (praline, I believe). Then after a couple hours you can smell the patchoulli and amber. I think that the mix of patchoulli (which is rare to find in inexpensive/celebrity perfumes) and juicy guava makes this a really unique fragrance. Also the fruity top notes make it wearable for warmer seasons, while the warm/sweet base notes make it great for colder weather, so I think it's a great all year perfume.
Overall this is a lovely scent from start to finish. I think that it's far more mature and unique than any other Britney scent, and in fairly large collection of perfumes it's one of my favorites. It's unique and I've never smelled anything like it, high or low end.
But I would suggest that you try before you buy because a lot of people think this smells like a mens' cologne. Also there's a split between the people who smell it, some people love it and others hate it.
I like the Britney fragrances in general, and this one smells way better than any of the others. It's a sweet, gourmand, floral treat. I've tried the matching shower gel and lotion too, and they also smell divine. I'm starting to think each Britney fragrance is better than the one before it.
I fell deeply, hopelessly in love with Believe from the first moment I smelled it. I know fruity florals aren't considered classy, but I don't care....and honestly this is more than a fruity floral to me. I too detect cedar wood, which I find very comforting. I love woodsy perfumes, they make me feel safe...so to me this perfume has a very good balance of juicy , mouthwatering fruit and the depth and elegance of woodsy tones kind of like Hilary Duff's With Love. This gorgeous perfume is warm, tantalizing, cheeky, but has lots of heart.
BELIEVE opens with a sweetly, fruity burst of guava pulp and tangerine. Sweet, but not sickly sweet, witha sharp, tangy undertone. It's not as overpowering in it's sweetness as FANTASY, IN CONTROL or MIDNIGHT FANTASY.
It's the middle notes of honeysuckle and linden blossom that make BELIEVE stand out from the current tidal wave of 'sweet shop' fragrances that have been cropping up with alarming frequency. The middle notes lend a 'grown up' feel, as the sweetness in the scent calms down.
The base notes of patchouli, amber and pink pralines lend comforting warmth and depth, minus the sugar rush I was expecting.
While BELIEVE may just be the latest in a long line of sweet fruity/floral, it knows where to draw the line between pleasantly 'come closer' sweet and 'child's first perfume' syrupy sensory overload. BELIEVE is Britney's most wearable fragrance that grown women can easily wear without embarrassment.
out of ALL of my perfumes..even the expensive ones..this is my FAVORITE!! such a pretty smell..that lasts and lasts i love it..i was lucky enough to get 3.4 oz for $10!! on sale at CVS. although it is not listed i smell cedar.
When I tried this, I was certain that I got a top note of pink pepper, which made it mildly interesting before it ran down the masculine aftershave route into cheap oblivion.
Funnily enough, I did guess that inspiration was derived from Angel but this version is all wrong!! Buy Angel!!
I believe, this is one of the fruitiest scents on the market and as much as I love fruit in my perfume this one is not for me. The fruit here don't come off fresh but rather like fruit in a dessert. They smell cooked, I suspect that is the handy work of the pralines. Not sexy, therefore, I would recommend this to a young girl as her first perfume.
I bought this for my daughter last Christmas and she has already used the entire bottle. She loves it and I think it smells great. It seems like a scent that would be good for any age, but it may be a bit on the seductive side. I like this perfume a lot and it's an unusual scent. It would be nice to be standing next to the ocean with this scent because that's what it reminds me of.
Tried this today for the second time after the first one ended with horrible scrubbing...
The opening was again very loud with sharp fruits. Citrus and something annoying, sweet almost overripe. Maybe it is the guava?
When it settles it becomes a bit more wearable and softer with the praline note. But that annoying fruity "fresh" note is still there. And now accompanied with something herbal/minty/earthy fresh (patchouli?).
As said before, I agree it`s a mix between dish washing liquid/air freshner and some men cologne. Anyway it`s definately nothing I want to smell like!
"The fragrance opens in fruity mouthwatering notes of guava and tangerine. The heart is 'maidenly' delicate and pure (honeysuckle and linden blossom). The base is highly feminine and sensual, a beautiful accord of patchouli, amber and sweet praline notes ...."
Er, no it doesn't! The opening is definitely not fruity or mouthwatering, the heart is not 'maidenly' delicate or pure, and there's absolutely nothing feminine or sensual about this pongy mess of a 'perfume'.
I tested Believe today and thought it was horrible. It smells synthetic, cold and strangely antiseptic and clinical. It's so different to Britney's other fragrances, and in a very bad way. Most of her fragrances are very sweet and some of them are quite generic, but all of them are better than this stinker! I spritzed Fantasy and Midnight Fantasy on my other arm when I was testing Believe and, sweet as they are, they were a relief compared to Believe! Fantasy in particular I quite like and might even buy it!
This really is one weird fragrance. It brought to mind another fragrance which, to me, is extremely similar (and it's most definitely not feminine or sensual either because it's a male fragrance!) - Kouros. Yuck!! Both are equally horrible.
This is clear, crisp and lovely with linden blossom nearly as delightful here as in my beloved Annick Goutal: Eau du Ciel, which I consider near Holy Grail in status. Believe has a younger feel though, with that whiff of caramel underlying the green near-minty freshness. Yes, the guava opening is a bit of a sweet/sour shock & reminds me of the same bracing feel of 4711. But then the amber oozes in and warms up the place. The patchouli sneaks in under the amber and adds what I think of as "chewy" feeling. This celery green juice in the paperweight bottle is an unexpected crazy good surprise and delight.
Each time I wear this some smiling person asks me what it is and every time it results in an expression of shock when I say it's one of Britney's.
Brit's others do nothing for me & I see here those who love those others seem to dislike this one. I can only applaud the Arden folks' marketing genius in trying to expand their market by creating something truly different in Brit's line & thereby expand their customer base.
This seems to be in every U.S. discount store right now in 30ml ($12.99) and 50ml ($16.99) boxed bottles. Grab one - you won't regret it. I have the 100ml bottle and it's heavy enough to serve as bedside protection; seriously, you could crack a skull with this baby. No girly girl bottle here!
This is simply a stunning surprise. Opens slightly masculine and borderline gingery without the spicy aroma; dry and almost bitter. Then Believe quickly transforms into juicy guava, soft tangerine and ripe linden (lime) blossoms for a fantastically clean, crisp, yet fruity introduction.
Patchouli provides an earthy, backdrop for a whisper of sweet honeysuckle; linden continues to sparkle.
Drydown is sweet and clean, warm with a light caramelly sensuousness. The dryness lingers right into the finish but still manages to feel sunny and luminous.
I'm not a fan of Britney or any of her other fragrances, but this one's a definite keeper for this 36 year old!
I so want this because it helps me to believe in myself and it really brings out the confidence in me whenever i spray it :) Also I think its a fab sweet floral scent for Springtime :) xxx
I will totally admit that when I first smelled this a few years ago I totally hated it. I thought it smelled really weird and too manly. But, when I went over to my friends house and saw he had this, I had to try it on and see for myself. When I sprayed it on I noticed a lot of different spices and juicy fruits hitting me all at once, but, it died down quickly a mix of spices and it almost, to me, smelled floral. This is a really different scent to me, especially considering all of Britney's other perfumes are either sweet or cotton candy, Believe was a nice different touch. Soon, I found myself ordering the biggest bottle online and now I have it for myself.
Believe is that classy sister who lives for diamonds and champagne on the most expensive yatchs who has all the guys falling for her.
I feel that Believe is a more older scent, but I think late teen to early 20's would be perfect. The lasting power is great. Around 5 hours at the most. One of my faves. I wear this all the time in the summer/spring. Perfect for hot weather. I get a very clean feeling when I wear it.
I think Believe is an acquired taste or in this case "scent" but I love this perfume. It is like nothing I have ever smelled before. It is very unique and fresh with a minty aroma. The bottle is also very beautiful which is one of the main reasons why I bought this.
I really adore the flacon of believe, however, the scent is very fresh but not like citrusy summery fresh, to me it's like a minty & sweet gum scent like double mint gum...but I could smell a hint of flowers. The minty cool freshness scent still there until the drydown.
I also realize that it smells like my Cleene 70% ethyl alcohol, kinda smells like what they use in the hospital.
I don't think I like it but I don't hate it...still a nice scent but not for me because I don't wanna smell like a gum or like I've been to the hospital.
I love this scent. This scent is AMAZING!! Simply AMAZING it is soooo nice. I have all of Britney Spears scents and this is one of my favourites. I LOVE LOVE Love Britney Spears Herslf I LOVE BRITNEY SPEARS,,, YEAH>>>
I like this scent of Britney's. It's different which is why I like it. It doesn't smell like 100 other perfumes. It has its own unique smell. And the bottle is so lovely I have this one showcased on my dresser. Bottle is just as unique looking as it is smelling.
I love this pefume. It's so light and not a typically generic smell- it's very unusal and every person I met the first day I wore it complimented me on it and I still have people asking about it now, when I'm on my 3rd bottle!
I typically LOVE her perfumes ... so I went in expecting to love it. But it was HORRIBLE. It didn't have that floral, fruity aspect that I typically love. It reminded me of hospitals.
This is not my favorite of the Britney perfumes but I do tend to wear this in the summer and when I do I always get a ton of compliments. The patchouli does not come thru overly strong on me but the guava and other fruity things do. It has amazing staying power on me so I tend to only wear this in warmer weather.
Absolutely horrendous. Smells to me like a hospital and makes me feel sick. Also after a while it kinda smells like dirty socks.. Ugh. This perfume should be discontinued.. I can't believe anyone would buy this let alone wear it.. It smells discusting.
Shame. I actually do like a lot of britneys other scents. (curious, radiance etc)
Not a favorite of mine but on the very odd accasion it's alright. Patchouli doesn't work for me very often. And that really takes over after about an hour of wearing this. I like this when first applied it's like a mixture of Tangerine and Guava and a well balanced mixture of the rest of the notes. The Patchouli is there but in reasonable moderation. Then when the patchouli gets overpowering after an hour of wear I realize it's not my cup of tea. If you love Patchouli you should try this, as I feel that note is very heavy in this one.
Opens fresh and citrus(guava)infused..a departure from the sweet candy/fruit perfumes of Britney's line. You should test first if you're expecting the usual- Believe is a very clean, light floral musk which wears close to the skin. The patchouli is pretty subdued on my skin; overall pleasant and easy to wear but no wow factor!
The bottle is unique and Britney looks amazing in the ad campaign. As for the perfume, it's nice, though it may be a tad masculine for some (it's a green scent with a touch of spice). I think it could almost pass as a unisex fragrance. I haven't reached for Believe now that it's cold, but I'll probably pull it out again in the spring. I've recognized other girls at my university wearing Believe, and with the right skin chemistry it is actually a very pretty, interesting scent, despite its masculine undertones. Believe has unfortunately been discontinued, so if you like this fragrance, snap up a few bottles while you still can.
This has got to be my favorite out of all of Britney's perfumes! I adored it when I first sampled it, on skin it was MAGIC! Lasted the entire day!! The first thing that comes to mind after smelling it to me is a light chardonay or perhaps the way fruit-tingles candy taste like if you know what I mean. This scent literally makes my mouth water when I smell it!
I think the flask is quite stylish, as I have mentioned before I am a sucker for unique flasks and this one is pretty unique in my opinion! The colour of the fragrance is this refreshing, cool green which is totally what the scent is, cool and refreshing, atleast that's what comes to mind when I smell it ^_^
This scent is definitely one of my top five favorite fragrances along side Curious. Another completely delish scent by Britney who would have thought! <3
i completely love this perfume it's so fresh and lovely. The dry down smells so good on my skin and i will definitely be buying this fragrance again
This is a very interesting smell at first I couldnt pick up on what notes it had but than I realised it was actually Guava. If you like the smell of Guava fruit you will enjoy this one because personally to me its just like a bottle of Guava juice, which I do like. Lasting power is fantastic and the bottle is different great one to add to the collection
I've liked a few BS scents, but this one is odd. Where's the floral or the fruity? On me, this was too sharp and medicinal. More masculine than some men's colognes. Not what I hoped for. I like my scents a bit sweeter. Maybe I'll give it another chance when it gets really cold out... Oh well.
i don't like Britney's perfumes at all and i have to say i had a prejudice to Britney's perfumes but when i smelled this;i fell in love. it is so unusual and in opposition to other Britney perfumes,it is not that sweet, everything in it is in a right dimension, simply i loved this perfume so much!
Seems like if there's even a drop of patchouli in a perfume's composition that's all that shows up on my skin and Believe is no different....which would be good if I actually liked overpowering patchouli! Sorry Brit, for me this is not a keeper.
I really like this because it is unusuall. I feel very self concious when I wear it because people say it smells like cologne when it dries. I can see how they come to that conclusion. It is slightly like white diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor but not as strong. I will keep wearing it and try not to worry that I might smell like a guy because I like it and I suppose that is all that should matter. I will see how I go with it. It does not last on me and I have the lotion as well. Could be my skin.
tested the other day it stats off really sweet and sharp and then the dry down is little lighter i was with my brother and ask for his opinion he said it was ok while time the salesman told me to try Cartier something he said if ur looking for floral fragrance this one is better my brother said that cartier sample is better i wasn't sure which to buy anyway after 30 mins i was looking for believe and it was gone the only thing left is little woofs of sweetness and fruit couldn't recognize any ... 2nd try needed just to be fair
Believe is a very clean, crisp, sharp,a little bit on the oriental spicy side of sent. I truly love this fragrance especially when you consume too much of Britney's cupcake, chocolate and cotton candy. This perfume will balance too much of the sticky smell that gives you cavities. Believe grew on me and I really enjoy it.
When it dries down, the nice warm amber is very comforting. Good staying power and you can wear it daily.
I was totally prepared to not like this but, surprise,I do.ITS sweet beginnings and juicy fruit, really get ur attention.THe florals r light and smell real.THe brown sugar, caramel dry down smells great for fall.CAndied apples, perhaps. All in all a fume I would and will wear!
believe is more grown up smell from britney. its quite musky..1st spray is fruity then became musky with hint of fruit..i got sample for this, thinking to get purchase it someday, but might not buy full bottle because i only can wear it at night time at cold day...like it!
I just smelled this yesterday because I found it at the mall and it was at 40% off and I almost bought it... But i decided to spray it on myself and walk around first to see what it would turn into. It was VERY VERY spicy. At first i thought was all sexy. But then, it eventually turned into this awful cheap smelling men's perfume. My boyfriend hated it, and the worst part was, i couldn;t wash it off! I had to soap it off three times off my arm, and it still lingered.
This is very different to other Britney's perfumes. This is not cotton candy, this has patchouli but you can't smell it, at least not in the typical way. This is almost not sweet. I found it very spicy with a hint of soft vanilla. It's a more mature scent, not childish at all but still young and intriguing. Besides, this is not fresh as we can imagine by the color, not citrus, not sweet, not strong. It was a nice surprise to me. The flacon also deserves my compliments.
I don't know why I am just discovering this scent. I have all the other Britney perfumes. The others are strong fruit, sweety, candy juice (guilty pleasures).
This one,... wow, is so different. This is how I see it. Take a stick of Juicy Fruit Gum, mix with a stick of Spearmint, throw in a little patchouli.
It's really fresh and fruity. Sweet, but not sickenly sweet. Die down, looses a little of the fruity scent (guave, tangerine?) and leaves a kind of sweet lime, patchouli.
Normally, I don't like too much patchouli, but the combination of the fruits and all give this a "cool icy fruity" flavor. I used to have Angel a while back, however I don't remember if this smells like it or not, but I don't think so. The only similarity would be in the die down where the patchouli is more prominant.
I was about to buy it online after I've read those positive reviews. Few days ago I got a chance tested it at a counter in department store. I thought "good luck! let me try you now!" :)
After tried it, umm... it's the way tooo...sweeeet! Felt like having something too sweet too much until get squeamish. Plus, something in it just gave me headache.
Good luck, I didn't buy it :D
I tested Believe and it smelled like those little wrapped Jolly Rancher candies . It might be a fun scent but I don't believe it's for me.
Guava-patchouli non offesnive (and not too girly) fruity frag. There is definitly something exotic about it, but not in a cheap/fruit on steroids way, but since I detect an apple in it, somehow, and moderatly sweet pralines, it's also great for cold weather.
Love the triangle green bottle, very interesting. Really nice, overall. Probably the only Britney's perfume that I woluldn't mind having.
This is a floral fruity? To my nose more a sweet oriental, patchouli-ish. I must say, I really love the Spears perfumes I have so far! I also saw a great deal on the In Control Curious so I am now really 'Curious' about that Creme Brulee note. Let's hope it doesn't smell like egg! HAHA!
Ok so I ought this one back in 2008. At this point in my life I had no clue about fragrances and notes (top middle base) and therefore thought that a perfume smells like it does when u first spray it on.
Now that I know about fragrantica and perfume notes I am better able to choose fragrances I like based on notes and not based on popularity.
That being said... Believe is ok when u first spray it on but the Patchouli is STRONG!!! It is overbearing and I feel like I am choking with the patch. fumes.
The staying power on my skin is like a superhero which is sad cause just when I hope it fades off, it doesn't.
I eventually end up with a headache.
I was not able to tell if it's patchouli I did not like since i bought it before joining this site but now that I read the reviews I am sure it's the patchouli I dislike because I received Thierry mugler's angel as a gift and I had the same problem, I really hated it and thought it was overwhelming.
Now I know that I must stay away from anything with patchouli.
I still plan to keep this bottle cause it'll come in handy for keeping people away lol.
Maybe I will try to spray it on my legs so that it seems milder to me. Other that the patchouli, the fragrance notes seem good... I think Britney made a mistake in measurements and ordered waaaaaay too much patchouli in the ratio cause it really masks the other notes.
Adde note:
Okay so I just realized thatjuicy couture and pure orchid also contains patchouli and I am crazy about these perfumes so maybe it's the ratio of patchouli!!!!
I like this is really warm i get a lot of patchouli & guava but in a good way,is sweet but i think is between Fantasy and Curious, the first spray is fruity, the guava is very noticiable then it become more warm very woody,at this point i think is a little bit masculine (I love that),in the drydown the patchouli domintes the woody note,it last all day on my skin, the bottle is a master piece like all the Fragances from Britney (the only problem is the shape because its dificult get it in to my purse),the price is a little bit high for a celebrity perfume but it worth it,i totally recomend it. ;)
This is basicaly Thierry Mugler's angel minus the patchouli and some other woods and plus friut, its like an every day version of it
Believe starts out fresh sweet fruity, then turns into floral scent. Less sweet and lighter than any Fantasy line, but Believe has something synthetic left behind. Out of all Britney fragrances I have tried, this may be the one I'd pick personally tho because it is not too overwhelming or sugary. I will have to try Radiance and hidden Fantasy to come up with my own final thought.
Floral fruity gourmand, much in par with TM Angel. I have read the reviews here which state its not remotely similar and I *highly* disagree.... perhaps its my patch sensitive nose, but that dirty, earthy patchouli note is a ringer for TM Angel, the top fruity accords are the difference, and Angel is of course much sweeter. Believe is lighter, but the patch notes smell quite similar to me otherwise, and it FEELS very similar to wear. This is a heavy gourmand, and can be utterly cloying at times. Again the patchouli note adds to that heavy earthiness in this perfume, along the same line as Angel, it has a heavy earthy patchouli note as well and the resemblance is remarkable.
I'm not a patchouli fan, yet I own both Believe and Angel... they take a bit of getting used to. I didn't love either one of them when I got them, but wouldn't part with them either. Right perfume for the right day, and sometimes you need a day such as these call for, nothing else would do!
Is there such a thing as a "fruity aromatic" category? Believe could quite easily fit into this...
Believe, whose bottle design is easily the best of the Britney fragrances (why oh why didn't they make the glass match the juice colour?!) starts off on kind of an unsure note - is it oriental? Fruity? Musk? that slides and bounces around, but then settles into a comfortable sort of patchouli sweetness that's perfect for those who aren't used to liking that sort of thing. I'm warming to it!
My favourite perfume of all, ( well apart from Hidden Fantasy which was created for me I'm sure!)...I really love the spicy fruity smell. I always get many compliments when wearing it, and it is brilliant for longevity. No need to reapply during the day, and I adore the bottle.
Believe is probably the most sophisticated scent by Britney Spears. I think it is fabulous. Not alot of people enjoy it like her others. I guess because its nothing like her sweet Fantasys. Everybody loves the Fantasy line. Believe is just something different. Its like a spicy fruity fragrance. I love the spiciness from the patchouli and amber in the bottom notes. They work perfectly with the florals and fruit in the top. I think its wonderful and more people really should give it a try. I think it was probably her least successful fragrance launch. It could be because it was released when she was going through her melt down. Im glad to see that shes back in full form. I would love to see a Believe flanker. That would be nice. The bottle is probably one of the coolest on the market. I love the green. : )
This is very nice. Why would it scare people away because it´s Britney? If someone would scare people away it would be Paris Hilton. May all sins soon be forgotten.
The guava and tangerine burst at the beginning is sweet, not syrupy, and pleasant. Honeysuckle quickly slips in, and then an awkward phase starts as the praline, amber, and patchouli slide into place. Could it be the linden blossom that makes it slightly sour here?
Eventually it evens out with the praline and patchouli creating a blonde wood feel. To me it has a quality that leans towards a few aquatic scents I've tried. Very different. I agree it's a summer daytime scent. Don't be scared off by the fact that it's Britney.
I really had very little hope that I would like it, but when I found an unboxed bottle sitting on a shelf at Marshall's, I couldn't resist sneaking a spray! It turned out to be a floral-fruity-gourmand on me, and it's exactly my kind of scent: ethereal, girly, and sweet.
It instantly makes me feel like I am in some kind of fruity shower gel heaven. The juicy tangerine and guava top notes combined with lime blossom feel very refreshing and tropical to me. I can't say that the honeysuckle stands out much, but I definitely get caramel in the base notes. On me, patchouli tends to add a candy-like effect to notes that are already sweet on their own, so it must be here, because this scent is really sweet on me, and in such a lovely way.
It dries down really well, like any other good quality scent would. I love it, and my fiance loves it too. He was blown away that it was Britney Spears!
After trying & loving Fantasy I went ahead & bought this other offering from Britney Spears hoping it too would be fantastic. At first spray everything is fine, I love the citrusy guava smell , but unfortunately on my skin the patchouli really comes in way too strong mixing with the sweet tangy guava scent in a weird , off balanced way that just doesn't work for me.
It does seem to work a lot better on warm days , but the patchouli note is very overpowering on me always - kind of even masculine in my opinion.
I have to say I was disappointed in Believe after being so surprised at how much I loved Fantasy at first spray & after !
6/1/10 I'm writting about a week later after my initial thoughts here on Believe . Even though the patchouli note is still very prominent to me , this perfume is growing on me, I do love the guava & honeysuckle, the patchouli seems to calm down after a while.. I guess I'm still on the fence with this one , for some reason I get a carefree, hippy girl vibe with this scent , which is not a bad thing to me.
This is awfull, terrible! It is so sweet, sweeter than sugar! I don't know how anyone could tolerate it. Give me some salt and lemon, quick!
Britney NEEDS to come out w/ a BRAND NEW one soon!!! Im dying for something different from Britney!! No more Fantasy flankers!! If u must come out w/ another flanker, make it for Believe!! I want a whole new collection from her!! Come on B!! Do it!! : )
This scent is one of my absolute favorites! I love it! It surprises me that this is not a heavier scent, considering other patchouli scents I have known to be very heavy. The other notes balance out very well. I find it smells kind of like a woody scent that is light, airy, and soft-- more for women than for young teens.
After reading the many reviews I wanted to test this one, I'm not a fan of candy sweet fragrances so I hoped I'd like this one and found it for a great price! It's sweet, fresh, fruity, green and floral. A well blended fragrance, I can't pick out all the indivdual notes. I don't get the praline in it which I'm glad about, and the patchouli and amber give it the warmth and depth in the drydown which I like. I find it very unique and sexy! On my skin the lasting power is excellent, I love getting whiffs of it all around me! Wonderful fragrance!
Okay so I didn't love this fragance at first but now I am crazy about it. Had the sample for a few months and after coming back to it, I fell in love!! LOL!
Been desperately trying to find a good yet affordable fragrance with a tangerine note that works and I've found it.
When you first spray this it will make your nose tickle but that instance is pretty breif. The opening is juicy, fruity and a bit tropical. But it's not to sweet. Totally loving the combo of guave and tangerine!
The amber and patchouli also give it an edge that stops it from being a typical Floral Fruity.
Say what you will about Britney but her perfumes are rather unique and have an edge over many non celebrity fragrances. SO far this and the original Fantasy are my favorites from her line.
This is the fruity and juicy scent I have been looking for this summer! ;'D
Update: Just snagged a 3.3oz bottle for $19.99 from Marshall's! WOO! Man I love that store!! LOL! XD
Believe is a fragrance that uniquely blends a delicious range of juicy, sweet, spicy and earthy notes resulting in a perfume that is incredibly sensual with a very raw and natural feel to it. I say natural because nothing about Believe smells synthetic or has that hint of over sweetness.
The exotic guava, citrussy tangerine and lime blossom give the scent an initial burst of fruity freshness while the floral smell of honeysuckle smoothes out any sour-fruit accord, enhancing the sweet and juicy notes of the guava.
Gently running underneath the fruity fragrance is a warm, earthy, sugar-spice smell that perfectly contrasts the sweet start of the perfume.
Amber and patchouli are a very sensual mix, and when combined with tropical fruit such as guava create an exotic burst-of-sunshine-through-fresh rainforest-leaves type perfume.
This perfume smells like hot earth and fruit trees just after a long, humid rainfall. Add a cool honeysuckle breeze and the delicious baked-nut smell of praline and you have Believe :)
It is an exceptionally beautiful fragrance.
They really should make a flanker to Believe. I would love to see them play w/ other notes and have the same spicy amber finish as the original. And the bottle done up in different colors would be awesome! Its my favorite bottle from Britney. Its just gorgeous! : )
Believe is a great fragrance, I am REALLY liking this one, I think it is one of the better celelebrity fragrances out there right now. It is a fruity/floral but it has a great kick to it with the patchouli. A jewel of a fragrane that is quite matching the jewel shaped bottle it comes in (I LOVE the bottle).
Mouthwatering juicy citrus notes combined with floral, it is sweet and tangy. I also detect a musky base, a rich vanilla, amber and patchouli. Very sexy and feminine in my opinion, very strong so you certainly don't need to apply much (2 sprays were enough to last me several hours).
Elegant, fun, classy, flirty, and playful are what come to mind when I describe this scent. It is warm and delicious. Suitable for fun and even the office and is quite powerful and long-lasting.
You "did it again" Britney, I am LOVING this one.
Many of the reviews of this fragrance seem to be in line with my experience. I was curious to try Britney's new fragrance and after I tested it didn't impress me.
Time passed by and I smelled my co-worker wearing this amazing perfume, I wanted to know what she was wearing, I wanted to smell exactly alike! Was I surprised to hear it was Believe!
Talk about getting "blind" to the fragrance you're wearing! On her Believe was clean, classy, sexy and a bit sweet which I believe is the way other's smell Believe when you're wearing it.
Believe is a sweet and spicy fragrance! On me,i got: guava, honeysuckle, praline patchouli.Spicy and sweet!Fun and mysterious! The bottle is captivating! Love it! When i want that special guava note!
At first I didn't like it. I thought it smelled weird, but I recently tried this again at the store and my opinion has changed, maybe it was an old bottle idk but it smells really refreshing and fruity I can't wait to buy this.
First I'm gonna start off by saying I love the bottle!!! Way too cute!!! Now to the important stuff...the scent...not my favorite scent...but honestly for being promoted by Brittany it's not that bad. I will have to say the fruity floral is not over powering it's femanine with out being childish...considaring the girl on the package...love patchuoli which is the reason I decided to try this in the first place...the amber mixed in gives it that little kick that makes me like it...so well done. ;)~ Not a bad investment for $19.99...
I tried to love it as much as I love the bottle. I did but no. I think it was the patchouli that killed it for me. It doesn't blend to well with the guava and honeysuckle which I smell and love! From far away though I love it on my mom but when she gets close she smells like man. Lol she stopped wearing it as well.. Tried to use it as room freshner.. Too masculine:( why?!
I smelled this one on a friend and I had to have it. It smells great and more grown up than the other Britney fragrances. This is sophisticated and sexy. Yes it is sweet but not candy sweet like her other perfumes. From her line of the ones I've tried I like this one and Curious. Greatly recommend it specially in the summer time or nights out. Believe is complex, exotic and sensual. The staying power is amazing! Two sprays or three sprays maximum is all you will need. If you don't like patchouli and amber stay away from this one as it becomes prominent in the drydown.
To me this one smells like a fruitier version of Prada Prada!
Sadly the only thing I can give this one is it's pretty bottle. I have four of Britney's perfumes (not even a fan of hers) and most are great. But I hated this. It smelled... sterile, is really the only word that comes to mind. I even sprayed it on me, hoping that my body chemistry would somehow make it better. It had about the same appeal to me as bleach after an hour. And in frustration, I washed it off.
I have almost all of the "Britney" perfumes, and by far, this is the most grown up! I like it alot. I love it for totally different reasons then I like the "fantasy" line, and Its because it smells pretty, not just like a yummy treat.
Hmm. I'm not quite sure what to think of it. The opening is refreshing with a large dose of guava (which to my nose smells more like apple) and then it gets rather strong and tiring. I was once sitting on the bus with a lady who was wearing this - I wouldn't say it was an extremaly plesant exerience. The smell was very dominating and began to cause me a headache after a while. It is in fact a bit masculine because of the spicyness of patchouli, I belive. Not my cup of tea.
Not too bad, Britney! Definitely a massive improvement (in my opinion) from her fantasy and curious lines, and easily my favorite of her offerings. Believe is a tropical fruity, vaguely reminiscent of shampoo and sunblock, but with something perfumey added to the mix. All of the notes are very clear and prominent, with the exception of patchouli. Believe is very much a fruity fizzy summertime smoothie. Not sharp and citric, but, rather, pulpy and melony and tropical. The floral heart and ambery praline base are much weaker in comparison to the juicy top notes.
Believe is certainly fresher and less syrupy than the rest of her perfume line, and I would recommend it for young girls, new perfumistas, and anyone with a lively gregarious optimistic personality. Personally, still too sweet and could be annoying after long periods of exposure. Just not my personal cup of tea.
I love all of Britney's scents. So I had to get this one. I put it on and it smell like an old lady mixed with calogne. To musky and floral. It is VERY strong and doesn't smell pretty at all. I absolutely hate it would not recommend it to anyone.
Believe is my fav Brit perfume. I love expensive perfume and all of the other Brit perfumes are like "little girl" perfumes. Believe actually stays on me and I always get complimented on it. Its a great floral and light musk smell.
Out of all Britney Spears' fragrance, this is the one that seems to suit her image the most.
As soon as I sprayed this on my wrist, I could see Britney standing there in my imagination.
It sort of reminds me of M by Mariah Carey, just that this one is not as sweet/mouthwatering.
The scent lies on a bit of a dark side. When I first sprayed it on, I didn't get any hint of guava, but I definitely remember that there was a bit of citrusy tone to it.
In the middle, I could smell lime blossom and I guess a little bit of honeysuckle.
But then, there was defnitely the praline scent that gave the perfume more depth. The scent was quite musky, but not overpowering.
Then it gave me a head ache!! :(
I don't know why, but it just smelled buttery on my skin after like fifteen minutes.
I like this one the best out of all the Britney fragrances. Light and easy to wear. I don't find it fruity though.
I like the name of it as well which is probably the best thing about this fragrance.
Typical fruity teen chap-stick or body splash scent. Not saying its bad. Its artificial sweetness is like a strawberry/tangerine/hint of blood orange (not listed), champagne body spray, with much better lasting power obviously.
It is like sweet peeled citrus fruit and it smells soooooo good, I was wearing this this morning and then I showered and changed and put on Mediterranean breeze but I still have the scent of Believe on my mind it is my 11 year old daughters favorite of all Britney's scents and I can see why although I do like Fantasy more but Believe is very fruity and sweet and feminine to me.
The first time I experienced this perfume was when my roommate would spray it on right before she would run out the door. One day I caught her and asked what she was wearing and she told me it was Britney Spears Believe I was shocked! I had tried it in the store a couple months back and did not smell at all as nice as it did in the air as she would walk by.
It was a nice fruity a little sweet with a twist of patchouli. I was hoping for a nice more dignified "grown up" fragrance from Britney this time. Maybe with a bit more depth.
I bought it, and well, it falls flat on my skin...
It smells so intriguing in the air or on paper... but when I wear it, it is simply flat... Nothing to hold on to, the depth I was hoping to get more of had completely disappeared. It has sadly been sitting on my dresser only to be used as an air freshener. Does a great job at that!
I love Britney and some of her perfumes are great and some are not. But this particular one I didn't like till my partner bought it for me and thought it would "grow on me" and believe it or not it did. It actually is quite nice and very different to some of the perfumes I smell out there. Love it!
I am a HUGE fan of Britney. I love curious and hidden fantasy. I even spray on the orginal fantasy once in a while when i can handle the sweetness. But Believe smells masculine to me. I bought a full bottle of Believe and had to give it away. at first, i thought i could talk myslef into liking it as a fall/winter scent, but no matter the warmth, it smells like a man.
This is my fave Brit fragrance by far. It is hard to believe it is a celebrity scent. Everytime I wear this, I think 'why don't I wear this more often?' Yes, the top notes are fruity, but the woodsy-spicy notes come through to make it a complex wonderful scent. I get so many compliments on this, and people are always shocked when I say it is from "britney spears".
I just ordered my second larger bottle on ebay!
BTW, the body souffle is just wonderful and highly scented!
I work in a fragrance store, and I have tried just about every fragrance you can think of, But I get complemented the most when I wear Believe. Men love the way it smells!!
I really enjoyed Britney's Fantasy, so I bought Believe blindly and crossed my fingers. It starts off with a blast of citrus (reminded me of dishwashing soap), but mellows out within seconds. The guava comes out, and it's so lovely! It's fruity in a mature, sophisticated way. I was afraid that the patchouli would be overpowering (because nobody likes that, right?) but it's warm, clean, and ever so slightly sweetened by the praline. All in all a great fragrance... definitely multi-seasonal. Oh, and the bottle is gorgeous!
This is good BUT only if you find patchouli an appealing note. It has a cool crisp, earthy dry down and patch is involved. I notice the praline first. It smells like roasted chestnuts. The guava is pure and fresh. It mixes so well with the other notes making this feel more expensive. You would never guess this was a celebrity scent. Well blended and long lived 4 out of 5 stars. The bottle is very pretty, I could look at it all day.
Something about Believe reminds me of the smell of the chips used to line the bottom of hamster cages. But I like it! I know, I know, I'm a weirdo. Smells good to me.
Im surprised at this one. It smells like candy-floss/bubblegum...It's not sweet, no. It smells cool, very candy like but does have that icy-ness to it. This one is the best from her so far. :)
This fragrance is great! The oriental notes mixed with the fruity ones makes this fragrance more balance, and not too sweet.
At first, the smell its more fruity and sweet, but after a few minutes the scent become more dry and fresh.
I got this fragrance for my sister and friend, this fragrance is very fresh, uplifting but satisfies the olfactory nerves and doesn't make they say "I want more!" You can smell the fruity tops and the amber base. Simple but nice.
L really like the smell of this perfume it is not very strong but can last a long time.I don't mind the bottle too much but is not as nice as all the others. I like the Britney Spears perfumes a lot.
I have all of Britney's perfumes apart from hidden fantasy and the new fantasy one.
Belive In The Perfume!
Believe is overall a really classy perfume, i think that this defiently would qualify as one of Britneys best, because this fragrance from the entertainer is very grown up, and times it may seem overpowering when youve just woken up, but it has a beautiful sexy seductive base and smells gorgeous xx
I accosted a lady in the supermarket after following her for quite some time, inhaling this pleasant scent. She revealed it was "Believe."
Some perfumes can turn you into a stalker!!!! I JUST HAVE TO KNOW.
Im sorry to say I do not like this one either. It wasnt near as bad as hidden fantasy but it wasnt for me.I had almost bought this unsmelled.Im glad I didnt. It didnt smell bad just not for me.
i have to say im impressed Brit this fragrance is very nice and fresh at first with notes of guava and mandarin it reminds me of when I'm by my pool in a hot day and drinking punch. Then the floral group of honeysuckle and lime blossom comes over and worms it up then after those notes are tired they start to transforms in to nice worm notes of praline and amber
Brit got much respect from me with the launch of Believe. I've worn Curious, Fantasy, Midnight Fantasy and Curious In Control. All of these fragrances are really fruity and floral and are more geared towards teens. Believe was definitely outside of the box in comparison with her earlier fragrances. I think it showed more of her adult side, because it's definitely more mature than her other scents. It's not too sweet or too floral. It's a nice contrast between the two and definitely my favorite of all of her scents. The tope notes of guava and tangerine are definitely there giving this perfume some sweetness, but not abundant sweetness. What I smell mostly is the honeysuckle, patchouli, lime blossom and amber. The drydown is such a pleasant surprise because I can still smell the fruit but it doesn't overshadow the spiciness of the base notes. I think it has the perfect amount of everything. Believe is a modern, everyday fragrance and should be worn in the summer. On a scale 1 to 10, I give it 8.7. It's a really beautiful fragrance.
Believe does not smell like Angel! I have Angel and they are absolutely different. Believe is a spicy and fresh scent. I smell something like pepper in it. For my taste this is not sweet..maybe just a little bit when it dries down. It ist fresh like air, and very refreshing with the guava fruit. I can smell linden blossom too.
A spring and summer scent for young women. First I thought that it has no lasting power...but after wearing it for a week now I can honestly say that I can smell it all day long. It is very long lasting on my clothes. The bottle is very cute...it reminds me of something like a diamond! After Curious this is my favourite Britney perfume :)
Fresh and bright. This is a delicious fragrance for young girls, and the bottle is cute and beautiful like a piece of jewelry. I think Believe is the best perfume of Britney!
I can smell sweets mixed with tropical flowers. Refreshing like a delicious fruity cocktail, and feminine like a bouquet of flowers.
When I use this I remember my chilhood, with my friends, playing in the swimming pool in summer and eating Lime-Lemon Calippos. This is the sweet side of the perfume.
The other side is an elegant, feminine scent. Is like tropical flowers mixed with a clean sensation, very difficult to describe.
The staying power is very good, and is not neccesary to be so close to notice this scent.
Definitely, the correct words to describe this are:
-Elegant
-Original
-Luxurious scent
-Clean and sweet
Perfect for summer. I´m in LOVE with this scent. Is so special, charming and feminine.
Oh! Did I mentioned that I like this so much? ha ha ha
When I first sprayed this, it smelled like Coca-Cola... And even now over a year and a half later, every time I spray this, it STILL smells like Coca-Cola to me. I don't find it anything remotely close to 'Angel'(this is too 'fresh and light' while Angel is like a gourmand), but yes, I do agree with those who say it (somewhat) smells a little like a mans' cologne. I love the shower gel the most, it always awakens me cause of that 'freshy' note within it:)
I don't get why people say this is like angel? angel has a burnt caramel scent with patchouli that stinks and believe is a soft fruity sweet fragrance that smells nothing like angel.I like it so much I bought another gift set. Now I have 3 bottles and I really like this one it is soooo different from Britney's other scents it is more grown up.
To be very honest, this really killed it for me, i was at work showing a customer some perfumes and i just had to open the bottle to see how it smelt, the bottle it self is alot like angel by t.m but the smell is horrific not in a bad way just in a not very good way if that makes sense. But it came to me a bit to sour and just killed my nose, its more of her mature scents alright i give you that. I really wouldn't buy it, her other perfumes yes this one no.
i love britney, i loves the bottle, i loved the concept of the fragrance, but i hated the fragrance... bubblegum smell again... and i dislike this guava scent!
Spicy and fruity are two words that come to my mind when I smell this. It's a pleasant little scent, but really nothing too Earth shattering. After the fruits are done you get a dry down of mostly patchouli. Not the best Britney scent, but not bad. If you like spicy orientals with a touch of gourmand this might be up your alley.
My sister asked me to give believe a try with the body lotion. So I went and bought it and its a lot more delicious with the body lotion! I highly recommend getting it if you dont like the scent on its own! I like this fragrance more now!
Believe is such an amazingly unique fragrance.
It is one of those scents that grow on you, the more you wear it the more you love it.
When I first tried Believe I hated it. Even when I bought it, it wasn't a favourite. I thought it smelt far too masculine, spicy and strong, with the patchouli giving me some serious headaches.
Almost a year on, Believe has surpassed the other Britney fragrances in my collection and has become one of my favourite choices for Spring and Summer.
Believe is more spicy than it is sweet. If you want the sugary goodness from Fantasy, the sweet syrupy fruits in Midnight Fantasy or the light, girlish florals from Curious, then this isn't for you.
Britney has taken a much more mature approach towards this scent. My nose is met with a delightful blend of tropical fruits in the opening which is neither synthetic, overly sweet or nauseatingly fruity.
The drydown is divine with an interesting blend of lime blossom, honeysuckle, amber and patchouli, which gives this scent raw sex-appeal.
In some ways Believe smells dirty, in a sexual kind of a way. It's spicy, sensual, woodsy and intriguing. I find that I receive compliments mostly from men when I wear this scent.
People who found her other fragrances too sweet, too childish or too mainstream, should really give Believe a try.
For me, this perfume has a guava scent when i first sprayed it, it smelled like honeysuckle for an hour, then it smells like amber after that.
The bottle is very cute, and i love the way it stays on my skin.
The name of parfume tells a lot of truth about this parfume. He smells on hope,on fruits.I sourprised when I saw who made this parfume! And that person do that very well.My bow!
I love this parfume. It's a simphony of fruits and the bottle is so fancy and beautifful!
Let's try to thing how this parfume look like in our imagination.Fascinating, right!
BELIEVE opens with a sweetly, fruity burst of guava pulp and tangerine. Sweet, but not sickly sweet. It’s not as overpowering in it’s sweetness as FANTASY, IN CONTROL or MIDNIGHT FANTASY. It’s the middle notes of honeysuckle and linden blossom that make BELIEVE stand out from the current tidal wave of ‘sweet shop’ fragrances that have been cropping up with alarming frequency.
The middle notes lend a ‘grown up’ feel, as the sweetness in the scent calms down.
The base notes of patchouli, amber and pink pralines lend comforting warmth, minus the sugar rush I was expecting.
While BELIEVE may just be the latest in a long line of sweet fruity/floral, it knows where to draw the line between pleasantly ‘come closer’ sweet and ‘child’s first perfume’ syrupy sensory overload.
BELIEVE is Britney’s most wearable fragrance that grown women can easily wear without embarrassment.
I actually don't like this perfume much. It like an air fresher mixed with a cologne. Its a bit to strong so it makes me want to gag. When it settles in my skin its a bit better but I wont buy this one again.
This one is different from Angel. I love the guava. We don't have real guava (the fruit) in new Zealand. The fragrance gives me a sparkling feel. I agree with kim white that the patchouli is too strong. My mum doesn't like the smell of patchouli. When I sprayed it, she described the smell of patchouli as something that has been kept in the storage for too long. Overall, it is still a unique fruity fragrance to me.
ooh wow... i finally tested this today... and while it was not what i expected, it definitely surpasses britney's curious! the guava note is too subtle for my liking but this perfume is still unique... there's something about it that makes it interesting to me... i just can't put my finger on it... i think it reminds of a hilary duff's with love minus the spicy aspect... i would consider getting a bottle when the price goes down a bit. :)
I bought this unsniffed because I love Angel AND it was cheap...$30! I honestly didn't expect much from it, but I'm really glad I picked it up! It is like a fresh, fruity version of Angel with a more youthful spirit. I absolutely love the peppery opening notes followed by the sweet guava and melon notes. I think I found my perfect summer fragrance for 2009! :)
[AND I love the bottle...]
This fragrance has nothing to do with Angel because it's fresh. It's very nice fragrance, but not innocent at all. I love the guava note in it.
This is the first fragrance that holds my memory. Every time I feel it I remember... not important what..
This way this scent is unique.
When it dries down it becomes very sexy, I could compare it to Agent Provocateur sexiness, but this scent is not heavy and hasn't this old fashioned smell. This is fresh sexy scent. There's definitely good creators of these Britney Spears perfumes as I like all of them.
This perfume is very pleasant, except the patchouli makes it not as nice as it could be.Out of all her perfumes though, this one is her best.
This is soo good on so many levels. It is like aroma therapy. I like curious but there is no comparing the two. This is green at first then sweet then patchouli but sweet and spicy?? Somewhere in there is a juicy cherry note that just sparkles. Just a work of art. Not a teenage type of perfume. And not a run of the mill vanilla scent. I will wear it to the ballet tomorrow.
Honestly, this is the second time I have worn it. Sampled it at the store. I was wanting a sexier base and this has it! I think men will LOVE IT! Fruity at first and the depth of a sweeter patchouli about a 1/2 hour later. HEADY! Not for the young really.. I mean ones that like the fruity ONLY smells. It screams SEX! Heady, Sexual and seductive. The ones men and boys stop you and want to know what you are wearing! Not for the demure and shy. But up to date and modern! That man scent one commented on is what will attract! More depth than Angel and WISH by Chopard. Delicious!
To be honest, the packaging did not attract me, the bottle did not attract me either.. its rather pale and hmm.. uncreative. When i saw the ingredients i thought i might give it a try. A surprise it was, a surprise indeed. In the beginning, it created a confusion. Ive thought about what to write but there is no other description! It kept confusing me for 30 minutes; freshness and sweetness strugled for dominance until the freshness started fading away, leaving a very pleasant scent, still not quite sweet but definately a nice lead to the subtle gentle finish of this composition! With a solid price, lasting up to 6 hours, this perfume turned out to be a sensual experience and will win over every romantic and advanterous soul in their search of a new born spring forest in these upcoming grey and cold days! A must have for true nature lovers.
the whole package including add looks so innocent, girlie and fresh. I tried it yesterday on paper and on first smell it really is fresh. Actually it reminds me of lemon candies (a special kind that we have in slovakia) just yummy, not sweet though, it is probably the tangerine, what else? So I put it also on my wrist. For 15 to 20 minutes it really was nice, but then it changed, the fresh had gone and on my skin it went quite masculine, not nice at all. So in my opinion this is probably the worst of Britney's fragrances so far.
i smelled it and i dont think its like angel, maybe the notes or a part of it can remind someone of that one, but the whole spirit is different from angel, this smelled to me a bit synthetic and forced, if someone wears angel, it cant be substituted with anything. However i can recommend you to smell Ulric de Varens - Miss Varens, i cant promise you it will smell the same, because its not that longlasting and so..., but you will see that it has a very similar smell.
But anyway, dont make compromises about perfumes:)
I tried this because I heard it was similar to angel, which I was thinking of buying. If angel is as good as it, hopefully better, I will get it. Believe is sweet, like most other Britney Spears perfumes, and eventhough I'm not a big fan of Britney Spears, I can't help but like her perfumes. They're all very subtly sweet, but not overly disgustingly sweet. Also slightly mysterious and sexy. I like them. Is angel by t.m. anything like that?
i wear this fragrance i care about this cuz make me feel clean. i love watery scents and definitely this is one of then. in my opinion its a great move from britney to co-work with elizabeth arden. great smell, awesome bottle design and the notes are very fruity!!! good work britney!
not bad but worse than the other britney's fragrances. the best in my opinios was curious, but this one is too sweet and tries to be too girlish, it would be better with some serious notes.its the type of perfume that gives me a headache
I'd actually rate Believe as 3.5 stars, it's not quite a solid 4 to me. I don't care who's name is on a fragrance- if you like it wear it! I had to try Believe, because I just LOVE Fantasy. For the most part I think Believe is a nicely done fruity floral, with some oriental notes. Believe has a light patchouli base, a touch of honeysuckle, amber and some soft fruity notes (smells like guava or melon to me). Usually, anything with honeysuckle or patchouli doesn't wear well on my skin. Surprisingly, Believe is soft and is fairly warm. It actually reminds me of a more innocent, fruity, less heady version of Prada EDP.
Believe dries down rather quickly on my skin and becomes very light. You'd have to be very close to smell it at all on my skin, which makes Believe an intimate type of scent. It seems to give me more sillage on warmer days, so I'd imagine Believe would be best suited to sunny summer days. I did catch a hairspray type note, but it didn't last long on me. I like Fantasy better, but Believe is good in its own right. Worth a try for sure!
It smells like a horrible concoction of lemony, citrusy dishwashing soap. It's disgusting. I will say the bottle is appealing, but the advertising had no creativity to it and can you really believe the tagline? Barf a little -- this seems highly unlikely that Britney came up with that -- like that's the image she is really selling, nowadays.
The parallel with T.M. Angel is really neat! Ingredients really promise very sweet fragrance but bottle and color is like menthol mint... probably good comparison to Angel and its sweet surprise. Well we will see.
