In Black Byblos for men

In Black... Foremost, this doesn't really fit my normal definition of a typical "black". On initial application I get the Terre d'Hermes vibe that everyone speaks of. It's like your classic parent-driven sibling rivalry, where you'd hear, "why can't you be more like your brother?", mother says to her younger son, I'd say to those who may be looking to buy this instead of TdH to save some coin.

I do agree with the synopsis of 'hadrian' in that, In Black is not TdH, but should be given a shot based on its own merit and what it has to offer as an individual fragrance. I think it's possibly the result of what one would find if one mixed TdH with L'Eau Bleue d'Issey Eau Fraîche. Meditate on that for a minute, which only further perpetuates the comparisons. Hahaha :)

I see the TdH vibe more like the annoying little fucker that sits behind you at the movie theater, and every once in a while kicks the back of your seat. The one you wanna smack the shit out of but you can't, because he's a child. Just present enough to remind you that it's there.

I'm not saying that TdH is annoying, because I too love it. Thank you Mr Ellena. What I'm trying to impart is that I hope others give In Black a chance to shine as its own star. And for the price, it can't beat. My only negative is that I'm not completely sold on it being a true EdP. Or maybe I'm now used to EdP(s) that scream at me and last super long. All things said, you can't go wrong with spending >$30 USD for 100mL of this juice.

For me this is the most confusing scent ever. I've got TdH and don't find them at all similar. Thare's too much sweetness going on, and cannot smell any pepper either. At least it doesn't smell cheap, that was my biggest fear. Also it seems to reseamble Guerlain L'instant, which is in my other arm.

For those who love TdH, this Byblos will be a smell from the heaven – or a blasphemy!

I usually don’t like perfume copies – but Byblos in Black it’s not a pure and simple copy of TdH (even it is clear that you will have TdH in mind every time you’ll wear BiB).
Thanks to the perfumer Flavigny, BiB is a perfume on his own merits, with more pepper and dried herbs than TdH – but IT IS NOT Terre d’Hermes.

Good longevity and sillage “comme il faut”. Made in Italy. Plus a reasonable price.

It doesn't last long, but it smells good. In comparison with "Terre by Hermes" Byblos is much more cheaper with the same smell.

This reminds me (and many people here as it seems) of Terre d'Hermes. It features the same treatment of geranium as a central theme: green, bitter and kind of dirty. The similarity stops here however because there is no juicy citrus but rather a sulfurous remnant of grapefruit. There is no deep noticeable vetiver either or the famous flint note from Terre in this one. This takes the central geranium theme and dips it into sweetness. Among the sweet stuff I feel there must be a strong rosewood note, some fir balsam and a clean musk. Where Terre comes off as a merciless green blade (with which one will slay his -business- enemies and conquer their women) this one shows vulnerability and perhaps a bit of an inner conflict. I could even call it bipolar.
The overall feel on my skin is green, soapy, sweet with hints of tea and dried herbs. Not my cup of tea but not a bad tea at all (although probably not as well crafted as Terre). It has a very high weird factor, almost niche. Worth trying if only to see how weird an inexpensive perfume by an unknown perfumer can be.

PS: Try layering it with a clean rose note and what you'll get will be a very unisex rose garden! Magic!?!?!?

شباهت بوی اون با تق را تا حدی قبول دارم ولی نه زیاد.احساسی که این به من میده با تق متفاوته و براحتی میشه این دو را از هم تشخیص داد.بوی اون از لحاظ تیزی یه جورایی شبیه پولو سبز هست.اولش بوی سبزی خرد شده تازه میده که بعدش ملایمتر میشه ولی هنوز تند و تیزه.کاملا مردانه و خوشبو

دوستان میفرمایند شبیه تغ هرمسه قبول دارم اما فکر نکنید مشابهت خیلی زیادی داره ها.نه همون اولش فط یه جورایی شبیهشه.تغ هرمس سنگین تره رایحه اش.این ملایمه.اینکه هرمس رو پسندیدین پس الان لازم و واجبه که این عطر رو هم در کلکسیون داشته باشید؛نه به نظرم اینطور نیست.بگذارید اینجوری بگم:
جای تغ بایبلاس نگیرد گرچه که ارزانتر است
ولی نسبت به قیمتش خیلی خوبه

nice smooth scent, not loud. TDH not really, no strong orange note. gentle scent. office scent

Johnny Buoy and shogun are right on the money, this is very much like Terre D'Hermes (another cheapy that smells a bit like the Hermes is UDV Action). It is also a lot cheaper, I got 100ml for $15 on sale. It has been a while since I tried the T D'H and did not care too much for it, but I really like the Byblos, I think it is because there is not the strong orange in Byblos. On me this warm woody rich fragrance lasts a long time, though the sillage isn't great.

... I just bought it last night, as my wife gave that to me as a gift. First I used that on my skin, the fancy smell (which I hate the most) embraced on my nose. I agree, it's only for daylight work office hours perfumes ...

If you like Terre d'Hermes, then I am sure you will like this one.
I bought a bottle that was on special today. I was pleasantly surprised.
I would say this is not for the young night cluber, but is ideal for professional office workers.
Apart from reminding me of Terre d'Hermes, it also reminds me of Montale Red Vetiver.

Very nice. I feel that I am wearing Terre d'Hermes after 15 min. of applying it.

This one is one of the most contemporary scent I've ever smelt. There's no joint to vintage style. All it displays is a linear mellow and freshening theme. It's casual and easy going, easy to wear and comforting.
For the first time, I got only bitter scent but focusing again on it I got something delicious and sweet perfectly blended within the mixture, something that smells like gummy candy.
So I think I disagree a little to similarity between this and Terre d'Hermes though the undertone and backgrounds are parallel; try both again. They're obviously distinguished by the dusty smell of Terre and tidy transparent smell of In Black.
It's modern, neat, smart and attractive.
It's formal rather than casual and brings you lots of complements in office time; so so so chic and handsome.

longevity: well it's a parfum one and great but stay perfect only on skin, 9/10
projection: not bad but could be stronger 7/10

Don't 'stay away', try it. It's not my type either but it's actually ok.
It starts with light citruses and a hard pepper note on a woody body with a subtle resin. The grapefruit dies off for the drydown so it nit harsh, just pleasant.
If you like Marc Jacobs Bang, this is a lil more wearable.
