"She is fresh, spontaneous and precocious. Her bubbliness will surround you with her infectious laughter. Occasionally you may catch her singing in the kitchen or bathing with candles and flowers. She can surprise you with her generosity and tenderness, while trying to hide her vulnerability. She can kiss like an angel underneath her firm shell. You may detect a hint of sweet violets about her that hides her soft underbelly. A fruity lusciousness with deep sincerity and a faint vagueness of a mystery that you can't quite name. She can turn your head, act on a whimsy, and sometimes on a deeper level be gently troubled or confused. Well aren't we all ? The"Butterfly" suits all occasions and is stunning under a full moon on a summer's night."
Sophia is a perfume for women by Bud Parfums. You can purchase a bottle additionally. Perfume range is sold in standard refills only.
Sophia was launched during the 2000's. The nose behind this fragrance is Howard Jarvis.
Sophia doesn’t smell like whatever I expected.
It smells like a harsh, non-vanilla version of Shalimar in the beginning, and then it gets dustier(something violet and incensy), slightly aldehyde in a musty way on top of that.
Somewhere along the way, something really sour, acidic, animalist comes and dance with the quite likable pre-existing scent, and to me, the animalist smell undertone ruins it a bit. The good news is, it doesn’t have a big sillage.
Later on, the acidic animalist smell gets tamer and the whole scent somewhat gets more powdery in a violet undertone. Not bad, but somehow the powdery-ness is acting weird, one moment it reminds me of stale and watery chocolate, the next moment it smells harsh again, and only some brief seconds the violet-y powdery smell smells welcoming.
Generally speaking, Sophia reminds me a lot of animalistic perfumes, and is acting like a mixture Shalimar and those animalist perfumes, then averaged and tamed. Maybe it’s just my skin and preference, well...sorry I’ve tried.
This struck me on first application as very much like Calvin Klein's Obsession, which I like. But this is actually nicer! Just as sweet and spicy but more complex in some way - perhaps a deeper resinous or incense note? A very lovely oriental fragrance! [However, it doesn't last very long.]
